AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing conversion systems for small children's rolling cars into sled-like vehicles often require complex assembly and may not securely attach the wheels to the toboggan runners, leading to instability and ease of detachment.

Method used

A plastic attachment component that uses an elastic clamping mechanism to securely attach the wheels of rolling cars to the toboggan runners, mimicking the shape of a bowl and providing a secure fit without the need for lashing or complex assembly.

Benefits of technology

The attachment component effectively converts rolling cars into sled-like vehicles by providing a secure and stable connection between the wheels and toboggan runners, preventing accidental detachment and ensuring safe use by small children.

Description

[0001] The invention is a clip-on component for small children's ride-on cars such as Bobby Car©, Rolly Toys©, or similar, hereinafter referred to as sled runners, which allows them to be converted into a sled-like vehicle in just a few simple steps. The conversion is achieved by force-fitting the runners onto the wheels.

[0002] The entire toboggan runners are made of plastic and consist of a ski-like runner with wheel mounts. The wheel mounts are either permanently attached to the runners (made from a single piece) or subsequently mounted.

[0003] A set of toboggan runners includes one pair of these runners (i.e. 2 runners).

[0004] The frictional connection of the wheel mount is based on an elastic clamping 6 of the wheel, which differs from other similarly designed products that are lashed over the wheel using a strap. The invention applied for here does not involve any lashing to the wheel.

[0005] The clamp follows the shape of the wheel profile ⑤, similar to a shell, and encloses it at an angle greater than 180° ②. To attach the sled runners, the wheels of the toboggan are placed on top of the profile shell and pressed into the clamp with a little pressure. The component is designed so elastically that it expands slightly, allowing the wheel to slide in, then contracts again, clamping the wheel securely. This grips the wheel so tightly that it cannot be pulled out of the profile shell without considerable force (approximately 10 kg).

Claims

[1] Attachable toboggan runners for various toddler ride-on vehicles [2] Attachable toboggan runners according to claim 1 characterized by that the clamping of the wheels consists of a one-piece shell-shaped wheel holder with a circumference angle of more than 180° ②; referred to as elastic clamping. [3] Attachable toboggan runners according to claims 1 and 2 characterized by that the runners consist of one piece with the wheel mount or can be connected to the wheel mount as a separate component (e.g. screwed). [4] Attachable toboggan runners according to claims 1, 2 and 3 characterized by That the runners consist of one long piece or two shorter, separate pieces, allowing the front runners to be steered. The separation point is indicated by the dashed line 4.
