AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing lids for food containers are not reusable, lack airtightness, and are often single-sized, leading to increased plastic waste and the need for multiple lids to accommodate different container sizes.

Method used

A multi-sided, food-safe silicone lid with adaptable profiles and a notch for secure gripping, allowing it to fit various container sizes and create an airtight seal.

Benefits of technology

The lid provides versatility and airtight sealing across multiple container sizes, reducing plastic waste by being reusable and eliminating the need for multiple lids.

Description

Brief Description of the InventionReusable Lid for Closing Cup Vessels of Different Dimensions. The cover can be used on both sides and has one or more profiles on each side in order to ensure the widest possible spectrum of use.DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTIONLids or covers for closing standard cups for keeping food products such as dairy products or fine food fresh are usually not reusable and the cups are not readily resealable. After opening such a product, a thin plastic lid or foil is often used when the original aluminum closure has been removed. These covers are not tight, have no additional benefit and considerably increase the plastic waste. Therefore, the food industry is increasingly omitting this since they are usually disposed of together with the cup.In contrast, conventional reusable food package lids are often made of silicone or other flexible materials and are used to cover containers to preserve food freshness. However, these covers are limited to a particular size and shape. They fit either only to a particular container type or a defined opening size. This often results in consumers requiring multiple lids of different sizes to close different containers. For the reasons stated, the cover with claim to a utility model is intended to have a multi-sided usability. These sides with different profiles and dimensions provide a wide range of applications. However, even containers with minimal deviations within these measurement ranges can be closed reliably and air-tightly by the flexibility of the material, which further increases the versatility of the lid.The reusable lids are manufactured from food-compatible silicone and have a notch which securely engages around the edge of the packaging to be closed. As a result, the lid is securely seated on the package and, together with the flexible material, provides an airtight seal which prevents leakage of the contents. Thanks to the soft and conformable nature of the silicone, the lid can be easily fitted since it automatically comes into the proper position without requiring precise placement. The invention achieves the effect that the lid can close a multiplicity of vessels with the aid of multi-sided use. An exemplary embodiment of the invention is explained with reference to FIGS. 1 to 4. The following are shown:• FIG. 1 - Example cover 1 Side 1 Angular or round• FIG. 2 - Example lid 1 page 2• FIG. 3 - Example lid 1 Cross-section• FIG. 4 - Example lid 2 Cross-sectionThe decisive features are depicted in the figures. The cross sections (FIGS. 3 and 4 ) clearly show the profile ( 1), which is designed in accordance with the profiles of the covers. This results in different sides (FIGS. 1 and 2 ) for high flexibility.List of reference numbers:1 Profile 1 2 Example cover 2 3 Profile 1 4 Profile 2 5 Profile 3
