[1] (Main claim) Fiber-based food packaging, consisting of a carrier material based on paper or cardboard, characterized by that the carrier material is provided with a grease-repellent barrier at least on one surface facing the food, wherein the barrier consists at least predominantly of a cocoa fat-based lipidic material. [2] Food packaging according to claim 1, characterized by that the cocoa fat-based lipid material comprises natural cocoa fat or a cocoa butter-like fat (Cocoa Butter Equivalent, CBE). [3] Food packaging according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the barrier is free of synthetic plastics. [4] Food packaging according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the barrier forms a closed, continuous layer that prevents the penetration of grease or oil into the fiber-based carrier material. [5] Food packaging according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the barrier is at least partially embedded in the surface pores of the substrate material. [6] Food packaging according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the barrier is rigid at room temperature and plastically deformable at elevated temperatures.
