Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a pressure cleaning device with a pump having a motor-driven pumping device for conveying cleaning fluid with an inlet and an outlet, and with a connecting part for connecting a fluid supply line for providing cleaning fluid, wherein the connecting part is in flow connection with the inlet of the pumping device via a first flow path and a first outlet line is connected to the outlet of the pumping device, and wherein the pressure cleaning device has a second flow path bypassing the pumping device, to which a second outlet line is connected.
[0002] With the aid of such a pressure cleaning device, a cleaning fluid, preferably water, can be conveyed by means of a pump having a motor-driven pumping device and directed under increased pressure onto a surface to be cleaned. The pressure can be, for example, more than 10 bar, in particular 15 bar to 30 bar, in order to loosen dirt from the surface to be cleaned. The pressure cleaning device has a connecting part to which a fluid supply line can be connected to provide the cleaning fluid. The connecting part is in flow connection via a first flow path with an inlet of the pumping device, via which inlet cleaning fluid can be supplied to the pumping device. The cleaning fluid can be supplied under increased pressure to a first output line via an outlet of the pumping device for outputting the cleaning fluid conveyed by the pumping device.
[0003] The flow rate of the pumping device can, for example, be between 100 l / h and 200 l / h. Such a flow rate of cleaning fluid, delivered at increased pressure, is sufficient to loosen dirt particles from the surface to be cleaned. In some cases, however, the flow rate is insufficient to completely rinse the loosened dirt particles from the surface to be cleaned. While pressure cleaning devices with pumping devices with a higher flow rate are also known, allowing for a good rinsing effect, this is associated with increased energy consumption and a heavier pressure cleaning device.US Pat. No. 7,854,398 B2 therefore proposes a pressure cleaning device in which, in addition to a first flow path through which cleaning fluid can be supplied to a pumping device to increase pressure so that dirt particles can be removed from a surface, a second flow path is used. This second flow path bypasses the pumping device and supplies cleaning fluid to a second outlet line, through which the cleaning fluid can be directed at the surface to be cleaned at relatively low pressure to rinse dirt particles off the surface. However, the known pressure cleaning device is considerably large and not particularly user-friendly.
[0004] The object of the present invention is therefore to further develop a pressure cleaning device of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it has a more compact design and is more user-friendly.
[0005] This object is achieved according to the invention in a pressure cleaning device of the generic type in that a first valve device is arranged in the first flow path for selectively releasing and interrupting the first flow path and that the second flow path branches off from the first flow path downstream of the first valve device.
[0006] In the pressure cleaning device according to the invention, a first valve device is arranged in the first flow path connecting the connecting part to the inlet of the pump device, with which the first flow path can be selectively opened and interrupted. When the first flow path is opened, cleaning fluid can be supplied to the pump device, which can then be discharged at increased pressure via the first outlet line. When the first flow path is interrupted, the supply of cleaning fluid to the pump device is prevented. Downstream of the first valve device, i.e. in the area between the first valve device and the inlet of the pump device, the second flow path branches off from the first flow path, bypassing the pump device, via which second flow path cleaning fluid, whose pressure has not been increased, can be supplied to the second outlet line and discharged via this. The first valve device can thus control both the dispensing of cleaning fluid via the first outlet line and the dispensing of cleaning fluid via the second outlet line. This enables user-friendly handling and a compact design of the pressure cleaning device.
[0007] Advantageously, the first flow path and the second flow path are integrated into the pump.
[0008] A particularly compact design is achieved in a preferred embodiment of the pressure cleaning device according to the invention in that the first output line and the second output line are integrated into the pump.
[0009] The first valve device is advantageously coupled to a manually operable first control element. This allows an operator to manually control the dispensing of cleaning fluid via the first output line and the second output line by manually operating the first control element.
[0010] It is advantageous if the first valve device has a first closing body which is mechanically coupled to the first operating element and can be moved back and forth between a closed position and an open position.
[0011] In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, particularly simple handling is achieved in that the first closing body can be moved from the closed position to the open position by means of the first operating element against a spring-elastic restoring force. By actuating the first operating element, the operator can move the first closing body from its closed position to its open position against the spring-elastic restoring force, thereby enabling cleaning fluid to be dispensed via the two outlet lines. If the operator stops actuating the first operating element, the first closing body automatically moves back to its closed position under the effect of the spring-elastic restoring force, so that no more cleaning fluid can be dispensed via the two outlet lines.
[0012] It is advantageous if the pressure cleaning device according to the invention is designed as a handheld pressure cleaning device and, for this purpose, has a handle that can be grasped by the operator. It is advantageous if the first control element is arranged on the handle. This allows an operator to grasp the handle with one hand to guide the pressure cleaning device along the surface to be cleaned, and at the same time, the operator can also use the same hand to actuate the first control element to control the discharge of cleaning fluid via the first outlet line and the second outlet line.
[0013] The handle is preferably designed like a pistol grip. This allows for particularly user-friendly handling of the pressure cleaning device.
[0014] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the first operating element is designed as a trigger lever.
[0015] It is advantageous if a second valve device is arranged in the second flow path for selectively opening and interrupting the second flow path, wherein the second valve device is coupled to a manually operable second control element. The second valve device makes it possible to prevent the discharge of cleaning fluid via the second outlet line while simultaneously discharging cleaning fluid via the first outlet line. For this purpose, the operator can open the first flow path using the first valve device and interrupt the second flow path using the second valve device. This allows cleaning fluid to be directed at the surface to be cleaned at increased pressure and the maximum flow rate of the pump device to loosen dirt particles, which can then be rinsed off the surface with the second flow path enabled, while simultaneously discharging cleaning fluid via both the first outlet line and the second outlet line. If no more cleaning fluid is to be dispensed onto the surface, the operator only needs to actuate the first control element to interrupt the first flow path using the first valve device, without having to also actuate the second control element coupled to the second valve device. This makes it easier for the operator to interrupt the dispensing of cleaning fluid for a short time, as in order to resume dispensing of cleaning fluid, it is only necessary to press the first control element again.
[0016] In an advantageous embodiment of the pressure cleaning device according to the invention, the second valve device has a second closing body which is mechanically coupled to the second operating element and can be moved back and forth between an open position and a closed position by means of the second operating element, wherein the second closing body retains its current position if the second operating element is not actuated. With such an embodiment of the invention, the operator can selectively open or interrupt the second flow path by moving the second closing body selectively into the open position or into the closed position by means of the second operating element. If the second operating element is not actuated, the closing body retains its current position, i.e., it remains in its open position or in its closed position. This allows the operator, for example, to move the second closing body into its open position by means of the second operating element and then to briefly release cleaning fluid via both output lines several times in succession by successive short actuations of the first operating element without the operator having to also actuate the second operating element.
[0017] It is advantageous if the second closing body is rotatable about a rotational axis and has a through-bore aligned perpendicular to the rotational axis, which in a first rotational position of the second closing body is aligned with a passage channel arranged in the second flow path and in a second rotational position is aligned perpendicular to the passage channel, wherein the closing body can be moved back and forth between the first rotational position and the second rotational position by means of the second operating element.
[0018] Advantageously, the second control element is designed as a rotary knob that can be rotated around the rotation axis of the second locking body. This allows for particularly user-friendly handling.
[0019] The second closing body is advantageously designed as a valve rod which is mounted so as to be rotatable about the axis of rotation.
[0020] As mentioned at the beginning, the pressure of the cleaning fluid supplied to the pump device can be increased using the pump device. Water can preferably be used as the cleaning fluid. The connecting part can be connected via the fluid supply line, for example, to a water supply network that provides water under a certain pre-pressure, for example a pressure of 1 bar to 5 bar, in particular 1.5 bar to 3.5 bar. It is advantageous if cleaning fluid can also be sucked in via the fluid supply line, so that the pump device can also be operated in suction mode. In suction mode, cleaning fluid can be sucked in from a reservoir, for example from a lake or a storage container in which the cleaning fluid is not under pressure. When the pump device is in suction mode, there is a negative pressure upstream of its inlet, under the effect of which the cleaning fluid is sucked in.
[0021] In order to prevent ambient air from being sucked into the first flow path from the second outlet line via the second flow path bypassing the pumping device during suction mode, a particularly preferred embodiment of the pressure cleaning device according to the invention provides a third valve device in the second flow path, which is configured to automatically interrupt the second flow path when subjected to a negative pressure prevailing in the area between the third valve device and the first flow path. If the pumping device is in suction mode, the third valve device reliably prevents the inflow of ambient air via the second outlet line and the second flow path to the first flow path, without the operator having to take any special measures. If cleaning fluid is sucked in by the pumping device, for example, from a lake or a garden pond, a negative pressure exists in the first flow path. This negative pressure causes the third valve device located in the second flow path to automatically interrupt the second flow path, preventing air from entering the first flow path via the second flow path. If the suction mode is terminated by supplying cleaning fluid, which is already under a pre-pressurized level, to the pumping device via the first flow path, the third valve device automatically reopens the second flow path.
[0022] It is advantageous if the third valve device is arranged downstream of the second valve device, that is to say in a region of the second flow path between the second valve device and the second output line.
[0023] The third valve device preferably has a third closing body that can be moved back and forth between a closed position and a furnace position. In the closed position, the third closing body rests against a valve seat and, in the open position, maintains a distance from the valve seat. The third closing body can, for example, be spherical.
[0024] It is particularly advantageous if the third closing body automatically assumes its open position when subjected to a predetermined overpressure prevailing in the area between the third valve device and the first flow path. The predetermined overpressure can be, for example, 0.5 bar to 1 bar. If a negative pressure prevails in the area of the second flow path between the third valve device and the first flow path, the third closing body automatically assumes its closed position, which it maintains until the pressure prevailing in the second flow path in the area between the third valve device and the first flow path assumes a value greater than zero, in particular a value of at least 0.5 to 1.0 bar.
[0025] Preferably, the third closing body is biased into its closed position by a return spring. With such a configuration, the third closing body remains in its closed position until the pressure prevailing in the area between the third valve device and the first flow path reaches a value under the action of which the third closing body is moved into its open position against the restoring force acting on it.
[0026] The third valve device can, for example, be designed as a check valve.
[0027] In one advantageous embodiment, the pressure cleaning device according to the invention is particularly user-friendly in that it has a coupling device for a rechargeable battery for supplying power to an electric motor that drives the pumping device. The rechargeable battery allows the electric motor to be operated independently of the availability of a power grid. Such a configuration is particularly advantageous when the pressure cleaning device is designed as a handheld pressure cleaning device, since the use of a battery eliminates the need for a power cable, which complicates handling of the pressure cleaning device.
[0028] In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the pressure cleaning device comprises a discharge device for discharging cleaning fluid. The discharge device can be configured as a single or multiple-part unit and comprises a first discharge channel and a second discharge channel, wherein the first discharge channel is fluid-tightly and detachably connectable to the first outlet line, and the second discharge channel is fluid-tightly and detachably connectable to the second outlet line. The discharge device can be tubular, for example. In particular, the discharge device can form a jet pipe.
[0029] It is particularly advantageous if the first discharge channel can be plugged into the first outlet line, and the second discharge channel can be plugged into the second outlet line. This allows for particularly easy handling of the discharge device when connecting it to the outlet lines.
[0030] It is advantageous if the discharge device can be detachably connected to a housing of the pressure cleaning device, wherein the housing at least partially surrounds the pump, an electric motor driving the pump device and a gear device arranged between the electric motor and the pump device.
[0031] The following description of a preferred embodiment of the invention serves to explain it in more detail in conjunction with the drawings. They show: Figure 1: a side view of a pressure cleaning device; Figure 2: a partially cut-away side view of the pressure cleaning device from Figure 1 ; Figure 3: an enlarged view of detail X from Figure 2 ; Figure 4: a partial sectional view of the pressure cleaning device along the line 4-4 in Figure 3 .
[0032] The drawing schematically illustrates an advantageous embodiment of a pressure cleaning device according to the invention and is designated overall by the reference numeral 10. The pressure cleaning device 10 comprises a housing 12 and a discharge device 14, which is detachably connected to the housing.
[0033] The housing 12 has an elongated upper housing part 16 with an upper side 18, a lower side 20 and a front side 22 and a rear side 24. The housing 12 also has a lower housing part 26 which adjoins the lower side 20 of the upper housing part 16.
[0034] In the illustrated embodiment, the pressure cleaning device 10 is designed as a hand-held pressure cleaning device. For this purpose, the lower housing part 26 forms a handle in the form of a pistol grip 30, which has an upper end region 32 adjoining the underside 20 of the upper housing part 16 and a lower end region 34 arranged at a distance from the upper end region 32. Adjoining the lower end region 34 of the pistol grip 30 is a coupling device 36 of the lower housing part 26, to which a rechargeable battery can be connected, which is known per se and therefore not shown in the drawing for the sake of clarity. The rechargeable battery can be detachably connected mechanically and electrically to the coupling device 36.
[0035] The pistol grip 30 can be grasped by an operator with the hand, with the upper end region 32 being assigned to the thumb and index finger of the user.
[0036] An electric motor 38, a gear device 40 and a pump 42 are arranged in the upper housing part 16 and extend along a longitudinal axis 44 of the upper housing part 16.
[0037] The pump 42 has a pumping device 46, which can be driven by the electric motor 38 via the gear device 40 and has a plurality of pistons, each immersed in a pumping chamber, which are arranged on a partial circle and can be moved back and forth parallel to the longitudinal axis 44. To achieve a better overview, only one piston 48 is partially shown in the drawing, which immerses in a pumping chamber 50. Such pumping devices are known per se to those skilled in the art. By means of the pumping device 46, a cleaning fluid, preferably water, can be conveyed, wherein the pressure of the cleaning fluid can be increased, for example to a value of at least 10 bar, in particular 15 bar to 30 bar.
[0038] The pumping device 46 has an inlet 52, which is connected to an annular chamber 54 surrounding a central outlet 55 of the pumping device. The pumping chambers 50 are each connected to the annular chamber 54 via a spring-loaded inlet valve 56 and to the outlet 55 via a spring-loaded outlet valve 58. If the piston 48, which is immersed in the respective pumping chamber 50, is moved reciprocally, cleaning fluid flows in a known manner via the inlet valve 56 into the pumping chamber 50, which is then discharged at increased pressure via the outlet valve 58. A first outlet line 62 of the pump 42, through which the cleaning fluid can be discharged at increased pressure, is connected to the outlet 55.
[0039] To supply cleaning fluid, the pressure cleaning device 10 has a connecting part 64 that extends through a first housing opening 66 located on the underside 20 of the upper housing part 16 in the area between the pistol grip 30 and the front side 22 of the upper housing part 16. A fluid supply line (not shown in the drawing), such as a garden hose, can be connected to the connecting part 64. A hose nipple 68 can be used for this purpose; this can be screwed onto the connecting part 64 protruding from the upper housing part 16.
[0040] The connecting part 64 forms an inlet channel 70, which is oriented perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 44 of the upper housing part 16 and to which a connecting channel 72 oriented parallel to the longitudinal axis 44 is connected, which is connected via a connecting passage 74 to an access channel 76 that extends to the inlet 52 of the pumping device 46. The inlet channel 70, in combination with the connecting channel 72, the connecting passage 74, and the access channel 76, forms a first flow path via which the connecting part 64 is in flow connection with the inlet 52 of the pumping device 46.
[0041] A valve tappet 78 extends into the connecting channel 72 and can be moved back and forth parallel to the longitudinal axis 44 of the upper housing part 16, forming a first closing body 80 that interacts with a first valve seat 82. The first valve seat 82 is designed in the form of a constriction of the connecting channel 72, which constriction is arranged immediately upstream of the connecting passage 74 with respect to the flow direction of the cleaning fluid. The first closing body 80 can be moved back and forth between a closed position and an open position by means of the valve tappet 78. In the closed position, the first closing body 80 rests fluid-tight against the first valve seat 82, and in the open position, the first closing body 80 is spaced from the first valve seat 82. The first closing body 80, in combination with the first valve seat 82, forms a first valve device 84.A push rod 86 is connected to the valve tappet 78 in the direction of the pistol grip 30, which push rod is connected in one piece to the valve tappet 78 and is pretensioned by a first return spring 88 in the direction of the first valve seat 82, so that the first closing body 80 is pressed against the first valve seat 82 under the spring-elastic restoring force of the first return spring 88.
[0042] The push rod 86 extends toward the pistol grip 30 to a first operating element 90, which is arranged at the upper end region 32 of the pistol grip 30 and is mechanically coupled to the push rod 86. The first operating element 90 is designed as a trigger lever 92, which can be pivoted toward the pistol grip 30 by the operator when gripping the pistol grip 30 with their index finger. The trigger lever 92 has a driver 94, which bears against a coupling section 96 of the push rod 86, so that when the trigger lever 92 is actuated, the push rod 86 is displaced in the direction away from the first valve seat 82, counter to the restoring force of the first return spring 88. By actuating the trigger lever 92, an operator can thus release the first flow path by means of the first valve device 84.If the operator releases the trigger lever 92, the first flow path is interrupted by means of the first valve device 84 by pressing the first closing body 80 against the first valve seat 82 under the action of the first return spring 88.
[0043] Downstream of the first valve device 84, in the inlet region of the access channel 76 directly adjoining the connecting passage 74, a second flow path branches off from the first flow path, wherein the second flow path extends, bypassing the pump device 46, to a second outlet line 98 of the pump 42. The second outlet line 98 is aligned parallel to the first outlet line 62. The second flow path is formed by a bypass channel 100 aligned parallel to the access channel 76 and an opening 102 adjoining the bypass channel 100 in the direction of the second outlet line 98, via which opening the bypass channel 100 is connected to the second outlet line 98. A valve body 104 is held at the opening 102 facing the bypass channel 100, which forms a passage channel 106 that connects the bypass channel 100 to the opening 102.
[0044] Immediately upstream of the passage channel 106, the bypass channel 100 is penetrated by a valve rod 108, which is aligned transversely to the longitudinal axis 44 of the upper housing part 16 and, with a free end region 110, extends through a second housing opening 112 of the housing 12 and is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to a second operating element 114 in the form of a rotary knob 116. Using the rotary knob 116, the valve rod 108 can be rotated about its longitudinal axis 118. The longitudinal axis 118 thus forms a rotation axis of the valve rod 108.
[0045] Aligned with the passage channel 106 of the valve body 104, the valve rod 108 has a through-bore 120 which, in a first rotational position of the valve rod 108, is aligned with the passage channel 106 and, in a second rotational position offset by 90° to the first rotational position, is aligned perpendicular to the passage channel 106. In the first valve position, the valve rod 108 thus provides access to the passage channel 106, which it blocks in the second rotational position. The valve rod 108 thus forms a second closing body 122 immediately upstream of the passage channel 106, which, in combination with the passage channel 106, forms a second valve device 124 which is coupled to the second operating element 114 in the form of the rotary knob 116 and with the aid of which the operator can selectively open or interrupt the second flow path. For this purpose, the operator can rotate the rotary knob 116 about the longitudinal axis 118 of the valve rod 108. If the rotary knob 116 is not actuated, the valve rod 108 and thus also the second closing body 122 retain their current rotational position.
[0046] On its side facing away from the valve rod 108, the valve body 104 forms a third valve seat 126, which interacts with a third closing body 128 in the form of a valve ball 130, which extends into the opening 102 and is pressed against the third valve seat 126 by a second return spring 132. In combination with the third valve seat 126, the third closing body 128 forms a third valve device 134 in the form of a check valve.
[0047] The aforementioned discharge device 14 can be connected to the housing 12. In the exemplary embodiment of the invention, this is designed in the manner of a jet pipe and has a first discharge channel 136 and a second discharge channel 138. The first discharge channel 136 carries a first discharge nozzle 140 at its end facing away from the housing 12, and the second discharge channel 138 carries a second discharge nozzle 142 at its end facing away from the housing 12. The first discharge channel 136 can be plugged into the first outlet line 62, and the second discharge channel 138 can be plugged into the second outlet line 98.For this purpose, an end section 146 of the discharge device 14 facing the housing 12 can be inserted into a connection socket 148 of the pump 42, which projects from the front side 22 of the upper housing part 16, wherein the end section 146 can be releasably locked to the connection socket 148 by means of a locking element 150 arranged on the connection socket 148. This is shown in particular in FIG. Figure 3 clearly.
[0048] As already mentioned, a fluid supply line, such as a garden hose, can be connected to the connector 64 to supply cleaning fluid to the pressure washer 10. When the operator pulls the trigger 92, the cleaning fluid can flow into the access channel 76 and the bypass channel 100. The fluid flowing into the access channel 76 then enters the pumping device 46 via the inlet 52 and can be discharged from the pumping device 46 at increased pressure via the first outlet line 62.The cleaning fluid flowing into the bypass channel 100 can be discharged via the opening 102 and the adjoining second outlet line 98, bypassing the pump device 46, without increasing the pressure thereof. The discharge of cleaning fluid via the second outlet line 98 only occurs when the user has turned the second closing body 122 into its open position by means of the rotary knob 116, in which position the through-bore 120 is aligned with the passage channel 106 of the valve body 104. If, however, the closing body 122 assumes its closed position, the second closing body 122 blocks access to the passage channel 106, so that cleaning fluid can only be discharged via the first outlet line 62 and not via the second outlet line 98.
[0049] To provide the cleaning fluid, the connecting part 64 can be connected, for example, to a water supply network via a fluid supply line, so that the provided cleaning fluid is already under a certain pre-pressure, which can be, for example, 1 bar to 5 bar, in particular 1.5 bar to 3.5 bar. The pre-pressure of the provided cleaning fluid ensures that the valve ball 130 of the third valve device 134 lifts off the third valve seat 126 against the spring-elastic restoring force of the second return spring 132 and thus the cleaning fluid flowing into the bypass channel 100 can flow to the second outlet line 98, provided the second closing body 122 of the second valve device 124 assumes its open position.
[0050] However, for the pressure cleaning device 10 to function, it is not necessary for the provided cleaning fluid to already be under a certain pre-pressure. Rather, the pumping device 46 can also be operated in a suction mode, in which cleaning fluid can be sucked in via the connecting part 64 and the fluid supply line connected thereto from a supply of cleaning fluid, for example from a lake or a storage container in which the cleaning fluid is not under pressure. In a suction mode of the pumping device 46, a negative pressure prevails upstream of the inlet 52 and thus in particular also in the area between the third valve device 134 and the first flow path.In order to prevent ambient air from flowing via the second outlet line 98 and the second flow path to the first flow path and via this to the inlet 52 of the pump device 46, the third valve device 134 is used, which automatically interrupts the second flow path and thus the access of ambient air to the first flow path when a negative pressure prevails in the area between the third valve device 134 and the first flow path.
