Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention concerns a water delivery device, such as a tap or suchlike usable in professional or domestic work environments, in particular kitchens.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] It is known that there are water delivery devices that are provided with a support body with which there are associated a command member, which can be for example of the type with screw-down valves, or a mixer, for selecting hot or cold water, and a rotatable delivery spout able to be oriented according to the specific operating requirements.

[0003] For example, in a professional kitchen, it is possible to provide several sinks in which it is necessary to pour hot or cold water when needed, therefore the rotation of the spout makes choosing the sink possible. Even in a domestic environment, a rotatable spout can still be provided to pass from the sink to the sink support surface where, for example, another container can be present, or vice versa.

[0004] Kitchen worktops also provide areas where water should not be delivered, such as those dedicated to food cooking systems such as stoves, induction plates, or suchlike. It is therefore necessary to prevent the operator from absentmindedly rotating the tap spout toward such areas and accidentally delivering water thereon.

[0005] Currently, a tap's spout is freely rotated with respect to the support body by 360°, or systems are provided that limit its rotation to 180°. These systems, however, do not allow to safely limit and possibly even block the rotation of the spout. Furthermore, the selection of a certain position of the spout does not occur in a precise and stable manner.

[0006] US 2018 / 0320344 A1 describes a device for coupling / uncoupling a tap to a surface or top. The device has a coupling position and an uncoupling position which allows to remove the tap and allow for maintenance and cleaning operations thereof.

[0007] DE 102 43 305 A1 describes a sanitary tap having a rotatable outlet body whose rotation can be limited in a fixed manner by means of an insert fastened to the outlet body or to the base on which the outlet body is mounted.

[0008] JP 2006 233470 A and JP 5 576823 disclose solutions of taps with built-in spout integral to the fastening element for attachment to the surface or top.

[0009] There is therefore the need to perfect a water delivery device that can overcome at least one of the disadvantages of the state of the art.

[0010] In particular, one purpose of the present invention is to provide a water delivery device in which the rotation of the spout can be blocked, or limited, according to specific positions. In this way, it is possible to prevent an incorrect positioning of the spout and prevent any accidental delivery of water toward areas in which it must not be spilled, in areas that would be dangerous if hit by water, for example cooking areas provided with induction plates, fryers, stoves or other heat sources.

[0011] Another purpose of the present invention is a water delivery device that can be used safely and effectively in professional or domestic environments.

[0012] Another purpose of the present invention is to provide a kit for blocking, or limiting, the rotation of the spout of a water delivery device.

[0013] The Applicant has devised, tested and embodied the present invention to overcome the shortcomings of the state of the art and to obtain these and other purposes and advantages.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0014] The present invention is set forth and characterized in the independent claims. The dependent claims describe other characteristics of the present invention or variants to the main inventive idea.

[0015] In accordance with the above purposes, a water delivery device according to the present invention comprises a support body in which there is inserted a terminal part of a water delivery spout which is rotatable in such a way that it can be positioned in a desired delivery point.

[0016] According to one aspect of the invention, the terminal part comprises a seating in which there is housed an insert for blocking, or limiting, the rotation of the spout. The insert is connected to the support body by means of at least one removable fastening element.

[0017] Thanks to this insert, it is possible to provide a water delivery device in which the rotation of the spout can be blocked, or limited, according to specific positions. In this way, it is possible to prevent an incorrect positioning of the spout and prevent the accidental delivery of water, for example, toward areas where it should not be spilled, such as cooking areas with induction plates, stoves or other.

[0018] The present water delivery device can be advantageously used in a safe and effective manner in professional or domestic environments.

[0019] According to one aspect of the invention, the insert is mating in shape with the seating, so as to guarantee a high coupling stability.

[0020] According to another aspect of the invention, the insert and the seating have a substantially semi-annular shape, therefore with an amplitude of approximately 180°.

[0021] According to another aspect of the invention, the fastening element is configured to connect the insert to a seating created inside the support body and it comprises an at least partly threaded stem able to engage in a threaded hole of the seating.

[0022] According to another aspect of the invention, the insert comprises a recess for the retractable housing of a head of the fastening element.

[0023] According to another aspect of the invention, the insert is provided with one or more weakening lines created on one or both of its base and top surfaces. In this way, it is possible to snap or cut the insert so as to give it a certain amplitude that allows for a certain rotation of the spout.

[0024] According to another aspect of the invention, the insert comprises at least two first weakening lines created on the top surface and at least two second weakening lines created on the base surface and opposing the first weakening lines.

[0025] According to another aspect of the invention, the weakening lines are directed in at least two directions radial with respect to a point around which the insert develops.

[0026] According to another aspect of the invention, the at least two directions are substantially specular with respect to a plane of symmetry of the insert.

[0027] The present invention also concerns a kit for blocking or limiting the rotation of a spout of a water delivery device, comprising at least one insert configured to be housed in a seating created on a terminal part of the spout and a fastening element configured to connect the insert to a support body of the device.DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0028] These and other aspects, characteristics and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following description of some embodiments, given as a non-restrictive example with reference to the attached drawings wherein: fig. 1 is a three-dimensional and partly exploded view of a water delivery device according to the present invention; fig. 2 is a three-dimensional view, partly exploded and on a larger scale of a part of the device of fig. 1; fig. 3 is a top view of an insert for blocking or limiting the rotation of a water delivery spout of the device; figs. 4, 5 and 6 show some examples of the positioning of said insert in detail.

[0029] We must clarify that the phraseology and terminology used in the present description, as well as the figures in the attached drawings also in relation as to how described, have the sole function of better illustrating and explaining the present invention, their purpose being to provide a non-limiting example of the invention itself, since the scope of protection is defined by the claims.

[0030] To facilitate comprehension, the same reference numbers have been used, where possible, to identify identical common elements in the drawings. It is understood that elements and characteristics of one embodiment can be conveniently combined or incorporated into other embodiments without further clarifications.DESCRIPTION OF SOME EMBODIMENTS

[0031] We will now refer in detail to the possible embodiments of the invention, of which one or more examples are shown in the attached drawings, by way of a non-limiting illustration. The phraseology and terminology used here is also for the purposes of providing non-limiting examples.

[0032] With reference to the attached drawings, see in particular fig. 1 and fig. 2, a water delivery device 10, such as a tap or suchlike, comprises a support body 11 in which a terminal part 12 of a delivery spout 13 is inserted. The spout 13 is rotatable in such a way that it can be positioned in a desired water delivery point.

[0033] The terminal part 12 comprises a seating 14 in its lower edge in which there is housed an insert 15 for blocking, or limiting, the rotation of the spout 13. The insert 15 is connected to the support body 11 by means of at least one fastening element 16, in particular a removable fastening element 16.

[0034] In the support body 11 there is also provided a command member 17 by means of which it is possible to select the amount of hot or cold water to deliver from the tap 13. For example, the command member 17 can be of the type with screw-down valves, or it can be a mixer. The spout 13 is fastened to the support body 11 by means of a ring nut 29 which engages in a corresponding threaded element 30.

[0035] The seating 14 is in particular semi-annular in shape and substantially has an amplitude of approximately 180°. The insert 15 is inserted in the seating 14 to measure.

[0036] The insert 15 is in particular a single piece element with a semi-annular shape mating with the shape of the seating 14. The insert 15 therefore has an amplitude of approximately 180°.

[0037] The insert 15 is made of polymeric material suitable for contact with drinking water, for example polyamide, or acetal resins or suchlike.

[0038] The fastening element 16 can be for example a screw, a bolt or suchlike, comprising a head 18 and an at least partly threaded stem 19.

[0039] The fastening element 16 is configured to connect the insert 15 to a seating 20 created inside the support body 11 and in particular to the water passage pipe 21. The seating 20 comprises a threaded hole 22 able to engage with the thread of the stem 19.

[0040] The insert 15 is provided with a recess 23 configured to retractably house the head 18 of the fastening element 16, so that it does not protrude from the insertion part, that is, toward the seating 14. The recess 23 can therefore have a cylindrical shape, a cylindrical sector, or suchlike. In correspondence with the recess 23, the insert 15 is provided with a through hole 28 for the stem 19 of the fastening element 16 to pass through. See also fig. 3.

[0041] The insert 15 is also provided with one or more weakening lines 24a, 25a, 24b, 25b created on one or both of its base and top surfaces 26 and 27. In particular, there are provided at least two first weakening lines 24a and 25a on the top surface 27 and two second weakening lines 24b and 25b created on the base surface 26 and respectively opposing the first weakening lines 24a and 25a.

[0042] The weakening lines 24a, 24b, 25a, 25b, see also fig. 3, are directed in directions R1 and R2 radial with respect to a point O, in particular a central point, around which the insert 15 develops. In particular, the weakening lines 24a, 24b are directed in a first direction R1 and the weakening lines 25a, 25b are directed in a second direction R2. The point O identifies, or coincides with, the axis of rotation of the spout 13.

[0043] The directions R1 and R2 are specular with respect to a plane of symmetry P of the insert 15.

[0044] The weakening lines 24a, 24b, 25a, 25b and therefore the directions R1 and R2 are inclined by an angle α of about 45° with respect to the plane of symmetry P.

[0045] By means of the weakening lines 24a, 24b, 25a, 25b it is possible to vary, in particular permanently and according to different requirements, the shape of the insert 15, by snapping it, or cutting it, along them.

[0046] For example, by snapping the insert 15 along the weakening lines 24a, 24b or 25a, 25b it is possible to reduce its amplitude to approximately 135° and give it an asymmetrical shape.

[0047] By snapping the insert 15 along the weakening lines 24a, 24b and 25a, 25b it is possible to reduce its amplitude to about 90°, keeping its symmetrical shape.

[0048] Fig. 4 shows an example of application of the insert 15 entirely inserted to measure inside the seating 14. The insert 15 is fastened to the seating 20 by means of the fastening element 16, then the spout 13 is inserted inside the pipe 21 so that the seating 14 matches the insert 15. In this situation, the rotation of the spout 13 is blocked.

[0049] Another example of application of the insert 15 is shown in fig. 5. In this case, the insert 15 is snapped along the weakening lines 25a, 25b of fig. 2 and fig. 3, thus creating a clearance S 1 of about 45° along which the spout 13 can rotate on one side of the insert 15.

[0050] Another example of application of the insert 15 is shown in fig. 6. In this case, the insert 15 is snapped along the weakening lines 24a, 24b and 25a, 25b, thus creating two clearances S 1 and S2 of about 45° on opposite sides thereof. The spout 13 can then rotate by about 45° on either side of the insert 15.

[0051] If the directions R1 and R2 in which the lines 24a, 24b and 25a, 25b are directed were not specular, different sizes of the clearances S 1 and S2 could be provided, and therefore a different degree of rotation of the spout 13 on one side rather than the other.

[0052] The present kit for blocking, or limiting, the rotation therefore comprises the insert 15 and the fastening element 16, and it can be used according to different modes, that is, to block or limit the rotation of the spout 13, as described by way of example above, depending on the requirements of the water delivery device 10 to which it is applied.

[0053] It is clear that modifications and / or additions of parts may be made to the water delivery device as described heretofore, without thereby departing from the field and scope of the present invention, as defined by the claims.

[0054] It is also clear that, although the present invention has been described with reference to some specific examples, a person of skill in the art will be able to achieve other equivalent forms of water delivery device, having the characteristics as set forth in the claims and hence all coming within the field of protection defined thereby.

[0055] In the following claims, the sole purpose of the references in brackets is to facilitate their reading and they must not be considered as restrictive factors with regard to the field of protection defined by the claims.
