Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a load securing net for installation in a cargo space of a transport vehicle.
[0002] To prevent cargo, such as packages or other general goods, from shifting in the cargo area of a transport vehicle, the use of cargo securing nets is common. Cargo securing nets are typically made up of multiple webbing straps that extend crisscrossing each other. A first group of webbing straps extends between the side walls of the vehicle. These straps run essentially horizontally when the cargo securing net is installed in the cargo area of a transport vehicle. The second group of webbing straps extends essentially perpendicular to the straps of the first group. Thus, when the cargo securing net is installed in the cargo area of a transport vehicle, the straps of the second group extend essentially vertically from the floor of the cargo area to the ceiling of the cargo area.
[0003] The size of objects that can be restrained by a suitable cargo securing net depends on the mesh size of the net, which is determined by the crosswise arrangement of the webbing. The mesh size can be, for example, 15 cm or more. Objects with an edge length shorter than the mesh size cannot be effectively restrained by the cargo securing net. To effectively restrain smaller objects, the mesh size must be reduced by using more webbing and arranging the webbing closer together.
[0004] However, the number of webbing straps cannot be increased indefinitely for technical and economic reasons. To ensure the stability of the cargo securing net, the webbing straps must be sewn together. The greater the number of webbing straps that need to be sewn together, the more complex and costly the manufacturing process becomes. Therefore, producing cargo securing nets with small mesh sizes quickly becomes uneconomical. Furthermore, the weight of the cargo securing net increases significantly with the number of webbing straps, due to their high density.
[0005] Based on the prior art described above, the objective of the present application is to provide a load securing net that avoids at least some of the aforementioned disadvantages.
[0006] This task is solved by a load securing net according to claim 1. Preferred embodiments of the load securing net are the subject of the dependent claims.
[0007] According to the invention, a cargo securing net for installation in the cargo space of a transport vehicle is provided. The cargo securing net comprises at least four fastening fittings for attaching the cargo securing net to opposite side walls of the transport vehicle. Two of the at least four fastening fittings are provided for securing the cargo securing net to each of the opposite side walls. Furthermore, the cargo securing net comprises at least two webbing straps that extend parallel to each other between the opposite side walls when the cargo securing net is installed in the cargo space of a transport vehicle. Finally, the cargo securing net comprises a mesh fabric through which the webbing straps are connected and which is stretched between the webbing straps when the cargo securing net is installed in the cargo space of a transport vehicle.
[0008] In other words, the present invention relates to a cargo securing net in which, instead of a multitude of crossed straps, only a few straps extending parallel to each other are used. When the cargo securing net is installed in the cargo space of a transport vehicle, the straps preferably run exclusively horizontally, i.e., parallel to the floor of the cargo space.
[0009] According to the invention, the cargo securing net has at least two horizontally extending webbing straps that, in the installed state, define the cargo securing net's boundaries towards the floor and ceiling of the cargo space. These webbing straps can also be referred to as outer webbing straps. If more than two webbing straps are provided, the additional webbing straps run parallel to the two outer webbing straps and preferably at equal intervals distributed over the entire height of the cargo securing net. The additional webbing straps can also be referred to as center webbing straps.
[0010] At least four fastening fittings are provided for securing the cargo securing net in the cargo area. These fittings are compatible with the securing system installed in the cargo area of the respective transport vehicle. For example, the at least four fastening fittings could be end fittings for combination anchor rails or end fittings for airline rails.
[0011] To ensure uniform securing of the cargo securing net in the cargo area of the transport vehicle, the net is equipped with at least four fastening fittings, two of which are provided for attaching the net to each side wall. In other exemplary embodiments, more than two fastening fittings per side of the cargo securing net may be provided. For example, three, four, or more fastening fittings may be provided on each side, which can be secured in corresponding rails or other fastening systems on the side walls of the transport vehicle.
[0012] Finally, the cargo securing net features a mesh fabric that extends between at least the two outermost webbing straps. In other words, the mesh fabric is attached to the webbing straps; for example, it can be sewn, glued, and / or welded to them. When using only two webbing straps, the mesh fabric extends vertically between the upper and lower webbing straps. The upper and lower webbing straps thus tension the mesh fabric vertically when the cargo securing net is installed in the cargo area of a transport vehicle. If the cargo securing net has more than two webbing straps, the additional webbing straps extend parallel to the upper and lower webbing straps across the mesh fabric. The mesh fabric thus connects all the webbing straps together.
[0013] The advantageous use of a tear-resistant mesh fabric allows for significantly smaller mesh sizes than in the prior art, while also reducing weight. This is because the mesh size is not determined by the vertical and horizontal spacing of the webbing, but rather is an intrinsic property of the mesh fabric itself. Furthermore, compared to cargo securing nets known from the prior art, manufacturing is considerably simplified, as the mesh fabric only needs to be connected to the few horizontally running webbing straps. The complex sewing of the crosswise arranged webbing straps, as required in the prior art, is no longer necessary.
[0014] Using a mesh fabric instead of crosswise webbing straps also makes handling the cargo securing net easier, as the weight of the net is reduced and the mesh fabric, unlike the crosswise webbing straps, cannot knot or tangle itself. Furthermore, using mesh fabric in a cargo securing net offers the advantage that the load remains visible through the net, which is not possible when using tarpaulins or solid walls for load securing.
[0015] In a preferred embodiment, the mesh fabric is designed as a plastic mesh. For example, the mesh fabric can consist of cross-woven polyester fibers or strands, which are further preferably coated with polyvinyl chloride.
[0016] The mesh size of the netting is preferably at most 5 cm. More preferably, the mesh size of the netting is at most 2 cm, more preferably at most 1 cm, and even more preferably at most 0.5 cm. Here, mesh size is understood to mean the clear distance between two adjacent warp or weft threads of the netting. With a mesh size of 5 cm or less, the maximum distance between two adjacent strands of the netting in the vertical or horizontal direction is therefore 5 cm or less. By using smaller mesh sizes, even small packages or parcels can advantageously be reliably secured with the cargo securing net. The smallest possible mesh size of the netting is preferred, as this effectively prevents even very small cargo items from slipping or becoming jammed.
[0017] In a preferred embodiment, the mesh fabric is formed in one piece. In other words, the mesh fabric has no seams or other joints that do not serve to connect the mesh fabric to the webbing. In particular, the mesh fabric is not formed from two or more strips that have been joined together to form the mesh fabric. By using a one-piece mesh fabric, the strength of the load securing net is increased, and the manufacturing effort is also reduced, since it is not necessary to sew multiple strips together.
[0018] In a preferred embodiment, the cargo securing net has two lateral vertical poles between which the webbing extends. In this preferred embodiment, the cargo securing net thus has two lateral vertical poles or supports that, when installed, laterally define the cargo securing net against the side walls of the transport vehicle. The vertical poles can, for example, be made of aluminum and adapted to the shape of the side walls. The webbing is firmly attached to the vertical poles and is therefore held at the intended intervals along the extension of the vertical poles, even when the cargo securing net is not installed. While this means the cargo securing net cannot be folded as compactly, it is easier to handle. In particular, the installation of the cargo securing net in the cargo space is simplified, since the cargo securing net is already pre-tensioned in the vertical direction and therefore only needs to be tensioned in the horizontal direction.
[0019] In a preferred embodiment, two of the four fastening fittings are arranged on each of the vertical poles. In other words, in the preferred embodiment, the lateral fastening fittings used to secure the cargo net in the cargo space are not attached directly to the straps, but rather to the lateral vertical pole. The fastening fittings are thus advantageously already attached at the same intervals as their counterparts in the cargo space. This significantly simplifies the installation of the cargo net in the cargo space, as all fastening fittings can be attached to a side wall in a single operation. Furthermore, even fastening fittings located high up can be easily connected to the securing systems provided on the vehicles without the need for a ladder or other aids.
[0020] In an alternative embodiment, the at least four fastening fittings are each attached to one of the webbing straps. This embodiment can be implemented with or without lateral vertical supports. When implemented with vertical supports, the webbing straps extend around or through the vertical supports and also hold the fastening fittings. Without vertical supports, the fastening fittings are directly connected to the webbing straps. In this case, preferably one fastening fitting is arranged laterally on each webbing strap. This results in twice as many fastening fittings as webbing straps being used. Eliminating the vertical supports advantageously reduces the weight of the cargo securing net significantly. It can also be stowed more compactly.
[0021] In a preferred embodiment, the load securing net has four straps that extend parallel to each other between the opposite side walls when the load securing net is installed in the cargo space of a transport vehicle.
[0022] In a further preferred embodiment, each of the at least two webbing straps has a tensioning device by which the length of the straps can be adjusted. For example, a clamping lock can be provided on each strap to change its length. The straps can be made of two or more sections for this purpose. By using tensioning devices in the webbing straps, the width of the cargo securing net can be adapted to different vehicles. Furthermore, the use of tensioning devices facilitates the installation of the cargo securing net in a cargo space, as the webbing straps can initially be set longer. Only after the fastening fittings have been attached to the side walls are the webbing straps shortened and thus tensioned. This also makes it easier to remove the load securing net, as the tension of the straps can be released before the fastening fittings are removed from the side walls.
[0023] Furthermore, it is preferred if each of the at least two webbing straps has an emergency release device by means of which the webbing straps can be opened under tension. Particularly when the webbing straps are tightly stretched or under pressure from the secured load, releasing a tensioning device and especially the fastening fittings can be significantly more difficult. For this purpose, the load securing net preferably has an emergency release device on each of the webbing straps used, which can be easily released even under tension. A corresponding emergency release device is known, for example, from German utility model DE 20 2018 106 361 U1.
[0024] Finally, it is preferable for the cargo securing net to have two lateral edge straps that connect the at least two webbing straps and that laterally limit the mesh fabric towards the side walls when the cargo securing net is installed in the cargo area of a transport vehicle. The lateral edge straps protect the cargo securing net from damage and can also absorb excessive tensile forces perpendicular to the horizontally running webbing straps.
[0025] The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings, showing Fig. 1 a perspective view of a schematic representation of an exemplary embodiment of a load securing net, Fig. 2 a frontal view of the exemplary embodiment from Fig. 1 and Fig. 3 a detail of the load securing net of the exemplary embodiment from Fig. 2.
[0026] The in the Fig. 1 and Fig. The cargo securing net 1 shown in Figure 2 has four webbing straps 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, each extending parallel to the others. The webbing straps 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d can, for example, have a width of 50 mm. When the cargo securing net 1 is installed in the cargo space of a transport vehicle, the four webbing straps 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d run horizontally.
[0027] The four straps 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d are each attached to two vertical poles 5a, 5b, which are located in the Fig. 1 and Fig. The embodiment shown in 2 is formed by aluminum rods. The aluminum rods can differ from those shown in the 2. Fig. 1 and Fig. The straight shape shown in 2 can also be curved to adapt the load securing net 1 to the shape of the side walls of the cargo space in which the load securing net 1 is to be used.
[0028] The four straps 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d are firmly connected to the vertical frame 5a, 5b at regular intervals, so that the cargo securing net 1 is always taut in the direction of extension of the vertical frame 5a, 5b. When the cargo securing net 1 is installed in the cargo space of a transport vehicle, the direction of extension of the vertical frame 5a, 5b runs parallel to the vertical or vertical direction 7. Similarly, when the cargo securing net 1 is installed in a cargo space, the straps 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d run parallel to the horizontal or horizontal direction 9.
[0029] Each of the vertical rods 5a and 5b is fitted with three mounting fittings 11a, 11b, 11c, 11d, 11e, and 11f in the form of mounting pins. The mounting fittings 11a–11f are spaced at intervals corresponding to, for example, the grid of a keyhole panel. Alternatively, end fittings for other load securing rails, such as anchor-combination rails, can also be attached to the rods 5a and 5b. These end fittings are inserted into the corresponding rails that are mounted in the vehicle. By arranging the fastening fittings 11a - 11f on the vertical rods 5a, 5b, all fastening fittings 11a - 11f on one side, i.e. for example the fastening fittings 11a, 11b, 11c which are attached to the vertical rod 5a shown on the left side in the figures, can be fixed in one operation in the cargo space of the transport vehicle.Furthermore, the use of the vertical poles 5a, 5b also facilitates the installation of the load securing net 1 in high cargo spaces, where otherwise it would be difficult or only possible to install fastening fittings 11a - 11f located high up, or only with the help of ladders or other aids.
[0030] Each of the four webbing straps 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d is equipped with an emergency release device 13. These emergency releases 13 allow the webbing straps 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d to be opened even under load. In particular, if the load shifts behind the cargo securing net 1, the fastening fittings 11a–11f are difficult or even impossible to release from their anchorages on the side walls. Similarly, the tensioning devices 15, also provided on the webbing straps 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, often cannot be released under pressure or only with considerable effort. The use of emergency release devices 13, which can be designed, for example, according to German utility model DE 20 2018 106 361 U1, allows the webbing straps 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d to be relieved of stress even under high loads. This means that the load securing net 1 does not have to be cut as is often necessary in the prior art if the tensioning devices 15 can no longer be released and the fastening fittings 11a - 11f cannot be removed from the on-board securing systems without relief.
[0031] As clamping devices 15 come in the Fig. 1 and Fig. In the embodiment shown in Figure 2, clamping locks are used to adjust the length of the webbing straps 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d. The use of the tensioning devices 15 advantageously allows the width of the cargo securing net 1 to be adjusted to the width of the cargo space within a predetermined range. Furthermore, the cargo securing net 1 can be installed in the cargo space, specifically the mounting brackets 11a-11f can be arranged in the vehicle-side rails, without putting the webbing straps 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d under tension. The cargo securing net 1 is then tensioned using the tensioning devices 15, which significantly simplifies its installation.
[0032] A mesh fabric 17 extends between the webbing straps 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d. The mesh fabric 17 is formed in one piece and extends from the uppermost webbing strap 3a to the lowermost webbing strap 3d, i.e., between the two outermost webbing straps 3a, 3d. In the vertical direction 7, the mesh fabric 17 thus extends completely over the height of the load securing net 1. In the horizontal direction 9, the mesh fabric 17 is bounded by two lateral edge webbing straps 19a, 19b. The webbing straps 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d and the edge webbing straps 19a, 19b are each sewn to the mesh fabric 17 over their entire surface.
[0033] How to find out, especially in Fig. 3 can recognize that this is in Fig. As shown in the detail marked with the letter A, a gap 21 remains between the mesh fabric 17 or the edge straps 19a, 19b limiting the mesh fabric 17 and the vertical frame 5b. This gap 21 serves in particular to allow the width of the load securing net 1 to be adapted to different loading spaces.
[0034] The use of the mesh fabric 17, which in the exemplary embodiment is located in the Fig. Since components 1 to 3 are made in one piece and therefore require no additional seams, this enables the provision of a load securing net 1 that is lighter than load securing nets known from the prior art. Nevertheless, the load securing net 1 allows the load to be seen through it due to its mesh. Furthermore, the load securing net 1 is at least as robust as comparable load securing nets made of crossed webbing. Compared to these load securing nets known from the prior art, the load securing net 1 made of the Fig. Models 1 to 3 also have the advantage of being easier to fold and unfold. In particular, straps cannot become tangled.
