Description

[0001] The device consists of a robust, portable rod that integrates the following main components: RFID receiver: for wirelessly reading animal identification numbers. Computing unit (e.g. Raspberry Pi): for processing and storing the data. Waterproof touchscreen: for viewing and editing Excel spreadsheets. USB port: for integrating a USB memory stick with the animal database. Control buttons: for easy navigation and confirmation of entries. Rechargeable battery: for long and reliable use in the barn or on the pasture. (Optional) WLAN or 4G module: for direct online data transmission in smart factories. How it works:

[0002] The user points the stick at the animal, reads the RFID identifier and automatically searches for it in the Excel database.

[0003] When the animal is found, the staff displays the corresponding line with tasks and status information.

[0004] Tasks can be marked as completed, postponed, or re-commented via the touchscreen.

[0005] All changes are automatically saved to the USB stick or optionally transferred directly via the Internet.

Claims

[1] A portable device in the form of an intelligent shepherd's crook, consisting of an integrated RFID receiver, a mobile computing unit, a waterproof touchscreen, a USB interface, control buttons and an optional Internet module, for identifying farm animals and managing animal-related tasks by directly accessing and editing information stored in an Excel database. [2] The device according to claim 1, wherein the task management enables real-time transmission of updated data to a central farm management system via an Internet connection. [3] The device according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the touchscreen enables full interaction with the Excel file, including editing, marking and adding notes to individual data records.
