Description

Title of the invention: Coffee grounds collection container and coffee machine comprising such a container Technical field

[0001] The present invention relates to the field of coffee machines and in particular to coffee grounds collection containers. Such collection containers are suitable for receiving coffee grounds in any form, namely in the form of used capsules or advantageously in the form of coffee grounds cakes, in particular when the coffee machine is an automatic bean machine comprising an integrated grinder. These collection containers are intended to be installed in the coffee machine to receive the coffee grounds once the coffee has been brewed and the coffee-based beverage has been delivered to the user by the coffee machine. State of the art

[0002] DE 102012011199 A1 discloses a coffee grounds collection container comprising a main body and a disposable bag arranged inside the main body and suitable for receiving the coffee grounds. The disposable bag is intended to be thrown away and replaced by another bag when it is filled with coffee grounds.

[0003] Such a coffee grounds collection bin makes it possible to simplify the cleaning operations of the collection bin and in particular of the main body and to guarantee the cleanliness of the main body when using the collection bin.

[0004] However, the use of such a collection bin is expensive and generates waste since a new bag is required after each phase of emptying / cleaning the coffee grounds collection bin. In addition, handling the collection bin during the cleaning operation and when replacing the disposable bag is complex because removing and inserting the disposable bag requires respectively closing the disposable bag and deploying the disposable bag inside the main body so that it occupies the entire useful volume. Summary of the invention

[0005] The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks.

[0006] The technical problem underlying the invention consists of proposing a collection bin which is easy to clean and whose handling, particularly during an emptying / cleaning phase, and the cost of use are optimized.

[0007] For this purpose, the invention relates to a coffee grounds collection tray intended to be installed in a coffee machine, the collection tray comprising: - a main body defining a main housing extending along a longitudinal axis and comprising an upper opening for access to the main housing, - a collection device adapted to be received in the main housing and comprising a residue collection container, the collection device being adapted to be moved relative to the main housing between an assembled position in which the residue collection container is received in the main housing and a disassembled position in which the residue collection container is removed from the main housing through the upper opening.

[0008] According to the invention, the collection device is reusable and is formed by a drawer capable of sliding in the main housing between the assembled position and the disassembled position.

[0009] Thanks to the invention, the handling of the coffee grounds collection container during the emptying / cleaning phases is simplified since the handling of the collection device which is in the form of a drawer is easy for a user who only has to make a translational movement to assemble and disassemble the collection device from the main body. In addition, the cleaning of the coffee grounds collection container is simplified since by separating the main body from the collection device the user removes most of the coffee grounds from the collection container to dispose of it and then has easy access to the dirtiest areas of the main body and the collection device to clean them. Finally, the fact that the collection device is reusable makes it possible to optimize the cost of use of the coffee grounds collection container.

[0010] According to advantageous but not mandatory aspects of the invention, such a coffee grounds collection bin may incorporate one or more of the following features, taken in any technically admissible combination.

[0011] According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, the collection device comprises an axial projection extending from the residue collection container and defining a gripping zone suitable for being grasped by a user to move the collection device relative to the main housing between the assembled position and the disassembled position.

[0012] Such an arrangement makes it possible to simplify the handling of the collection device by making it easier for the user to grasp it.

[0013] According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, the height of the residue collection container is less than the height of the axial projection, preferably at least two times smaller, more preferably at least three times smaller.

[0014] Such an arrangement makes it possible to simplify access to the gripping area and therefore the handling of the collection device and to facilitate access to the residue collection container and therefore its cleaning once the collection device is in the disassembled position.

[0015] According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, when the collection device is in the assembled position an upper end of the axial projection forming the zone gripping is accessible to the user, the upper end protruding at least a portion of an edge of the upper opening.

[0016] Such an arrangement makes it possible to simplify access to the gripping area and therefore the handling of the collection device.

[0017] According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, the main body comprises a lower opening, the main housing being a through-housing and extending along the longitudinal axis between the lower opening and the upper opening, and the residue collection container closes the lower opening when the collection device is in the assembled position.

[0018] Such an arrangement makes it possible to simplify the cleaning of the coffee grounds collection container. Indeed, this arrangement makes it possible to simplify accessibility to the dirtiest areas of the main body and the collection device by providing a main body passing through and a residue collection container, which forms a bottom of the collection container, to which access is facilitated when the collection device is in the disassembled position.

[0019] According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, the main body comprises one or more peripheral walls forming an outline of the main housing, the height of the residue collection container being less than the height of the peripheral wall(s), preferably at least three times smaller.

[0020] Such an arrangement makes it possible to separate the bottom of the collection bin formed by the residue collection container from the side walls of the collection bin formed by the main body and thus to facilitate cleaning of the collection bin.

[0021] According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, the main body comprises one or more peripheral walls forming an outline of the main housing, and the or one of the peripheral walls comprises an outer face provided with reliefs for attaching a covering element to said outer face.

[0022] Such an arrangement makes it easier to integrate the coffee grounds collection container into the coffee machine and to separate the functional aspect from the aesthetic aspect. Thus the main body can be made of a material suitable for regular contact with water while the covering can be made of a more noble material sensitive to repeated contact with water.

[0023] According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, the main housing is provided with at least one translational guide rail for the collection device capable of cooperating with a side wall of the residue collection container.

[0024] Such an arrangement makes it easier to move the collection device between its assembled and disassembled positions and thus facilitates the cleaning / emptying operations of the coffee grounds collection bin.

[0025] According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, the main body comprises one or more peripheral walls forming an outline of the main housing, and the A waste collection container comprises one or more side walls adapted to rub against an inner face of the one or more peripheral walls when the collection device is moved from the assembled position to the disassembled position.

[0026] Such an arrangement makes it easier to remove the coffee grounds from the collection bin during the emptying operation thereof and thus to remove the majority of the coffee grounds from the collection bin when the collection device is moved from the assembled position to the disassembled position. Thus, the emptying operation but also the cleaning operation of the collection bin are simplified.

[0027] According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, the main body comprises one or more peripheral walls forming an outline of the main housing, and the or one of the peripheral walls comprises an outer face provided with an axial protrusion projecting from the outer face, the axial protrusion being suitable for cooperating with a member for detecting the connection of the collection tray to the coffee machine.

[0028] Such an arrangement makes it possible to perform the function of detecting the coffee grounds collection container in a simplified manner and to ensure that a coffee is made by the coffee machine only when the coffee grounds collection container is installed in the coffee machine.

[0029] The invention also relates to a coffee machine comprising a coffee grounds collection tray configured to receive the coffee grounds after the coffee has been brewed, wherein the coffee grounds collection tray is as described above. Brief description of the figures

[0055] The main body 32 defines a main housing 36 extending along a substantially vertical longitudinal axis X32 in which the collection device 34 is capable of sliding / translating between the assembled position and the disassembled position.

[0056] The main body 32 comprises in particular a plurality of peripheral walls 38, 40, 42, 44 forming a closed contour of the main housing 36 and defining in particular an internal volume of the main body 32.

[0057] More specifically, the main body 32 comprises a front peripheral wall 38, a rear peripheral wall 40, a left peripheral wall 42 and a right peripheral wall 44 extending along the longitudinal axis X32.

[0058] In a variant not shown, the main body 32 comprises a continuous peripheral wall, for example in the form of a cylinder with a circular base.

[0059] The main body 32 also comprises an upper opening 46 for access to the main housing 36.

[0060] Advantageously and as shown in Figures 2 to 4, the main body 32 also comprises a lower opening 48. The main housing 36 is then a through housing and extends along the longitudinal axis X32 between the lower opening 48 and the upper opening 46.

[0061] The main housing 36 is provided with two guide rails 50, 52, visible in Figures 3 and 4, suitable for guiding the collection device 34 in translation.

[0062] The guide rails 50, 52 are positioned respectively at a right rear corner and at a left rear corner of the main housing 36 and preferably extend over a height, measured parallel to the longitudinal axis X32, of between 50% and 100% of the height of the main body 32.

[0065] The collection device 34 is suitable for being received in the main housing 36 and is a reusable collection device 34.

[0066] In other words, the collection device 34 is suitable for reuse, i.e. reinserted by the user into the main body 32 once it has been removed from the main body to empty and / or clean the coffee grounds collection container 30.

[0067] The collection device 34 comprises a residue collection container 60.

[0068] The collection device 34 also comprises an axial projection 62 extending from the residue collection container 60, along an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis X32, and defining a gripping zone 64 of the collection device 34.

[0069] The gripping area 64 is suitable for being grasped by the user to move the collection device 34 relative to the main housing 36 between the assembled position and the disassembled position.

[0070] More precisely, the axial projection 62 comprises an upper end which forms the gripping zone 64 and a lower end attached to the residue collection container 60.

[0071] The waste collection container 60 visible in Figures 3 and 4 comprises a bottom 70 and a plurality of side walls 72, 74, 76, 78 extending parallel to the longitudinal axis X32 from the bottom 70.

[0072] More specifically, the waste collection container 60 comprises a rear side wall 74, a front side wall 72, a left side wall 76 and a right side wall 78.

[0073] Advantageously, the axial projection 62 extends in the continuity of the side wall front 72. The axial projection 62 and the front side wall 72 are for example formed by the same part. Preferably, the axial projection 62 is attached to the residue collection container 60 via its lower end only at the front side wall 72 and in particular an upper edge of the front side wall 72.

[0074] Advantageously, the side walls 72, 74, 76, 78 have substantially the same height and form a residue collection container of constant height.

[0075] The side walls 72, 74, 76, 78 are suitable for rubbing against an internal face 381, 401, 421, 441 of the peripheral walls 38, 40, 42, 44 when the collection device 34 is moved from the assembled position to the disassembled position.

[0076] The axial projection 62 is in plane contact with the internal face 381.

[0077] Advantageously, a respective upper edge 74A, 76A, 78A of the rear 74, left 76 and right 78 side walls is capable of rubbing respectively against the internal face 401, 421, 441 when the collection device 34 is moved from the assembled position to the disassembled position.

[0078] Advantageously, the upper edges 74A, 76A, 78A are capable of rubbing respectively against the internal faces 401, 421, 441 when the collection device 34 is moved from the assembled position to the disassembled position over a height greater than half the height of the main body 32, that is to say between half the height of the main body 32 and the height of the main body 32.

[0079] Each guide rail 50, 52 is capable of cooperating with a respective side wall 78, 76 of the residue collection container 60. The guide rail 50 is in particular capable of cooperating with the right side wall 78 which has a portion having a cross-section in the shape of an inverted L and the guide rail 52 is in particular capable of cooperating with the left side wall 76 which also has a portion having a cross-section in the shape of an L.

[0080] The height of the residue collection container 60 is less than the height of the axial projection 62, preferably at least two times smaller, more preferably at least three times smaller.

[0081] The height of the residue collection container 60 is also less than the height of the peripheral wall(s) 38, 40, 42, 44, preferably at least three times smaller.

[0082] In the assembled position the residue collection container 60 is received in the main housing 36.

[0083] More precisely, in the assembled position of the collection device 34, the residue collection container 60 closes the lower opening 48 and is advantageously in abutment against the abutment surface 54.

[0084] In the disassembled position of the collection device 34, the residue collection container 60 is removed from the main housing 36 through the upper opening 46.

[0085] When the collection device 34 is in the assembled position, the upper end of the axial projection 62 forming the gripping zone 64 is accessible to the user. For this purpose, the upper end protrudes from a portion 80 of an edge of the upper opening 46, in particular from the upper edge 82 of the front peripheral wall 38.

[0086] The cleaning / emptying operation of the coffee grounds collection container 30 will be described below in order to better understand the advantages linked to its architecture described above.

[0087] In a first step, the user separates the collection bin 30 from the coffee machine 10. Then, he places himself above a trash can, grasps the collection device using the gripping area and moves the collection device 34 from the assembled position to the disassembled position through the upper opening 46. When moving the collection device 34, the upper edges 74A, 76A, 78A rub respectively against the internal faces 401, 421, 441 so that the extraction of the collection device 34 makes it possible to evacuate into the trash can the vast majority of the coffee grounds from the internal volume of the collection bin 30 and in particular from the main body 32. Once the collection device is in the disassembled position, the residue collection container 60 is emptied into the trash can and the collection device 34 and the main body 32 are separated from each other. Then, the user can separately clean the collection device 34 and the main body 32 with easy access to the dirtiest areas since the main body 32 is pass-through and the height of the residue collection tray 60 is reduced. The cleaning of the coffee grounds collection tray 30 is thus simplified and improved. Once the cleaning is completed, the user can move the collection device 34 from the disassembled position to the assembled position, the bottom 70 venting in abutment against the abutment surface 54, and reinstall the collection tray 30 in the coffee machine 10.

[0088] The coffee grounds collection container 130 shown in Figures 5 to 8 is in accordance with the second embodiment of the invention.

[0089] In the description of this second embodiment, the similar elements or those having a similar function will not be described again in detail and will bear the same reference as in the first embodiment increased by the number 100. Only the elements differentiating from the first embodiment will be described in detail in the description of the second embodiment.

[0090] The coffee grounds collection bin 130 comprises a main body 132 and a collection device 134 adapted to be received in the main body 132.

[0091] As in the first embodiment, the main body 132 defines a main housing 136 extending along a substantially vertical longitudinal axis X132 in which the collection device 134 is capable of sliding / translating between the assembled position and the disassembled position. Similarly, the main body 132 comprises a front peripheral wall 138, a rear peripheral wall 140, a left peripheral wall 142 and a right peripheral wall 144 extending along the longitudinal axis XI32, as well as an axial prominence 158 projecting from the outer face 156 of the rear peripheral wall 140. The main body 132 also comprises, as in the first embodiment, an upper opening 146 and a lower opening 148 and on a contour of the lower opening 148 a stop surface 154 visible in [Fig.7].

[0092] Similar to the first embodiment, the collection device 134 is adapted to be received in the main housing 136 and is a reusable collection device 134. The collection device 134 comprises a residue collection container 160 and an axial projection 162 extending from the residue collection container 160 and defining the gripping zone 164 of the collection device 134. In the assembled position, the residue collection container 160 closes the lower opening 148 and advantageously abuts against the abutment surface 154.

[0093] Similarly, the residue collection container 160 comprises a bottom 170 and a rear side wall 174, a front side wall 172, a left side wall 176 and a right side wall 178. The side walls 172, 174, 176, 178, are adapted to rub against an inner face 1381, 1401, 1421, 1441 of the peripheral walls 138, 140, 142, 144 when the collection device 134 is moved from the assembled position to the disassembled position.

[0094] The main housing 136 is provided with a single guide rail 150 capable of guiding the collection device 134 in translation. The guide rail 150 has a cross-section in the shape of an arc of a circle. The guide rail 150 is notably positioned on an internal face of the front peripheral wall 138. The guide rail 50 is notably capable of cooperating with the front side wall 172 which also has a portion having a cross-section in the shape of an arc of a circle.

[0095] In the example shown, the guide rail 150 extends over a height, measured parallel to the longitudinal axis X132, between 50% and 100% of the height of the main body 132, preferably equal to 100%.

[0096] When the collection device 134 is in the assembled position, an upper end of the axial projection 162 forming a gripping zone 164 is accessible to the user. For this purpose, as visible in [Fig. 5], the upper end protrudes from a portion 180 of an edge of the upper opening 146.

[0097] In the second embodiment, the upper end protrudes from the portion 180 of the upper edge 182 of the right peripheral wall 144. More precisely, the upper edge 182 comprises a notch for receiving the upper end which forms the gripping zone 164 which is then accessible to the user.

[0098] In addition, the right peripheral wall 144 also comprises a receiving housing 192 for a fixing member 194 of the collection device 134 to the main body 132. The receiving housing 192 is advantageously through and the fixing member 194 is positioned on an external face of the axial projection 162. Thus when the collection device 134 is in the assembled position the fixing member 194 is received in the receiving housing 192.

[0099] The axial projection 162 extends in the continuity of the right side wall 178. Advantageously, the axial projection 162 and the right side wall 178 are formed in the same part.

[0100] The collection bin 130 also comprises, unlike the first embodiment, a covering element 198 suitable for being fixed to the main body 132.

[0101] For this purpose, the main body 132 comprises on an external face of its front peripheral wall 138 hooking reliefs 200 suitable for cooperating with corresponding hooking elements 202 positioned on a rear face 204 of the covering element 198.

[0102] The collection tray 130 is advantageously suitable for being integrated into a housing (not shown) accessible from a front face of the coffee machine 10. Thus, the covering 198 forms part of the front facade of the coffee machine.

[0103] The cleaning / emptying operation of the coffee grounds collection bin 130 is generally similar to that of the collection bin 30.

[0104] The differentiating elements are a step of unlocking by the user of the fixing member 194 relative to the receiving housing 192 before being able to move the collection device 134 from the assembled position to the disassembled position and an optional step of separating the covering element 198 from the main body 132 before cleaning / rinsing the main body 132.

[0105] Of course, the invention is in no way limited to the embodiment described and illustrated, which has been given only as an example. Modifications remain possible, in particular from the point of view of the constitution of the various elements or by substitution of technical equivalents, without departing from the scope of protection of the invention.
