Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to the field of cover devices for bedding items such as duvets, pillows, bolsters, etc.
[0002] In this field, the use of these bedding elements involves deposits of dirt, debris, sweat, which means that they need to be washed for reuse. This involves considerable energy and long drying times given the constituents of these bedding elements.
[0003] To limit the washing of these bedding items, it has been suggested to use several different covers, so as to have at least one cover ready for use when the used cover is removed for washing.
[0004] Unfortunately, the covers of the prior art are not entirely satisfactory. Indeed, the installation and removal of certain loose and insufficiently rigid bedding items, such as duvets, is long, complex and tedious. In general, one end of the cover is open and has a fold-over, and the duvet must be inserted all the way to the other end.
[0005] In addition, these bedding elements that are not sufficiently rigid can move inside the cover, which means that it is more or less necessary to restart the installation of the bedding element regularly.
[0006] Additionally, current duvet cover changes are laborious and physical for everyone. They are even more so for people with mobility problems such as the elderly and people with temporary or chronic disabilities. US 8,458,832 B1 describes a bedding cover device according to the preamble of claim 1.
[0007] Thus, a first objective of the invention is to propose a quick, simple and easy solution for installing and removing loose bedding elements which may not be sufficiently rigid.
[0008] A second objective is to propose a means of limiting the movement of these bedding elements inside their covers.
[0009] A third objective is to offer a product that provides easy-to-use duvet cover changing solutions to the general public and people with mobility issues.
[0010] To achieve these objectives, the invention provides a bedding cover device as defined in claim 1.
[0011] The upper strip and the lower strip extend over at least three adjacent sides of said flanks. Thus, in other words, the upper flank and the lower flank may be physically independent of each other, i.e. they may be made individual when the bedding cover device is not closed, or they may be connected to each other by a strip of material extending along a single edge. Thus, to put the bedding element in place, the latter is for example laid flat on the lower flank, and the upper flank is brought over either by laying it down or by folding it down by folding the strip of material.
[0012] Advantageously, the device according to the invention allows the loose bedding element to be put in place simply and quickly by opening the closure, placing the bedding element and closing the closure. This allows duvet covers to be put on or taken off quickly, simply and easily.
[0013] At least one of said flanks comprises at least one fixing clip capable of fixing at least one point of the bedding cover device to at least one point of the bedding element. Said fixing clip is removable, that is to say that it can be removed and replaced on the flank without damaging the flank. For this purpose, said fixing clip comprises a rear ring or hook associated with a loop which is fixed on said flank.
[0014] The sidewall in question comprises a strip of material, passed through the loop and folded and sewn onto the cover device. Said strip of material can be in one piece with the rest of the sidewall, or added and sewn onto the sidewall.
[0015] Thus, the clip is removable by disassembling the ring or hook from the loop. The duvet cover device can then be used as a conventional duvet cover, for example when the bedding item is not suitable for using the clip, or more generally when the user does not wish to use the clip. The clip can then be stored separately, and does not cause any discomfort for the user. The clip can then very easily be put back in place if necessary.
[0016] The ring is removably connected to the buckle. This allows the user to remove the clip and ring assembly so that there is no further discomfort if they do not wish to use the assembly, and to replace it at will.
[0017] Using the clamp to attach the bedding item to the cover device is easy to handle.
[0018] In practice, the bedding cover device may comprise a plurality of removable fixing clips, distributed, for example regularly, along the edges of the lower and / or upper side, each clip being intended to fix a point of the bedding element.
[0019] According to a first embodiment, at least one of said flanks comprises male and / or female closure structures configured to cooperate with corresponding female and / or male closure structures of the bedding element so as to fix certain points of the bedding cover device to certain points of the bedding element.
[0020] Advantageously, the fixing points of the button structures allow for a fixed positioning of the loose and non-rigid bedding element in the cover so that it does not move, and this without there being any discomfort for the user when sleeping. The user therefore does not need to regularly start placing the duvet in the cover.
[0021] According to other aspects taken alone or combined in all technically feasible combinations and as long as this is included within the scope of the claims: said male and / or female closure structures are button closure structures; and / or the upper strip and the lower strip extend on one to four sides of the contours of said flanks, said flanks being secured together by at least one point, preferably a line; and / or the upper strip and the lower strip extend on three adjacent sides of said flanks; and / or the male and / or female structures are arranged at opposite edges of said flank and at corresponding edges of the bedding element; and / or the lower flank comprises female closure structures, and male closure structures are configured to be fixed to the bedding element to be associated with said female closure structures; and / or the female closure structures comprise a ring which may be elastic;and / or the female closure structures comprise a cord for wrapping the male structure more than once, or a cord associated with a tightening fastener; and / or the male closure structures comprise a round button. ;
[0022] The invention further relates to a method of placing and / or removing a bedding cover device according to claim 8.
[0023] According to another embodiment, at least one of said flanks comprises fixing clips configured to fix certain points of the bedding cover device to certain points of the bedding element.
[0024] Advantageously, this embodiment makes it possible to provide a ready-to-use cover device. In addition, it makes it possible to implement the fixing of the bedding element while limiting user intervention, for example to sew buttons onto the bedding element.
[0025] According to other additional aspects taken alone or combined in all technically feasible combinations and as long as this is included within the scope of the claims: the fixing clips are sewn on both sides; and / or the fixing clips are arranged symmetrically at two opposite sides of the cover device, in particular at one end of said sides; and / or the cover device comprises two fixing clips close to a top edge of the cover device; and / or the fixing clips comprise gripping reliefs for holding the bedding element .
[0026] The invention will be further detailed by the description of non-limiting embodiments, and on the basis of the appended figures, among which: [ Fig.1 ] there figure 1 is a spatial view of a bedding cover device according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, open, as well as a corresponding loose bedding element; [ Fig.2 ] there figure 2 is a plan view of a zipper device and a female closure structure of the bedding cover device of the figure 1 ; [ Fig.3 ] there figure 3 is a diagram of a side view of the zipper device and the female structure of the figure 2 ; [ Fig.4 ] there figure 4 illustrates an alternative assembly of lower and upper sides of a bedding cover device according to a first embodiment of the invention; [ Fig.5 ] there figure 5 illustrates an alternative assembly of lower and upper sides of a bedding cover device according to a second embodiment of the invention; [ Fig.6 ] there figure 6 is a diagram of a male structure association with a female cord structure associated with a clamping attachment; [ Fig.7 ] there figure 7 is a spatial view of a bedding cover device according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, comprising fixing clips, as well as a corresponding bedding element; and [ Fig.8 ] there figure 8 is a spatial view of a fixing clamp for the bedding cover device of the figure 7 .
[0027] The invention relates to a cover device H for a bedding element E such as a duvet, a pillow, a bolster, etc. The invention is particularly suitable for bedding elements E having a size substantially smaller than the cover H and / or for loose and substantially non-rigid bedding elements E.
[0028] In the context of the invention, the term "non-rigid bedding elements" means a bedding element that is not capable of remaining in an essentially vertical position, but rather capable of folding down to extend horizontally or fold back on itself. The classic example is that of a duvet.
[0029] The bedding cover device H is separated into two upper sides s and lower sides i.
[0030] The upper flank s is configured to cover an upper face of a flat bedding element E. The lower flank i is configured to cover a lower face of said bedding element E.
[0031] The bedding cover device H further comprises an edge closure device. This is in particular a zipper device Z. This type of device, also called a zipper, generally comprises two separate strips connected together by a closing element to be pulled and slid to open or close the space between the two strips. There are preferably two closing elements per cover device: the first starts, for example, from the top right, goes down the entire right side, then halfway down the foot side. The same applies to the second on the other side. The strips are then joined and secured by the closure.
[0032] Thus, the zipper device Z comprises an upper strip bs extending over a contour element of the upper flank s and a lower strip bi extending over a contour element of the lower flank i.
[0033] Other types of edge closure devices may be considered, such as hook and loop type self-gripping strips (Velcro™), buttons such as push buttons, etc. extending along said edge.
[0034] According to one aspect of the invention, the zipper device Z is configured to close the bedding cover device H, on the bedding element E so as to completely envelop the bedding element.
[0035] Advantageously, the cover device H allows the loose bedding element E to be put in place simply and quickly by opening the closure Z, arranging the bedding element E and closing the closure Z. This allows duvet covers to be put on or taken off quickly, simply and easily.
[0036] The upper band bs and the lower band bi extend on three adjacent sides of said flanks i, s.
[0037] This makes it easy to extend the bedding element E and quickly close the zipper device Z around it.
[0038] Providing three sides keeps the sides aligned along a connecting line (ls) on the fourth side, and limits creasing of one or the other side. Folding the sides onto each other by matching the edges is easier in this case.
[0039] In the preferred variant, said flanks i, s are secured together by at least one point, preferably a line ls on one side. The securing makes it possible to prevent one flank s from sliding away from the other when the cover device H is put in place.
[0040] According to another aspect of the invention, at least one of said flanks i comprises male and / or female closure structures f configured to cooperate with corresponding female and / or male closure structures m of the bedding element E so as to fix certain points of the bedding cover device H to certain points of the bedding element E.
[0041] Advantageously, the fixing points of the closing structures f, m allow for a fixed positioning of the loose and non-rigid bedding element E in the cover H so that it does not move there, and this without there being any discomfort for the user when he sleeps. The user therefore does not need to regularly start putting the duvet E in the cover H.
[0042] It is possible to envisage several male and female structures on said flank and the bedding element E, or only male or female structures on said flank and the bedding element E.
[0043] In the preferred variant, the lower flank i comprises female structures f and the bedding element E comprises the male structures m, or preferably, the male structures m are configured to be attached to the bedding element E in a kit detailed below.
[0044] Placing the closing structures on the lower flank i rather than the upper flank s allows the bedding element E to be fixed when it rests on the lower flank i with many degrees of freedom, and then folding down the upper flank s and closing the zipper device Z.
[0045] In particular, the male and / or female structures m, f are arranged at opposite edges of the cover device and corresponding edges of the bedding element E. More particularly, the cover device H, and more particularly said flank, comprises structures (here female f) at end edges of opposite sides and / or at opposite corners; and the bedding element E comprises structures (here male m) at corresponding end edges and / or at corresponding corners.
[0046] The fixing points can be two in number on a top edge, and two on a bottom edge of the cover device H. It is also possible to envisage more than two top and bottom fixing points, for example three tops and three bottoms as illustrated in figure 1 . It is also possible to provide fixing points at the top only, 2 or more.
[0047] More specifically, the lower flank i comprises the female closure structures f, and male closure structures m are configured to be fixed to the bedding element E to be associated with said female closure structures f. In particular, as can be seen in figure 1 , there are three female structures f at each width of the lower flank i, three corresponding male structures m at each width of the bedding element E.
[0048] According to a preferred variant, the female closure structures f comprise a preferably elastic ring. The ring preferably has a length d1 and a thickness adapted to the male structure m used. Advantageously, a ring structure makes it possible to quickly put the solution of the invention in place on a prefabricated cover quickly and easily, for example with a stitch. This variant limits the production times of the invention. Furthermore, the elasticity allows better maintenance of the fastener in use.
[0049] Furthermore, preferably, the male closure structures m comprise a button. Advantageously, this provides a good fit in the female structure f and limits the detachment of these structures. A log button may be considered. Preferably, a flat log button is used to limit inconvenience and improve comfort in use, so that the user does not rely on the volume of the button. More preferably, a flat round button is used to further improve comfort, limit inconvenience of pressing and the size of the button.
[0050] Preferably, the closing device Z is hidden and not visible in use for greater aesthetics and comfort (the closures being cold). For this purpose, in a first embodiment, the edges of the sides i, s can be flush to have an “invisible closing” type configuration. This embodiment can be illustrated by the figure 4 .
[0051] Alternatively, in a second embodiment, the edges of the sides may be overlapping, with the upper edge folding over the lower edge, or vice versa. This embodiment may be illustrated by the figure 5 .
[0052] In another embodiment, the female closure structures f comprise a cord associated with a tightening fastener A. The cord is configured to surround the male structure m, to be tightened by the tightening fastener A. In particular, the tightening fastener A receives the cord and comprises a tightening mechanism based for example on a button B and a return means (not shown). The button B can be pressed to loosen the fastener A and slide it to the male structure m, or vice versa. The tightening fastener A makes it possible to have a better hold of the female structure f on the male structure m. This embodiment can be illustrated by the figure 6 .
[0053] Alternatively or in combination, the (or some of the) female closure structures f comprise a cord for wrapping the male structure m more than one turn. In this case, the closure structures are held in place by making more than one turn of the cord at the base of the male structure, for example by making 1.5 turns, or more.
[0054] The invention further relates to a bedding element E for a bedding cover device H as previously described.
[0055] In particular, the bedding element E comprises male m and / or female closure structures corresponding to those of the cover device H. These closure structures (here male m) are configured to fix certain points of the bedding element E to certain points of the bedding cover device H.
[0056] The invention is preferably implemented in the form of a kit comprising a cover device H as described above, associated with closure structures to be fixed on a bedding element E to match them with the closure structures of the cover device H. This is for example a duvet cover with thread, buttons to be fixed on a pre-existing duvet, and optionally one or more needles. Fixing material, for example known, and / or instructions for use may be provided in the kit.
[0057] The invention further relates to a method of placing and / or removing a bedding cover device according to claim 8.
[0058] According to the invention, at least one of said sides comprises fixing clips P configured to fix certain points of the bedding cover device H to certain points of the bedding element E.
[0059] Advantageously, this embodiment makes it possible to provide a ready-to-use cover device. In addition, it makes it possible to implement the fixing of the bedding element E while limiting the user's intervention, for example to sew buttons B onto the bedding element E.
[0060] According to a variant, the fixing clips P are sewn on the two sides i, s, in particular close to an upper end of the cover device H (towards the head in use). More particularly, the fixing clips P are arranged symmetrically on two opposite sides of the cover device H, in particular at one end of said sides.
[0061] Preferably, the fixing clips P comprise gripping reliefs for holding the bedding element E, in particular in the form of teeth D, preferably prismatic, more preferably with a triangular lateral base as illustrated, or in a pyramidal, conical or truncated cone shape.
[0062] The variants can be combined so as to provide both clips P and male and female structures described above, and thus improve the fixing of the bedding element E by several means.
[0063] THE figures 7 et 8 relate to a variant with only P clamps.
[0064] The clips P are fixed, for example sewn, in the cover device H for this purpose a rear ring or hook C is provided on the clips P. It is associated with a loop B2 on which is folded a strip B3 which is sewn on the cover device H, in particular on the upper and lower sides. The figure 7 shows an unstitched portion of the upper flank s at the right end of the flank s. In use, this portion to the right of the darts P is sewn up to the darts P in the illustrated variant.
[0065] As illustrated in figure 8 , the clamp P is removable by disassembling the hook C from the loop B2.
[0066] Preferably, the closure Z extends on a low side and on a part of the lateral sides of the cover device H up to a point of attachment of the clips P laterally on both lateral sides. In particular, the clips P have a 10 cm seam on the strip B3, following which we find the zipper Z which will finish closing the two large sides and the "low" side.
[0067] So, the duvet is simply held in place using these two P clips (one on each side) in the illustrated variant.
[0068] Of course, it is possible to envisage using other clamps P on opposite sections of the cover device H, for example in an arrangement similar to the male or female structures of the cover device H of the figure 1 .
[0069] It is possible to use three Z closures instead of two, for example one Z closure on each of said three sides, i.e. one on each lateral side of the cover device H and the third on the "low" side.
[0070] A zipper Z can also be provided all around the cover device H, or only on part of its outline.
