In practice, upholstery fabrics are subjected to heavy wear and tear and become soiled through daily use. Users therefore often resort to makeshift solutions such as cloths or blankets, which, however, tend to slip and look unsightly. There is thus a need for an easy-to-use, elastic protective solution that completely conceals the original upholstery and replaces it with an attractive, high-quality finish. 3. This fabric can be pulled directly over existing upholstery without cutting or sewing, and its high transverse elasticity allows it to conform closely to different upholstery geometries. Longitudinal elasticity is less pronounced, ensuring a stable fit without slipping. 5. Examples of Implementation
[0005] In a preferred embodiment, the fabric is produced using a circular knitting process. High transverse elasticity is achieved through long floats of elastane threads in the fabric weave, which simultaneously create a characteristic surface structure. The ends can be fixed to the underside of the cushion by folding them over and, if necessary, additionally secured with clips. The material is robust, abrasion-resistant, machine-washable, quick-drying, reusable, and is supplied in continuous form (on a roll or in sheets). 6.
