[0010] With general reference to the drawings, various embodiments of a rolling storage module / unit with drawers for use with a modular system are shown according to exemplary embodiments. The rolling storage unit includes casters on its underside to allow it to roll easily. The rolling storage unit includes one or more drawers that can be pulled out from the unit. As is generally known, with a conventional rolling storage unit, trays or items stacked in the container section of the unit may need to be removed. The applicant argues that the combination of wheels on the mobile storage unit and one or more drawers offers improved mobility compared to a conventional drawer storage unit and improved access to the items stored in the mobile storage unit. The mobile storage units described here, comprising a drawer and one or more wheels, allow the drawer to be opened without having to unstack units or boxes stacked on the mobile storage unit.
[0011] In various embodiments, the rolling storage unit is equipped to limit / prevent tipping when the drawer(s) is / are extended. In various specific embodiments, the drawer(s) include one or more rollers, wheels, or support devices to limit / prevent tipping when the drawer(s) are extended from the rolling storage unit. In various specific embodiments, the drawer(s) move outward and downward as they are extended, allowing the wheels to reach the floor. In other embodiments, the wheel(s) (e.g., spring-loaded wheels, manually extendable wheels, etc.) can be extended from the drawer base, so that the front of the drawer is supported by the wheel(s).In various embodiments, the drawer(s) include / include sliding rails at the front of the drawer(s) to provide support.
[0012] In various embodiments, the rolling storage unit includes a latch for the drawer(s) and / or a brake / lock for the casters. The applicant believes that the use of a latch or latches or a drawer lock prevents the drawer(s) from extending unintentionally, which can occur when the user moves the rolling storage unit. In various embodiments, the drawer(s) includes latches on the sides of the drawer(s) that engage in slots in the main body of the rolling storage unit to lock and unlock the drawer(s) to the body. In various embodiments, the drawer(s) includes a handle and an arm connected to a ramp, such that when a user pulls on the handle, the ramp retracts the latch inwards (for example, retracting the latch into the drawer). In various specific embodiments, the drawer lock includes a pin locking mechanism.
[0013] As is generally known, the main body of a rolling storage unit can be inadvertently moved along with the drawer(s) when the drawer(s) are pulled to extend or open it. In several specific embodiments, a brake extends from the main body of the rolling storage unit when the drawer is unlocked or pulled to prevent the main body from moving in the same direction as the drawer. In several other embodiments, the main body of the rolling storage unit includes a foot-operated brake that is activated when the user steps on a lever, causing the lever to engage with the floor. In several embodiments, a handle is turned to release a brake from the main body of the rolling storage unit.
[0014] In various embodiments, the rolling storage unit can include one or more socket connectors extending from and / or located on the top of the rolling storage unit and configured to engage with one or more plug connectors of an adjacent modular storage unit. In various embodiments, the plug connectors and socket connectors described herein and shown in the drawings are compatible with the coupling mechanism(s) described in International Patent Publication No. WO 2017 / 191628, which is hereby incorporated in its entirety by reference. In various embodiments, the socket connectors and plug connectors described herein interlock to rigidly connect the supply modules from which the socket connectors and plug connectors protrude.
[0015] With reference to Fig. Figures 1-2 show details of a mobile storage unit or module 10 and a supply module 40 according to exemplary embodiments. The mobile storage module 10 comprises a lid 25 with a top surface 12 and an opposing bottom surface facing away from the top surface 12. One or more socket connectors 14 protrude from and / or are located within the top surface 12 of the mobile storage module 10. The one or more socket connectors 14 are configured to connect to one or more plug connectors (see, for example, plug connector 172 from [reference missing]). Fig. 4) engage, extending from a surface such as the underside and / or rear of another supply module. The rolling storage module 10 includes a latch recess 18 configured to engage with a latch to secure the rolling storage module 10 to other objects and / or supply modules.
[0016] The mobile storage module 10 comprises a main body 24 with a plurality of corners 20. In various embodiments, the corners 20 define the outermost edges of the mobile storage module 10. In various specific embodiments, the corners 20 are reinforced with a material such as metal. The mobile storage module 10 also comprises a plurality of corner posts or columns 22 that extend between and connect opposing upper and lower corners 20. In various specific embodiments, the corner posts 22 are made of aluminum and are aluminum extrusion posts. The main body 24 comprises a front wall 26 and an opposing rear wall 28. A handle 16 is coupled to the main body 24 along the rear wall 28. The mobile storage module 10 also comprises wheels 17. The wheels 17 are coupled to the main body 24 next to the rear wall 28.
[0017] With reference to Fig. Figure 2 shows various details of the supply module 40 according to an exemplary embodiment. The supply module 40 comprises a cover or lid 55 with a top surface 42. The top surface 42 includes one or more socket connectors 44, which are arranged and / or defined in the top surface 42. The supply module 40 includes a latching recess 48, which is essentially identical to the latching recess 18.
[0018] The supply module 40 comprises a main body 54 with a plurality of corners 50. In various embodiments, the corners 50 define the outermost edges of the supply module 40. Unlike the rolling storage module 10, the supply module 40 does not include wheels. In various specific embodiments, the corners 50 are reinforced with a material such as metal. The supply module 40 also includes a plurality of corner posts or columns 52 that extend between and connect opposing upper and lower corners 50. The supply module 40 includes one or more drawers 46 that can be pulled out from a front 56 of the main body 54 of the supply module 40. The main body 54 also includes a rear 58 section that faces the front 56.
[0019] As previously mentioned, drawers, unlike conventional rolling containers where trays or items may need to be removed from the container to locate a desired item or tool, allow for faster and easier access to the storage section of a supply module. Furthermore, the applicant argues that the combination of the wheels on the rolling storage unit and the one or more drawers provides improved mobility compared to a conventional drawer storage unit and improved access to the items stored within the rolling storage unit, as there is no need to unstack units or boxes attached to or stacked on the rolling storage unit.
[0020] With reference to Fig. Figures 3-5 show various details of plug and socket connectors that enable engagement between a rolling storage unit and various other supply modules or storage devices. Several aspects of a socket connector 150 are shown. The socket connector 150 is essentially identical to socket connectors 14 and 44 and can be used with rolling storage modules. In various embodiments, socket connectors 14 and 44 are structurally and functionally identical or similar to socket connector 150.
[0021] The socket connector 150 comprises a recessed surface 174 below an upper or top surface. The back wall 176, the opposite front wall 181, the first side wall 178, and the opposite second side wall 180 extend upwards from the recessed surface 174. The socket connector 150 comprises a pocket 184, which is jointly defined by the recessed surface 174, the back wall 176, the front wall 181, the first side wall 178, and the second side wall 180.
[0022] The first rib 187 extends from the rear wall 176 and the first side wall 177 above the pocket 184 and / or the recessed surface 174. In particular, the first rib 187 extends in the direction 191 from the first side wall 177 and in the direction 190 from the rear wall 176. The second rib 188 extends from the rear wall 176 and the second side wall 180 above the pocket 184 and / or the recessed surface 174. In particular, the second rib 188 extends in the direction 193 from the second side wall 180 and in the direction 190 from the rear wall 176. To couple a socket connector 150 with a plug connector, such as a plug connector 172, the plug connector 172 moves in the direction 171 with respect to on the socket connector 150.
[0023] With reference to Fig. 4-5 The supply module and / or storage device, in various embodiments, comprises a connector 172 extending from a surface, such as the surface 170 of the supply module and / or storage device (for example, 10, 40, etc.). The connector 172 comprises a body 175 extending from the surface, a first tongue 186, and a second tongue 186. The first tongue 186 and the second tongue 186 both extend from the body 175 and are both offset from and located above the surface. The first tongue 186 defines a first channel 198 between the rear surface and the first tongue 186, and the second tongue 186 defines a second channel 198 located between the rear surface and the second tongue 186.The first channel 198 and the second channel 198 each extend on opposite sides (for example, the first side 192 and the opposite second side 194) of the body 175.
[0024] Each of the first channel 198 and the second channel 198 comprises a front open end and a rear closed end. For example, the first channel 198 comprises a front open end 183 and a rear closed end 182, and the second channel 198 comprises a front open end 183 and a rear closed end 182.
[0025] With reference to Fig. Figures 6-8 show various details of the mobile storage module 210 according to an exemplary embodiment. As previously explained, the applicant believes that the combination of the wheels on the mobile storage unit (e.g., 10) and the one or more drawers from a stationary module (e.g., 40) offers improved mobility compared to conventional drawer storage. The mobile storage module 210 comprises a main body 226 and a drawer 246 that can be pulled out of the main body 226. In particular, the main body 226 defines a cavity in which the drawer 246 is arranged. The drawer 246 includes one or more rollers, shown as wheel(s) 252, which are coupled to the drawer 246 via a connecting element, shown as wheel holder 250. In various embodiments, the one or more rollers are made of polyoxymethylene (“POM”).
[0026] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 6, when the drawer 246 is closed, the wheel bracket 250 can be moved downwards (for example, towards the floor) so that the mobile supply module 210 can be used as a transport trolley. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 7, the wheels 252 of the trolley 210 are above the floor and / or have no contact with the floor when the trolley function is not in use and the drawer 246 of the trolley 210 is closed. When the drawer 246 is removed from the main body 226 (see, for example, Figure 7), the wheels 252 of the trolley 210 are above the floor and / or have no contact with the floor when the trolley function is not in use and the drawer 246 of the trolley 210 is closed. Fig. 8) When the drawer is extended, the wheel bracket 250 moves downwards (for example, towards the floor), so that the drawer 246 is supported in the open or extended position. As is generally known, the wheels 252 limit / prevent tipping when the drawer 246 is extended from the main body 226 of the mobile supply module 210.
[0027] With reference to Fig. Figures 9-10 show details of a roller that can be used with the mobile supply module 210, according to an exemplary embodiment. As shown schematically, the drawer 246 includes a roller, shown as wheel 262, which is coupled to the drawer 246 by a connecting element, shown as pivotable wheel mount 260. The wheel 262 and / or the wheel mount 262 can be moved or pivoted from a storage position to an active position. When the wheel 262 is moved in the direction of arrow 264, the wheel 262 pivots relative to the drawer 246.
[0028] With reference to Fig. Figure 11 details an actuating element that can be used with a rollable supply module 210 and / or a wheel 262, according to an exemplary embodiment. In various specific embodiments, a pedal 272, which can be actuated by a user's foot, is connected to a latch 270. When the pedal 272 is actuated, the wheel 262 and / or the wheel mount 260 pivot. As is generally known, the pedal 272 and the latch 270 function similarly to a pedal for opening other types of containers (for example, waste bins, etc.).
[0029] With reference to Fig. Figures 12-13 show various details of a mobile supply module 310 according to a further exemplary embodiment. The mobile supply module 310 is essentially identical to the mobile supply module 210, except for the differences described here. A drawer 346 (shown schematically) moves outward and downward relative to a main body 354 when the drawer 346 is moved into an extended or open position. In such an embodiment, the drawer 346 does not tilt or move the main body 354 when the drawer 346 is moved downward (in the position shown in Figure 12-13). Fig. (12 shown orientation) falls towards the floor. When a user moves the drawer 346 back into the storage position inside the main body 354, the drawer 346 is lifted upwards (i.e., in a direction away from the floor) while simultaneously being pushed into the main body 354.
[0030] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 13, in various specific embodiments, a handle 352 on the top of a drawer 346 can be used to actuate a wedge 360 between a body of the drawer 346 and one or more wheels 362, in order to extend the wheel(s) 362 below the bottom of the drawer 346. For example, in various specific embodiments, a pivot pin can be arranged between the handle 352 and the wedge 360. As is generally known, when the wheel(s) 362 is / are extended relative to the drawer 346, a front 347 of the drawer 346 is supported by the wheel(s) 362. In other words, the weight of the drawer 346 is supported from the floor by the wedge 360 and the wheel(s) 362.
[0031] In various specific embodiments, a pedal or lever 364 is coupled to a front of the drawer 364. In one specific embodiment, the pedal 364 is coupled to a front and middle of the drawer 346. In such embodiments, actuation of the pedal 364 presses the wedge 360 and pushes the wheel(s) 362 downwards into the base.
[0032] With reference to Fig. Figures 14-16 show details of various wheels and extension systems that can be used with the mobile supply module 310, according to exemplary embodiments. In various specific embodiments, one or more wheels 372 are coupled to the drawer 346 by a wheel mount 374 and a spring 376. In other words, the wheel(s) 372 is / are spring-loaded so that the wheel(s) 372 automatically extends when the drawer 346 is pulled out of the main body 354 of the mobile supply module 310. The main body 354 also includes a projection 370 that extends outward from a front wall of the main body 354, facing away from the wheels 317. When the drawer 346 is pushed into the main body 354 (i.e., placed into a storage position), the projection 370 engages in a section of the wheel 7 of the wheels 372, so that the wheel(s) 372 automatically retract(s).In other words, when a user pushes the drawer 346 into the main body 354, the wheel(s) 372 will engage without any further user interaction.
[0033] A front face 347 of the drawer 346 faces outwards away from the main body 354 and / or the wheels 317. In contrast, a back face of the drawer 346 faces towards the main body 354. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 14, one or more wheels 372 are arranged below the drawer 346 when it is in the extended or retracted position. In other words, when the wheel(s) 372 is / are extended, it is / are located between a ground surface and the drawer 346. In various embodiments, one or more wheels protrude from the drawer 346 at the front 347, where 347 is the section of the drawer 346 furthest from the main body 354 when the drawer 346 is in the extended position.
[0034] The wheels 317 of the main body 354 are arranged along the sides of the main body 354 and the mobile supply module 310, adjacent to a rear wall of the main body 354. In other words, the wheels 317 project outwards relative to the side walls of the main body 354. In various embodiments, the wheels 317 project outwards from the side walls and beyond the rear wall of the main body 354. The rear wall faces outwards away from the drawer 346. In various embodiments, the rear wall of the main body 354 faces the handle 316. In various embodiments, the wheels 317 of the main body 354 have a dimension that is larger than a dimension of the wheels 372 of the drawer 346. In various embodiments, the wheels 317 of the main body 354 have a first diameter and the wheels 372 have a second diameter. The second diameter is smaller than the first diameter.
[0035] In various embodiments, a user manually extends one or more wheels 372, for example by operating a lever. As in Fig. As shown in Figures 15-16, a cam 386 coupled to a handle shown as a lever 388 can be used to extend one or more wheels 382. In such embodiments, the lever 388 can be actuated by a user's hand or foot to facilitate the extension of the wheel 382. When the wheel(s) 382 is / are extended, the position of the wheel(s) 382 changes relative to a base surface 366 of the drawer 346. In various embodiments, one or more wheels 382 are spring-loaded, so that the wheels 382 are biased into a closed or storage position. In such embodiments, the cam 386 has a lever 388 that can be actuated by a user, so that when the lever 388 and the cam 386 are rotated (see, for example, Figure 15-16), the wheel(s) 382 are extended. Fig. 16) the cam 386 pushes the wheel / wheels 382 downwards and / or a spring pushes the wheel / wheels 382 back upwards (i.e. towards the bottom 366 of the drawer 346).
[0036] The wheels 382 are movable between a storage position, in which the wheels 382 are adjacent to the base surface 366 of the drawer 346, and an extended position, in which the wheels 382 extend away from the base surface of the drawer 346. In various specific embodiments, the base surface 366 is a downward-facing surface (for example, in the one described in Fig. 14 shown orientation).
[0037] With reference to Fig. Figure 17 shows details of a mobile supply module 410 according to a further exemplary embodiment. The mobile supply module 410 is essentially identical to the mobile supply modules 310 and 210, except for the differences described herein. The mobile supply module 410 comprises a drawer 446 and a main body 454. A support structure, shown as a wire form 430, is coupled to the drawer 446. The wire form 430 comprises one or more rollers 436 coupled along a rod 432. In certain embodiments, the wire form 430 comprises two rollers 436. The wire form 430 includes a pair of pivot arms 438 that allow movement of the wire form 430 relative to the drawer 446 and / or a base 466 of the drawer 446.
[0038] In various specific embodiments, rollers 436 are made of POM. In various specific embodiments, the wire form 430 includes a pedal or footplate 434 to enable users to actuate the wire form 430. When the wire form 430 and / or the footplate 434 is actuated by a user, the wire form 430 pivots in a direction indicated by the arrow 440. The wire form 430 is arranged to have minimal clearance from a ground surface. The applicant believes that this reduces or limits the tilting of the drawer 446 when the drawer 446 is moved into an extended position relative to the main body 454.
[0039] With reference to Fig. Figure 18 shows details of a mobile supply module 510 according to a further exemplary embodiment. The mobile supply module 510 is essentially identical to the mobile supply modules 410, 310, and 210, except for the differences described herein. The mobile supply module 510 comprises a drawer 546 with a base 566. The base 566 of the drawer 546 includes a fixed support device (for example, a roller, wheel, etc.). In various embodiments, the support device is a roller 562. The applicant believes that the roller 562 prevents the main body 554 from tilting significantly while simultaneously providing sufficient support under the drawer 546 for the desired rigidity and strength. The rollers 562 are made of a material that slides easily on a ground surface 560. In various specific embodiments, the rollers 562 are made of a POM composite material. In various specific embodiments, there is a minimum distance between the underside of the rollers 562 and the ground surface 560. In one specific embodiment, the distance is approximately 1 / 8 inch (for example, 1 / 8 inch plus or minus 0.05 inch).
[0040] With reference to Fig. References 19-37 illustrate various embodiments of detents for the drawer(s) and / or a brake / lock for the casters according to exemplary embodiments. The applicant believes that the use of detents or drawer locks prevents the drawer(s) from being unintentionally pulled out, which can occur when the user moves the mobile storage unit, and that the brake prevents the entire mobile supply module from moving when only the drawer is to be opened. In other words, the detents or locking assemblies described herein resist the movement of the drawer relative to the main body of the mobile supply module.
[0041] With reference to Fig. Figures 19-20 show a locking assembly 610 according to an exemplary embodiment. The locking assembly 610 comprises a latch 612 configured to engage a locking structure 614. A cam surface of the latch 612 engages a ramp 616 of the locking structure 614. A detent mechanism 620, comprising a spring 624 and a ball 622, serves to lock and / or unlock the latch 612. The applicant believes that the arrangement of the locking structure 614 allows a user to easily identify the locking structure and quickly determine whether a drawer of the rolling supply module is locked.
[0042] With reference to Fig. Figure 21 shows various details of a locking mechanism that can be used with a drawer 646 according to a further exemplary embodiment. The drawer 646 includes a corner 648 having a vertical structure, for example, a vertical extrusion. The drawer 646 includes a spring 652 coupled to a lever 650, such that the drawer 646 is spring-loaded. In such an embodiment, the spring-loaded lever 650 engages in the corner 648 of the drawer 646 to lock the drawer 646 or to hold it in a storage position within a main body of the mobile supply module.
[0043] With reference to Fig. Figures 22-23 show details of a latch assembly 710, which can be used with a drawer 746, according to a further exemplary embodiment. The latch assembly 710 comprises a latch 712, which is configured to engage with a front face 718 of the drawer 746. In various embodiments, the drawer 746 includes a movable handle 714, which rests against and / or engages with the latch 712. In various embodiments, the latch assembly 710 also includes a spring 716, which is coupled to the latch 712, so that the latch 712 is spring-loaded.
[0044] The spring-loaded latch 712 prevents the drawer 746 from sliding out of the main body of a rolling supply module. The spring 716 provides a force that pushes the latch 712 downwards (for example, towards the drawer 746 and / or the ground). The handle 714 is movable and can be moved upwards (for example, away from the ground) towards the latch 712 to push and move the latch 712 upwards. Once the latch 712 has been pushed upwards, the drawer 746 can be pulled outwards into an extended position. When a user is ready to close the drawer 746, a ramp at the front of the latch 712 can be engaged by the top of the drawer 746 to move automatically out of the drawer front 718 when closing.Once the front 718 of the drawer 746 is pushed beyond the finger or projection of the latch 712, the spring 716 pulls the latch 712 and the finger back down into a locked position.
[0045] With reference to Fig. Figures 24-26 show details of the locking assembly for a mobile supply module according to a further exemplary embodiment. The drawer 846 can be extended relative to a main body 854 of the mobile supply module. The drawer 846 includes a handle 850 on a front 848 of the drawer 846. The drawer 846 also includes one or more latches 852. The latch 852 is arranged on one side of the drawer 846. In certain embodiments, the drawer 846 includes two latches 852, one latch 852 being arranged on each side of the drawer 846. The one or more latches 852 are configured to engage in corresponding slots 856, which are arranged on opposite inner surfaces 858 of the main body 854.
[0046] When a user lifts the handle 850, the handle 850 pulls on the latches 852, causing one or more latches 852 to slide back into the front 848 of the drawer 846 and move the latches 852 out of the slots 856 of the main body 854, thereby unlocking the drawer 846 from the main body 854. When a user has finished with the drawer 846, they can close it (i.e., slam the drawer shut) and move the drawer 846 back into its storage position within the main body 854.
[0047] With reference to Fig. Figures 27-28 show details of a latch assembly that can be used with a drawer 946 according to a further exemplary embodiment. A front 948 of the drawer 946 comprises a handle 954 which is rigidly coupled to an arm 956 and a sliding ramp 955. In various specific embodiments, the handle 954 is exposed, while the arm 956 and the sliding ramp 955 are arranged behind or concealed from the front 948 of the drawer 946.
[0048] When a user pulls on the handle 954, the arm 956 and the sliding ramp 955 slide upwards. A corresponding sliding ramp 950 of the latch 952 slides and is also pulled inwards, thereby retracting the latch 952 into the drawer 946. The sliding ramps 955 and 950 convert the lifting motion of the handle 954 into a sliding motion of the latch 952. Fig. Figure 28 shows a sectional view through handle 954 along line 28---28 from Fig. 27.
[0049] With reference to Fig. Figures 29-30 show details of the latch assembly according to another exemplary embodiment. A drawer 1046 includes a spring, which is shown as a leaf spring 1048. The leaf spring 1048 is fixed at one end by a fastening means 1050 and movable at the other end, which engages with a holder 1052. The holder 1052 allows the leaf spring 1048 to move along the drawer 1046 (for example, back and forth), but prevents the leaf spring 1048 from moving closer to or further away from the drawer 1046. In other words, the leaf spring 1048 can move in the Fig. The leaf spring 1048, as shown in Figures 29-30, does not move up and down relative to the drawer 1046. In other embodiments, the leaf spring 1048 can be attached to the main body of the rolling supply module instead of to the drawer.
[0050] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 29, the leaf spring 1048 bulges outwards, away from a surface 1046 of the drawer 1046, when the drawer 1046 is open. As shown in Fig. As can be seen in Figure 30, the leaf spring 1048 is held in position by a locking device 1056 in the main body 1056 when the drawer 1046 is closed.
[0051] With reference to Fig. Figure 31 details a locking mechanism, designed as a latch, that can be used with a rollable supply module 1110, according to an exemplary embodiment. The rollable supply module 1110 is essentially identical to the rollable supply modules 510, 410, 310, and 210, except for the differences described herein. A pin 1150 is biased downward (i.e., toward the drawer 1146) from the main body 1154 by a spring 1152 to hold the drawer 1146 in place. In this position, the pin 1150 prevents the drawer 1146 from sliding forward relative to the main body 1154, thus preventing the drawer 1146 from opening. When a user presses a lower button 1148, a pin 1150 is fully pressed into the main body 1154, allowing the drawer 1146 and the button 1148 to slide past the main body 1154, thus moving the drawer 1146 into the open or extended position.
[0052] With reference to Fig. Figures 32-37 show various details of a latch assembly that can be used with a supply module 1210, according to a further exemplary embodiment. The rollable supply module 1210 is essentially identical to the rollable supply modules 1110, 510, 410, 310, and 210, except for the differences described here. The main body 1254 is engaged by a latch 1252, which includes a projection 1250 and a spring, shown as a torsion spring 1256, to keep the drawer 1246 closed.
[0053] When the main or body section of the latch 1252 is extended along the longitudinal axis of the drawer 1246, the drawer 1246 is locked (see, for example, Fig. 34). In the locked position, the torsion spring 1256 is as shown in Fig. 36 is shown aligned. When the latch 1252 is pulled outwards, the orientation of the projection 1250 changes, so that an opening of the projection 1250 points inwards towards the drawer 1246 (see, for example, Fig. 35). In the unlocked position, the torsion spring 1256 is inserted into the Fig. 37 shown orientation rotated.
[0054] With reference to Fig. Figure 38 details a locking mechanism for a drawer 1346, which can be used with a mobile supply module 1310, according to a further exemplary embodiment. The mobile supply module 1310 is essentially identical to the mobile supply modules 1110, 510, 410, 310, and 210, except for the differences described herein. A locking mechanism 1348, shown schematically, locks the drawer 1346 within the main body 1354 when the mobile supply module 1310 is tilted backward (i.e., toward the wheels 1317).
[0055] With reference to Fig. Figure 39 details a locking mechanism for a drawer 1446, which can be used with a mobile supply module 1410, according to a further exemplary embodiment. The mobile supply module 1410 is essentially identical to the mobile supply modules 1310, 1110, 510, 410, 310, and 210, except for the differences described herein. A drawer support, schematically depicted as a slide 1448, is arranged on a front section of the drawer 1448 to support the drawer 1446 and prevent it from tipping.
[0056] With reference to Fig. Figure 40 details a locking mechanism for a drawer 1546, which can be used with a mobile supply module 1510, according to a further exemplary embodiment. The mobile supply module 1510 is essentially identical to the mobile supply modules 1310, 1110, 510, 410, 310, and 210, except for the differences described here. A wheel 1550, shown schematically and loaded with a spring 1552, is coupled to the drawer 1546. A lever, shown as a foot lever 1548, can be actuated to extend the wheel 1550. Due to the spring 1553, the wheel 1550 springs back to the retracted or stowed position when the foot lever 1548 is released, unless it is locked.
[0057] With reference to Fig. Figure 41 shows details of the locking mechanism for a drawer 1646, which can be used with a mobile supply module 1610, according to a further exemplary embodiment. The mobile supply module 1610 corresponds essentially to the mobile supply modules 1510, 1310, 1110, 510, 410, 310, and 210, except for the differences described herein. A tilting structure 1648 is coupled to a drawer 1646 to tilt a bottom surface of a drawer 1646 relative to a main body 1654 of a mobile supply module 1610.
[0058] With reference to Fig. Figure 42 details a braking mechanism for a drawer 1746 with a rolling mechanism, which can be used with a mobile supply module 1710, according to a further exemplary embodiment. The mobile supply module 1710 is essentially identical to the mobile supply modules 1510, 1310, 1110, 510, 410, 310, and 210, except for the differences described herein. In such an embodiment, the wheels 1742 are always in contact with a ground surface. The main body 1754 presses a brake 1750 downwards into the ground and / or a surface while the drawer 1746 is pulled outwards into an extended position. Thus, the mobile supply module 1710 does not roll around when the drawer 1746 is pulled out of the main body 1754.
[0059] With reference to Fig. Figure 43 shows details of a braking mechanism for a main body 1854 of a mobile supply module according to a further exemplary embodiment. In such embodiments, a foot brake 1858 is coupled to a front section of the main body 1854, so that when a user activates the foot brake 1858 (i.e., steps on it), a lever engages in the ground to prevent the wheels 1856 of the main body 1854 from rolling.
[0060] With reference to Fig.Figure 44 shows details of a braking mechanism for a main body 1954 of a mobile supply module 1910 according to a further exemplary embodiment. The mobile supply module 1910 is essentially identical to the mobile supply modules 1710, 1510, 1310, 1110, 510, 410, 310, and 210, except for the differences described herein. In such embodiments, a handle 1948 is coupled to a side section of a main body 1954. When a user engages and turns the handle 1948, a brake 1950 is extended from the base of a main body 1954. The engagement of the brake 1950 with the base prevents the main body 1954 from rolling away while the drawer 1946 is being extended.
