Description

Title of the invention: Container for cosmetic product comprising a glass jar and a two-part lid screwed onto a neck of the latter Technical field of the invention

[0001] The present invention relates to containers for cosmetic products and in particular to glass jars equipped with a lid or a stopper. Prior art

[0002] It is common to equip glass jars containing cosmetic creams in particular, for example cylindrical jars with a round or square section, with a snap-on or screw-on cap generally made from a single piece of plastic material and intended to protect the contents of the container.

[0003] However, the pot / cap relationship often poses problems either at the level of the connection itself, or at the level of the aesthetic aspect of the container, or in its ergonomics of use or even at the level of the ease of recycling of the different elements constituting it.

[0004] The cap is generally simply mounted around the pot, which does not have a shoulder at the level of its neck, and is often unsightly (unsightly rim) and impractical (the cap must be permanently screwed back onto the pot, it is complicated to provide a mirror on the internal wall of the cap, and it would be complicated to handle), with an excess consumption of material that is not compatible with current requirements. Presentation of the invention

[0005] The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks with a completely innovative approach, simple to manufacture, inexpensive, practical to use, and entirely recyclable.

[0006] To this end, according to a first aspect, the present invention relates to a refillable container for a cosmetic product comprising at least: - a glass jar having a base, a cylindrical side wall extending perpendicularly from said base and having an external surface, and a neck provided with a first external thread and an upper edge, and - a closure cover comprising a ring having an external surface and comprising a second internal thread cooperating with the first external thread of the glass jar, characterized in that it further comprises a hinged hinged cover on the ring around a hinge between a first raised open position allowing to have access to the interior of the pot and a second closed, folded position in which said folding cover is held in position on the ring using mechanical means.

[0007] This solution makes it possible to design an elegant, ergonomic, easy-to-use, recyclable container that optimally protects the cosmetic product it contains.

[0008] The invention is implemented according to the embodiments and variants set out below, which are to be considered individually or in any technically effective combination.

[0009] Advantageously, the first external thread is provided in an area of the neck having a diameter smaller than the diameter of the cylindrical side wall, so that the external surface of the ring is located in the exact extension of the external surface of the cylindrical side wall.

[0010] This solution gives the container a sober appearance and finish, while maintaining its ease of use.

[0011] According to an additional characteristic, the cover extends over a height of between approximately half and a quarter of the total height of the pot.

[0012] This solution gives the pot harmonious proportions mixing glass and plastic material.

[0013] According to an alternative embodiment, the wall of the ring has an external diameter greater than or equal to the diameter of the cylindrical side wall of the pot so that the ring surrounds the entire cylindrical side wall of said pot and extends axially over the entire height of the latter.

[0014] This solution provides optimal protection not only for the glass jar in the event of the container being dropped, but also for the cosmetic product, which is thus protected from light and in particular from ultraviolet radiation.

[0015] Preferably, the hinge is devoid of a portion protruding radially from the ring and axially from an upper surface of the folding cover.

[0016] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the folding hood has a radially protruding handling tab equipped with mechanical closing means.

[0017] In a complementary manner, the mechanical closing means comprise a radial lug provided with a ball cooperating with a housing of complementary shape to said ball.

[0018] According to an alternative design, the folding hood has a tassel-type gripping member protruding from an upper face of the latter.

[0019] According to a particular embodiment of the present invention, the container is provided with a mirror inserted between an internal wall of the folding cover and a mirror clamp frame mechanically removably attached to said cover.

[0020] According to a particularly interesting aspect of the present invention, the container is provided with a cover sealed tightly to the upper edge of the neck of the pot.

[0021] According to an advantageous characteristic of the present invention, the container is provided with a sieve resting removably on an internal prominent rim provided at the neck of the pot and arranged axially set back from the upper edge.

[0022] According to an alternative design mode, the container is provided with a screen welded onto an internal prominent rim provided at the neck of the pot and arranged axially set back from the upper edge.

[0023] According to a particular embodiment, the container is provided with an internal cup, for example made of aluminum, zamac or plastic, arranged inside the pot and containing the cosmetic product.

[0024] According to an additional characteristic, the bucket rests removably on an internal prominent rim provided at the neck of the pot and arranged axially set back from the upper edge. Brief description of the figures

[0025] Other advantages, aims and characteristics of the present invention emerge from the following description given, for explanatory and in no way limiting purposes, with reference to the appended drawings, in which:

[0036] Figures 1 to 6 show a container 1 for a cosmetic product, for example in the form of a cream or powder, in accordance with the present invention.

[0037] This container 1 firstly comprises a refillable element consisting of a glass pot 10 having a base 11, a cylindrical side wall 12 erected perpendicularly from said base 11 and having an external surface 12a, and a neck 13 provided with a first external thread 14 and an upper edge 15 forming a ring.

[0038] This 10 pot can be closed by a thin protective cover (not shown) heat-sealed in a watertight manner on the upper edge 15 of the neck 13 to act as a tamper-evident indicator and to prevent the contents of the pot 10 from escaping.

[0039] The container 1 is also provided with an optional sieve 50 resting removably on an annular internal rim 17 provided at the neck 13 of the pot 10 and arranged axially set back from the upper edge 15. Thus, the sieve 50 is placed inside the pot 10, under the protective cover.

[0040] The first internal thread 14 of the pot 10 is formed in a zone 13a of the neck 13 having a diameter D2 smaller than the diameter DI of the external surface 12a of the cylindrical side wall 12 of the pot 10. Thus, this zone 13a of the neck 13 is narrower in diameter than the rest of the pot 10 and thus forms a recessed rim (radial shoulder).

[0041] The container 1 further comprises a closure cover 20 comprising a ring 21 having an external surface 21a and comprising a wall 27 provided with a second internal thread 24 cooperating with the first external thread 14 of the glass jar 10 at its neck 13.

[0042] In the closed position, the lower annular part of the ring 21 rests on an annular cylindrical edge 16 substantially parallel to the upper edge 15 and connecting the neck 13 to the wall 12 of the pot 10. The ring 21 thus extends over a height h of between approximately half and a quarter of the total height H of the pot 10.

[0043] Furthermore, in accordance with [Fig. 3], due to the difference in diameters DI and D2, the thickness of material constituting wall 27 of the ring 21, and the first and second threads 24 and 14, the external surface 21a of the ring 21 is located in the exact extension of the external surface 12a of the cylindrical side wall 12 of the pot 10, which gives the container 1 a very refined appearance very different from the pots of the prior art in the shape of a “mushroom”, in a reduced size and with few constituent elements (all recyclable).

[0044] The container 1, and more precisely the closure cover 20, further comprises a hinged cover 23 articulated on the ring 21 around a hinge 22 between a first raised open position allowing access to the interior of the pot 10 ([Fig.2]) and a second folded closed position ([Fig.3]) in which said hinged cover 23 is held in position on the ring 21 using mechanical means 26. The hinge 22 is designed in such a way that no constituent part protrudes radially from the ring 21 and axially from the folding cover 23, which gives a very sober and elegant appearance to the container 1.

[0045] The folding hood 23 has, for example, a small radially protruding handling tab equipped with mechanical closing means 26 consisting, for example, of a radial lug provided with a projecting ball 26a cooperating with a housing 26b of a shape complementary to said ball 26a (half-sphere).

[0046] The cover 23 also receives a mirror 30 held by a mirror clamp frame 32, for example glued or snapped on.

[0047] According to another embodiment illustrated by [Fig.7], the sieve 50 is directly welded inside the ring 21 and a removable internal cup 60 is provided to rest on the internal protruding rim 17 of the glass jar 10. This solution makes it possible to reduce the number of parts while improving the functionality of the container 1 since it is possible to change the cup 60 either to replace it with a completely different product (sold for example separately in the form of a refill), or to replace the same product from a new cup (also in the form of a refill) when the initial cup is empty. In both cases, this makes it possible to keep almost the entire container 1 without having to buy a completely new one, which considerably reduces the waste to be recycled.

[0048] As for the solution of figures 1 to 6, the annular lower part of the ring 21 rests on the cylindrical rim 16 of the pot and its external surface 21a is located in the exact extension of the external surface 12a of the cylindrical side wall 12 of the pot 10 once the cover 20 is screwed on, which gives the container 1 a very sober appearance in a reduced size and with few constituent elements (all recyclable).

[0049] According to another variant embodiment illustrated by [Fig.8], the ring of the lid 21 is screwed at its upper part onto the thread 14 and surrounds the entire cylindrical side wall 12 of the glass jar 10 so that the lid 20 extends axially over the entire height H of the latter, or even beyond as shown. The external diameter D3 of the ring 21, and more generally of the lid 20, is in fact slightly greater than the external diameter DI of the external surface 12a of the cylindrical side wall 12 of the jar 10, and the threads 14 and 24 are adapted so that the lid is screwed around the jar 10, despite the presence of a recessed neck 13 provided at the top of the latter. Thus, the glass jar 10 is completely protected from shocks (falling) and the cosmetic product it contains is also protected from harmful UV rays.In this embodiment, the sieve 50 is for example placed on the internal annular rim 17 of the neck of the pot 10, as for figures 1 to 6.

[0050] [Fig.9] shows another variant embodiment in which the cover 23 (as well as the hinge 22) is flush with the ring 21, that is to say that it does not does not protrude vertically from the latter, unlike the other embodiments. This makes it possible to refine the cover 20 and reduce the quantity of plastic material used, and gives a different appearance to the container 1 (more compact in height). It will be noted that this cover 23 is provided with a gripping tassel 29 which allows it to be lifted around the hinge 22, and with a flat annular seal 33 placed between the cover 23 and the ring 21. More precisely, the ring 21 has for this purpose a recessed zone 23b of the cylindrical groove type intended to receive the seal 33 and said cover 23 when the latter is closed. In this embodiment, the sieve 50 is either welded inside the ring 21, which also reduces the number of parts used, thus facilitating their recycling, or it rests inside an internal cylindrical rim (not shown) of the latter, in the manner of the internal annular rim 17 of the pot 10 of the previous figures. As for the solution of figures 1 to 6, the ring 21 rests on the cylindrical rim 16 of the pot 10 and its external surface 21a is located in the exact extension of the external surface 12a of the cylindrical side wall 12 of said pot 10, which gives the container 1 a very sober appearance in a reduced size and with few constituent elements (all recyclable).

[0051] [Fig. 10] shows a final embodiment in which the glass jar 10 has a cylindrical main body with a square section, as does the ring 21 of the lid 20, while the external 14 and internal 24 threads respectively remain of course circular in order to be able to screw the lid 20 onto the neck 13 of the pot 10. Here again, the external surface 21a of the ring 21 is located in the exact extension of the external surface 12a of the cylindrical side wall 12 of the pot 10, which gives the container 1 a very sober appearance in a reduced size and with few constituent elements (all recyclable). This variant demonstrates that it is possible to provide multiple shapes for the container 1 (in particular for the port 10), while retaining the solution of the present invention. Of course, the threads 14 and 24 are designed so that the edges / external surface 12a of the lid 20 and the edges / external surface 21a of the pot 10 are exactly aligned. The cover 23 is also of square section to also remain in alignment with the ring 21.

[0052] It should be clearly understood that the detailed description of the subject of the Invention, given solely by way of illustration, does not constitute in any way a limitation, the technical equivalents also being included in the scope of the present invention.

[0053] Thus, the glass pot 10 can have any type of shape as long as it has an annular neck provided with an external thread onto which the lid 20 is screwed. For example, one can imagine a much more elongated or more compact cylindrical pot, with a hexagonal section, or even a pot in the shape of an inverted dome.
