Description

Title of the invention: fluid conduit system for a motor vehicle washing unit.

[0001] The technical context of the present invention is that of washing assemblies for motor vehicles. More particularly, the invention relates to a male conductor of a fluid conduit system, as well as to such a fluid conduit system and an assembly method.

[0002] In the state of the art, washing assemblies are known which are mounted on motor vehicles and which make it possible to clean glass walls of the motor vehicle. This may in particular be a windshield or a rear window of the motor vehicle, a closing window of a lighting and / or signaling device, or even an optical surface of a sensor mounted on said motor vehicle, such as for example a laser remote sensing system.

[0003] Such washing assemblies are known comprising a reservoir for a cleaning liquid, fluid conduits for transporting the cleaning liquid to nozzles for spraying said cleaning liquid onto the glass walls to be cleaned. In order to enable such spraying, the known washing assemblies comprise a pump for setting the fluid in motion in the fluid conduits. Of course, given the number of glass walls to be cleaned on a motor vehicle, the known cleaning assemblies comprise a network of fluid conduits which extends through the motor vehicle, the network comprising male conductors which can be coupled with female conductors.

[0004] Such known male conductors thus comprise a cylindrical bearing surface, one axial end of which is engaged and fitted into a complementary cylindrical bearing surface of the female conductor. It is thus possible to produce an extension of the fluid conduit, from the female conductor to the male conductor, or vice versa, and thus construct the network of fluid conduits according to an expected geometry and / or dimensions.

[0005] A known disadvantage of known male conductors is the lack of visibility when mating them.

[0006] Another known disadvantage lies in the lack of markers allowing the quality of the coupling to be checked. Indeed, if the male conductor is not sufficiently engaged in the female conductor, then there is a risk of tearing and decoupling of the female conductor from the male conductor. Conversely, if the male conductor is too engaged in the female conductor, then there is a risk of tearing and damaging the female conductor.

[0007] The object of the present invention is to propose a new male conductor in order to respond at least in large part to the preceding problems and to further lead to other advantages.

[0008] Another object of the invention is to facilitate the coupling of a male conductor with a female conductor.

[0009] Another object of the invention is to avoid uncontrolled tearing of the female conductor fitted onto the male conductor.

[0010] Another object of the invention is to avoid damage to the female conductor when it is coupled with the male conductor.

[0011] According to a first aspect of the invention, at least one of the aforementioned objectives is achieved with a male conductor of a fluid conduit system comprising the male conductor and a female conductor with which the male conductor is intended to be coupled, the male conductor comprising:

[0012] - a hollow cylindrical bearing extending along a proper elongation axis;

[0013] - a stopper configured to provide an axial stop of the female conductor;

[0014] - a groove located between an axial end of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface and the stopper marking minimal fitting.

[0015] In the context of the present invention, the hollow cylindrical bearing surface is configured to allow the circulation of the fluid inside said hollow cylindrical bearing surface. The hollow cylindrical bearing surface is configured to be able to collaborate with the female conductor by engagement of complementary shapes. In particular, a shape and dimensions of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface are complementary to a shape and dimensions of the female conductor with which the male conductor is intended to collaborate, so as to allow a fitting, preferably by force, of said female conductor onto said male conductor.

[0016] In the context of the present invention, the stopper forms an end of engagement stop for the female conductor on the male conductor. In other words, the stopper forms a maximum axial limit to the fitting of the female conductor on the male conductor. The stopper thus makes it possible to determine a maximum axial position of the female conductor coupled to the male conductor and for which the coupling is compliant and operational, that is to say for which the fluid circulation through the male conductor and the female conductor is achieved without loss.

[0017] In the context of the present invention, the groove forms a minimum engagement mark for the female conductor on the male conductor. In other words, the groove forms a minimum axial limit to the fitting of the female conductor on the male conductor. The groove thus makes it possible to determine a minimum axial position of the female conductor coupled to the male conductor and for which the coupling is compliant and operational, that is to say for which the fluid circulation through the male conductor and the female conductor is achieved without loss.

[0018] In the context of the present invention, the fluid conduit is configured to allow the transport of a fluid, liquid or gaseous - through the male conductor and the female conductor. When the fluid is of the liquid type, then it is preferably of the type of a cleaning liquid such as used in a cleaning system for a motor vehicle. Such a cleaning liquid notably comprises water and alcohol. When the fluid is of the gaseous type, then it preferably contains air such as blown into a cleaning system for a motor vehicle.

[0019] In the context of the present invention, the proper elongation axis is the cylindrical axis of revolution of the hollow cylindrical conductor. It corresponds to the direction of elongation of the cylindrical conductor.

[0020] Thus, the male conductor according to the first aspect of the invention makes it easier to couple it with a female conductor. Indeed, the stop and the groove form two marks respectively of maximum engagement and minimum engagement of the male conductor in the female conductor. Therefore, the male conductor makes it possible to avoid uncontrolled tearing of the female conductor fitted onto the male conductor which would result from insufficient fitting and lower than the axial position of the groove on the male conductor; and the male conductor also makes it possible to avoid damage to the female conductor during its coupling with the male conductor, resulting from excessive fitting of the female conductor beyond the stop of the male conductor.

[0021] The male conductor according to the first aspect of the invention advantageously comprises at least one of the improvements below, the technical characteristics forming these improvements being able to be taken alone or in combination:

[0022] - the male conductor has an entry chamfer formed on the axial end of the hollow cylindrical bearing. This advantageous configuration thus makes it easier to insert the male conductor into the female conductor with which it is intended to be coupled;

[0023] - the chamfer is formed on an outer wall of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface, the chamfer forming a clearance angle with said outer wall. In other words, the outer wall of the cylindrical bearing surface has a beveled face oriented according to the clearance angle, at the axial end of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface forming the male conductor;

[0024] - advantageously, the clearance angle is between 20° and 60°. Preferably- Rationally, the clearance angle is equal to 45°;

[0025] - at its axial end, the hollow cylindrical bearing surface has a rim which extends radially projecting relative to the hollow cylindrical bearing surface, so as to have a diameter greater than that of said hollow cylindrical bearing surface. The rim thus forms a protrusion which extends radially outside the hollow cylindrical bearing surface, relative to the proper elongation axis. This advantageous configuration makes it possible to prevent the female conductor with which the male conductor is intended to collaborate from uncoupling involuntarily. In other words, the rim of the male conductor forms an anti-tearing member for the female conductor;

[0026] - the stopper forms an axial shoulder for the female conductor with which the male conductor is intended to be coupled. By axial shoulder, it is understood that the stop allows the female conductor to be placed in abutment, relative to the proper elongation axis of the male conductor, against said stop;

[0027] - more particularly, the stopper comprises a circumferential rib which extends along a peripheral contour of the cylindrical bearing surface of the male conductor. The circumferential rib extends radially outward from the hollow cylindrical bearing surface, and relative to the proper elongation axis of the male conductor. According to a first embodiment, the stop extends along a closed circular profile all around the cylindrical bearing surface. According to a second embodiment, the stop comprises one or more radial segments distributed along a circular profile of the cylindrical bearing surface, each radial angular segment being distant from another adjacent angular segment;

[0028] - according to a first variant embodiment, the groove is of the type of a circular groove conferential which extends around the proper elongation axis of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface. More particularly, the groove is formed on the outer wall of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface. The groove thus forms a cavity from the outer wall of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface which extends around a peripheral contour of said hollow cylindrical bearing surface and in the direction of the proper elongation axis;

[0029] - according to a first embodiment of the first variant, the circumferential groove ential extends along an angular segment on the outer wall of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface. Alternatively, according to a second embodiment of the first variant, the circumferential groove extends along a closed circular contour. This advantageous configuration makes it possible to make the groove visible from any viewing angle of the male conductor in accordance with the first aspect of the invention;

[0030] - along a radial direction of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface, perpendicular to the proper elongation axis, the groove has a depth between 0.1 mm and 3 mm;

[0031] - according to a second variant embodiment, the groove is of the type of a flat formed on the outer wall of the hollow cylindrical span;

[0032] - in any of the embodiments, at least a portion of the groove is of a different color from the outer walls of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface. This advantageous configuration makes it easier to locate the groove when assembling the female conductor onto the male conductor;

[0033] - along the proper elongation axis, a retracted position of the groove taken by relative to the stop is between 0 mm and 20 mm, preferably between 5 mm and 15 mm, preferably still between 8 mm and 12 mm in order to allow an effective and stable fitting of the female conductor. The withdrawal position thus forms the distance between the groove and the stop, taken along the proper elongation axis. In particular, in the case where the fluid intended to circulate in the male conductor is of the gas type, then the withdrawal position is between 0 mm and 20 mm, preferably between 5 mm and 15 mm, preferably still between 8 mm and 12 mm in order to allow an effective and stable fitting of the female conductor. On the other hand, in the case where the fluid intended to circulate in the male conductor is of the liquid type, then the withdrawal position is between 0 mm and 5 mm, preferably between 2 and 5 mm, preferably still between 2 and 4 mm;

[0034] - along the proper elongation axis, a recoil position of the groove taken by relative to the axial end of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface is between 4 mm and 20 mm, preferably between 5 mm and 15 mm, preferably still between 8 mm and 12 mm in order to allow an effective and stable fitting of the female conductor. The recoil position thus forms the distance between the groove and the axial end, taken along the proper elongation axis. In particular, in the case where the fluid intended to circulate in the male conductor is of the gas type, then the recoil position is between 6 mm and 20 mm, preferably between 7 mm and 15 mm, preferably still between 8 mm and 12 mm in order to allow an effective and stable fitting of the female conductor.On the other hand, in the case where the fluid intended to circulate in the male conductor is of the liquid type, then the setback position is between 4 mm and 20 mm, preferably between 5 mm and 15 mm, preferably still between 8 mm and 12 mm in order to allow effective and stable fitting of the female conductor; .

[0035] - an external diameter of the male conductor, taken at the level of its external wall, is between 2.5 mm and 25 mm;

[0036] - the male conductor is formed from a material comprising plastic or metal. The plastic is preferably of the polyamide or polypropylene type. rubber is preferably of the elastomer type.

[0037] According to a second aspect of the invention, there is provided a system of fluid conduits comprising a male conductor according to the first aspect of the invention or according to any of its improvements, and a female conductor fitted onto the male conductor, an axial termination of the female conductor being located between the groove and the stop of the male conductor.

[0038] The fluid conduit system according to the second aspect of the invention advantageously comprises at least one of the improvements below, the technical characteristics forming these improvements being able to be taken alone or in combination:

[0039] - an inner diameter of the female conductor is between 2.5 mm and 25 mm;

[0040] - an inner diameter of the female conductor is equal to or substantially greater than the outer diameter of the male conductor. By significantly greater, we understand that the inner diameter of the female conductor is equal to the outer diameter of the male conductor increased by a few tenths of a millimeter. This advantageous configuration makes it possible to arrange a force fit of the male conductor into the female conductor, so as to establish a more stable and more robust connection, while allowing fluid circulation between the male conductor and the female conductor without loss, that is to say without leakage. Alternatively, the inner diameter of the female conductor is less than the outer diameter of the male conductor in order to obtain a better seal resulting from compression of the male conductor by the female conductor;

[0041] - the female conductor is formed from a material comprising plastic or ca The plastic is preferably of the polyamide or polypropylene type. The rubber is preferably of the elastomer type;

[0042] - the fluid conduit system comprises an O-ring housed in the groove of the male conductor. This advantageous configuration makes it easier to identify the groove when assembling the female conductor onto the male conductor. In particular, a color of the O-ring is chosen to be different from that of the male conductor and / or the female conductor in order to facilitate the visualization of the O-ring on the male conductor and to facilitate the correct installation of the female conductor;

[0043] - an outside diameter of the O-ring, when housed in the groove of the conductor male, is less than the diameter of the outer wall of the hollow cylindrical bearing. This advantageous configuration prevents the O-ring from preventing the female conductor from being engaged on the male conductor;

[0044] - the fluid conduit system comprises a clamping collar restricting the female conductor on the male conductor. Advantageously, the clamp is located between the axial end of the male conductor and the stop. Preferably, The clamp is located between the axial end and the groove of the male conductor. Alternatively, the clamp is located between the groove and the stop of the male conductor.

[0045] According to a third aspect of the invention, there is provided a method of assembling a fluid conduit system in accordance with the second aspect of the invention or according to any of its improvements, the assembly method comprising the following steps:

[0046] - a step of introducing the male conductor, at its axial end, in the female conductor, taken at its axial termination;

[0047] - a step of fitting the male conductor into the female conductor, along of the proper extension axis, until the axial end of the female conductor is located between the groove and the stop of the male conductor.

[0048] The assembly method advantageously comprises a step of clamping the fluid conduit system using a clamp engaged on the female conductor and placed between the axial end and the stop of the male conductor.

[0049] During the clamping step, the clamping collar is advantageously placed between the axial end of the male conductor and the stop. Preferably, the clamping collar is placed between the axial end and the groove of the male conductor. Alternatively, the clamping collar is placed between the groove and the stop of the male conductor.

[0050] Various embodiments of the invention are provided, integrating according to all of their possible combinations the different optional characteristics set out here.

[0051] Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description on the one hand, and from several exemplary embodiments given for informational and non-limiting purposes with reference to the appended schematic drawings on the other hand, in which:

[0056] [Fig.5] illustrates a block diagram of an assembly method according to the second aspect of the invention.

[0057] Of course, the features, variants and different embodiments of the invention may be combined with each other, in various combinations, provided that they are not incompatible or mutually exclusive. In particular, variants of the invention may be imagined comprising only a selection of features described below in isolation from the other features described, if this selection of features is sufficient to confer a technical advantage or to differentiate the invention from the prior art.

[0058] In particular, all the variants and all the embodiments described can be combined with each other if nothing prevents this combination from a technical point of view.

[0059] In the figures, the elements common to several figures retain the same reference.

[0060] With reference to FIGURES 1 to 4, the invention addresses a male conductor 11 of a fluid conduit system 1 comprising the male conductor 11 and a female conductor 2 with which the male conductor 11 is intended to be coupled.

[0061] The male conductor 11 comprises:

[0062] - a hollow cylindrical bearing surface 110 extending along a proper elongation axis 01, the cylindrical surface being delimited, radially with respect to the proper elongation axis 01, by an outer wall 111 and an inner wall 112. The inner wall 112 thus defines a conduit for the circulation of a fluid in the male conductor 11;

[0063] - a stop 13 configured to provide an axial stop of the female conductor 2, when the female conductor 2 is fitted onto the male conductor 11;

[0064] - a groove 14 located between an axial end 12 of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface 110 and the stop 13 marking a minimal fitting.

[0065] Thus, the stopper 13 and the groove 14 each form a mark on the male conductor 11 in order to allow optimal coupling of the female conductor 2 to the male conductor 11, as shown in [Fig. 2]. More particularly, the stopper 13 and the groove 14 each form a mark on the male conductor 11 in order to avoid respectively pushing the female conductor 2 too far onto the male conductor 11, as shown in [Fig. 3], or not pushing the female conductor 2 far enough onto the male conductor 11, as shown in [Fig. 4].

[0066] As visible in FIGURES 1 to 4, the stop 13 forms an end of engagement stop for the female conductor 2 on the male conductor 11, relative to the proper elongation axis 01. The stop 13 thus makes it possible to establish a maximum axial limit to the fitting of the female conductor 2 on the male conductor 11, relative to the proper elongation axis 01. The stop 13 thus makes it possible to determine a maximum axial position of the female conductor 2 coupled to the male conductor 11 and for which the coupling is compliant and operational, that is to say for which the fluid circulation through the male conductor 11 and the female conductor 2 is carried out without loss, as visible in [Fig.2].

[0067] The stop stop 13 forms an axial shoulder 133 for the female conductor 2 with which the male conductor 11 is intended to be coupled. For this purpose, in the embodiment illustrated in FIGURES 1 to 4, the stop stop 13 comprises a circumferential rib 132 which extends along a peripheral contour of the cylindrical bearing surface of the male conductor 11. The circumferential rib 132 forming the stop stop 13 is delimited, relative to the proper elongation axis 01, by a rear face 131 and by an axial shoulder 133 located on a proximal side of the rib 132. The rib 132 extends radially outwards from the hollow cylindrical bearing surface 110, and relative to the proper elongation axis 01 of the male conductor 11.

[0068] Advantageously, a height of the rib 132, taken perpendicular to the proper elongation axis 01 and from the outer wall 111, is greater than or equal to a thickness of the female conductor 2 taken between an outer face 22 and an inner face 21 of said female conductor 2, in order to allow an axial stop of the female conductor 2 abutting on the stop 13. Alternatively, the height of the rib 132, taken perpendicular to the proper elongation axis 01 and from the outer wall 111, is less than the thickness of the female conductor 2 taken between an outer face 22 and an inner face 21 of said female conductor 2.

[0069] The groove 14 extends circumferentially around the proper elongation axis 01 of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface 110, from the outer wall 111 of the male conductor 11. More particularly, the groove 14 is formed on the outer wall 111 of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface 110, thus forming a cavity from the outer wall 111 of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface 110 which extends around a peripheral contour of said hollow cylindrical bearing surface 110 and towards the inner wall 112.

[0070] The groove 14 is thus delimited by a bottom wall 142 which extends substantially parallel to the inner wall 112 of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface 110, the bottom wall 142 being delimited, relative to the proper elongation axis 01, by a rear wall 141 located on the side of the stop 13 and a front wall 143 located on the side of the axial end 12 of the cylindrical bearing surface. In the embodiment illustrated in FIGURES 1 to 4, the groove 14 has a U-shape in a transverse plane as shown in said FIGURES. Alternatively, the groove 14 may take a V-shaped profile.

[0071] Advantageously, the groove 14 extends circumferentially around the outer wall of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface 110 along a closed circular contour.

[0072] As mentioned previously, the relative positions:

[0073] - of the groove 14 relative to the axial end 12 of the male conductor 11,

[0074] - of the groove 14 relative to the stop 13,

[0075] - of the stop 13 relative to the axial end 12 of the male conductor 11,

[0076] Are not trivial and are of crucial importance for the proper maintenance of the female conductor 2 on male conductor 11.

[0077] Thus, along the proper elongation axis 01, a withdrawal position XI of the groove 14 taken relative to the stop 13 is between 0 mm and 20 mm. In particular, in the case where the fluid intended to circulate in the male conductor 11 is of the gas type, then the withdrawal position XI is between 0 mm and 20 mm. On the other hand, in the case where the fluid intended to circulate in the male conductor 11 is of the liquid type, then the withdrawal position XI is between 0 mm and 5 mm.

[0078] Similarly, along the proper elongation axis 01, a recoil position X2 of the groove 14 taken relative to the axial end 12 of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface is between 4 mm and 20 mm. In particular, in the case where the fluid intended to circulate in the male conductor 11 is of the gas type, then the recoil position X2 is between 6 mm and 20 mm. On the other hand, in the case where the fluid intended to circulate in the male conductor 11 is of the liquid type, then the recoil position X2 is between 4 mm and 20 mm.

[0079] Finally, in order to facilitate the engagement of the female conductor 2 on the male conductor 11, the male conductor 11 comprises an entry chamfer 15 formed on the axial end 12 of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface 110. The chamfer 15 is formed on the outer wall 111 of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface 110, the chamfer 15 forming a clearance angle with said outer wall 111. The chamfer 15 thus comprises a conical surface 153 at the axial end 12 which faces the axial termination 23 of the female conductor 2 when the latter is brought closer to the male conductor 11 to be coupled thereto.

[0080] This particular shape of the chamfer 15 leads to having a rim 152 which extends circumferentially around the proper elongation axis 01. The rim 152 extends at a distance from the outer wall 111 of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface 110, thus forming a retaining face 151 which extends radially relative to the proper elongation axis 01. The retaining face 151 thus forms a radial elongation face opposite the groove 14 and which makes it possible to prevent the female conductor 2 engaged on the male conductor 11 from retracting or detaching in an uncontrolled manner. In other words, the rim 152 of the male conductor 11 forms an anti-tearing member for the female conductor 2.

[0081] As mentioned previously, [Fig.2] illustrates an optimal engagement of the female conductor 2 on the male conductor 11: in such an optimal coupling, the axial termination 23 of the female conductor 2 coupled to the male conductor 11 is located between the groove 14 and the stop 13. This configuration guarantees optimal coupling for which the risks of untimely tearing and / or tearing of the female conductor 2 are minimal, or even non-existent.

[0082] [Fig. 3] illustrates an undesired coupling of the female conductor 2 on the male conductor 11, in which the female conductor 2 would be too engaged, relative to the proper elongation axis 01, so that the axial termination 23 of the female conductor 2 is located beyond the stop 13, relative to the groove 14. In other words, the stop 13 is then in an intermediate position between the groove 14 on the one hand and the axial termination 23 of the female conductor 2 on the other hand, relative to the proper elongation axis 01. In such an undesired configuration, a risk of tearing of the female conductor 2 would be to be feared. This configuration is ultimately made impossible or even difficult to achieve due to the presence of the stop 13 which will form an axial stop for the axial termination 23 of the female conductor 2, as described previously.

[0083] [Fig. 4] illustrates an undesired coupling of the female conductor 2 on the male conductor 11, in which the female conductor 2 would not be sufficiently engaged, relative to the proper elongation axis 01, so that the axial termination 23 of the female conductor 2 is located in front of the groove 14, relative to the stop 13. In other words, the groove 14 is then in an intermediate position between the axial termination 23 of the female conductor 2 on the one hand, and the stop 13 on the other hand, relative to the proper elongation axis 01. In such an undesired configuration, a risk of untimely tearing of the female conductor 2 would be to be feared. The presence of the groove 14 thus makes it possible to verify that the female conductor 2 will be sufficiently fitted onto the male conductor 11 in order to achieve a functional and durable coupling.

[0084] [Fig. 5] illustrates a block diagram of an assembly method 3 of the fluid conduit system 1 which is the subject of the invention. The assembly method 3 comprises the following steps:

[0085] - a step 31 of introducing the male conductor 11, at its end axial 12, in the female conductor 2, taken at the level of its axial termination 23;

[0086] - a step 32 of fitting the male conductor 11 into the female conductor 2, along the proper extension axis, until the axial end 12 of the female conductor 2 is located between the groove 14 and the stop 13 of the male conductor 11.

[0087] The assembly method 3 advantageously comprises a step 33 of clamping the fluid conduit system 1 using a clamping collar engaged on the female conductor 2 and placed between the axial end 12 and the stop 13 of the male conductor 11. During the clamping step 33, the clamping collar is then advanced ably placed between the axial end 12 of the male conductor 11 and the stop 13. Preferably, the clamping collar is placed between the axial end 12 and the groove 14 of the male conductor 11. Alternatively, the clamping collar is placed between the groove 14 and the stop 13 of the male conductor 11.

[0088] In summary, the invention relates to a male conductor 11 of a fluid conduit system 1 comprising the male conductor 11 and a female conductor 2 with which the male conductor 11 is intended to be coupled, the male conductor 11 comprising a hollow cylindrical bearing surface 110 extending along a specific elongation axis 01 and a set of markers making it possible to achieve optimal coupling of the female conductor 2 on the male conductor 11, the set of markers comprising a stop 13 configured to achieve an axial stop of the female conductor 2 and a groove 14 located between an axial end 12 of the hollow cylindrical bearing surface 110 and the stop 13 marking a minimal fitting.

[0089] Of course, the invention is not limited to the examples which have just been described and numerous adjustments can be made to these examples without departing from the scope of the invention. In particular, the different characteristics, forms, variants and embodiments of the invention can be associated with each other in various combinations insofar as they are not incompatible or mutually exclusive. In particular, all the variants and embodiments described above can be combined with each other.
