Abstract

Auxiliary device for stapling books, comprising: i) a frame 101 constructed with a pair of horizontal elements 102 connected to each other via a plate 103 manufactured with a permanent magnet, designed to be positioned over pages of a book to be stapled together, wherein the pair of L-shaped links 104, each attached with a suction cup 105, are configured with the elements 102 to secure the frame 101 to the pages; ii) a microphone 106 positioned on the frame 101 to enable a user to give voice commands to staple the pages together, wherein a microcontroller connected to the microphone 106 processes the voice commands and activates an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 107 paired with a processor installed on the frame 101 to capture and process multiple images of the book in order to detect the orientation of the frame 101 in relation to the spine of the book; iii) a holographic projection unit 108 installed on the platform, wherein the microcontroller, based on the detected orientation of the frame 101, activates the projection unit 108 to project a hologram in order to accurately align the frame 101 with respect to the sides; iv) a telescopically actuated gripper 109, which is installed on one of the elements 102 and is actuated by the microcontroller to retrieve a clamp pin from a chamber 112 attached to one of the elements 102, wherein the gripper 109 adheres the pin to a first elongated unit 201, which is connected between a hollow body 111 arranged between the elements 102, by means of a primary electromagnet; and v) a second elongated unit 202 connected between the body 111 and equipped with a secondary electromagnet actuated by the microcontroller to generate a repulsive attraction between the secondary electromagnet, as a result of which the second unit slides through a pair of sliders 203 configured on the elements 102 and strikes the first unit, causing the first unit to slide through the sliders 203 to insert the pin into the pages, thereby stapling the pages.

Claims

[1] Auxiliary device for stapling books, comprising: i) a frame 101 constructed with a pair of horizontal elements 102 connected to each other via a plate 103 made with a permanent magnet, designed to be positioned over pages of a book to be stapled together, the pair of L-shaped members 104, each attached with a suction cup 105, being configured with the elements 102 to fix the frame 101 to the pages; ii) a microphone 106 positioned on the frame 101 to enable a user to give voice commands to staple the pages together, wherein a microcontroller connected to the microphone 106 processes the voice commands and activates an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 107 paired with a processor installed on the frame 101 to capture and process a plurality of images of the book to detect the orientation of the frame 101 with respect to the spine of the book; iii) a holographic projection unit 108 installed on the platform, wherein the microcontroller, based on the detected orientation of the frame 101, activates the projection unit 108 to project a hologram to accurately align the frame 101 with respect to the sides; iv) a telescopically actuated gripper 109 installed on one of the elements 102 and actuated by the microcontroller to retrieve a staple pin from a chamber 112 mounted on one of the elements 102, the gripper 109 attaching the pin to a first elongated unit 201 connected between a hollow body 111 arranged between the elements 102 by means of a primary electromagnet; and v) a second elongated unit 202 connected between the body 111 and equipped with a secondary electromagnet actuated by the microcontroller to generate a repulsive attractive force between the secondary electromagnet, due to which the second unit slides through a pair of sliders 203 configured on the elements 102 and impacts the first unit, causing the first unit to slide through the sliders 203 to insert the pin into the pages, thereby stapling the pages. [2] The device of claim 1, wherein an ultrasonic sensor is configured with the frame 101 and synchronized with the imaging unit 107 to detect the thickness of the book, wherein the microcontroller controls the excitation of the secondary electromagnet for penetrating the pen into the pages in accordance with the detected thickness. [3] The device of claim 1, wherein the microcontroller stops operation of the primary electromagnet to release the pin after insertion of the pin into the pages as detected by the imaging unit 107. [4] The device of claim 1, wherein the microcontroller actuates an extendable flap 110 connected to one of the elements 102 to extend and position itself under the sides with respect to the folded pointed ends of the pin. [5] The device of claim 1, wherein a battery is connected to the device to power electrical and electronically operated components connected to the device.
