Description

[0001] The present invention falls within the technical field of mechanical design and assembly of bicycle and two-wheeler frames, as well as their disassembly.

[0002] The invention relates more particularly to a removable bicycle frame tube that can be assembled or disassembled relative to a fitting on the frame. The removable tube of the invention is, for example, a horizontal tube, a diagonal tube, or a seat tube. The invention also relates to removable bicycle frame bases.

[0003] As is known in the prior art, the connection and mechanical cohesion between certain components of a bicycle (notably the crankset, wheels, fork, and saddle) is ensured by a frame. A bicycle frame comprises a front triangle and a rear triangle, generally formed by straight tubes.

[0004] Most bicycle models feature a frame with tubes permanently joined together, usually by welding or brazing. The frame tubes can be made of metallic materials such as steel alloys, titanium, aluminum, etc. Cylindrical sleeves may reinforce the joints between the tubes.

[0005] These standard frame tube fixing techniques make it possible to obtain a bicycle frame with satisfactory strength and mechanical integrity.

[0006] However, the shape of the triangles in such a frame is not adaptable, since the relative positions of the tubes cannot be changed. It is not possible to adjust the dimensions and architecture of the frame for different uses (standard, cargo, fat bike, electric bike, etc.) or to adapt to the evolving needs of the user, nor to switch from a closed frame to an open frame, for example.

[0007] Furthermore, to address the increasingly crucial challenges of sustainable development and responsible consumption of materials, it is desirable to extend the life cycle of the bicycle frame by encouraging the repair and reuse of its components.

[0008] However, conventional frames do not adequately address these challenges. Not only is repairing an isolated frame component difficult, but disassembling the frame and reconditioning its individual parts can also be tricky.

[0009] Bicycle frames with partially or fully detachable front and / or rear triangles have been proposed in the prior art. The tube assembly of these frames works, for example, by inserting a tube into a fitting and then clamping it with quick-release fasteners, or by inserting a tube into a fitting and then tightening it by screwing from either inside or outside the fitting.

[0010] For example, the document published under number IT 1 045 954 B describes a demountable bicycle or motorcycle frame comprising unit tubular elements. One end of each unit tube has both internal and external threads. The external threads of the tube fit into a recessed fitting, while the internal threads of the tube receive a tubular clamping tool coaxial with the tube and the recessed fitting.

[0011] This patent document highlights the improved mechanical strength of the connection between the removable tube and its tube fitting. However, screwing and unscrewing the three aforementioned separate mechanical components is quite complex.

[0012] The document published under number FR 55429 E describes a bicycle frame assembled without welding, using removable tubes with one end housing a second, cone-shaped tube, complementary in shape to sleeves with a similarly conical recess and internal threads. The tube and fitting are secured by bolting them inside the sleeve.

[0013] We can also note the publication of patent number FR 867 816 A ,relating to a bicycle frame assembled without welding whose mechanical components (threaded rods and sleeves) are assembled together by a tight fit, and by the use of an additional fastening tool which has a truncated conical sleeve and a threaded rod at both ends.

[0014] The bicycle frames described in the documents cited above have the advantage of being able to be assembled without welding or brazing.

[0015] However, the cohesion and mechanical strength of these known detachable bicycle frames may, in some cases, be insufficient. Furthermore, the assembly and disassembly of these bicycle frames remains complex, particularly with regard to the methods described in the documents cited above, which require either bolting, press fitting, or coaxial screwing of at least three separate mechanical components.

[0016] Document BE 488707 A also describes a tubular light alloy part such as a handlebar stem and frame fitting for cycles formed of two semi-tubular parts joined together and assembled by interlocking and clamping rings.

[0017] The problems mentioned above are not satisfactorily solved by state-of-the-art bicycle structures.

[0018] There is currently a need for a detachable frame tube that can be used to create an adaptable bicycle frame, easy for the user to assemble and disassemble, with quick assembly ideally taking less than twenty minutes, or even less than ten. Disassembly of the desired bicycle frame must also be easy and accessible to the end user. Specifically, the assembly and disassembly process must not require welding or brazing.

[0019] In particular, we want to be able to adapt a bicycle frame to allow for various uses: standard bicycle, "cargo" bicycle, "fatbike" bicycle, and we also want to be able to easily switch from a mode without electric assistance to a mode with electric assistance by connecting or disconnecting an electric battery to the frame.

[0020] We also want to be able to easily repair or replace the frame components.

[0021] The desired adaptable bicycle frame must also maintain excellent mechanical strength and good durability in all its modes of use.

[0022] There is an additional need for a demountable and adaptable bicycle frame that is made from reliable and eco-designed materials, has a moderate carbon footprint, and is easy to manufacture and moderately costly.

[0023] To meet these needs, the Applicant designed and implemented a removable frame tube that can be removably connected to a bicycle frame fitting. A coaxial clamping system can be used between the removable tube and the frame fitting. This coaxial clamping is easy, quick, and reversible.

[0024] Thus, the invention comprises a removable tube for a bicycle frame, said tube extending longitudinally along an axis and comprising an outer wall, said tube comprising at least one fixing ring which comprises an internal radial ring surface extending in a ring around the outer wall along the axis, and defining a radial space open outwards between the outer wall of the tube and the internal radial ring surface; said radial space being provided to receive a frame fitting; said fixing ring further comprising internal fixing means at the level of the internal radial surface, configured to be removably fixed to external fixing means of the fitting.

[0025] Thanks to the fixing ring included in the detachable tube according to the invention, it is easy to securely assemble the tube to a frame fitting and then to disassemble it later, by coaxially tightening the fixing ring with the fitting.

[0026] A detachable tube according to the invention may further have the following optional and non-limiting characteristics, taken alone or in any of the technically possible combinations: The internal fastening means of the retaining ring include internal threads complementary to external threads of the fitting. The retaining ring includes a connecting end designed to face the fitting. The retaining ring further includes a ring base located axially opposite said connecting end, the internal fastening means being positioned on the side of the connecting end. The tube further includes a clamping wedge, the ring base including a support stop for pressing against said clamping wedge and interposing said clamping wedge between the tube and the retaining ring. The ring base includes at least one disassembly groove configured to allow removal of the clamping wedge, preferably with the aid of an extractor tool. The retaining ring is movable in translation relative to the tube along the longitudinal axis of the tube, and is preferably removable from the tube.

[0027] The invention relates to an adaptable bicycle frame according to claim 1.

[0028] An adaptable bicycle frame according to the invention may further have the following optional and non-limiting characteristics, taken alone or in any of the technically possible combinations: The external fastening means of the fitting include external threads. The central recess of the fitting includes a frustoconical internal surface, configured to allow a clamping wedge to be inserted against said frustoconical internal surface between the removable tube and the fitting. The retaining ring is in a disassembled state relative to the removable tube, the removable tube then being without a retaining ring. The frame includes a seat tube as defined above according to the first aspect and / or a top tube as defined above according to the first aspect, the frame fitting being a seat fitting designed to removably assemble said seat tube with said top tube. The frame comprises a fork, a top tube as defined above according to the first aspect, and / or a down tube as defined above according to the first aspect. The frame fitting is a headset fitting designed to removably assemble the fork with at least one of the top tube and / or the down tube. The frame comprises two chainstays, a seat tube as defined above according to the first aspect, and / or a down tube as defined above according to the first aspect. The frame fitting is a chainstay fitting designed to removably assemble the chainstays with at least one of the seat tube and / or the down tube. At least one of the two chainstays includes a side plate with at least one fixing screw to the other chainstay located opposite it, preferably three fixing screws to said other chainstay. At least one of the two chainstays includes an additional fixing screw to the chainstay fitting.

[0029] According to a third aspect, the invention relates to an adaptable bicycle frame comprising a base fitting onto which two bases are removably attached.

[0030] At least the said bases include a side flank which includes means for passing at least one fixing and tightening screw onto the base fitting.

[0031] The invention also relates to a bicycle comprising an adaptable bicycle frame as defined in claim 1.

[0032] Other features and advantages will become apparent in the detailed description that follows, of a non-limiting example of an embodiment of the invention illustrated by the figures 1 to 10 attached and in which: [ Fig.1 ] represents a bicycle frame according to an embodiment of the invention, said frame being viewed from the side in an assembled state; [ Fig. 2[ ] is a close-up cross-sectional view of the junction area between a horizontal tube and a seat tube of the bicycle frame of the Figure 1 , in its assembled state, on which a fixing ring, a clamping wedge and a seat tube fitting have been illustrated in particular, according to an example; [ Fig. 3 ] is an exploded perspective view of several elements of a bicycle frame according to an embodiment of the invention, at the junction between a horizontal tube and a seat tube; [ Fig. 4 ] is a perspective view of the elements of the Figure 3 in an assembled state, with the exception of a clamping wedge shown in an exploded view for illustrative purposes; [ Fig. 5 ] is a close-up cross-sectional view of the junction of the diagonal tube and the horizontal tube of the bicycle frame of the Figure 1 , on which a steering fitting is visible; [ Fig. 6[ ] is a close-up cross-sectional view of the junction of the seat tube and the down tube of the bicycle frame of the Figure 1 , on which the base fitting is visible; [ Fig. 7 ] is a partial side view of the frame bases, near the base joint, on the side of a first lateral flank; [ Fig. 8 ] is a partial lateral view of said bases from the side of a second lateral flank; [ Fig. 9 ] is a view similar to the figure 7 corresponding to a second embodiment; [ Fig. 10 ] is a partial view of the figure 9 , one of the bases having been removed.

[0033] A modular and adaptive frame for a two-wheeled vehicle, such as a bicycle, is described below. It comprises detachable tubes connected via fittings. A coaxial adaptive clamping system can be easily and reversibly implemented between at least one tube and a fitting, at at least one tube end.

[0034] In this respect, with reference to the Figure 1 , An adaptable bicycle frame, according to an example embodiment, comprises a removable top tube 1, a removable seat tube 1", and a removable down tube 1". The top tube, seat tube, and down tube form a front triangle. The frame also includes a lower section 6, preferably formed by a pair of removable chainstays 60.

[0035] The top tube 1 and the seat tube 1" are removably joined together on a seat fitting 4. The top tube 1 and the down tube 1" are removably joined together on a head tube fitting 4". Finally, the seat tube 1" and the down tube 1" are removably joined together on a chainstay fitting 4".

[0036] The following is described, with reference to the Figure 2 , the connection between, on the one hand, the horizontal tube 1 and its fixing ring 2, and on the other hand, the seat fitting 4. The characteristics of the connection between the tube 1, the ring 2, the spacer 3 and the fitting 4 are transposable to the fixing ring of the left end of the horizontal tube 1. The characteristics of the connection are also transposable to the fixing ring of the lower end of the seat tube 1', and to the fixing rings of the two ends of the diagonal tube 1", as will be seen below.

[0037] The tube 1 is preferably generally cylindrical in shape, here hollow. The tube 1 extends along a longitudinal axis A. The exterior of the tube 1 is delimited by an external wall 12. The tube 1 is preferably formed from a metallic material, such as an aluminum alloy, and / or steel, and / or titanium, etc.

[0038] The fixing ring 2 is complementary to the fitting 4 and allows a removable connection of the tube 1 to the fitting 4. This ring 2, which is preferably completely removable in relation to the tube 1, can be attached around the wall 12.

[0039] The ring 2 extends radially in a ring around the wall 12 of the tube 1. In addition, the ring 2 extends axially from a ring base 28 (on the side furthest from the fitting 4) to a fitting end 26 (on the side closest to the fitting 4).

[0040] On the radially inner side, the base of the ring 28 can be pressed directly against the wall 12 of the tube. Once the tube 1 is inserted into the ring 2, a radial space 22 is provided between the wall 12 and the internal radial surface 24 of the ring 2, on the end side 26.

[0041] The radial space 22 thus defined between the tube 1 and the ring 2 is open to the outside, on the side of the fitting 4. The radial space 22 is provided to receive in a removable manner one end of the fitting 4 comprising external fixing means (here external threads 40) complementary to the internal fixing means of the ring 2. Thus, the fitting constitutes a "male" end and the ring constitutes a "female" end.

[0042] Using the two tips, ring 2 can be screwed removably onto fitting 4 by coaxial tightening.

[0043] On the inner side, the ring 2 also has internal fixing means 20 preferably positioned on the internal radial surface 24, suitable for cooperating mechanically with the external fixing means of the fitting 4.

[0044] In the present example, the internal fastening means of the ring 2 are formed by internal threads 20. The internal threads 20 here have the same thread pitch as the external threads 40 of the fitting 4. However, other removable mechanical fastening means could be considered as replacements or in combination with the internal threads 20.

[0045] The seat fitting 4, for example, has a generally angled or T-shaped form. A first vertical recess is formed in the fitting 4 for the through passage of the seat tube 1'. To secure the seat tube 1' in the fitting 4, the upper end of the tube 1' has a screw 50 in this example. The screw 50 can be inserted into a lower part of the fitting 4. The screw 50 has an opening for the passage of a fixing screw 52. When the screw 50 abuts against the fitting 4, the fixing screw 52 can be inserted through the screw 50 and into the fitting 4.

[0046] A second horizontal recess is formed here in the fitting 4 for the insertion of a straight end of the horizontal tube 1. This second recess 42 opens preferentially into a bore which allows the insertion of at least one electrical cable.

[0047] On its left end, the fitting 4 has a substantially cylindrical distal surface extending around the horizontal recess 42. This distal surface includes the external fastening means (here, the external threads 40). Moving to the right from this distal surface, the fitting 4, in this example, increases in diameter to a central surface of the fitting 4. Preferably, this central portion of the fitting 4 has the same outside diameter as the connecting end 26 of the ring 2. Thus, the central portion of the fitting is designed to extend in line with the connecting end 26 of the ring.

[0048] Advantageously and preferentially, the tube 1 and the ring 2 are associated with a clamping wedge 3 specifically designed to hold the tube 1 in position in the fitting 4.

[0049] Clamping wedge 3 is then configured to be inserted: on the one hand in the radial space 22, between the ring 2 and the wall 12 of the tube 1, around the wall 12, and on the other hand in the horizontal recess 42, between the fitting 4 and said wall 12.

[0050] The clamping wedge 3 is shown in perspective on the exploded views of the Figures 3 and 4 attached. As shown in these figures, in this example, the clamping wedge has a hollow frustoconical shape. Depending on the orientation of the Figures 1 to 4 , the base of this truncated cone is located on the left side (support on ring 2) and the apex of this truncated cone is located on the right side (support on fitting 4).

[0051] Here, the hold 3 consists of two half-hulls 34 joined at the level of two straight joining edges 36.

[0052] In conjunction with the clamping wedge 3, the central recess 42 of the fitting 4 advantageously includes a frustoconical internal surface 44 with the same slope as the external surface of the wedge 3. The frustoconical internal surface 44 is configured so that the clamping wedge 3 rests against and is held in place by it. The external fastening means (here, the external threads 40) then extend radially around the frustoconical internal surface 44.

[0053] Preferably, ring 2 is configured to press clamping wedge 3 towards fitting 4, simultaneously with screwing ring 2 onto fitting 4.

[0054] To achieve this, the base 28 of the ring 2 preferably includes a stop 280 that presses against the base of the clamping wedge 3. The stop 280 axially delimits, on the left side, the radial space 22 into which the wedge is inserted. Here, the stop 280 forms a right angle with the wall 12 of the tube 1, and thus presses against the wedge 3 while the ring 2 is screwed in.

[0055] Preferably, the ring 2 also includes means for removing the shim 3. Here, the clamping shim 3 has a plurality of annular grooves 39 (here at least two grooves). The removal means, here the annular grooves 39 of the shim 3, allow the insertion of a tool, for example an extractor, and thus allow the removal of the clamping shim 3 during disassembly of the tube 1 and the fitting 4.

[0056] With reference to the Figure 5 ,The 4" steering head tube of the adaptable bicycle frame allows the connection of the horizontal tube 1" and the down tube 1". On its left end, the horizontal tube 1 includes a fixing ring 2, preferably similar to the one described above. The down tube 1" includes, on its left end, a similar fixing ring.

[0057] The steering joint 4' here has a general V shape. The steering joint 4' has a central arm 46 and two lateral hollow portions 47 extending on either side of the central arm 46.

[0058] As seen above with regard to the horizontal recess 42, each of the recessed portions 47 can removably receive one end of a detachable tube, here respectively one end of the horizontal tube 1 and one end of the diagonal tube 1".

[0059] A first hollowed portion 47 is provided to receive the end of the horizontal tube 1 extending along the longitudinal axis A. A second hollowed portion 47 is provided to receive the end of the diagonal tube 1" extending along a longitudinal axis A'. A geometric angle between the longitudinal axis A and the longitudinal axis A' is preferably between 15 degrees and 45 degrees, and is, for example, 30 degrees here.

[0060] Each of the hollowed portions 47 has a substantially cylindrical distal surface extending around the recess provided to receive a tube end. These distal surfaces include respective external fastening means (here, external threads 40). Moving to the left from these distal surfaces, the hollowed portions 47 increase in diameter until they meet at the central branch 46.

[0061] The removable fixing of a fixing ring 2 on the fitting 4' by coaxial clamping, at the level of one of the hollowed portions 47, preferably takes place as described above.

[0062] With reference to the Figure 6 , The 4" base fitting of the adaptable bicycle frame allows for the connection of the 1" seat tube and the 1" down tube. Preferably, the 1" seat tube includes a 2" retaining ring at one lower end, preferably similar to the one described above. The 1" down tube also includes a similar retaining ring on its right end.

[0063] The 4" base fitting here comprises a central cylindrical body 48, as well as two front and rear lugs 49, extending upwards from a top surface of the cylindrical body 48, thus forming a V.

[0064] Each of the mounting lugs 49 is hollowed out in its center. As seen above with regard to the horizontal recess 42, each of the lugs 49 can thus removably receive one end of a detachable tube, here respectively one end of an outer wall 12' of the seat tube 1' or one end of the diagonal tube 1". A geometric angle between the longitudinal axis A' of extension of the diagonal tube and the longitudinal axis A" of the seat tube is preferably between 45 degrees and 90 degrees, and is, for example, 70 degrees here.

[0065] As above, the lugs 49 have cylindrical distal surfaces incorporating external fastening means (here external threads 40). Thus, the removable fastening of a fixing ring 2 onto the fitting 4" by coaxial clamping, at the level of one of the lugs 49, can be carried out in a manner similar to the description above.

[0066] The cylindrical body 48 extends longitudinally along an axis L, from a first annular edge 481 to a second annular edge 482. The axis L of the cylindrical body 48 is orthogonal to the plane of the axes A, A', and A" of the frame tubes. The internal surface 480 of the cylindrical body 48 extends around the axis L.

[0067] With reference to figures 7 to 10, The invention is distinguished in that two modular, removable bases 60, forming a lower part 6 of the bicycle frame, are attached to the 4" base fitting by suitable fastening means on either side. In the embodiments of the invention, the cylindrical body 48 of this 4" base fitting allows the mounting and dismounting of a first base 60-1 on a first lateral side of the frame and a second base 60-2 on an opposite lateral side.

[0068] Each of the modular bases 60-1 and 60-2 comprises a respective hollowed-out ear-shaped front portion 620, which can be attached laterally on one side to one end of the cylindrical body 48 and partially receive the cylindrical body 48. More specifically, this ear-shaped front portion 620 has a bore 621 with a cross-section matched to that of an annular edge 481; 482 defined by this cylindrical body 48 on either side of the base fitting 4". Thus, the first base 60-1 can be fitted onto the first annular edge 481 and the second base 60-2 can be fitted onto the second annular edge 482.

[0069] With reference to the method of implementation of the Figures 7 and 8 attached, when the two bases 60-1 and 60-2 are thus laterally attached to the cylindrical body 48, the base fitting 4" and its two fixing lugs 49 are clamped between the two bases 60-1 and 60-2. There Figure 7illustrates the lower part 6 of the frame, viewed from the side of base 60-1. There Figure 8 illustrates, for its part, the lower part 6 of the frame on the side of base 60-2.

[0070] The two bases 60-1 and 60-2 can be removably fixed to each other, using fixing means defined by at least one fixing screw, here by four fixing screws 62, 64.

[0071] In the present example, the base 60-1 includes on its front part 620 four screw passage openings 62; 64, including a first screw at the front of the cylindrical body 48, a second screw at the rear and in the lower part of the cylindrical body 48, a third screw at the rear and in the upper part of the cylindrical body 48, substantially at the height of the rear ear 49.

[0072] In a first variant, the base 60-2 may include on its ear-shaped front part 620 tapped holes located in correspondence with the openings for the fixing screws 62; 64 in the base 60-1 and into which the screws 62; 64 are screwed. According to another variant, the base 60-2 may include on its ear-shaped front part 620 openings corresponding to those provided in the ear-shaped front part 620 of the base 60-1, openings from which the screws 62; 64 can emerge to cooperate with nuts.

[0073] It is also possible to imagine that at least one of the ear-shaped openings in the front part 620 of these two bases 60-1 and 60-2 is traversed by fixing screws 64 in a way suitable for cooperating with a tapped hole provided at the base fitting 4".

[0074] Thus, the two bases 60-1 and 60-2 can be securely mounted on the 4" base fitting, reversibly, by being fixed to each other at the front.

[0075] The method of implementation visible in the Figures 9 and 10 differs from the previous one, in that the base fitting 4" has on its opposite sides 483, 484 a support plane P1, P2, advantageously perpendicular to the axis L of the cylindrical body 48 and preferably parallel to each other, with which cooperate, respectively, a suitable support plane which comprises the ear-shaped front part 620 of the bases 60-1 and 60-2 on their side opposite the base fitting 4".

[0076] According to a preferred embodiment, these support planes P1, P2 are defined at least by an annular support surface 485 extending to the ends of the cylindrical body 48, preferably around the annular edges 481, 482.

[0077] Advantageously these support planes P1, P2 are further defined around the bracing wings 487, 488, extending to the rear of said cylindrical body 48 and / or the rear ear 49.

[0078] As fastening means, each of the bases 60-1 and 60-2 may include, on its ear-shaped front portion 620, openings for the passage of fastening screws 62, designed to cooperate with tapped holes on its opposite sides 483 and 484 in the base connector 4", at the bearing surfaces P1 and P2. In another embodiment, these openings in the ear-shaped front portion 620 of these bases 60-1 and 60-2 may also be arranged to correspond with through holes in the base connector 4", particularly at the annular bearing surfaces 485 and the bracing flanges 487 and 488, for the passage of through screws 62 on one side to cooperate with nuts on the other. A solution combining the two types of fastening means just described is also conceivable.

[0079] Within the framework of the embodiment visible in THE Figures 9 and 10 ,a support plane P3 defined by the bottom fitting 4" and extending parallel to the axis L of the cylindrical body 48 is still visible. Advantageously this support plane extending radially with respect to this axis L does not form an angle between 20° and 70°, preferably between 40° and 50°, most particularly in the order of 45°.

[0080] Furthermore, according to the invention at least one base, preferably each of the bases 60-1, 60-2 includes a support stop 631 cooperating with the support plane P3.

[0081] This configuration results in a connection between the 60-1, 60-2 bases and the 4" base fitting, resulting in very high rigidity and perfect geometric precision.

[0082] A method for assembling the tube 1 and the fitting 4 using the fixing ring 2, and optionally the clamping wedge 3, is carried out for example according to the following steps.

[0083] The fixing ring 2 is first placed on the tube 1, by inserting the tube 1 into the central through orifice of the fixing ring 2.

[0084] The end of the tube 1 is then inserted into the horizontal recess 42 of the fitting 4, and the fixing ring 2 is slid along the tube in the vicinity of the fitting 4.

[0085] In the case where a clamping wedge 3 is used, it is then interposed between the wall 12 of the tube 1 and the frustoconical internal surface 44 of the fitting 4. The clamping wedge 3 then faces the support stop 280 of the base 28 of the fixing ring 2.

[0086] Alternatively, the clamping wedge 3 could be placed on the tube 1 before inserting the end of the tube 1 into the horizontal recess 42 of the fitting 4.

[0087] Next, the fixing ring 2 is brought closer to the fitting 4 and then the internal threads 20 of the fixing ring 2 are screwed onto the external threads 40 of the fitting 4. The screwing is preferably carried out by rotating the fixing ring 2 in a predetermined direction of rotation, for example a clockwise direction.

[0088] Thus, the fixing ring 2 is fixed on the fitting 4. At the same time, the support stop 280 of the ring 2 pushes the clamping wedge 3 into the inside of the fitting 4. The clamping wedge 3 is then preferably pushed in uniformly inside the fitting 4, by pressing against the frustoconical internal surface 44 of the fitting.

[0089] It should be noted that optionally, the fixing ring 2 could then be unscrewed and removed from the fitting 4 without the tube 1 being removed from the fitting 4, the tube 1 being able to remain in place in the fitting 4 by means of the clamping wedge 3 which remains in position.

[0090] The subsequent disassembly of tube 1 from fitting 4 can be carried out according to the following steps.

[0091] The retaining ring 2 is initially moved away from the fitting 4 by unscrewing the internal threads 20 of the ring relative to the threads 40 of the fitting. Preferably, this unscrewing is carried out by rotating the retaining ring 2 in the opposite direction, for example, counterclockwise.

[0092] Unscrewing the fixing ring 2 allows access to the clamping wedge 3. The wedge 3 preferably has means of dismantling, here annular dismantling grooves 39, allowing the insertion of a dismantling tool such as an extractor.

[0093] Finally, once wedge 3 is loosened, the end of tube 1 can be removed from fitting 4 by extracting tube 1 from horizontal recess 42.

[0094] Thus, the design of the removable tube 1, the fixing ring 2, the clamping wedge 3, and the fitting 4 (or 4' or 4") allows for coaxial clamping of the tube onto the fitting. A significant advantage of this fastening method is its reversibility. The reciprocal assembly and disassembly of a tube and fitting can be repeated as many times as necessary.

[0095] This creates a modular two-wheeled frame. The shape and architecture of the frame can be adapted to different modes of use (standard, "cargo", "fatbike", electric assisted bicycle, etc.) or evolve according to the user's needs.

[0096] Furthermore, once the frame components are available (including tubes, bushings, spacers, and fittings as described above), assembling a complete bicycle frame is very quick and can be done in under twenty minutes, or even under ten or five minutes, without any special technical skills. Moreover, this assembly requires no welding or brazing and is therefore accessible to a wide range of users. Disassembling the frame is also easy.
