Description

[0001] The invention relates to a support body for supporting a holding console on the spare wheel well of a vehicle according to the preamble of claim 1. Furthermore, the invention relates to a device for introducing the forces of a working cylinder into the spare wheel well of a vehicle according to the preamble of claim 13 and an arrangement of this device in the spare wheel well.

[0002] In particular, the invention relates to the removal of dents from the rear of a vehicle dented after an accident. For this purpose, a working cylinder is attached to the inside of the vehicle's rear end. A support bracket inserted into the spare wheel well serves as a support for the working cylinder. Such a support bracket is disclosed in the applicant's German patent DE 10 2020 005 863 B4.

[0003] In many vehicles on the market, the ring-shaped side inner wall of the spare wheel well is chamfered to make it easier to remove the spare wheel. The spare wheel well therefore has a larger diameter at the top edge than at its bottom. This design of the spare wheel well means that the retaining bracket must be inserted into the spare wheel well together with support bodies to prevent the working cylinder from pushing the retaining bracket out of the spare wheel well when the rear is bulged out. In DE 10 2020 005 863 B4 it was therefore proposed to arrange wedges or curved rods, which create a wedge shape, between the retaining bracket and a second bracket in the spare wheel well. It has been shown that the proposed support bodies can hold the retaining bracket reliably in the spare wheel well, but in many cases they locally deform and thus damage the spare wheel well.Since the inclinations of the bevelled inner walls of the spare wheel wells vary between different vehicle types, many different support bodies must be kept on hand or support bodies that do not quite fit must be used, which further increases the risk of damaging the spare wheel well.

[0004] The invention is therefore based on the problem of reducing the risk of damage to the spare wheel well of a vehicle when removing dents from the rear of the vehicle using a working cylinder. This is achieved by inserting a retaining bracket serving as an abutment for the working cylinder into the spare wheel well, together with a support body intended to prevent the retaining bracket from being pushed out of the spare wheel well. In particular, a support body, a device comprising the support body, and an arrangement therewith are to be specified for this purpose.

[0005] The invention solves this problem with a support body according to claim 1, with a device according to claim 13 and with an arrangement according to claim 14. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.

[0006] In a support body for supporting a retaining bracket on the spare wheel well of a vehicle, wherein the support body is designed to be inserted into the spare wheel well together with the retaining bracket and to be arranged in an approximately conical annular gap between the outer wall of the retaining bracket, which is bent approximately according to a portion of the circumference of the spare wheel intended for the spare wheel well, on the one hand, and a bevelled lateral inner wall of the spare wheel well, on the other hand, in order to counteract the pressing out of the retaining bracket from the spare wheel well when a working cylinder, which is attached to the rear of the vehicle on the one hand and to the retaining bracket on the other hand, for the purpose of straightening the rear of the vehicle, presses the retaining bracket towards the lateral inner wall of the spare wheel well, it is essential to the invention that the support body is a hose filled with bulk material, which has a first Velcro strip extending in the longitudinal direction of the support body and a second Velcro strip extending in the longitudinal direction of the support body, wherein the first Velcro strip and the second Velcro strip are arranged on two opposite sides of the hose in the circumferential direction of the hose in such a way as to be able to form Velcro connections between the first Velcro strip and at least one third Velcro strip on the outer wall of the holding bracket and between the second Velcro strip and at least one fourth Velcro strip on the lateral inner wall of the spare wheel well and thus to reversibly connect the holding bracket to the spare wheel well by means of the support body and the Velcro connections.

[0007] The bulk material can also be referred to as granulate. Due to its granular filling, the support body according to the invention adapts flexibly to the possibly structured surface of the spare wheel well and can therefore support itself evenly across the surface on the spare wheel well without locally overloading and deforming the surface, as can happen with hard wedges. When pressure is applied, in particular from the working cylinder, the support body stabilizes its shape automatically, with the grains making up the bulk material interlocking with one another. This maintains contact with the retaining bracket and the spare wheel well via the Velcro fasteners, with the Velcro fasteners being loaded essentially over their entire surface and in a direction that is essentially lateral to their connecting surface, and therefore does not come loose accidentally. The retaining bracket and the support body therefore remain fixed in the spare wheel well.

[0008] The support bracket can thus serve as a support for the working cylinder when the rear of the vehicle is being straightened using the working cylinder. The process of straightening the rear end can also be referred to as straightening, and the support bracket is therefore also referred to as a straightening bracket.

[0009] In particularly preferred embodiments of the invention, the first hook-and-loop fastener is a hook fastener, whereas the third hook-and-loop fastener is a loop fastener. Particularly preferably, the second hook-and-loop fastener is also a hook fastener, whereas the fourth hook-and-loop fastener is a loop fastener. In particular, the first hook-and-loop fastener and the second hook-and-loop fastener, i.e., the two hook-and-loop fasteners arranged on the tube of the support body, are hook fasteners. The third hook-and-loop fastener and the fourth hook-and-loop fastener can be textile tapes or carpets, or even just surfaces equipped with loops.

[0010] Preferably, exactly one third adhesive tape is provided. The third Velcro strip is preferably a carpet and is preferably firmly bonded to the outside of the support bracket. Preferably, several fourth adhesive tapes are provided, which are removable, i.e., reversibly bonded, to the inner side wall of the spare wheel well. The fourth adhesive tapes are preferably felt tapes.

[0011] In alternative embodiments, the first and second hook-and-loop fasteners are loop fasteners, while the third and fourth hook-and-loop fasteners are hook fasteners. Alternatively, other designs of hook-and-loop fasteners without hooks and loops can also be used, for example, where the hook-and-loop fasteners to be connected to each other both have mushroom-shaped heads that can interlock.

[0012] The bulk material is preferably sand or a sand-gravel mixture, in particular cable sand or construction sand. The sand has a grain size of up to 2,000 mm. Preferably, at least 99 percent by weight of the sand, more preferably at least 99.9 percent by weight, and particularly preferably 100 percent by weight, has a grain size between 0.063 mm and 2,000 mm. The grain size of the gravel is in particular in the range from 2 mm to 32 mm, preferably from 2 mm to 8 mm, more preferably from 2 mm to 4 mm.

[0013] Furthermore, the bulk material is particularly preferably dimensionally stable. To achieve this, the bulk material consists in particular of poorly sorted and at least predominantly angular, especially sharp-edged, grains or contains such grains. Predominantly angular, especially sharp-edged, grains and a high variance in grain sizes ensure high internal friction of the sand and thus dimensional stability.

[0014] The hose is preferably made of a textile fabric. The wall thickness of the hose is preferably at least 2 mm, more preferably at least 3 mm, and most preferably at least 4 mm. This makes the hose sufficiently flexible yet robust.

[0015] It has proven particularly advantageous if the textile fabric is a fire-resistant fabric, especially as used in a commercially available welding blanket. Such a textile fabric comprises or consists of glass fibers and / or carbon fibers and / or Kevlar fibers and / or glass filaments. Such a fabric is readily available, can be easily processed for the production of the support body, and also has the advantage that the support body produced with it poses no fire risk when used in a car repair shop.

[0016] The hose is preferably made from a single piece of fabric that is sewn together along its opposite long edges to form a round hose. The hose is also preferably folded and sewn together at the ends of the bulk-filled area. These ends of the bulk-filled area are preferably identical to the short edges of the hose. However, embodiments are also conceivable in which the hose is extended unfilled beyond the ends of the bulk-filled area.

[0017] There are particularly advantageous dimensions for the support body, in particular for the tube and the Velcro fasteners attached to it. The tube is preferably filled with the bulk material over a length in the range of 60 cm to 140 cm, preferably in the range of 70 cm to 130 cm, more preferably in the range of 80 cm to 120 cm, and particularly preferably in the range of 90 cm to 110 cm. The length of the tube itself is preferably in the same range and is, in particular, only longer by the portions that extend beyond the seams or other closure means at the narrow ends of the filled portion.

[0018] In advantageous embodiments, the hose has an outer circumference in the range of 10 cm to 20 cm, preferably in the range of 11 cm to 18 cm, more preferably in the range of 12 cm to 17 cm, particularly preferably in the range of 13 cm to 16 cm.

[0019] Furthermore, it is preferably provided that the first Velcro strip and the second Velcro strip on the hose have at least 90 percent of the length of the area filled with bulk material. The first Velcro strip and the second Velcro strip advantageously each have a width in the range of 3.0 cm to 8.0 cm, preferably in the range of 3.5 cm to 7.0 cm, more preferably in the range of 4.0 cm to 6.0 cm, particularly preferably in the range of 4.5 cm to 5.5 cm, but with the proviso that the sum of these two widths is less, preferably at least 2 cm less, more preferably between 3 cm and 6 cm less, than the outer circumference of the hose. The respective Velcro strip is preferably formed in one piece. Alternatively, however, a multi-part design of the respective Velcro strip is also possible. The first Velcro strip and the second Velcro strip are advantageously sewn to the hose.Alternatively or additionally, these Velcro straps are connected to the hose by means of an adhesive connection.

[0020] The invention also achieves the object mentioned at the outset with a device for introducing the forces of a working cylinder, which is to be applied to the rear of a vehicle to be dented, into the spare wheel well of a vehicle. The device is equipped with a holding bracket which is designed to be inserted into the spare wheel well, bent approximately according to a section of the circumference of the spare wheel intended for the spare wheel well, in order to be able to attach the working cylinder to the holding bracket, and with a supporting body which is designed to be inserted into the spare wheel well together with the holding bracket and to be arranged in an approximately conical annular gap between the outer wall of the holding bracket on the one hand and a bevelled lateral inner wall of the spare wheel well on the other hand, in order to counteract the holding bracket being pushed out of the spare wheel well when the working cylinder presses the holding bracket in the direction of the lateral inner wall of the spare wheel well.Essential to the invention, it is further provided in this device that the support body is designed according to a possible embodiment of the support body according to the invention and that the holding bracket has at least one third Velcro strip, designed in particular as a loop carpet, on its outer wall, with which the first Velcro strip of the support body forms a Velcro connection when the support body is inserted into the spare wheel well together with the holding bracket.

[0021] The retaining bracket preferably has a base part that is bent or bendable approximately into a semicircle. The retaining bracket takes up, for example, approximately half the base area of a spare wheel for which the spare wheel well is designed, particularly if this is a medium-sized or rather small spare wheel. For arrangement in spare wheel wells that are designed to accommodate comparatively larger spare wheels, the curvature of the base part must be comparatively smaller. To ensure universal usability of the retaining bracket, the curvature of the base part is therefore preferably adjustable. The adjustment is preferably carried out by adjusting the length of a connecting rod that connects the end regions of the base part to one another.

[0022] The radial outer side of the holding bracket is preferably covered with the loop carpet, which forms the third Velcro strip, which can consequently form a Velcro connection with the first Velcro strip of the support body and which can also be referred to as a loop carpet.

[0023] The retaining bracket, which interacts with the support body according to the invention and is claimed in the device, can also have individual, several, or all features of the retaining bracket described in DE 10 2020 005 863 B4, with the third Velcro strip additionally being provided on the retaining bracket. The content of DE 10 2020 005 863 B4 is therefore fully incorporated into the disclosure of possible embodiments of the retaining bracket described here and, in particular, into the disclosure of possible embodiments of the device claimed here with the retaining bracket.

[0024] The invention also achieves the object stated at the outset with an arrangement of the device described above according to a possible embodiment in the spare wheel well of a vehicle. In this arrangement, the at least one fourth hook and loop fastener, designed in particular as a loop fastener, is attached to the lateral inner wall of the spare wheel well, in particular glued thereto by means of a detachable adhesive connection. Furthermore, the support body and the holding bracket are inserted into the spare wheel well, and hook and loop connections are established between the first hook and loop fastener and the at least one third hook and loop fastener, as well as between the second hook and loop fastener and the at least one fourth hook and loop fastener, such that the holding bracket is reversibly connected to the spare wheel well by means of the support body and the hook and loop fasteners.

[0025] Further embodiments of the invention will become apparent from the claims, the accompanying drawings, and the following description of a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention shown in the drawings. The drawings show: Fig. 1: a support body according to an embodiment of the invention in a front view; Fig. 2: a for the production of the support body of Fig. 1 textile fabric used with Velcro fasteners attached to it in a top view; Fig. 3: the support body of Fig. 1 together with a retaining bracket in a spare wheel well of a vehicle in a side sectional view; Fig. 4: the support bracket of Fig. 3 in perspective view; Fig. 5: the spare wheel well of Fig. 3 with a Velcro strip glued into it in perspective view; Fig. 6: the spare wheel well from the Fig. 3 and Fig. 5 with the attached support body from the Fig. 1 and Fig. 3 in the perspective view of Fig. 5; and Fig. 7: The arrangement of a bracket from the support bracket Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 and the support body of the Fig. 1, Fig. 3 and Fig. 6 existing facility in the spare wheel well covered with Velcro from the Fig. 5 and Fig. 6 in the perspective view of the Fig. 5 and Fig. 6.

[0026] In Fig. 1 shows a support body 1 according to the invention, which can be inserted into an annular gap between the inner side wall of a vehicle's spare wheel well and a retaining bracket, together with this retaining bracket, in place of a spare wheel in the spare wheel well. The retaining bracket can then serve as an abutment for a hydraulic cylinder that can be attached to the retaining bracket to align the rear of the vehicle. The support body 1 holds the retaining bracket in the spare wheel well, even if the edge of the spare wheel well is beveled.

[0027] The support body 1 comprises a tube filled with bulk material, which is formed from a textile fabric 2 and is closed at its short ends by means of a first closure seam 3 and a second closure seam 4. In Fig. 1, the tube is closed by a longitudinal seam 5, which forms a lower edge of the tube in the area of the closure seams 3 and 4. The long edges of the textile fabric 2 are arranged one above the other and sewn together by means of the longitudinal seam 5. Fig. 1 On the upper side, the textile fabric 2 from which the tube is formed is simply folded over by 180 degrees, forming an upper edge of the tube in the area of the closure seams 3 and 4. Between the closure seams 3 and 4, however, the tube takes on a more rounded shape due to its filling, which is, however, variable and can be flexibly changed so that the shape of the tube can also adapt locally to the shape of the annular gap between the outer wall of the support bracket and the inner wall of the spare wheel well.

[0028] The arrangement of seams 3, 4 and 5 creates a Fig. 1 defines a visible first side of the hose and a second side of the hose arranged concealed behind it. On the first side 2, a first hook-and-loop fastener 6, designed as a hook-and-loop fastener, is arranged essentially over the entire length of the hose, is aligned parallel to the edges of the hose, and is sewn to the hose. Analogously, on the second side, a second hook-and-loop fastener, designed as a hook-and-loop fastener, is arranged essentially over the entire length of the hose, is aligned parallel to the edges of the hose, and is sewn to the hose.

[0029] Fig. 2 shows the textile fabric 2 of the support body 1 of Fig. 1 with the first Velcro strip 6 and the second Velcro strip 7 already mentioned and designated here for the first time, before the support body 1 of Fig. 1 is manufactured. The same reference numerals designate the same parts in all figures. To continue manufacturing the support body 1, seams 3, 4, and 5 still need to be created and the tube filled. To do this, the upper side is first folded back along the dashed line, and then the round tube is produced using the longitudinal seam 5. The round tube is then closed on one side using one of the closing seams 3 or 4, then filled via the still open short side, and finally closed on this side using the still missing closing seam 3 or 4.

[0030] Fig. Figure 3 shows the arrangement of a retaining bracket 8 together with the support body 1 in the spare wheel well 9 of a vehicle. The spare wheel well 9 is a recess in the floor of the vehicle's trunk, designed to accommodate a spare wheel. The spare wheel can be a full-size wheel or a temporary spare wheel, which has comparatively smaller dimensions, so that the spare wheel well 9 can be formed, in particular, with a shallower depth in the floor of the trunk.

[0031] The support body 1 is arranged in the annular gap 16, designated here for the first time, between the inner wall of the spare wheel well 9 and the retaining bracket 8. Due to the beveled inner wall of the spare wheel well 9, the annular gap 16 tapers conically and is wider at the top than in the area of the bottom of the spare wheel well 9. To adapt to the surfaces of the retaining bracket 8 and the spare wheel well 9, the support body 1, in particular the tube of the support body 1, is filled with a bulk material 10. The bulk material 10 is, for example, sharp-edged sand, which interlocks well and is therefore comparatively dimensionally stable under pressure.

[0032] The retaining bracket 8 has a third Velcro fastener 11 on its outer side in the form of a carpet with loops, which is interlocked with the first Velcro fastener 6. A fourth Velcro fastener 13, designed as a loop fastener, is glued to the lateral inner wall 12 of the spare wheel well 10, which is designated here for the first time, and which is interlocked with the second Velcro fastener 7 of the support body 1. Due to the extensive cohesion of the bulk material under pressure, the support body 1 automatically stabilizes its shape, so that the Velcro fasteners do not come loose and the support body 1 is not forced out of the annular gap 16.

[0033] Fig. 4 shows the holding bracket 8. The holding bracket 8 has a curved base part 14 made of metal, on the radial outer side of which the third Velcro strip 11, designed as a carpet with loops, is arranged. A connecting rod 15 connects the two free ends of the base part 14 to one another and thus ensures that a set bend of the base part 14 is maintained. For this purpose, the holding bracket 8 has receptacles welded to the ends of the base part 14 with receptacle holes through which bolts are passed. By means of the bolts, multi-part rods, the length of which can thus be adjusted, are clamped between the receptacles at the opposite ends of the base part 14. The connecting rod 15 and its components are also preferably made of metal.

[0034] Fig. 5 shows the spare wheel well 9 and the fourth Velcro strip 13 temporarily glued into the spare wheel well 9. The length of the fourth Velcro strip 13 corresponds approximately to the length of the second Velcro strip 7. Preferably, the width of the fourth Velcro strip 13 is also approximately as large or at least as large as the width of the second Velcro strip 7. The lateral inner wall 12 of the spare wheel well 9 is bevelled and has a convex shape from the bottom of the spare wheel well 9 to the upper edge of the spare wheel well 9, particularly in the upper outer area.

[0035] Fig. 6 shows the spare wheel well 9 and the support body 1 fastened therein by means of the Velcro connection formed by the second Velcro strip 7 and the fourth Velcro strip 13.

[0036] In Fig. 7 is based on the arrangement of Fig.6 In addition, the holding bracket 8 is inserted into the spare wheel well 9 and reversibly connected to the support body 1 by means of the Velcro connection formed from the first Velcro strip 6 and the third Velcro strip 11.
