Abstract

A rotor (8) of an electric machine (7), located at the rear end of a turbine shaft (1) and driven in rotation by it, is connected to the turbine shaft by a relatively flexible connecting shaft (5) and a bearing (12). The rotor (8) is, however, supported by the exhaust casing (6) of the turbomachine by sliding bearings (21, 22). Deformations of the shaft (1) in the axial direction (XX) are transmitted to the rotor (8) by the bearing (12), and it moves relative to its support (20). Radial coaxiality defects are absorbed by the flexibility of the connecting shaft (5). The device is lightweight and compact. See Figure 2 for abbreviations.
