Description

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to the field of bicycle packaging and, in particular, concerns a package and a kit for packaging a bicycle to be shipped or transported.

[0002] Furthermore, the present invention also concerns methods for packaging a bicycle to be shipped or transported with the aforementioned package and with the aforementioned kit respectively.STATE OF THE PRIOR ART

[0003] The steady growth of online bicycle shopping has revolutionized the cycling industry. In recent years, the digital world has seen a significant increase in the demand for bicycles purchased through e-commerce platforms, positively disrupting the dynamics of the industry. This trend has been driven by the convenience, wide selection of products and ease of price comparison that online shopping offers to consumers.

[0004] Therefore, the cycling industry has quickly adapted to this new reality, offering user-friendly websites and e-commerce platforms, as well as greater availability of quality products. With efficient shipping and easy return policies, consumers have developed confidence in online shopping of bicycles, further increasing the flow of sales.

[0005] Along with the growth of online shopping for new bicycles, the used market has also seen a significant development. Sales platforms specializing in new and used bicycles have been created, offering a wide range of models and affordable prices.

[0006] In this context, the exponential increase in online purchases of bicycles has also had a significant impact on the packaging sector of the same. In fact, with the increase in demand for bicycle shipments, companies in the sector as well as sellers present on the various web sales platforms have had to adopt new, more efficient and faster solutions to meet customer needs and ensure safety during shipping or transport.

[0007] The logistical challenges posed by bicycles, with their bulky and complex shape, have required the development of new specific packaging systems, always taking into account sustainability and, therefore, the use of recyclable materials.

[0008] In this regard, the bicycle packaging systems known in the art suffer profoundly from problems of bulk, assembly and versatility of use.

[0009] It should be considered, for example, a seller who has just sold a bicycle on an online platform and must package and ship it: the procurement of the components necessary for packaging is often complicated and difficult to assemble, which significantly lengthens the time required to send the bicycle to the customer.

[0010] Moreover, another of the main problems of the bicycle packaging systems known in the art lies in their poor reusability.

[0011] It is therefore necessary and advantageous to design and create a package, a kit and respective methods for packaging a bicycle to be shipped or transported that allow the disadvantages of the known art listed above to be overcome.OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION

[0012] The technical aim of the present invention is therefore to improve the state of the art in the bicycle packaging sector.

[0013] A first object of the present invention is to provide a package, a kit and respective methods that allow to simplify and speed up the packaging of a bicycle.

[0014] Another object of the present invention is to develop a package, a kit and respective methods that allow to reduce the overall dimensions for the packaging of a bicycle and, consequently, also the related shipping or transport costs.

[0015] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a package, a kit and respective methods that allow a high modularity and versatility to adapt to the packaging of different types of bicycles.

[0016] A further object of the present invention is to provide a package, a kit and respective methods that allow intuitive packaging and that can be used directly even by an inexperienced seller.

[0017] Finally, another object of the present invention is to provide a package, a kit and respective methods that are completely reusable.

[0018] This aim and these objects are achieved by a package for packaging a bicycle to be shipped or transported according to claim 1 and by a packaging kit according to claim 14.

[0019] This aim and these objects are also achieved by the methods for packaging a bicycle to be shipped or transported according to claims 13 and 15.

[0020] The dependent claims refer to preferred and advantageous embodiments of the invention.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0022] In the attached drawings, identical parts or components are identified by the same reference numbers.EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION

[0023] With reference to the attached figures, the reference number 1 indicates as a whole a package for packaging a bicycle B to be shipped or transported according to a non-limiting embodiment of the present invention.

[0024] The package 1 according to the present invention can be used to pack a bicycle B to be shipped or transported of any type, for example a road bicycle, racing bicycle, mountain bicycle, city bicycle, touring bicycle, electric bicycle or similar.

[0025] The package 1 according to the present invention comprises, housed inside it, a packaging kit 2 which includes a plurality of packaging components 3.

[0026] According to the non-limiting embodiment of the present invention illustrated in figure 1, the package 1 has a box-shaped configuration, for example a rectangular parallelepiped configuration.

[0027] Package 1 can be purchased and used by a user who wishes to transport or ship a bicycle or, in the case of online sales, for example on a dedicated sales platform, it could be sent by the operators of the sales platform directly to the seller of the bicycle so that the latter can use it to proceed with the packaging of the bicycle in view of the subsequent shipment to the buyer.

[0028] From a structural point of view, the external casing 1a of the package 1, preferably made of several parts constrained together as will be seen better below, can have, for example, a length between 900 mm and 1040 mm, for example about 970 mm, a width between 500 mm and 700 mm, for example about 600 mm and a height or thickness between 100 mm and 220 mm, for example about 160 mm.

[0029] The plurality of packaging components 3 of the packaging kit 2 housed inside the package 1 each define a respective closed or rest configuration RC when they are housed in the package 1 and a packaging configuration PC when they are used to package a bicycle B.

[0030] Preferably, all or some of the components of the package 1, including the outer casing 1a thereof, are made of cardboard or pressed paper.

[0031] The closed or rest configuration RC of each packaging component 3 is such as to allow it to be housed inside the package 1 or, more specifically, inside its outer casing 1a.

[0032] The plurality of packaging components 3 comprise at least a first support component 4 and at least a second support component 5 delimiting respective pluralities of fold lines 4a, 5a that allow the folding of the same for the passage from the closed or rest configuration RC to the packaging configuration PC and vice versa.

[0033] In the packaging configuration PC, the first support component 4 delimits a positioning seat PS for a bicycle B and the second support component 5 can be coupled with the first support component 4 so as to define a box-shaped packaging body 15.

[0034] The coupling of the second support component 5 with the first support component 4 is visible, for example, in figures 37 and 38 while the box-shaped packaging body 15 is visible, for example, in figures 39, 40 and 41.

[0035] Furthermore, the volumetric size of the package 1 is less, preferably by at least a quarter, than the volumetric size of the box-shaped packaging body 15 and / or the first support component 4, in the packaging configuration PC, is tub-shaped or tray-shaped so as to allow the housing of a bicycle B in a closed perimeter before the final coupling of the second support component 5 for the definition of the box-shaped packaging body 15

[0036] In this regard, the tub or tray configuration of the first support component 4 defines, in its packaging configuration PC, two or more wall sections coupled to each other which, as will be seen below, will constitute a closed perimeter wall 4c and will delimit the positioning seat PS with a base 4b of the first support component 4.

[0037] Advantageously, the volumetric size of the package 1 is less than half, for example less than a third, or even less than a quarter, of the volumetric size of the box-shaped packaging body 15.

[0038] From a structural point of view, the box-shaped packaging body 15 may have, for example, a length between 1000 mm and 2600 mm, for example about 1730 mm, a width between 300 mm and 1500 mm, for example about 890 mm and a height or thickness between 100 mm and 600 mm, for example about 290 mm.

[0039] Therefore, in the packaging configuration PC, the first support component 4 and the second support component 5 that make up the box-shaped packaging body 15 may also have, for example, a length between 1000 mm and 2600 mm, for example about 1730 mm and a width between 300 mm and 1500 mm, for example about 890 mm.

[0040] Preferably, the positioning seat PS is, in use, open towards the top and defines a main positioning plane for a bicycle B, when the latter is positioned therein for packaging, which is parallel to the main lying plane defined by the first support component 4.

[0041] In other words, the main lying plane defined by the first support component 4 is in this case parallel to the main lying plane defined by a bicycle B when positioned in the positioning seat PS for packaging.

[0042] In essence, the bicycle B is positioned in the positioning seat PS lying down or stretched out with respect to the ground.

[0043] As can be understood, this allows a significant reduction in the height or thickness of the box-shaped packaging body 15 and, consequently, a smaller size of the same during shipping or transport.

[0044] It should be considered that, taking as a reference a bicycle B lying on the ground, the main lying plane of the latter is to be considered as the plane parallel to the ground along which the main frame of the same extends. Therefore, considering a bicycle B positioned in the positioning seat PS, its main lying plane will be parallel to the main lying plane of the first support component 4.

[0045] Preferably, the first support component 4, in the packaging configuration PC, is positioned with the main lying plane parallel to the ground or, in any case, parallel to a work plane which is in turn parallel to the ground, so as to facilitate the positioning of a bicycle B in the positioning seat PS. Structurally, according to the non-limiting embodiment of the present invention illustrated in the figures, in the packaging configuration PC, the first support component 4 has a rectangular plan configuration.

[0046] It should be considered that the surface size or size in a horizontal or plan projection plane of the first support component 4 in its closed or rest configuration RC is such as to allow it to be housed inside the package 1.

[0047] In particular, in the closed or rest configuration RC, the first support component 4 has a surface size or in a horizontal or plan projection plane that is smaller, preferably by at least a quarter, for example smaller by at least half, possibly by two thirds or even three quarters, than its surface size or size in a horizontal or plan projection plane in the packaging configuration PC.

[0048] Preferably, to allow for the reduction of surface size or size in a horizontal or plan projection plane of the first support component 4 in the passage from the packaging configuration PC to the closed or rest configuration RC, the same can present at least one fold line 4a, optionally two or more fold lines 4a, obtained transversely or orthogonally with respect to the main or longitudinal development direction of the first support component 4 which allow for the folding and superposition of multiple portions of the same one on top of the other.

[0049] Advantageously, in the packaging configuration PC, the first support component 4 comprises a base 4b, for example a sheet-like base, and a perimeter wall 4c, which rises from the base 4a or, better, from its upper, in use, surface and extends transversely, preferably orthogonally, to the latter. In particular, the base 4a and the perimeter wall 4c define the positioning seat PS.

[0050] Optionally, the height or transverse development, with respect to the base 4b, of the perimeter wall 4c is between one eighth and one sixteenth of the longitudinal development or length of the base 4b, for example about one twelfth of the same.

[0051] From a functional point of view, for the passage of the first support component 4 from the closed or rest configuration RC to the packaging configuration PC, an operator can take the first support component 4 from the package 1 and bring it into an open configuration OC of the same in which the fold lines 4a are not folded, for example by laying it on the ground (see, for example, figure 3) or on a work surface parallel to the ground, and then proceed to obtain the perimeter wall 4c (see, for example, figures 4 and 5).

[0052] From a dimensional point of view, in the open configuration OC the first support component 4 can have a length between 1500 mm and 3200 mm, for example about 2350 mm, and a width between about 500 mm and about 1800 mm, for example about 1180 mm.

[0053] According to the non-limiting embodiment of the first support component illustrated in figure 42, in the open configuration OC the latter comprises a first 4c 1, a second 4c2, a third 4c3 and a fourth wall section 4c4 which will make up the perimeter wall 4c in the packaging configuration PC.

[0054] More specifically, the first section 4c1 is defined at the front F of the first support component 4, the second section 4c2 is defined at the rear R of the first support component 4 while the third section 4c3 and the fourth section 4c4 are defined at a respective flank F1, F2 of the first support component 4.

[0055] Advantageously, the first section 4c 1 and the second section 4c2 are separated from the third section 4c3 and the fourth section 4c4 by respective longitudinal notches 4c5 provided at the front F and at the rear R which develop along the main or longitudinal development direction of the first support component 4, for example for a length between about 50 mm and about 250 mm, for example about 150 mm.

[0056] Optionally, the first 4c1 and the second section 4c2 in turn define respective first 4cla, 4c2a and second portions 4clb, 4c2b which can be folded one over the other and provided with mutual engagement means 4d, for example interlocking engagement means.

[0057] In more detail, in the packaging configuration PC, the second portions 4clb, 4c2b are designed to form a part of the external perimeter wall 4c, i.e., at a distance from the positioning seat PS, while the first portions 4cla, 4c2a are designed to form a part of the internal perimeter wall 4c, i.e., adjacent to the positioning seat PS.

[0058] According to the non-limiting embodiment of the present invention illustrated in the figures, the engagement means 4d comprise at least one tab 4d1 defined on the horizontal free edge FE, orthogonal to the main or longitudinal development direction of the first support component 4, of a respective first portion 4cla, 4c2a and a corresponding slot 4d2 defined on a fold line 4a, orthogonal to the main or longitudinal development direction of the first support component 4, delimiting a respective second portion 4clb, 4c2b. In particular, the slot 4d2 is designed to accommodate the respective tab 4d1 so as to engage the first 4c1 and the second section 4c2 with the base 4b.

[0059] Clearly, in other non-limiting embodiments of the present invention (not illustrated in the figures), the opposite could also be envisaged, i.e., at least one slot 4d2 defined on the horizontal free edge FE, orthogonal to the main or longitudinal development direction of the first support component 4, of a respective first portion 4cla, 4c2a and a corresponding tab 4d1 rising from a fold line 4a, orthogonal to the main or longitudinal development direction of the first support component 4, delimiting a respective second portion 4clb, 4c2b.

[0060] Always according to the non-limiting embodiment of the present invention illustrated in the figures and with reference to the third 4c3 and the fourth section 4c4, the same define, at the longitudinal notches 4c5, respective first 4c3a, 4c4a and second extension portions 4c3b, 4c4b which can be folded so as to be aligned with the fold line 4a, orthogonal to the main or longitudinal development direction of the first support component 4, delimiting the second portions 4clb, 4c2b.

[0061] In this way, when the first 4cla, 4c2a and the second portions 4clb, 4c2b are folded over each other and the first 4c1 and second portion 4c2 are engaged with the base 4a by means of the engagement means 4d, the first 4c3a, 4c4a and the second extension portions 4c3b, 4c4b are interposed and are tightened between the first 4cla, 4c2a and the second folded portions 4clb, 4c2b so as to keep the third 4c3 and the fourth portion 4c4 in position.

[0062] From a functional point of view, the operator first proceeds by folding the third 4c3 and the fourth section 4c4, then folds the first extension portions 4c3a, 4c4a so that they are aligned with the fold line 4a, orthogonal to the main or longitudinal development direction of the first support component 4, delimiting the second portion 4clb (see, for example, figure 4). Then, the same folds the first 4cla and the second portion 4c1b of the first section 4c 1 one on top of the other, engaging the latter with the base 4a, in fact, tightening the first extension portions 4c3a, 4c4a between the first 4c1 and the second folded portion 4clb of the first section 4c1 so as to keep the third 4c3 and the fourth section 4c4 in position (see, for example, figure 5). The process is also performed in a similar manner for the second extension portions 4c3b, 4c4b using the folding of the first 4c2a, and second portion 4c2b of the second section 4c2. In this way, according to the non-limiting embodiment of the present invention illustrated in the figures, it is possible to obtain the packaging configuration PC of the first support component 4 (see, for example, figure 6).

[0063] Preferably, the first support component 4 and the second support component 5 are the same, i.e., dimensionally and structurally the same, and in this case, all the preferred or optional or essential features described with reference to the first support component 4 are also present in the second support component 5. Furthermore, in this case, the passage of the second support component 5 from the closed or rest configuration RC to the packaging configuration PC also occurs in the same way as the first support component 4 (see, for example, figure 36).

[0064] Clearly, in other non-limiting embodiments of the present invention (not illustrated in the figures), a first support component 4 could also be envisaged having a perimeter wall 4c of a height greater or less than the perimeter wall 5c of the second support component 5 and, in such a case, the second support component 5 would be structurally but not dimensionally equal to the first support component 4. In any case, from a functional point of view, i.e., for the passage of the same from the closed or rest configuration RC to the packaging configuration PC, the same procedure already described for the first support component 4 would apply.

[0065] The plurality of packaging components 3 then comprises one or more locking or stabilizing inserts 6 designed to be inserted, when in the packaging configuration PC, into the positioning seat PS to lock or stabilize a respective part of a bicycle B.

[0066] Preferably, the one or more locking or stabilizing inserts 6 comprise a rear wheel stop component 7 that includes a housing component 7a for at least part of a rear wheel RW of a bicycle B, and at least two abutment components 7b with the first support component 4 and / or with the second support component 5 that can be assembled with the housing component 7a to define the packaging configuration PC of the rear wheel stop component 7.

[0067] According to the non-limiting embodiment of the present invention illustrated in the figures, the housing component 7a has a longitudinal main development direction and comprises a first end 7a1 and a second end 7a2 distal to the first end 7a1 at which respective first notches 7c are delimited for the assembly of a corresponding abutment component 7b.

[0068] In particular, according to this embodiment, four first notches 7c are provided at the first end 7a1 and another four first notches 7c at the second end 7a2 of the housing component 7a.

[0069] Optionally, with reference to an open configuration of the housing component 7a shown, for example, in figure 43, two of the four first notches 7c have a development parallel to the main longitudinal development direction of the housing component while the other two first notches 7c have a development transverse to the main longitudinal development direction of the housing component.

[0070] Advantageously, each abutment component 7b comprises a first end 7b 1 and a second end 7b2 distal from the first end 7b1 at which respective second notches 7d are delimited and designed to be engaged, for example by interlocking, with the corresponding first notches 7c of the housing component 7a.

[0071] According to the non-limiting embodiment of the present invention illustrated in the figures, each abutment component 7b has two second notches 7d at its first end 7b1 and two second notches 7d at its second end 7b2.

[0072] In more detail, the second notches 7d of the first 7b1 and second end 7b2 of an abutment component 7b are designed to be coupled with corresponding first notches 7c of the first end 7a1 of the housing component 7a while the second notches 7d of the first and second end 7b2 of the other abutment component 7b are designed to be coupled with corresponding first notches 7c of the second end 7a2 of the housing component 7a.

[0073] From a functional point of view, according to the non-limiting embodiment of the present invention illustrated in the figures, to obtain the packaging configuration PC of the rear wheel stop component 7, it is possible to couple the first notches 7c of the housing component 7a with the second notches 7d of the two abutment components 7b. In more detail, first the housing component 7a is folded along one or more fold lines 7a3 defined on the latter, for example developing along the main longitudinal development direction and centrally to the same, and then the two abutment components 7b are folded respectively along another one or more fold lines 7b3 of the same, for example along three fold lines 7b3, so that the first notches 7c can be coupled to each other with the second notches 7d (see, for example, figures 13, 14 and 15).

[0074] In the packaging configuration PC of the rear wheel stop component 7, the abutment components 7b advantageously define a substantially polyhedral configuration, for example with a number of faces that varies as a function of the number of fold lines 7b3 of the abutment component 7b, which supports the housing component 7a.

[0075] With reference to this aspect, in the packaging configuration PC of the rear wheel stop component 7, the abutment components 7b essentially act as pillars for the housing component 7a.

[0076] Preferably, the rear wheel stop component 7, when in the packaging configuration PC, is inserted into the positioning seat PS at a perimeter wall 4c and orthogonally to the main development direction of the first support component 4 so that the two abutment components 7b are positioned at a respective corner of the first support component 4 (see, for example, figures 16 and 17).

[0077] Regarding the housing component 7a, in the packaging configuration PC, it advantageously delimits a support channel SC for part of a rear wheel RW of a bicycle B.

[0078] From a dimensional point of view, the rear wheel stop component 7 can advantageously vary depending on the type of bicycle to be packaged and, consequently, also as a function of the dimensions of the box-shaped packaging body 15.

[0079] Preferably, the one or more locking or stabilizing inserts 6 also comprise a fork holder component 8 which includes a spacer component 8a designed to allow the spacing of the prongs of a fork FO of a bicycle B, for example by means of a spacer S, and at least two stop components 8b which can be assembled with the spacer component 8a to stop it in position and define the packaging configuration PC of the fork holder component 8.

[0080] According to the non-limiting embodiment of the present invention illustrated in the figures, the spacer component 8a delimits a plurality of through openings or slots 8a1 to allow the spacing of the prongs of a fork FO of a bicycle B, for example by passing a spacer S through them, and a plurality of incisions 8a2 transversal or orthogonal to the main development of the spacer component 8a for the assembly of the stop components 8b.

[0081] If desired, the plurality of through openings or slots 8a1 can be distributed along the longitudinal development of the spacer component 8a in multiple groups of through openings or slots 8a1, for example four groups spaced from each other and separated by at least one respective fold line 8a3 of the spacer component 8a, where each group comprises one or more rows of through openings or slots 8a1.

[0082] Advantageously, the through openings or slots 8a1 of the plurality have different dimensions from one another, so as to be able to allow the spacing of forks of different sizes by means of spacers of different sizes.

[0083] For the passage from the closed or rest configuration RC to the packaging configuration PC, the spacer component 8a is advantageously folded along the fold lines 8a3, for example along four fold lines 8a3, so as to present the plurality of through openings or slots 8a1 arranged, if desired facing, in such a way as to allow the two prongs of a fork FO of a bicycle B to be connected (see, for example, figures 7 and 8), for example by inserting between such through openings or slots 8a1 a spacer element S designed to keep the prongs of the fork FO separate and stable during shipping or transport of the bicycle B. The stop components 8b are then engaged with the incisions 8a2 to stop the spacer component 8a in position (see, for example, figures 9 and 10).

[0084] From a functional point of view, according to the non-limiting embodiment of the present invention illustrated in the figures, in the packaging configuration PC, the fork holder component 8 is positioned so as to present the spacer component 8a interposed between the prongs of a fork FO of a bicycle B and a spacer S is passed between several through openings or slots 8a1 facing each other and corresponding and connected, for example screwed, between the ends of the two prongs of the fork FO to keep them spaced apart during shipping or transport (see, for example, figure 11).

[0085] Preferably, the one or more locking or stabilizing inserts 6 comprise a frame locking component 9 delimiting a plurality of fold lines 9a that allow the folding of the same for the passage from the closed or rest configuration RC to the packaging configuration PC and vice versa. In particular, the frame locking component 9 is designed to lock the frame FR of a bicycle B.

[0086] Advantageously, the frame locking component 9 delimits a through opening 9a1 configured to lock and stabilize, for example by interlocking, the frame FR of a bicycle B.

[0087] From a functional point of view, according to the non-limiting embodiment of the present invention illustrated in the figures, the frame locking component 9 is folded so as to assume a rectangular parallelepiped configuration and positioned so that the front portion of the frame FR of a bicycle B that separates the fork FO from the handlebar H is housed, locked or, in any case, stabilized in the through opening 9a1 (see, for example, figures 18 and 19).

[0088] If desired, the packaging configuration PC of the frame holder component 9 can be consolidated or fixed by applying adhesive means AM, such as adhesive tape or glue (see, for example, figure 20).

[0089] Advantageously, the one or more locking or stabilizing inserts 6 comprise a handlebar cover component 10 that delimits a plurality of fold lines 10a that allow the folding of the same for the passage from the closed or rest configuration RC to said packaging configuration PC and vice versa. In particular, the handlebar cover component 10 is designed to wrap and contain the handlebar H of a bicycle B (see, for example, figures 21 and 22).

[0090] If desired, the packaging configuration PC of the handlebar cover component 10 can also be consolidated or fixed by applying adhesive means, such as adhesive tape or glue (see, for example, figure 23).

[0091] Preferably, the plurality of packaging components 3 comprises at least one frame component 12 delimiting a plurality of fold lines 12a that allow the folding of the same for the passage from the closed or rest configuration RC to the packaging configuration PC and vice versa. In particular, the frame component 12 is designed to be inserted along at least part of the perimeter of the first support component 4 or, better, of its base 4b to support the second support component 5 during the coupling with the first support component 4.

[0092] The frame component 12 can be made in multiple pieces or even as a single body.

[0093] If the latter is made of multiple pieces, they can be connected to each other by applying adhesive means, such as tape or glue.

[0094] From a functional point of view, the frame component 12 can be inserted into the positioning seat PS along at least part of the perimeter of the first support component 4 so as to be orthogonal to the main lying plane of the latter (see, for example, figures 24 and 25).

[0095] Preferably, the height or development of the frame component 12 in a transverse or orthogonal direction to the main lying plane of the first support component 4 is greater than the height or development of the perimeter wall 4c, for example more than double the same.

[0096] Optionally, the one or more locking or stabilizing inserts 6 comprise an accessory holder component 11 that delimits a plurality of fold lines 11a that allow the folding of the same for the passage from the closed or rest configuration RC to the packaging configuration PC and vice versa. In particular, the accessory holder component 11 is designed to contain one or more accessories P of a bicycle B, for example pedals P and / or also a battery charger in the case of an electric bicycle (see, for example, figures 26 to 29).

[0097] If desired, the packaging configuration PC of the accessory holder component 11 can be a box-shaped configuration.

[0098] Advantageously, in its packaging configuration PC, the accessory holder component 11, if present, is positioned in the positioning seat PS (see, for example, figure 30).

[0099] Preferably, a first part or element 14 of the package 1 or, better, of its external casing 1a, is used to obtain a front wheel holder component 14 of a bicycle B (see, for example, figure 31).

[0100] From a functional point of view, the front wheel holder component 14 is advantageously designed to wrap the front wheel of a bicycle B. In particular, the front wheel holder component 14, according to the non-limiting embodiment of the present invention illustrated in the figures, comprises two parallel fold lines 14a which delimit a support area SA for the front wheel during its wrapping (see, for example, figure 32).

[0101] Advantageously, the front wheel holder component 14 can be positioned within the positioning seat PS, for example above or below the bicycle B (see, for example, figure 33).

[0102] Optionally, after positioning the front wheel of a bicycle B in the front wheel holder component 14, it is possible to fix the containment configuration of such component by applying adhesive means, for example adhesive tape or glue.

[0103] If desired, a second part or element 13 of the package 1 or, better, of its external casing 1a, can be used to obtain a spare wheel holder component 13 or an information and / or advertising component 13 or in any case a protection component 13 of the frame FR of the bicycle B that can be positioned inside the box-shaped packaging body 15 (see, for example, figures 34 and 35). In any case, the second part or element 13, regardless of the specific functionality mentioned above, can also be advantageously used to give more structure and solidity to the box-shaped packaging body 15.

[0104] According to the non-limiting embodiment of the present invention, the external casing 1a of the package 1 is made of two parts, i.e., the first part or element 14 which will be used to obtain a front wheel holder component 14 of a bicycle B and a second part or element 13 which, optionally, will be used as a spare wheel holder component or as an information and / or advertising component 13 which can be positioned within the box-shaped packaging body 15.

[0105] If desired, the second part or element 13 of the package 1 can be used as a protection component of the frame FR of a bicycle B positioned in the positioning seat PS, for example by positioning it under the frame FR. In this case, the frame FR is therefore interposed between the protection component and the front wheel holder component 12.

[0106] Preferably, each component included in the package 1 is, at the end of the packaging of a bicycle B, included in the box-shaped packaging body 15.

[0107] If desired, to consolidate and / or stabilize the coupling between the first support component 4 and the second support component 5 after the packaging of the bicycle B, it is possible to apply to the box-shaped packaging body 15 adhesive means AD, for example adhesive tape or glue (see, for example, figures 39 and 40).

[0108] Optionally, to assist the operator during packaging operations, one, some or all of the packaging components 3 of the plurality may present at least one written and / or graphic information, for example printed, relating to their respective function to be performed during the packaging of the bicycle B.

[0109] By way of example, the fork holder component 8 could have the words "fork holder component" written on one of its portions, together with a number indicating a respective step among a possible succession of steps to be carried out preferably in an orderly fashion to package bicycle B.

[0110] Subject-matter of the present invention is also a method for packaging a bicycle B to be shipped or transported with a package according to the present invention or according to non-limiting embodiments of the present invention.

[0111] Such method initially comprises the steps of opening the package 1, taking the first support component 4, unrolling it or in any case spreading it on the ground or on a work surface and then folding it along at least some of its fold lines 4a to make it pass from the closed or rest configuration RC to the packaging configuration PC.

[0112] This step can advantageously be carried out as described above with reference to the description of the first support component 4.

[0113] The step of placing a bicycle B in the positioning seat PS defined by the first support component 4 in the packaging configuration PC is then included.

[0114] The step of taking one or more locking or stabilizing inserts 6 from the package 1 and make them pass from the closed or rest configuration RC to the packaging configuration PC is then provided.

[0115] The method according to the present invention then comprises inserting the one or more locking or stabilizing inserts 6 into the positioning seat PS to lock or stabilize a respective part of the bicycle B.

[0116] It should be noted that the insertion step could also occur before the positioning step, for example in the case in which the locking or stabilizing insert 6 is a fork holder component 8. In this case, the bicycle B or, better, the fork FO of the same, would first be locked or stabilized by means of the fork holder component 8 and then positioned in the positioning seat PS.

[0117] Subsequently, it is included, before or after the previous steps, the step of taking the second support component 5, unrolling it or in any case spreading it on the ground or on a work surface and then folding it along at least some of its fold lines 5a to make it pass from the closed or rest configuration RC to the packaging configuration PC.

[0118] In the case in which the second support component 5 is equal to the first support component 4, this step can advantageously be carried out as described above with reference to the description of the first support component 4.

[0119] Finally, after the previous steps, the step of coupling the second support component 5 with the first support component 4 is foreseen to define the box-shaped packaging body 15.

[0120] Clearly, the packaging method may also include preferred and / or optional steps depending on the specific composition and configuration of the plurality of packaging components 3 of the packaging kit 2, such as for example the relative passage steps of the plurality of packaging components 3 from the respective closed or rest configurations RC to the respective packaging configurations PC and the insertion steps of such components into the positioning seat PS.

[0121] Preferably, at the end of the packaging of the bicycle B, all the components 3 of the package 1 as well as possibly the external casing of the same 1a, are included in the box-shaped packaging body 15.

[0122] Subject-matter of the present invention is also a packaging kit 2 for a bicycle B to be shipped or transported, including a plurality of packaging components 3, each defining a respective closed or rest configuration RC and a packaging configuration PC when used to package a bicycle B. The plurality of packaging components 3 comprises at least a first support component 4 and at least a second support component 5 delimiting respective pluralities of fold lines 4a, 5a which allow the folding of the same for the passage from the closed or rest configuration RC to the packaging configuration PC and vice versa.

[0123] In the packaging configuration PC, the first support component 4 delimits a positioning seat PS for a bicycle B and the second support component 5 can be coupled with the first support component 4 so as to define a box-shaped packaging body 15.

[0124] The plurality of packaging components 3 then comprises one or more locking or stabilizing inserts 6 designed to be inserted, when they are in the packaging configuration PC, in the positioning seat PS to lock or stabilize a respective part of a bicycle B.

[0125] In the closed or rest configuration RC, the first support component 4 and the second support component 5 have a surface size or size in a horizontal or plan projection plane or in plan that is smaller, preferably by at least a quarter, for example smaller by at least half, possibly by two thirds or even three quarters, than their respective surface area or in a horizontal projection plane or in plan in the packaging configuration PC and / or the first support component 4, in the packaging configuration PC, is configured as a tub or small container so as to allow the housing of a bicycle B in a closed perimeter before the final coupling of the second support component 5 for the definition of the box-shaped packaging body 15.

[0126] In this regard, the tub or tray configuration of the first support component 4 defines, in its packaging configuration PC, two or more wall sections coupled to each other which, as will be seen below, will constitute a closed perimeter wall 4c and will delimit the positioning seat PS with a base 4b of the first support component 4.

[0127] Clearly, the packaging kit 2 and, therefore, the plurality of packaging components 3 can then present all the preferred or optional features already described with reference to the packaging kit 2 of the package 1, which for brevity will not be repeated.

[0128] Finally, subject-matter of the present invention is also a method for packaging a bicycle B to be shipped or transported with a kit according to the present invention or according to non-limiting embodiments of the present invention. This method initially comprises the step of unrolling or in any case spreading it on the ground or on a work surface the first support component 4 and then folding it along at least some of its fold lines 4a to make it pass from the closed or rest configuration RC to the packaging configuration PC.

[0129] Next, the method comprises the step of placing a bicycle B in the positioning seat PS defined by the first support component 4 in the packaging configuration PC.

[0130] Then, the step of making the one or more locking or stabilizing inserts 6 to pass from the closed or rest configuration RC to the packaging configuration PC is envisaged.

[0131] Subsequently, the step of inserting the one or more locking or stabilizing inserts 6 into the positioning seat PS to lock or stabilize a respective part of the bicycle B is provided.

[0132] Therefore, before or after the previous steps, the step of unrolling or in any case spreading on the ground or on a work surface the second support component 5 and then folding it along at least some of its fold lines 5a to make it pass from the closed or rest configuration RC to the packaging configuration PC is included.

[0133] Finally, the method comprises, after the previous steps, the step of coupling the second support component 5 with the first support component 4 to define the box-shaped packaging body 15.

[0134] Clearly, the packaging method may also include preferred and / or optional steps depending on the specific composition and configuration of the plurality of packaging components 3 of the packaging kit 2, such as for example the relative passage steps of the plurality of packaging components 3 from the respective closed or rest configurations RC to the respective packaging configurations PC and the insertion steps of such components into the positioning seat PS.

[0135] The package, the kit and the respective packaging methods allow to simplify and speed up the packaging of a bicycle B.

[0136] Furthermore, the package, the kit and the respective packaging methods deeply reduce the overall dimensions for the packaging of a bicycle B and, consequently, also the related shipping or transport costs.

[0137] The package, the kit and the respective packaging methods allow a high modularity and versatility to adapt to the packaging of different types of bicycles.

[0138] Furthermore, the package, the kit and the respective packaging methods allow for intuitive packaging and can, therefore, be used directly even by an inexperienced seller.

[0139] It should also be considered that the package 1 as well as the packaging kit 2 is completely reusable, since when a bicycle B packaged with a package 1 according to the present invention or according to non-limiting embodiments of the present invention is received, for example, by a buyer, the same can reuse the package 1 and / or the kit to package another bicycle B.

[0140] It has thus been seen how the invention fully achieves the proposed objects.

[0141] Modifications and variations of the invention are possible within the scope of protection defined by the claims.
