Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a device for dispensing a liquid containing at least one active ingredient into a toilet bowl that can be covered with a lid, according to claim 1.
[0002] For many people, unpleasant odors after using the toilet are a significant problem. Consequently, there is no shortage of suggestions and products that have been or are being developed to solve this problem.
[0003] These systems often extract unpleasant odors at the source. For example, German patent DE 20 2010 012 612 U1 describes a direct air extraction system via holes in the wall of a toilet bowl. German patent DE 20 2010 015 219 U1 describes odor extraction directly at the toilet seat.
[0004] A more advantageous approach than the technically complex air extraction system would be to absorb the unpleasant odor molecules, which can only exist as gases in the air, directly at their source using a sprayed liquid containing appropriate active ingredients. This liquid would act like a net, trapping the odor molecules. The effectiveness of the neutralizing liquid is certainly highest when it is released into a nearly enclosed space. However, this is only optimally achieved if the liquid is dispensed into the toilet bowl shortly before use, ideally while the user is already seated on the toilet seat. This significantly reduces the risk of the sprayed liquid and its odor-neutralizing effect escaping into the surrounding air.
[0005] Such a neutralization chamber is implemented with a metering device disclosed in EP 596 952 A1. This device comprises a liquid container suspended on the outside edge of a toilet bowl, from which a liquid line resting on the bowl rim leads into the toilet bowl, with a spray nozzle arranged at the outlet of the liquid line. The section of the liquid line resting on the bowl rim acts as a peristaltic pump, which, when pressure is applied to the toilet seat, delivers a defined spray into the interior of the toilet bowl via the nozzle structure.

Claims
1. Device for dispensing a liquid containing at least one active substance into a toilet bowl, comprising a toilet lid (7) for covering the toilet bowl, wherein the toilet lid (7) is provided with a through-opening (8), which extends between an outer side and an inner side of the toilet lid (7); an adapter sleeve (1), which is fixed as a separate component to the toilet lid (7) or is formed integrally with the toilet lid (7), wherein the adapter sleeve (1), in the case of an integral formation with the toilet lid (7), forms the through-opening (8) in the toilet lid (7), or is arranged as a separate component in the through-opening (8); a one-piece container (9) receiving the liquid, with an upper side (10) and an underside (11), wherein the container (9) is arranged in the through-opening (8) so as to be axially fixable or axially movable, wherein in the case of an axially movable arrangement the container (9) itself and / or the adapter sleeve (1) has a stop and / or an abutment for the manual exertion of pressure onto the upper side (10) of the container (9); and a dispensing device, which is in operative connection with the container (9), wherein the container (9) is fixed via the adapter sleeve (1) in the toilet lid in such a way that, with respect to its installation position, its upper side (10) is accessible from the outer side of the toilet lid (7) for a manual exertion of pressure triggering a dispensing of liquid, whereupon the dispensing device, being in operative connection with the container (9), pointing into the toilet bowl, is formed to dispense the liquid by pressure in the container (9) via the dispensing device, with the toilet lid (7) closed, into the toilet bowl.

3. Device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the container (9) is insertable into the adapter sleeve (1), screwable into it, or is connected with it via a snap connection.

Device according to one of claims 1 or 3, when referred back to claim 1, characterized in that the inner wall of the adapter sleeve (1) and the outer wall of the container (9) are equipped with complementary sections of a bayonet closure (12, 22, 23), so that the container (9) is axially fixable at the adapter sleeve (1) by axial insertion and subsequent twisting at the adapter sleeve (1).
