AI Technical Summary
The existing bayonet connection systems for light guides in the automotive field are prone to breakage due to torsional stresses during assembly and disassembly, and they are not suitable for frequent use, as they require complex systems or tools, and can cause size issues due to the volume swept in rotation.
A removable connection device with an articulated locking element that can rotate more than 45°, allowing for manual control and locking of the light guide without friction or hard contact, featuring a hinge connection to the receptacle and a locking mechanism that moves between two positions to facilitate easy assembly and disassembly, reducing torsional stress and allowing for multiple cycles without damage.
The solution enables robust and reliable optical transmission modules that can be assembled and disassembled multiple times without breaking, reducing the risk of damage to the light guide or receptacle, and allows for weight reduction by eliminating metal parts, facilitating easier maintenance and replacement of light sources.
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of optical coupling between a light source and the input of a light guide. The invention relates to a removable connection device for a light guide and to a use of this device in a motor vehicle.
[0002] Solutions are known, for example from document US 5732176, for inserting a coupling end of a light guide into a socket. The socket is part of a receptacle containing the light source. The light-conducting cable ends with a connection end piece provided with two bayonet lugs which engage in corresponding slots formed in the socket (as clearly visible in particular on the figures 1-3 and 13 of this document). EP1482340A2 discloses a module that has a housing with a connection port for connection with an external fiber optic cable connector. A locking unit locks the housing in a cage when the connector is connected to the connection port, after the housing has been inserted into the cage to a predefined position. The locking unit unlocks the housing from the cage when the connector is disconnected from the connection port.
[0003] Miniaturization, particularly in the automotive sector, is leading to the use of narrow light guides with an increasingly smaller connection end section, for example not exceeding 5 or 6 mm in maximum width. Mounting and dismounting the light guide weakens it. The bayonet connection system is not satisfactory because torsional stresses are then applied to the light guide, with a high risk of breakage. It is therefore often observed during disassembly or reassembly that the light guide breaks, particularly in the area where it joins the end piece or near this area. This is all the more troublesome since, in the automotive sector as for other applications, it is frequently required to be able to mount and dismount a light guide on the associated socket at least five times (typically to replace the light source contained in the receptacle).
[0004] In addition, the bayonet mounting generates a space requirement problem due to the volume swept in rotation by the module.
[0005] There is therefore a need for a solution for mounting and dismounting a light guide that can limit the torsional stresses required to insert and fix the light guide connection end piece, without complicating the system or requiring tools.
[0006] The invention therefore aims to improve the situation and proposes for this purpose a removable connection device for a light guide defined in claim 1.
[0007] As is customary in this field, "removable connection" is understood here to mean that the light guide is mounted reversibly without damaging the receptacle or the locking element or damaging the light guide. In particular, the locking element of the removable connection device can be moved from one position to the other as many times as desired, and generally at least five times. This is particularly useful in the case where an operator wants to check the location of a fault and change the defective component (failure of the light source for example, which requires replacement).
[0008] The term "articulated" is taken here in its usual sense, so that the locking element is movable with a relative angular displacement with respect to the receptacle via an articulation, typically a hinge, this displacement being permitted without it being necessary to deform the locking element. Moreover, this locking element may be essentially rigid. The locking element may be designed and arranged to rotate more than 45°, preferably more than 90°, around the axis (at least once, for example to reach the first position).
[0009] Thanks to these provisions, it is possible to manually control the angular position of the locking element and to bring the latter into the second position which locks the coupling after inserting the light guide into the female connection part which defines the socket. The positioning can be done directly without friction or hard contact in the socket, the holding in position resulting from the folding of the locking member.
[0010] The locking element may be hinged to a housing portion of the receptacle to enable locking of the connection in a folded end position, after mounting the guide in a less folded mounting position of the locking element.
[0011] According to the claimed invention, the locking element is: articulated around an axis defined by a connecting hinge between the locking element and the receptacle; and adapted to come into abutment on the receptacle in said first position while having a predefined angular position in which the locking member is further away from the cavity than in the second position.
[0012] According to a feature, the locking member can define a guide surface in the first position, in which this locking member is further from the cavity than in the second position. The guide surface is formed externally to the socket by the locking member, in alignment with the internal face of this socket. This makes it possible to lengthen the guide to obtain the correct insertion position of the light guide.
[0013] According to a particular feature, the receptacle has, externally to the female connection part, a contact stop on which, in the first position of the locking element, an indexing surface carried by or formed on the locking element rests, so as to limit below a determined threshold of less than 50°, preferably less than 30°, a rotation of the locking element around the axis between said first position and said second position. This makes it possible to limit the movement of the locking element during assembly / disassembly operations, the first position making it possible to shift the locking member sufficiently to extract the light guide, with, in addition, a favorable guiding effect.
[0014] A removable connecting device according to the invention may comprise one or more of the following characteristics: the female connecting part has a determined perimeter and, in the second position, the locking element has, around the central axis of the female connecting part, a circumferential extension greater than half of the determined perimeter to surround more than one third of the female connecting part, preferably to surround the entire female connecting part. an actuatable portion of the receptacle is provided on the receptacle to trigger the passage from the second position to the first position of the locking element, the actuatable portion and a hinge defining the articulation of the locking element being distributed diametrically opposite with respect to the female connecting part.the second position is mechanically locked by the locking element crossing, in a first direction going towards the cavity, a projecting relief provided on an actuable portion of the receptacle, the projecting relief being adapted to axially block the locking element in the second position. the actuable portion of the receptacle comprises or is defined by an elastic clipping tab which extends parallel to the longitudinal direction and has the projecting relief on a face oriented towards the female connection part, this projecting relief having a convex apex adapted to engage on the indexing surface, which is preferably concave, in order to form the radial contact stop in the first position and limit the rotation of the locking element. a hinge allowing the locking element to be rotated has an elastic return effect in order to automatically urge the locking element at least towards the first position, from the second position in response to an unlocking action exerted on the actuable portion; thanks to this arrangement, the projecting relief can be crossed by the locking element in a second direction opposite to the first direction,to move from the second position to the first position, for example as soon as an operator pushes the elastic tab in order to disengage the projecting relief from a rim or gripping edge defined by the locking element. in a bent position of the elastic tab, obtained by a pushing action on an actuating end or other suitable support zone of this tab to unlock the second position: either the convex apex of the projecting relief is offset relative to the trajectory of the indexing surface during the elastic return of the locking element by the hinge,so as not to limit the rotational movement of the locking element; this option may be preferred to avoid any radial support of the locking element against the light guide which could hinder the disengagement of this guide from the connecting part; or the convex apex of the projecting relief is on the trajectory of the indexing surface during the elastic return of the locking element by the hinge, so as to limit the rotational movement of the locking element and obtain the first position; this latter option may be preferred to avoid any radial support of the locking element against the light guide which could hinder the disengagement of this guide from the connecting part. unlocking of the second position can be actuated by an actuation portion located entirely outside the interior volume defined by the receptacle, and entirely outside the coupling housing at least in the first position. the female connecting part is in the form of a socket, extending longitudinally around the central axis which passes through the opening, and which projects outwards relative to an external face of the receptacle perpendicular to the central axis. the locking member is opposite the opening in the first position and inserted through the opening in the second position. the coupling housing has a determined passage section, defined on the side of the opening, knowing that the locking member reduces the determined passage section in the second position, such that the light guide can be selectively inserted into the first position but not into a further folded position of the locking element corresponding substantially to the second position. the locking element further has releasably engaging means for releasably engaging the receptacle in said second position, the releasably engaging means engaging the receptacle at a distance from the coupling housing. the releasably engaging means comprise a stop surface facing away from the cavity of the receptacle in the second position of the locking element, the receptacle comprises an elastic clipping tab engaging against the abutment surface in the second position of the locking element. the locking element extends annularly around the female connecting part in both the first position and the second position. the female connecting part has a longitudinal slot parallel to a central axis of the female connecting part, intended to receive a projecting relief formed on the light guide, the longitudinal slot having a bottom proximal to the cavity and two opposite edges which extend from the bottom to an axial outlet of the slot, the locking member, which forms a projection projecting radially inwards from an internal face of the locking element, is aligned longitudinally with the slot in the second position facing the bottom of the slot, the locking member being retracted on the side of one of the two opposite edges in the first position. an electroluminescent element is placed in the cavity of the receptacle according to the claimed invention to form all or part of the light source and having a general lighting direction parallel or coincident with a longitudinal axis of the female connection part. the locking element and the receptacle are connected to each other by an elastic hinge integrated in a plastic part, the locking element and all or part of the receptacle belonging to said plastic part. the locking element is designed separately from the receptacle, the articulation being obtainable in a mounted / assembled state of the locking element on the receptacle. the locking element extends externally to the receptacle. the female connection part extends longitudinally around a central axis and comprises a longitudinal guide portion for the light guide,as well as first rotation indexing means formed in the longitudinal guide portion, adapted to cooperate with a relief formed on the light guide. the locking member defines a second rotation indexing means, which is placed opposite the opening and longitudinally offset outwards relative to the opening in said first position.
[0015] Another object of the invention is to propose an optical transmission module of robust design which does not cause breakage of the guide after several assembly / disassembly cycles.
[0016] For this purpose, an optical transmission module is proposed, comprising the removable connection device according to the invention and a light guide made at least partly in the form of a light-conducting rod provided with a coupling end, a connected position of the coupling end in the coupling housing being locked by the locking member in the second position and unlocked in the first position for which the locking member is further away from the cavity than in said second position.
[0017] It is also proposed according to the invention to mount the removable connection device in a motor vehicle and to use this device to receive an optical guide of the type provided with a projecting relief formed laterally on a coupling end of the optical guide, the blocking member of the locking element being folded over the projecting relief in the second position of the locking element.
[0018] It is possible to make the connection of the connection end of the light guide without any metal part or layer, which facilitates weight reduction and allows for less expensive plastic designs.
[0019] Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear during the following description of several of its embodiments, given as non-limiting examples, with reference to the attached drawings in which: there figure 1 is a view through a section of a removable connecting device according to the invention; the figures 2A And 2B are respectively side and sectional views of an optical transmission module according to the invention, each showing a first position taken by an articulated mobile element of the device of the figure 1 before engaging the associated light guide; figures 2C et 2D are respective details illustrating a two-step clipping mode using an actuable elastic tab; the figure 3 is a sectional detail of an optical transmission module, showing a pre-clipped configuration of the moving element as in the figures 2A And 2B , and receiving the end of the light guide in the female connection part; the figure 4 is a top view of the optical transmission module of the figure 3 ; there figure 5 is a view of the optical transmission module of the figure 3 according to a cut perpendicular to that of the figure 3 , showing a second position taken by the articulated mobile element of the device of the figure 1 after engaging the light guide in order to lock the coupling; the figure 6 is a top view of the optical transmission module of the figure 5 ; THE figures 7A et 7B are respectively side and sectional views of the optical transmission module as in the figures 2A And 2B , each showing the second position taken by the articulated movable element of the device to lock the connection of the light guide.
[0020] In the various figures, the same references designate identical or similar elements.
[0021] There figure 1 represents a preferred embodiment of a removable connection device 1 for housing a light source 2. The device 1 has a receptacle 10, a locking element 3 hinged relative to the receptacle 10, a female connection part 4 and an elastic clipping tab 5. The receptacle 10 can optionally be divided into a base part 10a and a cover part 10b, connected together by a hinge and which assemble together to define a cavity C10. The light source 2 is placed and held fixedly in the cavity C10. As a non-limiting example, a light-emitting diode (LED) mounted on a printed circuit board 20 can define such a light source 2. The use of an electroluminescent element in the cavity C10 makes it possible to minimize the size of the receptacle 10, which here has a generally flattened format with the exception of the connection part 4 and the elastic tab 5.
[0022] The female connection part 4 and the elastic tab 5 are formed integrally with the receptacle 10 and can project in the same direction from a substantially planar external face 10c of the receptacle 10. More generally, the female connection part 4 and the elastic tab 5 can extend from a housing part 100 which makes it possible to define the cavity C10 and to receive the light source 2. The general lighting direction of this light source 2 is parallel or coincident with a central axis Z of the female connection part 4.
[0023] The locking element 3, unlike the connecting part 4, is articulated relative to the housing part 100 of the receptacle 10. The female connecting part 4 here extends around the central axis Z between an annular end 4a adjacent to the cavity C10 and a free end 4b. A passage, delimited by the annular end 4a, is made in the receptacle 10, substantially in the plane of the wall which defines the external face 10c. It is through this passage that the coupling housing L, defined by the connecting part 4, communicates with the cavity C10.
[0024] In reference to the figures 1 And 2B, opposite the annular end 4a, the female connection part 4 has an access opening 4c delimited by the free end 4b. This access opening 4c on the side opposite the cavity C10 allows the reception and extraction of a light guide 7 in the coupling housing L, respectively by insertion and extraction of one end of a light guide 7 through the access opening 4c.
[0025] The locking element 3 is here in the form of a fully or partially annular ring, articulated by a hinge 30 located near the junction between the female connection part 4 and the housing part 100. The initial, design position of the locking element 3 can be entirely offset to one side relative to the connection part 4, as seen in the figure 1 The locking element 3 extends between a pre-guide end 35 and a base end, here annular, intended to bear on the external face 10c in a fully folded configuration of the hinge 30.
[0026] In reference to the figure 3 , the annular end 4a of the female connection part 4 defines a cylindrical or other annular shaped bearing surface 40 to define a preferably sealed annular contact with a connection tip 6 of a light guide 7. Although the figure 3 shows a radial annular contact, this contact can also be axial. The connection end piece 6 has on the side of a front face an opening defining the inlet 60 of the light guide 7. A coupling end 9, formed by this end piece 6, constitutes the insertable male part of the light guide 7. The coupling end 9 is thus inserted and received in the female connection part 4.
[0027] The light guide 7 may optionally be combined with optical elements or be part of an optical part. In particular, the light guide 7 may have a structure different from the elongated one illustrated in the figures 2A-2B And 3 .
[0028] In a folded configuration different from its fully folded configuration, seen on the figures 2A à 4 , the locking element 3 may surround all or part of the female connection part 4. The pre-guiding end 35 may guide the insertion of the light guide 7, for example by a generally circular shape of this end 35 and by the presence of two locking members 14, 15 which limit the possibilities of rotation of the light guide 7 around the central axis Z or of inclination relative to this axis Z. For this, the pre-guiding end 35 may extend in front of the opening 4c and at a short distance, typically less than 5 or 10 mm, from the free end 4b of the female connection part 4. The elongation of the guide makes it possible to avoid any collision between the light guide 7 and the female connection part 4 during insertion.
[0029] In an advantageous embodiment, the coupling end 9 of the light guide 7 has two lugs 9a, 9b projecting radially outwards. This configuration can be achieved by minimizing the maximum external perimeter of the connection end piece 6. For example, this maximum external perimeter, which coincides with the position of the lugs 9a, 9b, can be less than 15 or 20 mm, while the minimum external perimeter of the light guide 7 can be less than 10 or 15 mm. In a variant, the number of lugs, similar reliefs or hollows formed in a swollen part of the coupling end 9 is not necessarily equal to two, and can be only one or greater than two.
[0030] More generally, it is understood that the coupling end 9 has a non-constant section, with at least one relief. The connecting part 4, of generally tubular shape, is designed with a complementary shape in its internal face to cooperate with the coupling end 9. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the female connecting part 4 defines an anti-rotation foolproof system allowing, by indexing the light guide 7 in rotation, to correctly position the lugs 9a, 9b or other functionally similar relief or shape facing a complementary imprint provided in the connecting part 4.
[0031] Thus, an operator cannot be mistaken in the category of light guide, given the required shape complementarity, and he can realize the unsuitability even before being able to tightly engage the coupling end 9. Moreover, for the assembly or disassembly of a suitable light guide 7, there is no need to exert significant torsional stresses on this guide because the light guide 7 is engaged in the female connection part 4 only by linear translation in the direction of the cavity C10.
[0032] On the figures 2A-2B And 3 , it can be seen that the female connection part 4 does not allow a bayonet type connection, and instead includes a complementary relief which does not involve a sudden change in the angular position of the coupling end 9. Here, as clearly visible on the figures 1 And 2B, two slots 11 or two hollow reliefs (recesses) are provided to receive the two lugs 9a, 9b. Each slot 11 here constitutes a longitudinal slot formed in the side wall of the female connection part 4, extending parallel to the central axis Z. The projecting relief, here the lug 9a or 9b is received in the slot 11, preferably until it abuts against a bottom 11a of the slot 11 which is proximal to the cavity C10. Each lug 9a, 9b is guided between the two opposite edges of the slot 11 which extend from the bottom 11a to an axial outlet 11b of the slot 11.
[0033] The locking element 3 can close the axial outlet 11b by means of at least one blocking member 14, 15, which here forms a projection projecting radially inwards from an inner face 13 of the locking element 3. The closing position of the axial outlet 11b can correspond, as visible in the figures 5 et 6 , at a position of the blocking member(s) 14, 15 which is as close as possible to the cavity C10.
[0034] On the figures 5 et 6 , it can be seen that two locking members 14, 15, positioned opposite each other, project inwards, one towards the other, in a direction parallel to the axis X of the hinge 30. The width of these locking members 14, 15 can be substantially the same as the width of the slots 11 and the lugs 9a, 9b. The radial extension of these projections 14, 15 is typically identical to that of the lugs 9a, 9b, while the height of these locking members 14, 15 can be at least equal to this radial extension or to the width, in order to optimize the elongated guidance allowed in a first position of the locking element 3.
[0035] The locking arrangement is compact, with here a maximum distance dm between the X axis of the hinge 30 and the elastic tab 5, measured perpendicular to the X and Z axes, which verifies the following relationship: D / dm ≥ 1 / 3 , and preferably D / dm ≥ 1 / 2 where D denotes the minimum internal diameter of the connecting part 4, measured at or near the free end 4b of the connecting part 4.
[0036] In other words, the space generated around the connection part 4 can remain reduced, knowing that the internal diameter D is generally less than or equal to 5 mm.
[0037] In reference to the figures 1 à 4 , the locking element 3 is hinged relative to the receptacle 10 by means of a hinge 30, here a plastic hinge. A single PP plastic part formed by molding can join the elements 3, 4, 5 and 10. In this case, the hinge which connects the cover part 10b to the base part 10a can be perpendicular to the hinge 30 allowing the locking element 3 to pivot and perpendicular to the central axis Z. Any suitable polymer, preferably of the thermoplastic type, can be used to form the plastic part.
[0038] In some alternative options, the locking element 3 may be a separately designed part, the articulation then being obtainable in a mounted state of this part on the receptacle 10.
[0039] Also in certain variants, the connection part 4 and / or the actuating portion here defined by the elastic tab 5 can be attached to the housing part 100 of the receptacle, for example by inserting / clipping longitudinally projecting tabs into slots provided on the cover part 10b or other type of connection.
[0040] The locking element 3, here provided with two blocking members 14 and 15, is folded down to reach a first position, in which this element 3 is close to the external face 10c defined by the receptacle 10. It is from this face 10c that the female connection part 4 projects. This folding down, from its initial position obtained during the molding of the device 1, is illustrated by the arrow A on the figure 1 . It is understood that, in the first position, the locking element 3 can be inserted between the female connection part 4 and the elastic tab 5 which extends on the same side as the connection part 4 relative to the external face 10c.
[0041] In reference to the figure 2B , one of the two opposite edges of the slot 11 can be extended forwards and be longer than the other edge to be closer, in the first position, to the pre-guiding end 35. This allows this longer edge 11d to cooperate with a locking member 14, 15, for the purpose of pre-guiding the connection end 9. Indeed, the lugs 9a, 9b must be pre-positioned to pass between a locking member 14, 15 and the end of a long edge 11d, before they can engage in the slot 11 in a fitted manner.
[0042] It may be noted that the two slots 11 provided here in the female connection part 4 are diametrically opposite and crossed by a virtual plane including the central axis Z and parallel to the axis X defined by the hinge 30. According to this arrangement, it is advantageous to provide a beveled edge BB for access to each slot 11, this beveled edge BB joining an edge of the slot 11 which is the shorter edge. Each beveled edge BB deflects, from the short edge, towards a side closer to the hinge 30. With this arrangement, interference with a locking member 14, 15 is avoided, which can be moved with the locking element 3 into a position for closing the axial opening 11b of the slot 11. The locking member 14, 15 is then held between the long edge 11d and the beveled edge BB, as long as the locking element 3 is retained by the elastic tab 5 in a locked configuration.
[0043] The first position, illustrated on the figures 2A-2B , 3 et 4 , corresponds to a position in which the locking element 3 is folded around the female connection part 4, while maintaining a general inclination relative to the central axis Z. The first position is obtained when the locking element 3 is engaged against a retaining member, preferably a projecting relief 50, formed on the receptacle 10 outside the female connection part 4. This retaining member is here defined in the elastic tab 5. The abutting engagement against this retaining member makes it possible to stop, without blocking it, the rotation of the locking element 3 due to an increase in friction, so that the locking element 3 is located in a predefined angular position, corresponding to the first position, in which the hinge 30 is not in the completely folded state. Here, relative to a second position corresponding to the maximum folded state of the hinge 30 (second position visible on the . figures 5 à 7B ), there is still a difference, here of approximately 15°, before reaching this fully folded state. Due to this difference, the locking member(s) 14, 15 are further away from the cavity C10 than in the second position, so that each slot 11 remains accessible in the first position. The angle of 15° is given as a non-limiting example, knowing that it may be preferable to reduce this angle to less than 20 or 30° in order to limit the travel of the locking element 3 to reach the second position from the first predefined position.
[0044] On the other hand, as illustrated on the figure 5 in the second position, each locking member 14, 15 is sufficiently close to the corresponding slot 11 to interfere with the axial outlet 11b and oppose the withdrawal of the coupling end 9, by locking in the slots 11 of the lugs 9a, 9b. The second position is obtained by a thrust force exerted axially in the direction of the cavity C10, on the end 35 of the locking element 3. The locking member(s) 14, 15, here in the form of two diametrically opposed members, then prevent the withdrawal of the light guide 7 already inserted, because the second position of the locking element 3 is a clipped position.
[0045] In this example, there is a two-step decomposition to obtain the second position from the initial position shown on the figure 1 : first the locking element 3 is pivoted to surround the connection part 4, here with a rotation of more than 120° in this non-limiting embodiment in order to obtain the first position which allows the insertion of the light guide 7, then after the insertion of the guide 7 the locking element 3 is pushed completely against the external face 10c while finishing folding the hinge 30.
[0046] The insertion of the light guide 7 is carried out in a simple and direct manner, in a longitudinal guide portion of the connection part 4. The absence of jolt or collision results from a first indexing allowed by first rotational indexing means (11, 11a) formed in this longitudinal guide portion, here in the form of two slots 11 with a stop bottom 11a. Each relief or lug 9a, 9b of the connection end 9 may have rounded angles on the front edge, which facilitates entry into the corresponding slot 11.
[0047] The use of two locking members 14, 15 is preferred here in order to better perform a rotation indexing function upstream of the opening 4c. The locking member(s) 14, 15 thus form a second rotation indexing means, here placed opposite the opening 4c and longitudinally offset outwards relative to this opening 4c in the first position.
[0048] Once the connecting end 9 is inserted and engaged against the bottom 11a of the slots 11, the locking of the second position results from the clipping action between the locking element 3 and an actuable portion of the receptacle 10, typically produced in the form of an elastic tab 5 which extends parallel to the connecting part 4. A spacing zone E is then provided between the connecting part 4 and the elastic tab 5 to allow the locking element 3 to be pushed further than the first position. As illustrated in the figure 7B , the mechanical locking results from the insertion of an edge 19 of the locking element 3 into the gap E and the crossing by a part 26 of the locking element 3 (crossing with frictional contact) of a projecting relief 50 provided on the elastic tab 5 or comparable actuable portion. The projecting relief 50 here projects towards the female connection part 4 from a face of the elastic tab 5.
[0049] Near the hinge 30 and / or in other areas around the connecting part 4, the locking element 3 may bear by a base 24 against the face 10c of the receptacle 10. The locking element 3 may further have a rim or engagement edge 22, oriented opposite to the base 24 and on which an axial abutment surface 25 defined by the projecting relief 50 can engage, only when the locking element 3 has been pushed completely into the second position. This engagement edge 22 is formed on the part 26 which crosses the projecting relief 50. In other words, in the second position, the part 26 of the locking element 3 is wedged between the external face 10c on the side of its base 24 and the axial abutment surface 25, which is well illustrated in particular on the figures 2D And 7B .
[0050] In a preferred embodiment, the locking element 3 does not add bulk in the longitudinal direction in the second position. The elastic tab 5 may protrude further than the connecting portion 4 to facilitate access to an actuating end 5a.
[0051] The indexing surface 33 shown on the figure 2C has a concave curvature which makes it possible to increase the friction against the projecting relief 50 as one approaches a complete folding of the hinge 30. At the end of this axial thrust, exerted while the light guide 7 has been completely inserted into the coupling housing L, the locking of the second position is obtained with the engagement of the gripping edge 22 against the axial stop surface 25 of the projecting relief 50.
[0052] More generally, the locking element 3 may have any type of removable securing means in order to enter into a locked relationship on the receptacle 10, in a removable manner in the second position. Such removable securing means engage on the receptacle 10 at a distance from the coupling housing L, and for this purpose define a stop surface.
[0053] Although the abutment surface is illustrated as a non-protruding gripping edge 22 in the figures (see in particular the figures 2B , 2C , 2D And 7B), and placed here behind the indexing surface 33 and therefore further from the edge 19, it is understood that the location and shape of the stop surface can vary. As an example of a variant (not shown), the removable securing means can be produced in the form of a deformable tab projecting outwards or forming a free end of the locking element 3, which engages through a window defined in an anchoring element of the receptacle 10 in the second position. The tab then defines, as in the case of the rim or gripping edge 22, a stop surface oriented opposite the cavity C10, abutting against an upper edge of the window. Pressing on one end of the tab which projects from the window can allow the tab to be deformed sufficiently to allow disengagement from the window and thus unlock the second position.
[0054] Obtaining the first position can be achieved in this case by engaging the tab in a shallow groove formed higher than the window in the anchoring element, which allows the locking element 3 to be retained.
[0055] Examples of unlocking the second position, by using the elastic tab 5 or similar actuable portion, will now be described with reference to figures 2D And 5 has 7B .
[0056] In reference to the figure 2D , the elastic tab 5 can be flexed via a pushing action (arrow B) on an actuating end 5a or other suitable support area of this elastic tab 5 to unlock the second position. The groove or slot 55 provided in the actuating end 5a of the elastic tab 5 can allow the nail or a fingertip of the operator to engage and push the elastic tab towards the side opposite the connecting part 4. This option makes it possible to limit the spacing E, while having direct access to a gripping area of the actuating end 5a.
[0057] Of course, the actuating end 5a can be made differently depending on the integration possibilities of the connection device. Furthermore, in variants, it can be provided to actuate the withdrawal of the projecting relief 50 differently, for example by an action in a remote area, by tilting or by linear translation.
[0058] Alternatively, magnetic attraction may also be provided, by using a small piece of ferromagnetic material or a composite layer (including ferromagnetic particles) forming part of the locking element 3. The magnetic attraction in the first position and / or in the second position may allow the locking element 3 to be suitably held in a desired folded configuration. It is understood that the first position may be left and the second position reached by axially pushing on the locking element 3, while the second position may be unlocked by moving the magnetic member formed on the elastic tab 5 or other actuable portion.
[0059] Unlocking the second position preferably triggers an automatic return to the first position, by the elastic return effect exerted by the hinge 30. The part 26 of the locking element 3 moves from the second position shown in the figure 2D at the first position shown on the figure 2C We typically find this first position which allows the withdrawal of the guide 7, due to the friction of the indexing surface 33 against the radial contact stop CB defined by the projecting relief 50.
[0060] The locking element 3 may, if appropriate, have at least one lateral rim 38 which provides a grip for exerting a pulling force on the locking element 3. A pulling action by the rim 38, combined with a slight bending of the elastic tab 5, makes it possible to disengage the part 26 without having to move the projecting relief 50 too much. This arrangement can help to avoid excessively bending the elastic tab 5 to obtain a return to the first position, without completely eliminating the frictional contact of the projecting relief 50 against the part 26.
[0061] Some advantages of the present invention in its embodiments will be mentioned below.
[0062] A removable connection device 1 can be designed in a single PP part, which makes it economical to manufacture, without additional actuating member. It presents ergonomics for the operator having to carry out the assembly and disassembly of the light guide. It is possible to move from the first position to the second position without tools and with a small travel, which limits the fatigue of the hinge 30.
[0063] The use of clipping makes it possible to ensure with certainty that the locking has been obtained. In addition, the solution is particularly compact since it occupies a space close to the volume already occupied by the female connection part 4.
[0064] In reference to the figures 2B And 6, it is possible to produce an optical transmission module M which allows multiple disassemblies in an easy and robust manner. The light guide 7 can be used in a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle, by being mounted internally in thin elements of the vehicle, for example a door, interior trim panels or elements of a dashboard. The light guide 7 can be produced partly in the form of a light-conducting rod provided with a coupling end 9 which can be simple in design, without requiring additional metal parts for the connection.
[0065] The invention is in no way limited to the embodiments described and illustrated, which have been given only as examples. It should be obvious to those skilled in the art that the present invention allows embodiments in many other specific forms without departing from the scope of the invention as claimed.
[0066] Thus, although the drawings show the case of a clip or relief 50 projecting on the elastic tongue 5, cooperating with a hollow cavity or surface 33 formed on the part 26, it is understood that this arrangement can be reversed, with a projecting member on the side of the part 26 of the locking element 3 and a hollow on the side of the tongue 5.
[0067] Furthermore, any other form of clipping is permitted between the locking element 3 and the receptacle 10, the tab 5 being able for example to be replaced by a hole in the receptacle 10.
