Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: OXIDATION COLORING COMPOSITION COMPRISING A SURFACTANT ANIONIC, AN AMPHOTORE SURFACTANT SELECTED FROM A BETAINE AND A METALLIC CATALYST Scope of the invention
[0001] The present invention relates to a keratin fiber coloring composition; more particularly, it relates to a composition comprising oxidation dye precursors, anionic surfactants, amphoteric surfactants selected from a betaine, and metal catalysts. The present invention also relates to a method for coloring keratin fibers, and in particular human keratin fibers, using the composition and a multi-compartment device containing the composition. Background of the invention
[0002] It is common practice to color keratin fibers, and in particular human hair, with dye compositions containing oxidation dye precursors, which are generally known as "oxidation bases", in particular, ortho- or para-phenylenediamines, ortho- or para-aminophenols and heterocyclic bases.
[0003] Oxidative dye precursors are compounds that are initially colorless or weakly colored, which develop their coloring power on hair in the presence of oxidizing agents, leading to the formation of colored compounds. The formation of these colored compounds results either from an oxidative condensation of the "oxidation bases" with themselves, or from an oxidative condensation of the "oxidation bases" with color-modifying compounds, or "couplers," which are generally present in dye compositions used in oxidative coloring and are represented more particularly by meta-phenylenediamines, meta-aminophenols, meta-diphenols, and certain heterocyclic compounds.
[0004] The diversity of molecules used, consisting on the one hand of "oxidation bases" and on the other hand of "couplers", allows for the obtaining of a very rich color palette.
[0005] The permanent coloring process thus consists of applying bases or a mixture of bases and couplers with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2 or aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution) as an oxidizing agent to the keratin fibers, allowing them to diffuse, and then rinsing the fibers. The colorings that The resulting properties have the advantage of being permanent, strong and resistant to external agents, in particular to light, weathering, washing operations, perspiration and friction.
[0006] However, research continues on how to increase the efficiency of the reaction of the oxidation dyes used during this process in order to improve their accumulation on keratin fibers. Indeed, such an improvement would make it possible, in particular, to reduce the content of oxidation dyes present in coloring compositions, to reduce the processing time on keratin fibers and / or to use other families of dyes that have a low coloring capacity but are capable of exhibiting a good toxicological profile, to provide new shades or to produce colorings that are resistant to external agents such as light or shampoos.
[0007] In this regard, the use of compositions containing metal catalysts as a pretreatment in a coloring process has already been proposed in order to accelerate the dye oxidation reaction and improve the intensity of the coloring on keratin fibers. However, the coloring power obtained is still not entirely satisfactory.
[0008] There is therefore a real need to provide a keratin fiber coloring composition that does not have the drawbacks of existing compositions, namely one that is capable of producing satisfactory color from oxidation dyes on keratin fibers in a short period of time and in an easy manner. [0257] The following examples serve to illustrate the invention without, however, being limiting in nature. EXAMPLES
[0258] The following compositions Al, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, Cl and C2 are prepared, as shown in Table 1:

[0260] The following oxidation composition B is prepared as shown in Table 2:
[0261] [Tables2] % by weight of active ingredients Ingredients Oxidizing composition B Hydrogen peroxide 7.5 Polyquaterium-6 0.2 Beheneth-10 0.06 Cetearyl alcohol 3.1 Ceteareth-33 1.2 Mineral oil 0.56 Tetrasodium etidronate 0.06 Tetrasodium pyrophosphate 0.04 Preservative qs Phosphoric acid qs pH = 2 Water Up to 100
[0262] Each of the compositions A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, Cl, and C is mixed with composition B in a 1:1 ratio to obtain an oxidation dye composition mixture. Strands of 90% natural gray (NG) hair are treated with the oxidation dye composition mixtures and left to process for 5 minutes at 27°C. After this processing time, the strands are rinsed with water and then dried using a hairdryer.
[0263] The color obtained is measured using a Minolta CM-2500d spectrophotometer (illuminant D65, angle 10°, SCI values) for the colorimetric measurements L*, a*, b*. In this L*, a*, b* system, L* represents the color intensity, a* indicates the green / red chromatic axis and b* indicates the blue / yellow chromatic axis.
[0264] The variation in colour between the strands of natural grey hair coloured after treatment with the composition without amphoteric surfactant and metallic catalyst (control) and after colouring with the other compositions is defined by AE*, corresponding to the difference in colour obtained, according to the following equation: ÛE* = L — -F ( a? — p + (K — bc /
[0265] In this equation, L*, a* and b* represent the values measured after coloring natural hair comprising 90% gray hair with the compositions according to the invention, or Cl and Lo*, a0* and b0* represent the values measured after coloring natural hair including 90% grey hair with composition C (control).
[0266] The higher the value of AE*, the greater the difference in colour between the control strands and the coloured strands.
[0267] The results in terms of accumulation are gathered in the following table.
[0268] [Tables3] L* ab AE C + B 23.9 1.82 -6.21 0 Cl+B 22.25 1.69 -5.95 1.68 Al + B 20.51 1.52 -3.2 4.54 A2 + B 21.19 1.09 -3.02 4.25 A3 + B 21.15 1.05 -2.75 4.49 A4 + B 21.04 0.8 -1.58 5.54 A5 + B 20.9 1.02 -1.89 5.32 A6 + B 21.1 1.32 -1.68 5.35
[0269] As can be seen in the table, the AE value obtained for the hair strand treated with the dye composition according to the present invention is higher than the AE value obtained for the hair strands treated with the dye composition Cl+B.
[0270] This shows that compositions according to the invention give a more different colour than composition Cl compared to the control composition C, in a short time.
[0271] In addition, the color is more intense (significantly lower L* value) with compositions according to the invention compared to the control composition C.
[0272] These data demonstrate that the combination of amphoteric surfactant betaine and metallic catalysts increases the intensity of a hair coloring composition.
