Description

A conventional surface marking buoy (SMB) plunger, also known as a "finger reel", a "surface marking buoy (SMB) coil", or a "diving reel", serves to securely and compactly accommodate the line of the SMB. It generally consists of a spool onto which a line is wound. An SMB is fastened to this line. The complicated handling arises from the need to handle several tasks simultaneously: 1. holding the SMB: the plunger must hold the SMB securely during filling to prevent uncontrolled expulsion. This requires one hand. 2. operating the filling device: For filling the SMB, most buoys are usually opened at the bottom by compression in order to allow air to flow from the standby machine into the buoy. Alternatively, a valve or hose is needed which is connected to the breathing air supply. Holding the SMB to open the air inlet or valve or hose requires the second hand. 3. monitoring of the coil: At the same time, the plunger must monitor the plunger in order to avoid tangling or uncontrolled running of the line. This is often difficult because the spool is often bulky and requires an additional hand, but is already occupied for filling the SMB and holding the buoy. This simultaneous use of three elements (buoy, spool, filler) results in a awkward situation, compromising the safety and comfort of the diving apparatus. There is an increased risk of losing the SMB, entanglement of the spool or loss of control over the line. Concentration on filling the buoy and simultaneously maneuvering the spool can result in stress and errors. This presents a considerable challenge, especially for inexperienced diving. The present invention relates to a compact plunger coil characterized by a unique construction that enables safe and comfortable handling and minimizes the risk of diving accidents. Unlike conventional voice coils, which are often bulky and require a free hand, this invention is designed to be attached to the back of the hand or, alternatively, to the BCD (Buoyance Control Device) without compromising the gripping and holding function of the hand and without preventing the line from unwinding.Exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained with reference to FIGS. 1 to 9. The following are shown: FIG. 1 : Plunger coil with finger loop, housing with rotatable coil, carabiner FIG. 2 : Plunger coil with finger loop, cable guide and winding aid FIG. 3 : Plunger coil with finger loop, device for securing cable FIG. 4 : Voice coil with hand strap, housing with rotatable coil, carabiner FIG. 5 : Plunger coil with hand strap, cable guide and winding aid FIG. 6 : Plunger coil with a hand strap, attachment to the back of the hand while maintaining the holding and gripping function of the hand FIG. 7 : Plunger coil with hand strap, device for securing cable FIG. 8 : Voice coil with hand strap, fastening of the rolled buoy to the voice coil FIG. 9 : Alternative attachment to the tarier jacket (BCD)Essential features:• Integrated housing: The spool with the wound line (Figs. 1.2, 4.9) is integrated in a compact housing (Figs. 1.1, 4.8).• Ergonomic holding device on the back of the hand: The housing is fastened to the back of the hand by means of a holding device (FIGS. 1.3, 4.10). This holding device consists of one or more stretchable loops which are passed through one or more fingers and are attached to the housing or rotatably to the reel itself. The loops are positioned so as not to impede the natural hand movement and to maintain the gripping function.• Alternative attachment to the BCD: The housing can also be attached to the BCD (Fig. 9.18) by a snap hook (Fig. 1.4, Fig. 4.11, Fig. 9.19) attached to the housing.• Free Handling: By attaching to the back of the hand or to the BCD, both hands remain free to hold the buoy and fill it with gas without losing the coil or being pulled to the surface by the filled buoy.• Automatic unwinding: As soon as the buoy is filled with gas and wants to rise to the surface, it is released and the line unwinds automatically from the reel mounted rotatably in the housing (FIGS. 1.2, 4.9).• Integrated line guide: The line is guided in a slot (FIGS. 3.6, 5.12) provided in the housing, so that it always exits at a defined location on the housing, thus preventing accidental entanglement, for example on an item of equipment.• Securing of the line: If the buoy is on the surface, the wound line can be secured by corresponding retaining devices on the spool housing (FIGS. 2.5, 7.15) in such a way that it does not roll further, even if the spool together with the housing is released and only the line is still held.• Winding of the unwound line: A device is mounted on the spool, by means of which device a unwound line can easily be wound again (FIGS. 3.7, 5.13).• Attachment of the buoy: The loops of the embodiment for attachment to the back of the hand (loops of the hand) can also be used to attach the rolled-up empty marking buoy (Fig. 8.16) to the housing of the reel (Fig. 8.17), whereby it can be securely and comfortably attached to the diving equipment and carried to the dives.Advantages of the Utility Model:• Increased safety: The compact construction, ergonomic attachment to the back of the hand or to the BCD and the integrated line guide minimize the risk of losing the coil or being pulled to the surface by the filled buoy while the buoy is being filled.• Improved handling: The free hand enables more convenient and secure handling of the buoy, the breathing regulator and / or the inflator tube.• Efficient unwinding: The independent unwinding of the line simplifies the use of the buoy and saves time.• Compact design: The compact construction enables simple and space-saving storage.• Safety gain in decompression stops: The simple and safe handling of the plunger increases the safety of the plunger, in particular when performing safety decompression stops at a water depth of 5 m, and minimizes the risk of a decompression accident.Summary:The compact voice coil of the invention offers a distinct improvement over conventional voice coils due to its unique construction and ergonomic holding device as well as the integrated line guide. It is characterized by increased safety, improved handling, efficient unwinding, a compact design and a gain in safety at decompression stops and is ideal for dives who place value on reliable and user-friendly equipment.Additional information:• The holding device may be made of various materials such as neoprene, lycra or other stretchable material.• The securing means may consist, for example, of a clamping device, a clip or another suitable mechanism.• The coil can be made of various materials such as plastic, aluminum or stainless steel. With this compact plunger, the plunger becomes even safer, more comfortable and more efficient!List of reference characters1 Housing reel with finger loop 2, reel with line 3 mounted rotatably in the housing, rotatable holding loop or similar device for finger 4, alternative holding device, e.g. carabiner 5 cable securing means; cable 6 secured against further unwinding, cable guide 7, device for rewinding the unwound line 8, housing 9, reel with line 10 mounted rotatably in the housing, adjustable holding loop or similar device for fastening the reel housing to one hand or to several fingers 11, alternative holding device, e.g. carabiner 12 cable guide 13, device for rewinding the unwound line 14, example for fastening the reel housing by means of the adjustable holding loop to one hand 15 cable securing means; Rope 16 secured against further unwinding, rolled up SMB (marking buoy) 17 adjustable and fixable extensible hand strap 18 Tarier jacket (BCD) 19 reel with the carabiner attached suspended on the tarier jacket.
