Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a device for separating a twin or multiple hose.
[0002] Twin or multiple hoses are commonly used in hydraulic hoses, for example. To connect the ends of a twin or multiple hose to fittings, the hose must be split into individual hoses over a certain length.
[0003] Twin or multiple hoses consist of two or more plastic cores, each surrounded by a stabilizing braid made of high-strength material, such as steel, carbon, or plastic. The outer cover layer is also made of plastic, with the individual hoses connected by a connecting web.
[0004] To separate the connecting bar of a twin or multiple hose, a sharp-edged wire made of polyester or nylon is commonly used. The wire is placed at the connecting bar of the two individual hoses. A sawing motion of the wire separates the connecting bar of the hose over the desired length, creating two separate hose sections.
[0005] The described method of cutting using a wire requires force and special care to ensure that the outer covering layer is not damaged down to the braid when cutting the hoses, which can lead to leaks.
[0006] DE 198 15 740 A1 discloses a device for separating twin hoses. A through-hole serving as a guide for the hose is provided, and a separating device in the form of a fixed cutting edge is arranged in the through-hole at the level of the connecting web of the hoses. Here, too, considerable force is required to push or pull the hose through the through-hole and separate it.
[0007] It is the object of the invention to provide a device for separating a twin or multiple hose which enables simple and safe separation.
[0008] This object is achieved according to the invention by a device having the features of claim 1.
[0009] Preferred embodiments of the invention and further advantageous features are defined in the dependent claims.
[0010] The device according to the invention for separating a twin or multiple hose comprises a lower part and an upper part, between which the twin or multiple hose to be separated can be inserted. The upper part can be advanced onto the lower part in such a way that at least one guide roller arranged in the upper part can be placed onto a connecting web between the individual hoses of the twin or multiple hose to be separated and can be unrolled there. By means of a separating device in the form of a rotatably mounted circular blade, which can be advanced onto the connecting web between the individual hoses of the hose to be separated, the twin or multiple hose can be separated into individual hoses of any desired length.
[0011] The rotating cutting blade allows for easy cutting of the hoses without much effort, so usually only one person is required for the operation. The cutting height of the circular blade is adjustable. The cutting process can be further simplified by having the rotating circular blade motorized.
[0012] Preferably, the circular blade is spring-mounted in a blade head and can be moved towards and away from the twin or multiple hose by means of a clamping lever.
[0013] The device makes it possible to carry out the cutting process quickly and easily at any position on the hose without having to modify the device.
[0014] The hose is positioned relative to the cutting blade by at least one integrated guide roller. This ensures a very high level of safety during the cutting process, preventing damage to the hose's sheath.
[0015] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the guide roller can be motor-driven. This reduces the force required to move the hose through the cutting device.
[0016] Preferably, support rollers are arranged on the lower part to support the twin or multiple hose in order to reduce the frictional resistance of the twin or multiple hose being guided through.
[0017] The width of the hose support can be adjusted to the width of the hose to be severed using adjustable side guides, allowing both twin and multiple hoses with different diameters to be severed with the device. To increase safety, support surfaces with side guides for the hose are installed in the supply and discharge sections.
[0018] Likewise, the distance between the lower and upper parts can be adjusted using an adjusting screw and adapted to the hose size.
[0019] A preferred embodiment of the invention is described in more detail with reference to the drawings. Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of the separating device Fig. 2 shows a side view of the separating device Fig. 3 shows a rear view of the separator Fig. 4 shows a front view of the separator
[0020] The separating device according to the invention for twin or multiple hoses consists of a lower part 1 and an upper part 2. The upper part is resiliently mounted on the lower part 2 by means of guide pins 7 and compression springs 8. The distance between the upper part 2 and the lower part 1 can be adjusted by means of an adjusting screw 14.
[0021] The twin or multiple hose 13 to be separated is inserted into a space between the lower part 1 and the upper part 2, preferably resting on a front support surface 3 and a rear support surface 4. Support rollers 11 can preferably be arranged in the lower part 1 to reduce the frictional resistance of the hose 13 moving through the device.
[0022] The front and rear support surfaces 3, 4 have side guides 9, the mutual spacing of which is adjustable and can be fixed using a locking screw. The mutual spacing of the side guides 9 can be adjusted to the width of the inserted twin or multiple hose 13.
[0023] The distance between the lower part 1 and the upper part is adjusted by means of the adjusting screw 14 to the height of the twin or multiple hose 13 to be separated.
[0024] One or more rotatably mounted guide rollers 12 are arranged in the upper part 2. The twin or multiple hose to be severed is inserted into the device in such a way that the guide roller 12 rests on the connecting section 17 between two hoses and can roll there. In this way, the hose to be severed is guided precisely in the axial direction.
[0025] A rotatably mounted circular knife 6 is arranged in axial alignment of the guide rollers 12 and is secured in a knife head 5. The knife head 5 is spring-mounted in the upper part 2 by means of compression springs 8 and can be moved toward and away from the hose surface by means of a tensioning lever 15.
[0026] To cut a twin or multiple hose 13, the hose is placed into the device via the front support surface 3 and then inserted into the device until the length of the section of the twin or multiple hose 13 to be cut corresponds to the distance between the cutting blade 6 and the inserted end of the twin or multiple hose 13.
[0027] The twin or multiple hose is inserted such that the upper guide rollers 12 rest on the connecting section 17 between the individual hoses to be separated. Using the adjusting screw 14, the upper part 2 is lowered toward the lower part 1 until the guide rollers 12 press onto the upper side of the connecting section 17 between the individual hoses and can roll there.
[0028] The twin or multiple hose 13 rests on the front and rear support surfaces 3, 4, whereby the side guides 9 are adjusted to the width of the twin or multiple hose 13 by means of the fixing screws 10.
[0029] Using the clamping lever 15, the cutter head 5 is lowered toward the twin or multiple hose 13, so that the cutting blade 6 cuts into the connecting section 17 between the individual hoses. By pulling the twin or multiple hose 13 out of the device, the connecting section 17 of the twin or multiple hose is severed, resulting in individual hoses, which allows for easy assembly of the connecting fittings. For multiple hoses, the cutting process may need to be repeated several times.
[0030] The lower part 1 can comprise a clamping receptacle 16, by means of which the device can be clamped in a vice or a clamping system.
