AI Technical Summary
Existing methods for aligning the sighting device with the bore axis of an MP7 weapon are inefficient, especially when muzzle attachments are present, leading to inaccurate shots and increased time and ammunition costs for correction.
A compact MP7 adjustment laser device is inserted into the weapon, using commercially available components, allowing for pre-adjustment of the sighting device to align with the bore axis, compensating for manufacturing tolerances and enabling corrections without disassembly of muzzle attachments.
Facilitates precise pre-adjustment of sighting devices, reducing the need for extensive shooting range corrections and ammunition usage by ensuring initial shots are closer to the prescribed point of impact, thus optimizing weapon preparation and range efficiency.

Abstract
Description
Situation:
[0001] The accuracy of all weapons used by the Federal Police must be proven by a test firing.
[0002] After the installation, replacement, or repair of any type of sighting device, it is technically unclear where the line of sight points in relation to the bore axis. This deviation is determined and corrected during zeroing.
[0003] Sometimes, with a large deviation, the target is not hit and the shot disappears into the bullet trap or on open shooting ranges in the field, making hit detection and correction impossible.
[0004] Even with the staff's experience, experiments are still necessary, which cost additional time and ammunition.
[0005] To avoid such misfires, it is advisable to adjust the sighting device attached to the weapon parallel to the bore axis (longitudinal centerline) before firing.
[0006] For this, it is necessary to make the bore axis of the tube visible in a suitable way so that it and the sighting device can be seen simultaneously.
[0007] Laser aiming line testers with a caliber mandrel for insertion into the pipe mouth do not work if devices such as silencers are permanently attached there.
[0008] In the case of the MP7, the small caliber (4.6 mm) can cause the caliber pin to bend due to the weight of the laser, making it impossible to check and correct the sighting device.
[0009] The same applies to optical aiming line testers with integrated deflection prism and caliber mandrel; in addition, when using such devices, the weapon must be placed in a firing machine or carriage and aligned with an adjustment cross, because the bore axis and the sight line cannot be seen simultaneously.
[0010] Commercially available laser bore sights in cartridge form for insertion into the chamber of the weapon cannot, to my knowledge, be switched on and off while inserted, nor can the direction of the laser beam be corrected in relation to the bore axis.
[0011] The invention described in claim 1 is based on the idea of developing a weapon-specific, compact device, called the "MP7 adjustment laser", which is to be inserted into the weapon in place of the bolt, consists of commercially available components and materials, can be manufactured cost-effectively using the resources of a Federal Police weapons workshop, and can be used in mobile operations in any MP7 without disassembling any existing muzzle attachments.
[0012] The controls should be arranged in such a way that they are accessible when the device is installed in the weapon and no additional equipment or material is required.
[0013] The MP7 adjustment laser serves as an aid for pre-adjusting any sighting device(s) to the firing distance in preparation for zeroing MP7 service weapons in various configurations, both with regard to possible muzzle attachments regardless of their shape and size, so that during zeroing the first shots are already close to the prescribed point of impact and only small corrections are required to meet the zeroing conditions, thus saving time and ammunition.
[0014] Pre-adjustment does not have to take place at the shooting range, but can be done on the workshop premises, thus making more efficient use of appointments at the shooting range / shooting facility.
[0015] This problem is solved by the features listed in claim 1.
[0016] One possible design is shown in claim 2 and in the drawings ( Fig. ) explained.
[0017] According to claim 3, the centering sleeve (2) is installed in the front of the housing (1), which centers the adjustment laser when inserted into the cartridge chamber of the weapon.
[0018] The front end of the commercially available point laser module (7) is inserted into the rear end of the centering sleeve (2). Its rear end is inserted into the adjustment device according to claim 4. This device can be moved vertically and laterally using the adjustment screws (6) according to claim 2, thereby pivoting the laser module (7) and ultimately aligning the direction of the laser beam with the tube core axis. The ability to correct the direction of the laser beam compensates for manufacturing tolerances of the laser module (7) and the housing (1).
[0019] The adjustment laser is fixed in the weapon housing using a clamping screw (3) and clamping wedges (4) to prevent automatic movement.
[0020] The laser module (7) is powered by the commercially available battery compartment (8) for 2x R6 batteries and is operated by the equally commercially available on / off switch (5) on the back of the housing.
[0021] The locking piece (9) locks the shoulder stock of the weapon so that it can be inserted into the shoulder.
[0022] After insertion, clamping, switching on and checking with any necessary correction of the laser beam direction, the MP7 alignment laser is ready for operation in accordance with its intended purpose.
[0023] The MP7 can now be shouldered and aimed at a vertical surface at a distance of 25 or 50 meters, where the laser dot is visible. The attached sighting device(s) allow the bore axis, made visible by the laser dot, to be seen, and any deviations can be corrected using the sight's adjustments.
[0024] This completes the pre-adjustment process before firing.
