Abstract
Description
Technical background
[0001] Particularly in the plumbing sector, but also in other technical fields, socket plugs are used to completely or partially close pipe ends that are fitted with a socket. Typical applications include closing off decommissioned and (partially) dismantled branches of a building's drainage system. Socket plugs prevent the unwanted escape of odors and wastewater from the drainage system into the interior of the building. Furthermore, legal regulations in many places require that the attachment of a socket plug to a socket withstands at least a certain pressure against a possible backflow of water, such as that which can occur during flooding, sewer damage, or a blockage in the drainage system, and which acts on the socket plug against the direction of flow.
[0002] It is known to structurally secure a socket plug attached to a socket, for example by encasing it in concrete, enclosing it in brickwork, and / or mechanically supporting it against a nearby building structure. Screwable sleeves are also known that can be slipped over a socket together with the socket plug and screwed shut in an area located on the pipe side of the socket to support the screwed-in sleeve against the socket. Such techniques require a significant amount of material and / or tools. Furthermore, such techniques often require a large amount of space around the socket and the socket to be completely exposed. If this is not possible, or if other restrictions exist, a pipe branch connected to the socket must sometimes be completely removed, which requires considerable effort, material, and time.
[0003] Similar problems arise with socket plugs that partially close a pipe end, for example, by reducing the diameter of the pipe opening, in fluid systems subject to pressure. This is the case, for example, with the line pressure in a water pipe system.
[0004] A technique is desirable that allows improved securing of a socket plug to a socket. Summary of Revelation
[0005] The problem is solved by a safety clasp according to claim 1.
[0006] Accordingly, a securing clasp for securing a socket plug, which is arranged on a socket of a pipe in order to at least partially close an opening in the socket, comprises at least one clasp arm. The at least one clasp arm is designed to be initially elastically moved from a basic position of the clasp arm when the securing clasp is applied to a pipe and to be elastically moved back towards the basic position when an attachment position of the securing clasp on the pipe is reached. The at least one clasp arm is further designed to at least partially surround the pipe along a circumferential direction on the pipe side adjacent to a socket of the pipe in order to support the securing clasp with respect to the socket. The safety clasp further comprises at least one retaining bracket which is connected to the at least one clasp arm and which is designed to support a sleeve plug, which is arranged at an opening of the sleeve, with respect to the at least one clasp arm in the attachment position.
[0007] Such a securing clip, in particular by means of at least one elastic clip arm, enables simplified attachment and, if necessary, removal of the securing clip from the pipe for the purpose of securing the socket plug, in particular tool-free attachment. This eliminates the need for a screw connection, as is provided for in the case of screwable sleeves. The effort and need for additional tools for attaching the securing clip can thus be reduced. Furthermore, the need for additional building material and its processing, as is necessary when encasing a closed socket in concrete or bricking it in, is eliminated. In this respect, too, the effort and need for additional material for attaching the securing clip can be reduced.
[0008] In addition, such a safety clip allows the safety clip to be attached to the pipe from one access direction to the pipe, in particular by slipping the safety clip on from the access direction, without having to allow access to the pipe from another direction, as is necessary with screwable sleeves. The effort and / or tool requirements that would be required to expose a socket over a large area, particularly in the case of a pipe that is partially or completely encased in concrete or walled in, can be reduced in this way. This is particularly advantageous when closing a dismantled drain beneath the floor slab of a building, where securing a socket plug is required by law in many places and where sufficiently exposing the socket to attach a securing device for the socket plug usually requires considerable effort.Securing a socket plug is required by law in many places for disused drains located below the building's backflow level, which is usually defined by street level. This makes the use of the safety clamp particularly advantageous for dismantled drains below the building's floor slab.
[0009] The securing clip can comprise several, in particular exactly two, clip arms. The clip arms can extend substantially in opposite directions relative to the at least one retaining bracket and can be configured to at least partially surround the pipe in opposite directions parallel to the circumferential direction in the mounting position.
[0010] The safety clasp may have a connecting region. The at least one clasp arm and the at least one retaining bracket may each extend from the connecting region.
[0011] The at least one retaining bracket can be designed to surround the sleeve along an axial direction of the pipe in the mounting position.
[0012] The securing clip may be configured to allow attachment of the securing clip to the pipe by moving the securing clip relative to the pipe, wherein the movement occurs exclusively parallel to a radial direction of the pipe.
[0013] This allows the securing clip to be attached, in particular plugged, to the pipe from a radial, i.e., lateral, direction, particularly without requiring access to the pipe from another direction. This allows for simplified handling of the securing clip and reduced effort for appropriately preparing the area surrounding the pipe.
[0014] The safety clasp can be designed to secure the socket plug against unwanted detachment of the socket plug from the pipe socket. The safety clasp can be designed to secure the socket plug against unwanted detachment from the pipe socket at a pipe pressure of at least 1.5 bar, preferably at least 2 bar, more preferably at least 5 bar, present in the pipe.
[0015] The material of the safety clasp can comprise plastic and / or metal. The safety clasp can be made predominantly, in particular entirely, of plastic. Alternatively, the safety clasp can be made predominantly, in particular entirely, of metal. This facilitates simplified production of the safety clasp, particularly as a (e.g., injection-molded) part. Manufacturing the safety clasp predominantly, in particular entirely, of metal promotes stability.
[0016] The pipe may be a sanitary pipe. Additionally or alternatively, one or more dimensions of the pipe, the socket plug, and / or an arrangement of the socket plug on the socket may conform to a predetermined size standard, particularly an industry standard for sanitary pipes.
[0017] The outer diameter of the pipe can range between 20 and 300 millimeters, especially between 40 and 150 millimeters.
[0018] The socket plug may be designed to completely close the socket opening.
[0019] Alternatively, the socket plug can be designed to partially close the opening of the socket. The socket plug can have an opening that is smaller than the opening of the socket. The socket plug can be a connection socket plug, and the opening of the socket plug can be a connection opening, in particular for connecting a device to which the socket plug is attached to a pressurizable piping system. The device can be a washing machine and / or a dishwasher, and / or the piping system can be a water pipe system.
[0020] Additionally or alternatively, the at least one retaining bracket of the securing clip can be designed such that it extends away from a connection area of the socket plug when the securing clip is attached to the pipe to secure the socket plug. This facilitates handling for attaching the securing clip and / or for connecting the socket plug to a piping system.
[0021] In the context of the present disclosure, the term "sleeve" may refer to any type of sleeve, flange, or other widening on an outer side of the pipe in the region of an opening, in particular at a pipe end, which allows the securing clip to be supported by means of the at least one clip arm for securing a plug in the manner presented here.
[0022] According to a further aspect, a system for closing an opening in a pipe socket is presented. The system comprises a securing clip of the type presented here and a socket plug. The securing clip is designed to secure the socket plug when the socket plug is arranged on a pipe socket in order to at least partially close an opening in the socket. Brief description of the drawings
[0023] Further features and advantages are illustrated by the drawings and detailed description. They show: Fig. 1 a safety clasp according to an example, and Fig. 2 a usage scenario of a safety clasp according to an example. Detailed description of the revelation
[0024] Fig. Figure 1 shows a schematic and exemplary illustration of a securing clip 100 for securing a socket plug. The securing clip 100 comprises two clip arms 110, 112. The clip arms 110, 112 extend from a connecting region 130 of the securing clip 100. The securing clip 100 also comprises a retaining bracket 120. The retaining bracket 120 extends from the connecting region 130 substantially perpendicular to a plane in which the clip arms 110, 112 extend.
[0025] The clip arms 110, 112 extend from the connecting area 130 essentially in opposite directions, i.e., on opposite sides of the connecting area 130. The shape of the clip arms 110, 112 is selected such that they form a receptacle for a pipe onto which the safety clip 100 can be plugged. To facilitate plugging the safety clip 100 onto a pipe, each of the clip arms 110, 112 has a clip arm end 114, 116, which together form an opening in the receptacle for the pipe. The clip arms 110, 112 are provided to facilitate plugging the safety clip 100 in the direction of the opening of the receptacle, as shown in Fig. 1 as shown in direction D. The direction D runs parallel to a radial direction of the pipe.
[0026] In the example shown, the clasp arms 110, 112 are bent outward in a funnel-like manner in the area of the clasp arm ends 114, 116. This facilitates attaching the safety clasp 100 to a pipe.
[0027] The clip arms 110, 112 are elastically designed. The shape of the clip arms 110, 112 is selected such that the distance between the clip arms 110, 112 in the region of the clip arm ends 114, 116, i.e., in the region of the opening of the pipe receptacle, is less than the intended diameter of the pipe and is also less than the distance between the clip arms 110, 112 in an area of the securing clip 100 intended for receiving the pipe when the securing clip 100 is attached to the pipe.
[0028] To attach the safety clip 100 to the pipe, the safety clip 100 is attached to the pipe along the direction D from the radial, i.e. lateral, direction of the pipe.
[0029] The clip arms 110, 112 are initially moved elastically outwards from their basic position by the pipe. Upon further movement of the safety clip 100 in the direction D, the attachment position of the safety clip on the pipe is then reached, i.e. the pipe is positioned in the area of the receptacle provided for the pipe between the clip arms 110, 112, wherein the clip arms 110, 112 are elastically moved back towards their basic position due to their elasticity and the shape shown. Due to the reduced distance between the clip arm ends 114, 116 compared to a diameter of the pipe, the safety clip 100 is elastically stabilized in the attachment position on the pipe in the radial direction, i.e. parallel to the direction D.
[0030] The retaining bracket 120 is provided for securing a socket plug, which is arranged at an opening, for example partially in an opening, of a socket of the pipe to close the opening, in its position relative to the socket. For this purpose, the retaining bracket 120 is designed to support the socket plug against the socket when the securing clip 100 is attached to the pipe in the attachment position. For this purpose, the retaining bracket 120 has an axial section 122 and a holding section 124. The axial section 122 is dimensioned such that it extends around the socket in the axial direction of the pipe. The clip arms 110, 112 rest against a pipe-side end face of the socket. The holding section 124 protrudes beyond the opening of the socket on the opening side and extends parallel to the radial direction of the pipe along an extension of the socket plug attached to the opening of the socket. As described below in connection with Fig. As described in more detail in Figure 2, the retaining bracket 120 supports the socket plug relative to the clamp arms 110, 112 against any possible movement out of the socket opening, i.e., in an axial direction of the pipe. The clamp arms 110, 112 also support the retaining bracket 120 relative to the socket against any possible movement in the same axial direction of the pipe, i.e., corresponding to a movement of the socket plug out of the opening. The socket plug is thereby held or secured to the opening of the socket.
[0031] As described above, the securing clip 100 allows attachment of the securing clip 100 to a pipe from a lateral direction, i.e., parallel to a radial direction of the pipe, according to direction D. Attaching the securing clip 100 to the pipe does not require access to the pipe from another direction. This facilitates attachment of the securing clip 100 in many practical situations, for example, when a pipe is not completely exposed in the area of the socket, but is partially encased in concrete, walled in, and / or adjacent to building structures.
[0032] In some examples, the safety clasp 100 comprises metal. In some of these examples, the safety clasp 100 is formed entirely of metal, for example, as a metal casting.
[0033] Fig. Figure 2 shows schematically and exemplarily a usage scenario 200 for a safety clasp 100 according to one or more of the examples presented here. Identical parts of the Fig. 2 shown safety clip 100 as in Fig. 1 are provided with the same reference numerals.
[0034] Fig. 2 shows the securing clip 100 in an attachment position of the securing clip 100 on a pipe R. In the attachment position shown, the securing clip 100 secures a socket plug S arranged at an opening O, in the example shown partially in the opening O, of a socket M of the pipe R in order to close the opening O. In the attachment position shown, the securing clip 100 secures the socket plug S against unwanted loosening of the socket plug S from the opening O of the socket M along an axial direction A of the pipe R.
[0035] As in Fig. 2, the clamp arm 110 rests along a circumferential direction U of the pipe R on the outside of the pipe R, adjacent to the socket M. The clamp arm 110 thus supports the securing clamp 100, including the retaining bracket 120, and thereby the socket plug S with respect to the socket M against movement along the axial direction A.
[0036] The axial section of the retaining protrusion 120 is dimensioned such that it extends around the socket M along the axial direction A. For this purpose, in some examples, a length of the axial section of the retaining protrusion 120 is selected according to a predetermined axial length of the socket M. This is advantageous because standardized dimensions of pipes, including pipe sockets, are used in many practically relevant applications. The same applies to a dimension of the retaining bracket 120 and its holding area, as well as to a dimension of the socket plug S and its position at the opening O of the socket M. In many practically relevant applications, the dimensions of socket plugs and their position when closing a socket opening are standardized. This facilitates the provision of the securing clip 100 with suitable dimensions for such applications. This applies in many cases to sanitary pipes, and also to pipes in various other technical fields.
[0037] In some examples, an outer diameter of the pipe R is between 20 and 300 millimeters, in particular between 40 and 150 millimeters.
[0038] As in Fig. 2, as shown schematically by the vertical arrow, the securing clip 100 is attached in the direction D, which is aligned parallel to a radial direction of the pipe R. This means that in the example shown, the securing clip 100 is attached to the pipe R from the lateral direction.
[0039] The preceding examples of a safety clip are described in connection with plumbing pipes. However, it is understood that the same or similar advantages of a safety clip of the type described can also be achieved in other applications and / or in connection with other pipe types.
