Abstract
Description
Technical area
[0001] The invention relates to a cutting device for a cable and a cable processing device with a cutting device. State of the art
[0002] In cable processing, it is known to cut a cable, meaning either severing it or at least cutting the cable sheath to such an extent that the cut cable sheath can be partially or completely removed. A cutting device is known for cutting the cable, which is integrated into a cable processing device, for example, as a processing station.
[0003] The cutting device has a pair of blades with a first blade and a second blade, with a first holder for the first blade and a second holder for the second blade, wherein the respective blade can be releasably clamped in the respective holder, wherein the cutting edge of the first blade defines a cutting plane for the second blade. If the two blades of the blade pair are driven in a synchronized manner and moved towards each other, the cable held clamped between the cutting edges of the blade pair is either cut through or the cable sheath of the cable is cut in a defined manner, so that in the latter case the cut cable sheath can be pulled off. The respective blade with the cutting edge is clamped in the holder, wherein a drive engages the holder and moves the blades towards and away from each other.
[0004] Since the cutting edges are subject to wear, replacing the pair of blades is a frequent operation, which is made easier in particular when identical parts are used for the blades, i.e. when one blade could be mentally replaced by the other blade without impairing the function of the cutting device.
[0005] The use of blades with identical parts is made particularly difficult when the cutting edge of the blade is not arranged symmetrically on one side edge of the blade body, between the two side surfaces of the blade, but is offset on the side edge to one of the two side surfaces of the blade, so that the blade body of the blade is not symmetrical. If one of the two blades of the blade pair is fastened to the holder from a first side by a screw with a screw thread, the other of the two blades must be fastened opposite the first blade, but rotated around an imaginary axis in the plane of the blade body, by a screw from a side opposite the first side. If the first blade were fastened from the front by a first screw, for example, the second blade would then have to be fastened from the back by a second screw. In this case, the first blade can still be easily replaced, as the first screw is easily accessible from the front. However, for the second blade, the second screw would need to be accessible from the rear, which is often prevented by a connecting structure adjacent to the pair of blades, making it difficult to access the second blade.
[0006] DE 10 2019 203 708 A1 describes a cutting device with two blades, each of which is screwed to a holding block and is accessible from one side, which may, however, require subsequent adjustment of the replaced blade.
[0007] DE 20 2008 017 747 U1 also describes a cutting device with two blades that are screwed to a holding block and are accessible from one side.
[0008] EP 3 035 460 B1 describes a cutting device, wherein the blades are each arranged on a holding receptacle, and wherein the holding receptacle must also be replaced in order to replace the blades.
[0009] US 2005 / 181672 A1 describes a cutting device with two V-shaped blades, wherein at the respective cutting edge one flank of the V is arranged on the front side and the other flank of the V is arranged on the rear side of the blade body. Description of the invention
[0010] It is an object of the invention to provide a cutting device with a simplified interchangeability of both blades, in particular in the case of identical parts, wherein the alignment of the replaced blade with respect to the cutting plane should not be lost.
[0011] This object is achieved according to the invention by a cutting device for a cable, comprising a pair of blades with a first blade and a second blade, and a first holder for the first blade and a second holder for the second blade, wherein the respective blade can be releasably clamped in the respective holder, wherein the cutting edge of the first blade defines a cutting plane for the second blade, essentially in that - that the second holder is designed in two parts and has a fixed block and a movable block, - wherein the fixed block has a support edge for an edge of the second blade, - wherein the second blade is releasably clamped between a contact surface of the fixed block and a contact surface of the movable block, - wherein a clamping screw with a thread is provided, wherein the clamping screw passes through a bore of the fixed block, and - wherein the thread of the clamping screw engages a counter thread in the movable block such that the movable block can be releasably clamped against the fixed block.
[0012] Due to the two-part design of the second holder, the second blade is releasably clamped between the fixed block and the movable block, with the movable block being moved toward the fixed block by loosening or tightening the clamping screw. The head of the clamping screw can then be positioned where it is easily accessible.
[0013] Preferably, therefore, the first blade is releasably secured to the first holder by means of a clamping screw, with a screw head of the clamping screw and a screw head of the tensioning screw being arranged on the same side relative to the cutting plane. Thus, the clamping screw of the first blade and the tensioning screw of the second blade can each be loosened or tightened, for example, from the front relative to the cutting plane, and are thus easily accessible.
[0014] Preferably, the blades are designed as identical parts, in particular, the clamping screw and the tensioning screw are designed as identical parts. In particular, both the clamping screw of the first blade and the tensioning screw of the second blade can be designed as a standard screw.
[0015] Preferably, the clamping screw extends through the fixed block with a certain amount of play. The threaded portion of the clamping screw interacts only with the counter-thread in the movable block; a threaded portion of the clamping screw in the area of the fixed block does not interact with the fixed block due to the play, so that when the clamping screw is actuated, only the movable block is displaced relative to the fixed block. However, due to the play, a standard screw can be used as the clamping screw, the thread of which cannot engage in the area of the fixed block.
[0016] Preferably, a spring element is arranged between the fixed block and the movable block, wherein the clamping screw braces the movable block against the fixed block against the preload of the spring element. For the design of the spring element, it is preferably provided that the spring element is designed as an O-ring, wherein the clamping screw passes through the central opening of the O-ring. For the arrangement of the spring element in relation to the fixed block and the movable block, it is particularly provided that the movable block has a recess on the side facing the fixed block, wherein the spring element is arranged in the recess. The recess can in particular be designed as a groove, within which the spring element, in particular the O-ring, is received in a space-saving and captive manner.
[0017] For the arrangement of the fixed block with respect to the movable block, it is preferably provided that the fixed block has a support surface for the movable block, in particular that the fixed block has the support surface and lateral guide surfaces for the movable block.
[0018] Preferably, it is further provided that the clamping screw completely penetrates the movable block and has a retaining ring at one end section.
[0019] The invention further relates to a cable processing device which has the above-described cutting device as one of several processing stations.
[0020] Further advantages and features of the invention emerge from the dependent claims and from the following description of at least one embodiment.
[0021] The invention is described and explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of the essential components of an embodiment of a cutting device for cables according to the invention, wherein the cutting device is one processing station of several processing stations of a cable processing device for cable assembly, Fig. Figure 2 shows a sectioned longitudinal view of a part of the cutting device of Fig. 1 in a first working position, and Fig. 3 shows a sectioned longitudinal view of the part from Fig. 2 in a second working position in an enlarged view.
[0022] Fig. Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the essential parts of a cutting device designed to cut a cable. The cutting device comprises a pair of blades with a first blade 1 and a second blade 2, wherein the blades 1, 2 each have a V-shaped cutting edge 3, 4. The blades 1, 2 are arranged such that the cutting edges 3, 4 point towards each other, such that a gap formed between the cutting edges 3, 4 in the illustration of Fig. 1 A cable inserted from the front left is severed by the synchronized actuation of the blades 1, 2 when the blades 1, 2 are moved towards each other. In particular, the cutting device is designed for a so-called V-cut, i.e. for completely severing the cable. Cutting the cable requires that the cutting edges 3, 4 are aligned with one another within an imaginary plane, the cutting plane, wherein the cutting edge 3 of the first blade 1 defines the cutting plane for the second blade 2, i.e. the second blade 2 is arranged such that the cutting edge 4 of the second blade 2 is aligned within the cutting plane predetermined by the cutting edge 3 of the first blade 1.
[0023] The cutting device further comprises a first holder 5 for the first blade 1 and a second holder 6 for the second blade 2, wherein the respective blade 1, 2 can be releasably clamped in the respective holder 5, 6, so that the respective blade 1, 2 can be exchanged and replaced if necessary.
[0024] The blades 1, 2 are designed as identical parts, i.e. by a blade body with a cutting edge 3, 4, which can be provided both as the first blade 1 and as the second blade 2, so that the blades 1, 2 are basically interchangeable with one another without having to make changes to the other settings of the holders 5, 6.
[0025] The clamping screw 7 and the tensioning screw 8 are also designed as identical parts and are made of the same component, namely a standard screw with the Fig. 1 visible screw head and a screw shaft with an external thread along the screw shaft, whereby the standard screw can be provided both as a clamping screw 7 and as a tensioning screw 8.
[0026] The first blade 1 is detachably fastened to the first holder 5 by means of a clamping screw 7; in particular, an underside of the screw head of the clamping screw 7 presses the side surfaces of the first blade 1 against the first holder 5.
[0027] The second blade 2 is releasably attached to the second holder 6 by means of a clamping screw 8.
[0028] As can be seen from Fig. 1, the screw head of the clamping screw 7 and the screw head of the tensioning screw 8 are arranged on the same side, relative to the cutting plane, so that, in the illustration of Fig. 1, both screws 7, 8 can be loosened from the same side, i.e. from the front left and are therefore easily accessible.
[0029] This is made possible, especially for the clamping screw 8 and the second blade 2, by the fact that, as Fig. 2 shows, the second holder 6 is formed in two parts and has a fixed block 9 and a block 10 which is movable relative to the fixed block 9.
[0030] Within the cutting device, the fixed block 9 has a defined, reproducible, and, in this sense, permanently adjustable alignment with respect to the first blade 1 in the first holder 5. The movable block 10 is movably guided on the fixed block 9.
[0031] The respective block 9, 10 is designed as a molded part, in particular as a metallic milled part.
[0032] The fixed block 9 has a support edge 11 for a lower edge of the blade body of the second blade 2. The second blade 2 can be releasably clamped between a contact surface 12 of the fixed block 9 and a contact surface 13 of the movable block 10. In the sectional view of Fig. In Figure 2, the section plane is positioned such that a longitudinal section along the clamping screw 8 is shown, with the second blade 2 resting above and below the paper plane on the contact surface 13 of the movable block 10. Likewise, the second blade rests flatly above and below the paper plane on the contact surface 12 of the fixed block 9 over a larger area than that shown.
[0033] In the presentation of Fig. In Figure 2, the second blade 2 is clamped between the contact surfaces 12, 13 of the blocks 9, 10 and rests on the support edge 11 of the stationary block 9 in a defined orientation relative to the cutting plane. In this clamped position of the second blade 2 in the second holder 6, the clamping screw 8 is tightened.
[0034] For this purpose, it is provided that the clamping screw 8 passes through the fixed block 9 with a play such that a distance is maintained between the external thread on the screw shaft of the clamping screw 8 and the inside of a bore 14 in the fixed block 9, so that turning the clamping screw 8 has no effect on the fixed block 9.
[0035] The thread of the clamping screw 8 engages a mating thread in the movable block 10 such that the movable block 10 can be releasably clamped against the fixed block 9. When the clamping screw 8 is turned, the movable block 10 is either moved toward the fixed block 9 or moved away from the fixed block 9. Depending on the direction of rotation of the clamping screw 8, the second blade 2 is either firmly clamped between the fixed block 9 and the movable block 10, or the clamping is released and the second blade 2 is released.
[0036] Fig. 2 further shows that a spring element 15 is arranged between the fixed block 9 and the movable block 10, with the clamping screw 8 clamping the movable block 10 against the fixed block 9 against the preload of the spring element 15. The spring element 15 is designed to push the movable block 10 away from the fixed block 9, so that a displacement of the movable block 10 toward the fixed block 9 is only possible against the increasing spring force of the spring element 15.
[0037] In particular, Fig. 2 that the spring element 15 is designed as an O-ring, with the shaft of the clamping screw 8 passing through the central opening of the O-ring so that the O-ring surrounds the clamping screw 8. The O-ring acts as an elastic spring cushion.
[0038] To accommodate the spring element 15 between the fixed block 9 and the movable block 10, the movable block 10 is provided with a recess 16 on the side facing the fixed block 9, with the spring element 15 being arranged in the recess 16. The recess 16 can, in particular, be designed as a concave groove on the side of the movable block 10 facing the fixed block 9.
[0039] The fixed block 9 has a support surface 17 for the movable block 10, so that a step is formed on which the underside of the movable block 10 is guided. In addition to the support surface 17, the fixed block 9 has lateral guide surfaces for the movable block 10; these lateral guide surfaces are provided on cheek sections 18 ( Fig. 1) of the fixed block 9. The cheek sections 18 engage laterally around the movable block 10 at its side surfaces, so that the inner sides of the cheek surfaces facing the movable block 10 form the lateral guide surfaces of the fixed block 9 for the side surfaces of the movable block 10.
[0040] Fig. 2 further shows that the clamping screw 8 completely penetrates the movable block 10 and has a locking ring 19 at one end section, which prevents the clamping screw 8 from being unscrewed from the movable block 10.
[0041] The clamping screw 8 rests with the underside of the screw head on a point shown in the illustration of Fig. 2 left outer side 20 of the fixed block 9 and is supported on the outer side 20, so that the clamping screw 8 and the blocks 9 and 10 form a combination which forms the second holder 6.
[0042] Fig. 2 shows the second holder 6 in a position in which the clamping screw 8 is tightened such that the movable block 10 is clamped against the fixed block 9 against the elastic preload of the compressed O-ring 15, wherein the second blade 2 is clamped between the mutually facing contact surfaces 12 of the fixed block 9 and 13 of the movable block 10. The lower side edge of the second blade 2 rests on the support edge 11 of the fixed block 9. Due to the contact surface 12 of the fixed block 9 of the second blade 2, the cutting edge 4 of the second blade 2 is clamped in alignment with respect to a cutting plane defined by the cutting edge of the first blade.
[0043] At the Fig. 2, the cutting edge 4 is formed on one of the two side surfaces of the flat blade body, namely on the side surface of the blade body that rests against the contact surface 12 of the fixed block 9. The cutting plane is then determined accordingly by the imaginary extension of the contact surface 12; accordingly, the contact surface 12 of the fixed block is aligned such that the cutting edge of the opposite first blade lies in this imaginary extension of the contact surface 12.
[0044] Fig. 3 shows a partial enlargement of Fig.2 shows a representation in which, by turning the clamping screw 8, the clamping of the second blades between the fixed block 9 and the movable block 10 is released, with the movable block 10 being moved away from the fixed block 9, such that the second blade 2 can be inserted or removed. When the second blade 2 is inserted, its side surface is already aligned with the contact surface 12 of the fixed block 9 and arranged resting on the support edge 11 of the fixed block 9, while the spring element, i.e., the O-ring 15, is relaxed.
[0045] Even in this relaxed position, the head of the clamping screw 8 rests on the outer side 20 of the fixed block 9.
[0046] The invention was described and explained above with reference to two blades 1, 2, each designed as a V-shaped cutting blade, i.e., for severing a cable. It is understood that the invention can also be used if the blades have cutting edges that are intended solely for cutting into the cable's outer surface for subsequent removal of the cut outer surface.
[0047] The invention has been described above for the blades 1, 2 of a single blade pair. It is understood that the invention can also be applied to two or more blade pairs of a cutting unit.
