Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Cosmetic product dispenser applicator
[0001] The invention relates to the field of cosmetics, and in particular to a dispenser applicator intended for packaging fluid or pasty products, for example mascaras or liquid lipsticks. The dispenser applicator according to the invention is more particularly designed for eye makeup.
[0002] A large number of documents are already known which disclose applicator dispensers for a fluid or pasty cosmetic product such as mascara.
[0003] Document EP 3 300 626 A1 discloses a packaging-sampling device for personal daily use and intended for packaging, sampling and ultimately applying a material in fluid to pasty form. Such a device is sufficiently rigid as a whole to be able to be handled. It is most often of a generally circular cylindrical shape with a main extension axis.
[0004] Document FR 2 982 132 A1 describes in a particular embodiment a case with cladding, that is to say comprising one or more cladding elements, specially arranged around a reservoir element in order to hide it from view.
[0005] Document FR 2 920 650 A1 describes a dispenser applicator for a cosmetic product such as mascara, of the type with a cover and refillable. It comprises a container with an externally threaded neck and a reservoir provided with a side wall delimiting a packaging cavity, an applicator comprising a threaded rod for cooperating with the neck by screwing, a rod secured to the head and to an application means, a hollow outer casing comprising an opening and inside which the container is fixed reversibly, as well as a cap comprising an opening and inside which the applicator is fixed reversibly.
[0006] Document US 2006 / 0102192 A1 describes a packaging for a cosmetic product such as a mascara, comprising an inner reservoir and an outer casing, arranged intertwined. The packaging is of the type with a covering, but not refillable. The reservoir and the casing are snapped into each other by the cooperation of a snap-in groove and a snap-in bead. Similarly, the cap and the head of the applicator are snapped into each other by the cooperation of recesses and projections. On the bottom of the casing, a simple centering device is provided cooperating with the bottom of the reservoir.
[0007] Document FR 2 940 026 A1 relates to a refillable structure comprising a covering, with a locking element, an anti-rotation device, as well as a base having axial projections for housing a bottle refill, and radial edges for the connection between the base and the bottle container.
[0008] Document FR 3 121 664 A1 describes a composite case part intended for a packaging-collection case with refill and covering, comprising two case parts, the composite case part having an axis, comprising an internal functional part and an external covering part extended axially. The composite case part further comprises a locking piece of the two holster pieces using a bayonet type locking assembly.
[0009] The invention proposes a lightweight applicator dispenser allowing mascara to be refilled simply and securely, without mixing the product and without dirtying the user's hands.
[0010] The invention thus relates to a cosmetic product dispenser applicator, comprising: (a) a container comprising an externally threaded neck and a reservoir extending in an axial direction, provided with a side wall and forming a cavity for packaging a cosmetic product, b) an applicator for the cosmetic product, comprising an internally threaded head so as to cooperate with said neck by screwing to ensure a tight closure of said container, a rod secured by its upper end to said head and by its lower end to an application element intended to be immersed in said container when said head is screwed to said neck, (c) a hollow outer casing comprising at least one opening and inside which said container is reversibly fixed, (d) a hollow cap comprising at least one opening and inside which said applicator of the cosmetic product is reversibly fixed.
[0011] In the applicator dispenser according to the invention, the outer and inner surfaces respectively of the container and of the outer casing carry first complementary reversible fastening elements, which are clipping elements cooperating for example at a lower part of the container, the outer and inner surfaces respectively of the applicator and of the cap carry second complementary reversible fastening elements cooperating for example at a lower part of the cap, and the first fastening elements and the second fastening elements are designed so that the attachment force between the container and the outer casing is less than the attachment force between the applicator and the cap.
[0012] Thus, this configuration allows, when refilling the product, to preferentially ensure the maintenance of the upper assembly in relation to the lower assembly and thus to guarantee the order of the refill gestures. The invention makes it possible to use a mascara properly throughout the life of each refill, without it becoming detached. unintentionally from the outer casing or cap. In addition, refilling the mascara is made easier and the amount of plastic thrown away each time the product is used is reduced.
[0013] The first fastening elements may comprise hooks of the outer casing cooperating with a groove of the side wall of the container.
[0014] There may be two hooks.
[0015] The second fixing elements may comprise a clip of the cover formed of protuberances and which cooperates with a groove of the applicator.
[0016] The protrusions may be of the rice grain type.
[0017] The protrusions may be distributed around the inner circumference of the hood and may be six in number.
[0018] The outer and inner surfaces respectively of the container and of the outer casing may further comprise complementary elements securing the outer casing and the container in rotation around the axial direction.
[0019] Said complementary elements may be hollows cooperating with corresponding projections.
[0020] The outer and inner surfaces respectively of the applicator and the cover may further comprise second complementary elements securing the applicator and the cover in rotation around the axial direction.
[0021] Said second complementary elements may be axial grooves cooperating with corresponding axial projections.

[0031] [Fig.9] is an exploded perspective view of a product applicator dispenser state-of-the-art cosmetics.
[0032] A cosmetic product dispenser applicator 1 according to the invention comprises a refill and a covering structure intended to cover said refill so as to obtain an aesthetic applicator dispenser conforming to the visual standards of the products marketed.
[0033] As illustrated in [Fig.l], the refill comprises a container 2, an applicator 3 and a wringer 4.
[0034] The container 2 comprises a reservoir 2a forming a cavity for packaging the cosmetic product, the reservoir 2a extending in an axial direction and comprising a side wall 2e and at its so-called upper end an externally threaded neck 2b.
[0035] The applicator 3 of the cosmetic product comprises a head 3a internally threaded so as to cooperate with the neck 2b by screwing to ensure a sealed closure of the container 2. The head 3a is housed inside an insert 7. A rod 3b of the applicator 3 is secured by its upper end to the head 3a and by its lower end to an application element 3c, typically a brush. The application element 3c typically plunges into the container 2 when the head 3a is screwed to the neck 2b.
[0036] The application element 3c may be an application tip comprising a so-called central part cooperating by its end with said rod 3b at its lower end, typically by a snap-fastening, and a so-called peripheral part capable of taking a fraction of said product for the purpose of its application. Said application tip may be an application material of the cellular or fibrous type secured to a support, or even be a brush comprising a metal twist as a support and a plurality of bristles as application material, or even a molded plastic part typically comprising a plurality of raised parts or projections, and / or hollow parts or recesses.
[0037] The wringer 4 is inserted and locked by snap-fastening, welding or gluing inside the neck 2b of the container 2 and is intended to wring the application element 3c each time the latter is removed from the reservoir 2a, so as to regulate the quantity of cosmetic product removed.
[0038] The rod 3b and the head 3a may be formed in one piece, for example by molding plastic material. Furthermore, the wiper 4 may also be an integral part of the container 2.
[0039] The covering structure of the applicator dispenser 1 according to the invention comprises an outer casing 5 intended to surround at least the side wall of the container 2 and a cap or hood 6 intended to cover the head 3a of the applicator 3 and comprising the insert 7.
[0040] The cap 6 is hollow and more particularly comprises a side wall 6a ( [Fig.4]), a bottom 6b forming the top of the applicator dispenser 1 and an opening 6c called lower allowing the insertion of the head 3a of the applicator 3 inside the recess.
[0041] In the same way, the outer casing 5 is hollowed out and comprises a side wall 5a, a bottom 5b forming the foot of the dispenser applicator 1 and an opening 5c called the upper opening allowing the insertion of the container 2 inside the recess.
[0042] The covering structure makes it possible to obtain an aesthetic and customizable applicator dispenser. It also serves to hide visual imperfections resulting from the manufacture of the refill.
[0043] The refill includes specific features aimed at achieving reversible fixing of the applicator 3 and the container 2 respectively inside the cap 6 and the outer casing 5.
[0044] The head 3a of the applicator 3 comprises on its external lateral surface an element 3d clipping element cooperating by axial assembly with a complementary 6d clipping element arranged on the inner surface of the side wall 5a of the cap 6, the two clipping elements 3d, 6d forming a reversible axial fixing means (figures 2 and 3). More particularly, this reversible fixing is carried out by clipping after a translational movement in the axial direction of the head 3a relative to the cap 6. The head 3a of the applicator 3 also comprises on its outer lateral surface an anti-rotation element 3e cooperating after insertion of the head 3a into the cap 6 with a complementary anti-rotation element 6e arranged on the inner surface of the side wall 6a of the cap 6, the two anti-rotation elements 3e, 6e forming an anti-rotation system and securing in rotation about the axial direction the cap 6 and the applicator 3.
[0045] The reversible axial fixing elements and the anti-rotation system for assembling the applicator and the cap are of the male / female or bead / groove type.
[0046] In particular, the clipping element of the applicator 3 comprises a groove 3d which can extend continuously all around the applicator 3 and on which a clamp of the cap is gripped comprising protuberances 6d in the shape of grains of rice, for example six in number, distributed over the inner circumference of the cap 6 and projecting radially beyond the inner surface of the side wall 6a. The protuberances 6d are intended to clip into the groove 3d of the applicator 3. The clipping is preferably carried out in a lower zone of the cap 6.
[0047] The anti-rotation element of the applicator 3 consists of a plurality of projections 3e, distributed over the circumference of the head 3a and extending radially beyond the outer lateral surface of the head 3a and in the axial direction, and the anti-rotation element rotation of the cap 6 consists of a plurality of grooves 6e, distributed on the inner circumference of the side wall 6a, extending in the axial direction and hollowed radially in the inner surface of the side wall 6a.
[0048] Thus, when the head 3a of the applicator 3 is inserted into the cap 6, the protrusions 6d engage in the groove 3d and the projections 3e engage in the grooves 6e.
[0049] As illustrated in Figures 5 to 8, the container 2 comprises on the outer surface of its side wall 2e, at the level of the lower end of the side wall 2e, a clipping element 2c cooperating by axial assembly with a complementary clipping element 5d arranged on the inner surface of the side wall 5a of the outer casing 5, the two clipping elements 2c, 5d forming a reversible axial fixing means. More particularly, this reversible fixing is carried out by clipping after a translational movement in the axial direction of the container 2 relative to the outer casing 5.
[0050] The container 2 also comprises on the outer surface of its side wall 2e an anti-rotation element 2d cooperating after insertion of the container 2 into the outer casing 5 with a complementary anti-rotation element 5e arranged on the inner surface of the side wall 5a of the outer casing 5, the two anti-rotation elements 2d, 5e forming an anti-rotation system and securing in rotation around the axial direction the outer casing 5 and the container 2, that is to say preventing the relative rotation of the outer casing 5 around the container 2 around said axial direction.
[0051] The fixing means and the anti-rotation systems for assembling the container 3 of the outer casing 5 are of the male / female or bead / groove type.
[0052] The clipping element of the outer casing 5 is constituted by hooks 5d, for example two in number, and the clipping element of the container 2 is constituted by an annular groove or groove 2c hollowed radially in the inner surface of the side wall 2e and extending over the entire inner circumference of the outer casing 5 at the level of the lower end of the side wall 2e.
[0053] The anti-rotation element of the outer casing 5 is constituted by a plurality of projections 5e, distributed on the inner circumference of the side wall 5a and extending radially beyond the inner circumference of the side wall 5a and in the axial direction, and the anti-rotation element of the container 2 is constituted by a plurality of grooves 2d, distributed on the inner circumference of the side wall 2e, extending in the axial direction and hollowed radially in the outer surface of the side wall 2e.
[0054] When the container 2 is inserted into the outer casing 5, the end of the hooks 5d engage in the groove 2c and the projections 5e engage in the grooves 2d so as to prevent any rotation about the axial direction of the container relative to the outer casing 5.
[0055] The head 3a of the applicator 3 has an internal thread 3f ([Fig.4]) which is screwed onto an external thread 2f formed on the neck 2b. A wiper 4, more particularly made of polyethylene or elastomeric material, is fixed inside the neck 2b and the head 3a of the applicator 3 presses on the wiper 4 when the applicator 3 is screwed onto the container 2 so as to effect a sealed closure of the reservoir 2a. The head 3a of the applicator 3 is inserted into the cap 6 through the lower opening 6c of the cap 6 until the axial fixing elements 3d, 6d clip. An axial stop 6f may also be formed in the cap 6 so as to prevent the head 3a from being inserted too deeply into the cap 6.The container 2 is inserted into the outer casing 5 through the upper opening 5c of the outer casing 5, bottom of the container 2a first, until the axial fixing elements 2c, 5d clip, so as to allow the neck 2b to extend above the upper opening 5c.
[0056] Once assembled, the cap 6 and the applicator 3, respectively the outer casing 5 and the container 2, are perfectly integral, that is to say that they do not undergo any movement relative to each other, until the user decides to separate them. Also, during common handling of the dispenser applicator 1 of the type opening or closing of the dispenser, the user grasps on the one hand the cap 6, and on the other hand the outer casing 5, and exerts a relative rotational movement around the axial direction of the cap 6 relative to the outer casing 5. Due to the anti-rotation systems, this translational movement is fully transmitted to the applicator 3 and to the container 2 so that the latter are screwed or unscrewed.
[0057] To detach the refill from the covering structure, for example in order to change the refill, the user grasps the cap 6 on the one hand and the outer casing 5 on the other hand while the applicator dispenser 1 is in the closed position, which advantageously prevents any unfortunate soiling, and exerts traction in the axial direction.
[0058] The gripping force between the cap 6 and the applicator 3 is greater than the gripping force between the outer casing 5 and the container 2, so that it is the outer casing 5 which is detached first from the container 2, i.e. the fixing elements 5d, 2c disengage.
[0059] The user then grasps the cap 6 on the one hand and the container 2 on the other hand, which provides a substantial grip, and again exerts traction in the axial direction. The cap 6 then separates from the applicator 3, i.e. the fixing means 6d, 3d disengage. It is then possible to install a new refill inside the covering structure or to install the refill just removed on another covering structure. The new refill is then clipped into the outer casing 5, then the cap 6 is clipped onto the new refill.
[0060] The advantage of the dispenser applicator according to the invention is its simplicity, its limited number of parts and its durability. The fragile parts of the clipping systems are on the disposable refills. The design of the hooks holds the container by the bottom and allows manufacturing without adding material or particular movements in the injection mold, the demolding being natural. In addition, the hooks are not exposed to shocks during the life of the product, which makes the system robust. Finally, there is a differentiation between the opening gesture of the dispenser applicator, which is a rotation, and the reloading gesture, which is a traction of the different elements.
[0061] [Fig. 9] illustrates a prior art applicator dispenser 1'. In this type of dispenser, all of the elements are discarded, namely the cap 6', the applicator 3' (4.27 g of poly(butylene terephthalate)) provided with the stem 3b', the application element 3c' (0.25 g), the wiper 4' (0.4 g of low density polyethylene), the container 2' (4 g of polypropylene), and the outer casing 5' (6.1 g of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), which represents a total of 15.02 g of plastic material discarded.
[0062] By comparison, with an applicator dispenser 1 of the invention, a total of 7.35 g of plastic material are discarded (the insert 7 (1 g of polypropylene), the rod 3b (1.7 g of poly(butylene terephthalate)), the application element 3c (0.25 g), the wringer 4 (0.4 g of low density polyethylene), and the container 2 (4 g of polypropylene)).
[0063] The applicator dispenser according to the invention thus makes it possible to halve the weight of plastic material thrown away, with each refill.
