System and method for trawling with a ship using one or more steerable underwater drones

Abstract

A method for trawling with a boat (6) is disclosed. 1. The method comprising: - providing at sea (12) a boat (6) having a trawl net (8), a control unit (14) and at least one underwater drone (4) that is steerable by using the control unit (14), - bringing the trawl net (8) under the surface of the sea (12) by using the least one underwater drone (4), - controlling the position and velocity of the at least one underwater drone (4) while the at least one underwater drone (4) is connected to the trawl net (8). The method comprising: - bringing the trawl net (8) to a first position behind the boat (6) by using the least one underwater drone (4), - hereafter bringing the trawl net (8) to a second position in front of or next to the boat (6) by using the least one underwater drone (4), - in the second position pumping, by using a pump (44) a catch caught by using the trawl net (8) on board the boat (6) by using a hose (9).
