Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The invention in a broader sense belongs to the field of navigation, and specifically refers to awning for sun protection, which is also used to cover semi-open boats.
[0002] (IPC B63B17 / 02) Document US 5520139 A discloses a similar awning for boats.A detailed description of the invention
[0003] This awning has a structure consisting of two parts, a first structure A and a second structure B.
[0004] The first structure (A), as e.g. shown in figure 1, has a forefront (8) made of round or square stainless steel profiles bent in the shape of the letter U, which has fixed double rings (4) on the tops to connect with the second structure (B). The forefront (8), under the double rings (4), is extended by the same profiles at an angle (135°) seen from the bottom, for the length of the second structure (B) Figure 1, where at the very end, the profiles of the first structure (A) have foot double rings (16) for connection with leg brackets (1) and form hinges for movement of the forefront (8) of the first structure (A) up and down. The brackets (1) are attached to a boat (7) with screws (2). The first structure (A) has hooks (11) for securing the awning in a closed position which are attached to double brackets (6) on the boat and to safety hook supports (12) on the first structure (A). The second structure (B) with fixed rings (5) and shafts (13) is attached to the forefront rings (4) by forming hinges for moving the rear part of the second structure (B) up and down.
[0005] The second structure (B) has a square shape, the dimensions of which correspond to (i.e., agree with) the distance between the forefront rings (4) and the foot rings (16) of the first structure (A). The awning and cover for boats has two lower gas springs (3) and two upper gas springs (10), with which the awning is raised and stands in a horizontal position. As it is apparent from Figure 6, the two lower gas springs (3) are attached to the first structure (A) on lower shock absorber brackets (9) and fasten the other side to the double brackets (6) on the boat. The two upper gas springs (10) are attached on one side to the structure (A) on first upper shock absorber brackets (14) and on the other side to the structure (B) on second upper shock absorber brackets (14), by raising the structure (B) straight with the forefront (8) of the first structure (A) and when all the gas shock absorbers are open (i.e. extended), the forefront (8) of the first structure (A) and the second structure (B) stand in a horizontal position (i.e., are oriented horizontally, see, e.g., figure 3). This configuration preferably allows the folowing: When we want to reveal the boat, it is only necessary to release the hooks (11) from the safety brackets (12), so that all four gas springs automatically raise the awning to the sun protection position. On this structure, we can use a fixed canvas (15), see, e.g., figure 5, or a shrinkable canvas.Technical problem
[0006] There are various awnings and covers for boats on the market. Boat awnings are used for sun protection, but to completely protect the boat from rain, we must cover it with another type of cover, especially when it is tied to the dock, even if the boat is equipped with automatic water pumps. The problem lies in the high price and the fact that covering and uncovering requires a lot of time and is not practical, especially in places where the weather is variable.Solution of Problem
[0007] The essence of the invention is a new awning that is designed to be used for two purposes and is used to cover the boat when the boat is not in use, and when it is used, it is raised in a few seconds in the form of a summer awning for sun protection. When the boat is covered, it is necessary only to remove the safety hooks and the structure is automatically lifted with the help of four shock absorbers in the form of a summer awning. This awning can be produced with a favorable price, it can be used for all semi-open boats and used in a practical and very efficient way.Brief description of images
[0008] Figure 1 - shows the structure of the awning in parts. Figure 2 - shows the structure of the awning in parts attached to the boat when the first structure is closed (retracted), and the second structure is opened (extended). Figure 3 - shows the structure of the awning in parts attached to the boat when it is in the form of a protective awning from the sun (first and second structure opened / extended). Figure 4 - shows the structure of the awning in the form of a protective rain cover. Figure 5 - shows a boat covered with the awning protecting it from the rain. Figure 6 - shows the awning in the form of sun protection.
Claims
1. This awning and cover is consisting of a first and a second structure (A, B), where it is characterized by the fact that the first structure (A) has a forefront (8) made of round or square stainless steel profiles bent in the shape of the letter U, which has fixed double forefront rings (4) on the tops, on which the second structure (B) is hung with fixed rings (5) and shafts (13) by forming hinges for the movement of the rear part of the second structure (B) up and down which has a square shape, which is raised by two upper gas springs (10) attached on one side to the first structure (A) on first upper gas spring brackets (14) and on the other side on the structure (B) on second upper gas spring brackets (14), the forefront (8) under the double forefront rings (4) is extended by the same profiles at an angle of 135 degrees seen from the bottom, for the length of the second structure (B), where at the very end they have foot double rings (16) which are attached by shafts (13) to foot brackets (1) which are fixable with screws (2) to the boat (7) by forming hinges for the movement of the forefront (8) up and down, which is raised by two lower gas springs (3) attached on one side to the first structure (A) on lower gas spring brackets (9) and on the other side to double brackets (6) which are attachable to the boat as that when all the gas springs are open, the forefront (8) of the first structure (A) and the second structure (B) are in a horizontal position, so that the entire surface of the second structure (B) and the forefront (8) is used for fixing a canvas (15), while hooks (11) are attached to the double brackets (6) on the boat and to safety brackets (12) which are fixed to the first structure (A) and serve to fix the awning in the closed position.
