Description

[0001] Various designs of stands and support arms for display and control devices such as notebooks and monitors are known for wall mounting or for placing on tables. There are also stands with variable operator-oriented spatial positions and inclinations towards the control and display side of the notebook. Stands for projectors for image reproduction in front of an audience are also well known. These devices are not sufficiently robust for use in harsh outdoor conditions or in a workshop environment when using a notebook with a keyboard section, and their design is unsuitable for this purpose. Also known are larger commercially available camera tripods in so-called heavy-duty versions for over 2-8 kg, which would be sufficiently stable for permanent and safe use on uneven terrain and floors. They can allow for flexibly adjustable operating and display heights for seated or standing operation. However, these lack a support section for carrying notebooks. The task is therefore to design a support for display and control devices such as notebooks that can be mounted on common heavy-duty camera tripods. This support must be designed to prevent slipping and thus the risk of damage to the notebook. The support must also include a fastening system that is compatible with standard camera mounting clips. The arrangement should ensure that the notebook on the tripod is not tilted by acting forces, thus ensuring stability. Furthermore, the notebook must be protected in the event of the tripod tipping over to prevent damage. Protective features should be provided to counteract this risk of accidents.

[0002] In an advantageous embodiment, as shown in Figure 1, the support plate (1) is made from sufficiently strong 1-4 mm thin sheet metal, for example light metal, with suitable surface dimensions that are at least 1 cm larger than the usual external dimensions of notebooks, such as slightly over 17 inches. This has firmly attached side walls (2a) to (2d) with a height of 1.5 cm, which prevent the notebook standing on it from slipping off during use. These must be attached at least at the corners and are at least 1.5 cm long. They are arranged in such a way that the plug connections, which are usually located on the sides of the notebook, are not covered. This means that the lower side wall can usually be continuous outside of the plug connections, which also serves as protection in the hand area if the corners are touched. To ensure the stability of the support plate (1), a central section (2b) of at least 10 cm in length is attached to the upper side wall. The support part is connected to the tripod (10), as shown in Figure 4, via a fastening part (3) attached from below, which has a centrally located ¼ inch threaded hole (4) for a very common camera clip on the tripod (10). To prevent the notebook from falling out of the storage space if the tripod tips over, detachable and reconnectable elastic, dampening retaining straps (5) and (6), e.g. made of Velcro, are attached to the support plate, as shown in Figure 3. These are arranged around the edges so that they do not cover the keyboard. For this purpose, an upper retaining strap (5) extending all the way to the lateral side walls (2c) is arranged directly on the upper edge in the area of the pivot point of the display part (12) as shown in Figure 3. Another lower retaining strap (6) is arranged directly on the lower side wall and covers the entire lateral extent of the keyboard part (13) (Figure 5).In one version, this lower section can also be designed in two symmetrical sections (6a) and (6b) as shown in Figure 2, which span the keyboard section at an angle. The retaining straps are preferably attached externally to the underside of the device. To protect the notebook, in another version, its contact surfaces can be designed with anti-slip, elastic, and dampening wear protection strips (8) arranged over the entire surface in the receiving space at the contact zones of the sides, as shown in Figure 2. To avoid hindering the cooling of the notebook on the underside, symmetrical triangular pairings can be attached to the support plate (1) at the top and bottom and laterally arranged around the center, thus creating a diagonally braced, stable frame as shown in Figure 1.As a further safeguard against damage to the notebook, the elastic damping retaining straps (5) and (6) can completely span the side corners and additional shock protection strips (9) can be attached to the lower and upper corners of the side walls as in Figure 4, which mitigate the impact in the event of tipping.

[0003] The carrier according to the invention advantageously enables the safe and stable extended use of valuable display and control devices, such as notebooks, in harsh environments. It also allows for the resource-efficient use of existing heavy-duty camera tripods. Several features implement preventative protective functions, such as protecting against hazards caused by tripods tipping over. Summary:

[0004] The carrier (14) according to the invention, shown in all images as in Figure 5, serves to securely, stably, and robustly accommodate display and control devices such as notebooks (11) for attachment to common heavy-duty camera tripods (10) using the fastening part (3) with the threaded hole (4) (Figure 4) for use in harsh environments. For this purpose, side walls (2) are attached piece by piece to a carrier plate (1) in the holder, which do not cover the usual plug areas of the devices. To ensure the cooling function of a notebook, the carrier plate has recesses (7). In the upper and lower edge area of the keyboard parts, securing straps (5), (6) are attached to the carrier in the event of a tipping event; these do not cover the keyboard. In addition, wear-protection strips (8) are attached to the inside corner areas of the side walls.Furthermore, the retaining straps are attached to cover the sides in corner areas from the outside and further impact protection strips (9) are attached to the side walls from below and above.
