Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a bicycle mounting bracket for attaching a bicycle to a ceiling structure. TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
[0002] Bicycle repair and maintenance is a constant problem for many cyclists. Minor repairs and maintenance can usually be performed by the owner themselves, but this often poses a space issue, as the bike needs to be accessible from all sides, often blocking a large portion of the available space, or even making it unavailable. Furthermore, it is often preferable or necessary for the bike to be off the ground in order to be able to perform certain work on it.
[0003] For this reason, several bike mounting brackets have been considered that can be installed on the floor of the room if necessary. They are usually simply placed on the floor and hold the bike above the ground. However, these bike mounting brackets are often very cumbersome and lead to the space problems already discussed above, as they block a large portion of the room. Furthermore, there is a risk of the bike mounting bracket tipping over, as it is usually not firmly attached to the floor.
[0004] For this reason, bicycle mounting brackets have been considered, which are firmly attached to the wall of the room and then hold the bike above the floor. However, even here, the space problem still arises, as an entire corner of the room or a large part of one edge of the room is taken up by the bicycle mounting bracket. Furthermore, access to the bike from all sides is often not possible, as the wall blocks or impedes access on at least one side. UNDERLYING TASK
[0005] Accordingly, the object of the invention is to create a possibility with which a bicycle can be kept in a room in a more space-saving manner for assembly. THE INVENTIVE SOLUTION
[0006] The underlying problem is solved according to the invention by a bicycle mounting bracket having the features of claim 1.
[0007] For this purpose, a bicycle mounting bracket is proposed for attaching a bicycle to a ceiling structure. This ceiling structure can, for example, be the actual room ceiling or a substructure below the ceiling. This bicycle mounting bracket comprises a base body with an adjoining main tube, whereby the base body itself is fixed, preferably screwed, to the ceiling structure. In addition, the bicycle mounting bracket comprises a telescopic tube which is inserted into the main tube. The telescopic tube has a T-piece at its lower end, which receives a support arm, which in turn has a clamp at one of its free ends that holds the frame of the bicycle. This provides a simple, space-saving, individually adjustable, and secure system for mounting a bicycle to a ceiling structure. This provides a space-saving and secure solution for bicycle repair and maintenance, especially indoors, while allowing easy access to the bike from all sides. Mounting the bike mounting bracket in or near the center of the room is preferred.
[0008] Mounting the bike to the ceiling also frees up valuable floor space while allowing for neat and organized work, especially in rooms with limited space. OPTIONAL TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
[0009] Ideally, the telescopic tube and main tube should not only be telescopically adjustable, but also able to be secured to each other with a quick release and additionally with a screw or pin. This leads to a significant increase in comfort and safety when adjusting the height: the bike to be held is hooked in, then the telescopic tube is pushed into the main tube with one hand, lifting the bike if necessary, until the bike is standing securely or even hanging. Now the quick release is fully or partially pressed shut with the other hand. Now the quick release can be lowered and / or turned a little more by carefully adjusting the quick release until the through holes required to set the pin-like safety device are sufficiently aligned. The quick release is then closed and the pin-like safety device is set.If the quick release is later released carelessly or by a child, nothing can happen thanks to the locking pin. Quite the opposite: activating the locking pin serves as a sure reminder to the person activating it that the quick release must now be activated carefully to prevent an uncontrolled fall. Ideally, the quick release is designed so that, with careful and attentive partial release, it can be used as a brake to lower a suspended bicycle.
[0010] In other words, a preferred embodiment consists in the telescopic tube having a plurality of through-holes which are aligned in at least one position with at least one through-hole in the main tube, whereby a locking pin penetrates both the telescopic tube and the main tube, thus securing them against relative axial displacement to one another. In this way, axial securing is achieved in a simple manner. A "through-hole" in the sense of the invention throughout the application is a hole in the respective tube which runs radially through the entire tube and intersects the wall of the tube twice. The telescopic tube preferably has a through-hole on each of several levels and therefore preferably at different heights, particularly preferably at equal distances from one another.
[0011] Furthermore, it is particularly preferred if the at least one through-hole of the main pipe is located in the region of the free end of the main pipe facing away from the base body. "In the region of the free end" is achieved within the meaning of the invention when the at least one through-hole is located at least in the last eighth, particularly preferably at least in the last tenth, of the main pipe - based on the total length of the main pipe.
[0012] Furthermore, it is particularly preferred if the telescopic tube carries the T-piece at its free end facing away from the base body, which is secured with a clamping screw lock and / or an additional through-bolt. "Clamping screw lock" in the sense of the invention is a clamp-like device that surrounds the respective tube and clamps the tube increasingly tightly as the screw is further screwed in.
[0013] A “through screw” in the sense of the invention is preferably at least one screw and / or one pin and / or one bolt which passes through a through hole in a radially secured manner on both sides.
[0014] Furthermore, it is preferred if the bicycle mounting bracket has at least one lever in the manner of a screwable quick release, with which pivoting of the main tube relative to the base body can be released or blocked. This design is generally implemented such that the bicycle mounting bracket can be folded upwards when not in use to save space, ideally flat against the ceiling, and / or the bicycle can be positioned at a certain angle during assembly. A "lever" within the meaning of the invention is therefore an entire mechanism and not just the operating lever of the mechanism. The "lever" is preferably designed in the manner of a screwable quick release, analogous to a hub quick release on a bicycle.
[0015] The retaining claw for the bicycle frame is particularly preferably designed as a clamp with an ideally rigidly mounted lower claw and a relatively pivoting upper claw. Ideally, the two claws are penetrated by a quick-release fastener, allowing them to be easily moved toward each other like a clamp and then securely clamped against the frame.
[0016] Further modes of operation, advantages and design options emerge from the figure-based description of the embodiment. LIST OF FIGURES The Fig. 1 shows an assembled bicycle mounting bracket in three-dimensional view. The Fig. 2 shows a detailed view of the bicycle mounting bracket at the transition between the main tube and the telescopic tube. The Fig. 3 shows a detailed view of the bicycle mounting bracket in the area of the clamp. The Fig. 4 shows a detailed view of the bicycle mounting bracket in the area of the base body with the main tube pivoted. The Fig. 5 shows a section of the bicycle mounting bracket with attached tool holder. PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0017] The Fig. 1 to Fig. 5 show the preferred embodiment of the bicycle mounting bracket 1.
[0018] The bicycle mounting bracket 1 comprises a base body 2 with a connecting main tube 3, wherein the base body 2 is fixed, preferably screwed, to the ceiling structure. For this purpose, the base body 2 preferably comprises two tabs (see Fig. 4), which form an additional support surface on the ceiling structure and each preferably has a hole for fastening with a screw. The remaining base body 2 also preferably has a support surface with the ceiling structure, preferably also with at least two holes for fastening with a screw to the ceiling structure. At least the end of the main pipe 3 is preferably received by the base body 2.
[0019] The base body 2 and the main tube 3 are movably connected to each other, preferably pivotably connected to each other, to ensure flexible adjustment of the angle of the main tube 3 relative to the ceiling; especially to allow the main tube 3 and the structures connected to the main tube 3 to be folded against the ceiling when not in use. The rotation axis is preferably formed by a through-bolt 11, which also serves as a connection between the base body 2 and the main tube 3.
[0020] The base body 2 comprises at least one arcuate, preferably circular, cutout 8, preferably one cutout 8 on each side of the parallel base body sides. These cutouts 8 enable a targeted and guided pivoting of the main pipe 3 relative to the base body 2 (pivoted state see Fig. 4). For this purpose, the bicycle mounting bracket 1 has at least one lever 12 in the manner of a screwable quick-release, the axis of which also serves as a guide axis within the cutouts 8. By actuating the lever 12 and adjusting the screw position accordingly, the pivoting of the main tube 3 relative to the base body 2 can also be enabled or disabled.
[0021] The base body 2 also has at least one through-hole 2a for receiving a locking pin 9. In the case of the exemplary embodiment, this runs through both parallel sides of the base body. The locking pin 9 is preferably a socket pin with a cotter pin hole and associated spring pin. For better clarity, the locking pin 9 is not shown in the inserted state in the figures. This locking pin 9 serves as a safeguard against the main pipe 3 folding down when it is folded onto the ceiling structure, preferably parallel to the ceiling structure after completion of the work.
[0022] The bicycle mounting bracket 1 also comprises a telescopic tube 4, which is inserted into the main tube 3. The telescopic tube 4 preferably has a plurality of through holes 4a, which are aligned in at least one position with at least one through hole 3a of the main tube 3 (see Fig. 2). A locking pin 9 penetrates both the telescopic tube 4 and the main tube 3, thus preventing relative axial displacement. It is preferred that only one locking pin 9 be used on the entire bicycle mounting bracket 1, which is located in the through holes 3a and 4a during work on the bicycle and in the through hole 2a after completion and folding of the main tube 3 toward the ceiling.
[0023] For this purpose, the main pipe 3 has at least two, preferably exactly four, through holes 3a distributed symmetrically around the circumference of the main pipe 3, which are located in a plane of the main pipe 3 that is perpendicular to the axis of the main pipe 3 (see Fig. 2).
[0024] The at least one through hole 3a of the main tube 3 is located in the region of the free end of the main tube 3 facing away from the base body 2, preferably directly above a clamp which enables the clamping of the telescopic tube 4 in the main tube 3.
[0025] For this purpose, the bicycle mounting bracket 1 has at least one lever 12 in the manner of a screwable quick release, with which an axial displacement of the telescopic tube 4 in the main tube 3 can be at least partially released or blocked, wherein this lever 12 is attached in addition to a clamping screw lock 13 in the embodiment shown.
[0026] The telescopic tube 4 carries at its lower end a T-piece 5, which receives a support arm 6, which in turn carries at one of its free ends a clamp 7 that holds the frame of the bicycle (see Fig. 3).
[0027] In the illustrated embodiment, the T-piece 5 is secured to the telescopic tube 4 with a clamping screw lock 13 and an additional through-bolt 10. The clamping screw lock 13 in the T-piece 5 is preferably actuated by means of a three-star handle 14 (see Fig. 3).
[0028] The support arm 6 has a knurling 15 in the clamping area with the T-piece 5, which makes the clamping even stronger and makes axial slipping of the support arm 6 even less likely due to the additional friction. Fig. 3 this knurling 15 is indicated with oblique lines.
[0029] In the embodiment shown, the clamp 7 on the support arm 6 is secured by means of a clamping screw lock 13 and a through-bolt 17.
[0030] The clamp 7 itself is adjustable by means of a lever 12 – preferably in the form of a screwable quick-release lever with a spring – whereby the clamping force can be adjusted, and the bicycle frame can be clamped by actuating the lever 12. Preferably, the lever 12 or its threaded bolt has a wing nut with which the preload of the spring or the clamping force can be adjusted.
[0031] A tool holder 16 is preferably attached to the outside of the main pipe 3 (see Fig.5), which is preferably fixed to the main tube 3 in the form of a half-plate with screws. The shape of the half-plate is deliberately chosen so that the main tube 3 with its attachments can be folded upwards - towards the ceiling structure - after the work is completed and thus - with the correct rotation position - can remain on the main tube 3 after it has been completely folded upwards and thus does not collide with the ceiling structure.
