Description
[0001] The invention relates to a holder for an elongated object to be placed on a vessel, such as a piece of cutlery and / or a kitchen tool and / or a painting or masonry tool, having the features of the preamble of claim 1.
[0002] The problem often arises of placing an elongated object, such as a painting tool, spatula, stirring stick, etc., in such a way that the object is within easy reach and unwanted contamination by material originating from the object, such as paint, glue, paste, etc., is avoided.
[0003] The problem of putting down a piece of cutlery (knife, fork, or spoon) without placing it on the table, a tablecloth, or a napkin often arises. This is known to lead to unwanted soiling.
[0004] When painting or masonry work, there is also the problem of placing tools such as spatulas or stirring sticks in such a way that paint, paste, mortar or similar do not drip onto the floor or work surface.
[0005] It is also often a problem to put down kitchen utensils while cooking and to have them quickly at hand again when needed.
[0006] It is also desirable to have the cutlery or kitchen utensils that are not currently in use within easy reach.
[0007] A generic holder is known from US 2019 / 110637 A1. US 2019 / 110637 A1 discloses a holder for an elongated object to be placed on the edge of a vessel, such as a piece of cutlery, a kitchen tool, a painting tool, or a masonry tool, wherein the holder has a support for one end of the object, wherein the holder is a bracket which is a one-piece, multiply bent rod-shaped body, wherein the legs of the bracket have hooks at their free ends, which are bent ends of the legs, and wherein the web of the bracket serving as a support, including the regions of the legs adjoining the web, points away from the regions of the legs carrying the hooks, wherein the regions of the legs carrying the web have loop-like bent regions, and wherein the web is curved, wherein the concave side of the curvature of the web points towards the ends of the legs carrying the hooks.
[0008] Similar holders disclose DE 343 837 C, GB 614,491 A, GB 347,818 A, DE 90 10 106 U1, CH 268 133 A and US 2,452,025.
[0009] US 1,237,504 A shows and describes a wire holder according to the preamble of claim 1, with which a spoon can be placed on the edge of a container. The holder has a support for the spoon. The holder has hooks by means of which it can be hooked onto the edge of the container. The support is the U-shaped area of a part of the holder that runs approximately parallel to the wall of the container. The part of the holder located inside the container is simply U-shaped.
[0010] US 7,140,148 B1 concerns a device that is placed on the edge of a vessel and is intended to temporarily hold a fishing line before casting. The device is intended to be attached to a piece of clothing (a belt in Fig. 4 ). The fishing line is suspended in loops from the clip's protruding bail and is designed to release from the bail as soon as the fishing line is cast.
[0011] The invention is based on the object of providing a holder for an elongated object which improves the placement of the object within the rim of a container.
[0012] This object is achieved with a holder having the features of claim 1.
[0013] Preferred and advantageous embodiments of the holder according to the invention are the subject of the subclaims.
[0014] The holder according to the invention can be hung with its hooks on the edge of a container, such as a bowl, a plate, or a jar (for example, for jam or honey). The object, e.g., a piece of cutlery, is then simply placed on the bar of the bracket and rested with one end on the edge of the container. This leaves the other end protruding, usually at an upward angle, over the container and can be easily grasped. The same applies to resting kitchen utensils on a piece of cookware.
[0015] It is understood that the holder according to the invention can be used not only for cutlery items, but also for kitchen tools such as wooden spoons, scoops, spatulas, ladles or the like, in order to store these kitchen tools securely and within easy reach on vessels in the form of cookware, such as pots, pans, cups, buckets and the like.
[0016] In general, the holder according to the invention can be used for elongated objects of any type and design, including painting and masonry tools.
[0017] An advantage of the holder according to the invention is that the object can be placed on the support of the holder in such a way that, in particular, the area of the elongated object from which material (food, jam, honey, paint, mortar, paste, adhesive, filler and the like) can drip off is arranged within the rim of the container.
[0018] An object is placed on a vessel using the holder according to the invention in such a way that one end of the object rests on the support formed by the web of the holder according to the invention and the object rests on the edge of the vessel in an area opposite the holder with an area spaced from the end of the object resting on the support.
[0019] It is particularly advantageous, for example, if a spoon is placed against a jar, such as a jar of jam or honey, using the holder according to the invention, because the spoon's bowl can be positioned inside the jar, allowing the substance adhering to the bowl, such as the contents of the jar, to drip or run off into the jar. This also applies to kitchen utensils placed on the edge of a cookware container, since food particles adhering to the utensils cannot reach the stove or kitchen countertop, but instead fall into the cookware.
[0020] Further details and advantages of the holder according to the invention will become apparent from the following description of an exemplary embodiment with reference to the drawings. It shows: Fig. 1in oblique view a holder, Fig. 2the holder from Fig. 1 in another view, Fig. 3 the holder attached to the rim of a glass and Fig. 4 a holder attached to a glass with a fork.
[0021] One in the Fig. 1 and 2 The holder 1 shown is a bracket 2 with two legs 3 and a web 5 arranged between the legs 3. The web 5 connects the legs 3 to one another.
[0022] The free ends 6 of the legs 3, which are remote from the web 3, have hooks 4. The hooks 4 are bent ends 6 of the legs 3. It is provided that the hooks 4 are arranged on the side of the legs 3 facing away from the web 5 of the bracket.
[0023] The areas 7 of the legs 3 adjacent to the web 5 are aligned at an angle of the order of 90° to the areas 8 of the legs 3 carrying the hooks 4.
[0024] As the Fig. 1 and 2show, the legs 3 have loop-like bent areas 9. With these loop-like areas 9, the holder 1 is supported on the inside of a vessel 10, as shown in Fig. 3 shown using the example of a jar of jam or honey.
[0025] There is a risk of Fig. 1 bis 3 shown embodiment of the holder 1, it is possible to give the holder 1 a shape which causes the holder 1 to be attached to the edge 11 of the glass 10 with prestress.
[0026] The web of the bracket 2, which forms a support for the holder 1, is curved, with the concave side of the curvature of the web 5 lying on the side of the hooks 4 on the webs 3. The curvature of the web 5 improves and secures the hold of a piece of cutlery placed on the holder 1 (cf. Fig. 4 ).
[0027] The holder can be made of virtually any material. The material, a rod-shaped body, is, for example, a plastic rod or a metal wire. According to the invention, the holder 1 is formed as a single piece. The holder 1 can be manufactured by repeatedly bending and bending the rod-shaped material (e.g., wire).
[0028] A rod-shaped material with a (circular) round cross-section (rod or wire) is advantageous. Only in the area of the ends 6 of the legs 3, which are bent into hooks 4, can the rod-shaped material have a flattened, for example rectangular, cross-section. A flattened cross-sectional shape of the hooks 4 allows the holder 1 to be attached to the edge of a container in such a way that a lid can be placed, e.g., screwed onto the container. Attaching a lid is made easier if the hooks 4 are also narrow.
[0029] The material of the holder is preferably corrosion-resistant or provided with a corrosion-protective coating. Although the invention is explained above using a fork as an example, the use of the holder is not limited to forks or other cutlery items. Rather, the holder according to the invention can also be used for elongated objects, such as kitchen utensils and / or painting and masonry tools, to place them within the rim of a container, such as a cookware.
