Adapter for a wiping system.

[0001] The field of the present invention is that of wiping systems intended for motor vehicles. More particularly, the field of the present invention is that of adapters arranged between a windshield wiper arm and a wiper blade of such wiping systems.

[0002] Motor vehicles are commonly equipped with wiping systems intended to clean their glass surfaces, and in particular their windshields. Such wiping systems comprise at least one wiper arm and a wiper blade driven by the wiper arm. The wiper arm is connected to an electric motor of the vehicle and the wiper blade comprises at least one wiping blade adapted to come into contact with the glass surface to be wiped. In order to be able to drive the wiper blade, an adapter is arranged between this wiper blade and the wiper arm. More particularly, the adapter is arranged between the wiper arm and a connector connected to the wiper blade.The adapter is then secured to the wiper arm and more particularly to a free end of the wiper arm by means of a locking device, such cooperation being removable so that it allows the wiper blade to be changed when it is worn.

Adapter (14) for attaching a wiper blade (4) to an arm (2) of a wiping system (1), the adapter (14) extending along a longitudinal direction (L), the adapter (14) being configured to be rotatably mounted on a connector (10) of the wiper blade (4) about an axis of rotation (R) transverse to the longitudinal direction (L), the adapter (14) comprising a locking device (42) intended to longitudinally block the adapter (14) relative to the arm (2), the adapter (14) comprising a front portion (14a) and a rear portion (14b) delimited from one another by a plane (P) perpendicular to the longitudinal direction (L) and passing through the locking device (42), the locking device (42) comprising at least one transverse wall (60) which extends transversely to the longitudinal axis (L) and which is arranged in the rear portion (14b) of the adapter (14),the locking device (42) being pivotally mounted around a tilting axis (I) parallel to the longitudinal direction (L), the adapter (14) being characterized in that it comprises a protrusion (62) which extends between the transverse wall (60) of the locking device (42) and an element of the rear portion (14b) of the adapter (14)., Adapter (14) according to the preceding claim, comprising at least one side wall (18) and one upper wall (20) participating in defining an internal volume (28) of the adapter (14), the adapter (14) comprising at least one guide duct (64) intended to receive the arm (2) and which extends at least partly into the internal volume (28) of the adapter (14). Adapter (14) according to the preceding claim, wherein the guide duct (64) comprises a first longitudinal end (66) through which the arm (2) is intended to enter the guide duct (64) and a second longitudinal end (68) adjacent to the transverse wall (60) of the locking device (42), the protrusion (62) being formed between the transverse wall (60) of the locking device (42) and the second longitudinal end (68) of the guide duct (64). An adapter (14) according to any preceding claim, wherein the protrusion (62) is integral with the transverse wall (60) of the locking device (42). An adapter (14) according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the protrusion (62) is integral with the element of the rear portion (14b) of the adapter (14). Adapter (14) according to the preceding claim in combination with claim 3, wherein the protrusion (62) is made of a material with the second longitudinal end (68) of the guide duct (64) forming the element of the rear portion (14b) of the adapter (14). Adapter (14) according to any one of the preceding claims, in which the protrusion (62) comprises at least one contact face (70) which extends opposite at least in part the transverse wall (60) of the locking device (42) or the element of the rear portion (14b) of the adapter (14), a longitudinal distance between the contact face (70) and the transverse wall (60) or the element of the rear portion (14b) being between 0.1 mm and 1 mm. Adapter (14) according to any one of the preceding claims in combination with claim 2 or 3, wherein the guide duct (64) comprises at least one holding wall (72) of the arm (2) in a vertical direction (V) of the adapter (14), the protrusion (62) extending in the longitudinal extension of said holding wall (72). Adapter (14) according to the preceding claim, in which the protrusion (62) has a complementary shape with the retaining wall (72) of the guide duct (64), in the longitudinal direction (L) of the adapter. Adapter (14) according to any one of claims 8 or 9, wherein the retaining wall (72) of the guide duct (64) comprises a transverse flank (74), a transverse edge (76) of the protrusion (62) extending in a common plane with the transverse flank (74). Connection device (8) for a wiper blade (4) comprising at least one connector (10) and an adapter (14) according to any one of the preceding claims, the connector (10) being mounted for rotation about the axis of rotation (R) by means of a rotation device (16). Wiper blade (4) comprising at least one connection device (8) according to the preceding claim or an adapter (14) according to any one of claims 1 to 10. Wiping system (1) comprising at least one arm (2) and a wiper blade (4) according to the preceding claim, the arm (2) comprising at least one rod (6) housed in the guide duct of the adapter (14).
