Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Bottle made from recyclable materials FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to a bottle made from recyclable materials, in particular other than glass. The bottle is in the form of a rigid shell receiving a flexible pouch.
[0002] This bottle is a container intended to receive food or non-food liquids.
[0003] The term "bottle" according to the present invention encompasses all forms of container preferably imitating the traditional form, having a cylindrical body ending in the upper part with a neck connected to the body by a transitional zone forming the shoulder and receiving a closure member in the form in particular of a capsule screwed onto the neck. STATE OF THE ART
[0004] Containers are known made of materials more economical than glass, formed from a rigid shell corresponding to the shape of a bottle and the cavity of which is occupied by a flexible, waterproof pocket, receiving the liquid or, more generally, the fluid or pasty product, packaged in the bottle for example according to document US 4,256,231.
[0005] But, in general, these bottles, flasks or others are made from combinations of materials that are difficult to separate for recycling and therefore ultimately not recyclable.
[0006] PURPOSE OF THE INVENTION
[0007] The present invention aims to develop a bottle resembling a glass bottle, but made of recyclable materials or materials, easily separable and usable like traditional bottles in filling and packaging installations, bottling lines, crates or transport racks.
[0008] DISCLOSURE AND ADVANTAGES OF THE INVENTION
[0009] To this end, the invention relates to a bottle made from recyclable materials of the type defined above, characterized in that the rigid shell is formed by a body and a head, the body is composed of a sleeve having a lower end closed by a bottom and an upper end, the head is shaped like a shoulder, and the flexible pocket is fixed to the head itself fixed to the upper edge of the body.
[0010] Such a bottle is particularly simple to manufacture since it is composed of separate, easily assembled elements, namely the body of the bottle with its base, preferably fitted, and the head consisting of a part shaped as a shoulder, neck and neck; this part can be produced by molding / injection in a recyclable plastic material. This head receives the flexible bag and thus constitutes an assembly which fits into the body and is fixed to it by the lower edge of the head. The simplicity of recycling stems from this structure of the bottle.
[0011] According to one characteristic, the head is composed of a skirt forming the shoulder and fixed to the body and of an upper sleeve forming the neck and receiving an inner sleeve provided in the upper part with a thread for the capsule, the upper sleeve continuing in the skirt by an inner extension to receive the mouth of the flexible pocket.
[0012] This particularly simple embodiment constitutes a rigid assembly which cooperates with the body of the bottle to ensure its shape regardless of the external forces exerted on the bottle.
[0013] The head can be held by the neck and the neck, without risk when the bottle is filled.
[0014] This head is easily assembled to the pocket and thus constitutes a subassembly which is easy to manufacture and maneuver to assemble it to the body.
[0015] This embodiment is particularly advantageous for packaging certain liquids in the partially assembled bottle without the neck with the thread receiving the capsule being placed in the head.
[0016] The capsule can thus be installed directly on the inner sleeve, in a tamper-proof manner and the assembly put in place after filling the bottle.
[0017] According to another characteristic, the upper sleeve is bordered externally by a collar and the inner sleeve has a stop collar under its external thread to define and limit its insertion into the upper sleeve. This collar facilitates the correct positioning of the inner sleeve.
[0018] According to another characteristic, the skirt, the upper sleeve and the extension The inner sleeves are joined by a junction ring. This junction ring is made up of a thickness of material at the Y-shaped junction of the upper sleeve with the skirt and the inner extension.
[0019] This junction stiffens the head and in particular it allows the bottle to be held by its neck without risk of deformation.
[0020] According to another characteristic, the head is formed of a flat circular ring skirt connected to the upper sleeve directly forming the neck provided with a thread receiving the capsule.
[0021] This type of head produces a cylindrical bottle having a flat bottom and top, the top having only the upper sleeve forming the neck in relief.
[0022] According to a particularly advantageous characteristic, the body and the bottom of the bottle are made of cardboard or a material similar to cardboard, the body by a cardboard sleeve, for example, of cylindrical shape with a circular or polygonal section and the bottom is a piece of stamped cardboard, which is fitted into the underside of the sleeve forming the body. This bottom is, preferably, fitted and glued to the body. This cardboard assembly is, preferably, assembled separately, before the head with its flexible pocket is placed on top of the sleeve.
[0023] According to another characteristic, the head, the capsule and the guarantee ring are made of polyethylene.
[0024] According to another characteristic, the bottle comprises a head composed of a skirt integral with an upper sleeve forming the neck and an inner sleeve having an upper, outer part, forming the neck terminated by a thread for the capsule, a lower part in the form of an extension coming into the head, the outer part and the extension being joined by a stop collar, the upper sleeve being engaged on the extension of the inner sleeve up to the stop collar and the extension ending in an assembly crown on which the flexible bag is fixed by its end piece.
[0025] According to another characteristic, the stop collar is a torus of triangular section forming by its side facing the upper sleeve of the head, a radial stop above the assembly crown to position the upper sleeve.
[0026] According to another advantageous characteristic, the upper sleeve has a thread and the assembly crown has a complementary thread or the upper sleeve is smooth and its assembly crown is smooth, the connection being made by a force assembly.
[0027] According to another advantageous characteristic, the assembly crown is ribbed and the end piece has a smooth surface for assembly by tight fitting.
[0028] According to another advantageous characteristic, the body and the base are made of cardboard and the head, the capsule and the guarantee ring are made of polyethylene.
[0029] The entire bottle, thus made from recyclable materials, is easily broken down into its separately recyclable elements. Brief description of the drawings

[0047] 1 DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION
[0048] According to figures 1A, 1B a first embodiment of the bottle 100a consists of a body surmounted by a head 2 to which is fixed a flexible pocket 3 housed in the body 1 and receiving the liquid.
[0049] The head 2 is composed of a skirt 21 forming the shoulder E joining an upper sleeve 22 forming the neck C. The upper part 221 of the sleeve 22 forms the neck G provided with a thread 222 and a collar 223, in particular a retaining collar.
[0050] The bottle 100a is closed by a cap 4 screwed onto the thread 222 and combined with a guarantee ring 5 covering the neck G under the thread and attaching to the collar 223.
[0051] The capsule 4 is detached from the ring 5 by unscrewing it, leaving in place the guarantee ring 5 retained by the collar 223.
[0052] In more detail, according to the sectional view of [Fig.2A], the body 1 is a cylindrical surface of circular section whose bottom 11 is closed by a fitted bottom 13 and the top receives the head 2.
[0053] The thread 222 of the neck G is terminated by a ring and below this a retaining collar 223 for the guarantee ring 5 combined with the capsule 4.
[0054] The capsule 4 has a thread 41 corresponding to the thread 222 of the neck and below its thread, the capsule 4 is combined with a guarantee ring 5 provided with claws or a hanging collar 51 to come under the retaining collar 223 of the neck G by screwing the capsule 4 onto the neck.
[0055] The upper sleeve 22 joins the base of the neck C which is a zone in the form of a junction crown 23 to which the skirt 21 is connected which ends below with an edge 211 with a recess to engage and fix itself on the upper edge 12 of the body 1.
[0056] The upper sleeve 22 descends beyond the junction crown 23 in the skirt by an internal extension 224 projecting into the shoulder E (skirt) and receiving the mouth 31 of the flexible pocket 3.
[0057] The junction crown 23 has a reinforced section for holding the upper sleeve 22 at its meeting with the inner extension 24.
[0058] The junction crown 23 rises by its increased thickness up to the neck to form a step 231 by the reduction in thickness of its wall up to the thickness of the upper part 221 to ensure continuity at the level of the lower edge of the external surface of the ring 6.
[0059] The flexible pocket 3 is fixed to the inner extension 24 before the assembly of the head 2 to the body 1.
[0060] The base 13 can be fitted into the body 1 before or after the head 2 is put in place.
[0061] The body 1 is a cardboard sleeve, generally cylindrical in shape, with a circular section. But this shape of the body, which corresponds to the most common shape of bottles, particularly wine bottles, is not limiting. It can also be cylindrical in shape with a rounded section (i.e. oval, elliptical) or polygonal, regular or irregular.
[0062] In this case, the base of the head 2 at the level of the shoulder E joining the edge 211 will have a shape adapted to the rounded or polygonal shape of the upper edge 12 of the body 1 to allow assembly, in particular by fitting.
[0063] Finally, the traditional, cylindrical bottle body can also be non-cylindrical, while respecting a shape of its upper edge 12 so that this shape is compatible with the possible shape of the lower edge 211 of the skirt 21.
[0064] The top 2 is a molded / injected part, preferably made of polyethylene or other compatible plastic material, in particular biocompatible and recyclable.
[0065] Figures 1B, 2B show a second embodiment of the bottle 100b, the elements of which are similar or identical to those of the first embodiment will bear the same numerical references without an alphabetical suffix. The components which are similar, but not identical, will bear the same numerical reference, but followed by the suffix b.
[0066] The bottle 100b comprises a cylindrical body 1 of circular section, the underside of which is closed by a fitted bottom 13 as in the first embodiment. The upper edge 12 of the cylindrical body receives a head 2b which forms the shoulder E, the neck C and the neck G of the bottle.
[0067] The head 2b has an upper sleeve 22b which forms a stop collar 223. The upper sleeve 22b receives an inner sleeve 25 forming the neck G. The inner sleeve 25 has a threaded end 251 for receiving the capsule 4 and a collar 252 for coming against the upper stop collar 225b when the inner sleeve 25 is engaged in the upper sleeve 22b forming part of the neck.
[0068] The upper sleeve 22b joins a rounded, flared skirt 21b forming the shoulder E and the neck C of the bottle. This skirt 21b ends in the lower part with an edge 211b with a recess to position itself on the upper edge 12 of the body 1 as in the first embodiment.
[0069] The upper sleeve 22b forming part of the neck and the skirt 21b join in a junction ring 23b. The upper sleeve 22b extends below the junction ring 23b by an internal extension 24b projecting into the skirt 21b and receiving the mouth 31 of the flexible pocket 3.
[0070] The inner sleeve 25 has a thicker wall than that of the upper sleeve 22 and thus reinforces the upper sleeve 22b, the junction ring 23b and the inner extension 24b to which the mouth 31 of the flexible bag 3 is fixed.
[0071] The material of the inner sleeve 25 may be different from that of the head 2b, for example, depending on the liquid filling the bottle which is, for example, a liquid other than wine or a food liquid. The same applies to the quality of the material of the flexible pouch 3.
[0072] The inner sleeve 25 may also have a particular thread such as a safety thread for bottles receiving certain non-food liquids, detergent or other. The capsule 5 may, under these conditions, be assembled to the thread 251 by a tamper-evident type connection and constitute a combination (inner sleeve 25 + capsule 4) produced and assembled separately from the bottle to be connected to the bottle after it has been filled.
[0073] The collar 225b facilitates gripping the still open bottle (without its inner sleeve 25 and the capsule 4) for transport, handling and filling operations.
[0074] In this embodiment as in the previous embodiment, the body 1 is a cardboard cylinder, for example, of circular section. The fitted bottom 13 is, preferably, also a cardboard piece, shaped as a lid with a rim 131 to form the lip of the bottle. The fitted bottom 13 is, preferably, glued to the interior of the cylindrical body 1. The same applies to the head 2, the lower edge 211 of which covers the upper edge 12 of the body 1 by being glued to it.
[0075] The assembly of the upper sleeve 22b and the inner sleeve 25 is preferably glued.
[0076] The parts making up the head 2b, namely the skirt 21b, the upper sleeve 22b, the inner extension 24b and the inner sleeve 25 are preferably made of polyethylene. The same applies to the cap screwed onto the neck. The flexible pouch 3 is preferably also made of polyethylene.
[0077] According to figures IC, 2C, the third embodiment of the bottle 100c according to the invention is composed of elements partly identical to those of the first embodiment which will bear the same numerical references without alphabetical suffix; the elements similar, but different from those of the first embodiment will bear the same numerical references supplemented by the suffix c.
[0078] The bottle 100c consists of a cylindrical body 1 of circular section whose lower end or edge 11 is closed by a fitted bottom 13 fixed by gluing. The top 12 of the body 1 receives a head 2c comprising a skirt 21c flattened in the shape of a circular ring whose edge 21c has a step at mid-thickness to cover the upper edge 12 of the body 1 and fit into it by being fixed there, for example, by gluing.
[0079] The head 2c continues with an upper sleeve 22c forming the neck C and the neck G. The upper part 221c of the neck is provided with a thread 222c and a retaining collar 223c.
[0080] The 100c bottle is closed with a capsule 4 combined with a guarantee ring 5 which hooks under the collar 223c when the capsule 4 is completely screwed onto the thread 222c of the neck.
[0081] This guarantee ring 5 detaches from the capsule 4 when you start to unscrew it. It can also be detached by a circular cutting line.
[0082] The mouth 31 of the flexible bag 3 is glued flat against the underside of the circular ring 21c which, here, replaces the shoulder of the conventional bottle.
[0083] The bottle according to the third embodiment is a flat-topped bottle without a neck like certain metal bottles receiving various liquids ranging from edible oil to technical liquids.
[0084] The body 1 and the fitted bottom 13 are preferably made of cardboard from a cardboard tube forming the body 1 of this bottle and a stamped part constituting the fitted bottom 13.
[0085] The nested bottom 13 is glued into the body 1 just as the crown 21c of the head 2c is glued to the edge 12 of the body 1.
[0086] The elements which make up the head 2c as well as the capsule 4 are, preferably, made of polyethylene; the pocket 3 is made of polyethylene and the body 1 and the base 13 are made of cardboard.
[0087] [Fig.3] in its parts A, B, C shows the comparative shape of the first, second and third embodiment of the top of the bottle 100a, 100b, 100c.
[0088] [Fig.4], in its parts A, B, C shows the sectional view of the head of the bottles to which the flexible bag 3 is fixed according to the first, second and third embodiment.
[0089] Figures 5 and 6 show a fourth embodiment of bottle 100d, the elements of which are similar or identical to those of the first embodiment and bear the same numerical references without an alphabetical suffix. The similar, but not identical, components bear the same numerical reference, but with the suffix (d).
[0090] The bottle 100d comprises a cylindrical body 1 of circular section, the bottom 11d of which is closed by a fitted bottom 13d retained by the edge 111d of the bottom 11d curved inwards to retain the bottom 13d.
[0091] The upper edge 12d of the cylindrical body receives a head 2d which forms the shoulder E and the neck C of the bottle.
[0092] The head 2d receives an inner sleeve 25d surmounting the head by a neck G ending in a thread receiving a cap 4d initially secured to a guarantee sleeve 5d.
[0093] The extension 254d of the sleeve 25d is engaged in the head 2d; it carries the end piece 32d of a flexible pocket 3d forming the deformable sealed volume.
[0094] [Fig.6] shows an embodiment of the cylindrical body 1 whose lower edge 1 Id forms, as already indicated, a folded edge 111 to hold the bottom 13d and at the same time form a jable to have a regular and reinforced support crown (the folded edge 1 Id) for the bottle in the upright position.
[0095] Before folding down the edge 1 Id, it is advantageous to put a bead of glue in the angle formed under the underside of the bottom 13d and the edge 1 Id not yet folded down. The folding down is simply done by machine by supporting the bottom 13d, the body Id being, for example, in an upturned position relative to its upright position.
[0096] The upper edge 12d is preferably machined at a sharp angle.
[0097] The lOOd bottle is made by assembling sub-assemblies bringing together components made separately.
[0098] Thus, the body 1d is assembled with its base 13d and the head 2d in which the inner sleeve 25d is engaged and fixed, the upper end of which receives, after filling, the capsule 4d with the guarantee sleeve 5d.
[0099] After assembling the head 2d of the inner sleeve 25d, the flexible bag 2d is fitted by its end piece 32d onto the lower end of the inner sleeve 25d. subassembly thus produced is assembled to the body Id by joining the edge 21 Id of the head 2d to the upper edge 12d of the body Id, the pocket 3d coming into the body Id.
[0100] [Fig.7] shows the exploded view of the different components of the 100d bottle according to their arrangement along the zz axis of the bottle.
[0101] The detailed sectional view of [Fig.8] from the top of the 100d bottle highlights the subassemblies of the 100d bottle and their nesting to form a rigid assembly around the 3d flexible bag whose volume occupies the part of the body Id when the bag is filled with liquid. The nesting of the components underlines the rigid structure obtained by the nature of the material of these and the specific static / mechanical characteristics.
[0102] The head 2d is composed of a skirt 21d with an upper sleeve 22d ending in an edge 226d and receiving the inner sleeve 25d forming the neck G. The skirt 21d, rounded, flared forming the shoulder E and the neck C of the bottle ends in the lower part by an edge 21 Id with a recess or a circular rebate to be positioned on the upper edge 12d of the body 1 as in the first embodiment.
[0103] The inner sleeve 25d is composed of an outer part forming the neck G and receiving the cap 4d and the safety ring 5e as well as an inner part relative to the head 2d in the form of an extension 254d, joined by a junction zone 23d forming a stop collar 252d.
[0104] The outer part of the sleeve 25d is composed of a slightly frustoconical part joining the cylindrical part provided with the thread 25 Id with, at its base, a sealing collar 253'd for the capsule 4d and below this a retaining collar 253'd for the capsule 4d below this a retaining collar 253d for the safety ring 5d. This safety ring is a cylindrical sleeve extending the capsule 4d and comprising a lip 51d forming a stop notch under the retaining collar 253d to remain hooked by its lip 5 Id after having been fitted onto the neck G. The capsule 4d separates from the ring 5d by shearing by the simple rotation of the capsule 4d.
[0105] The stop collar 252d is a torus of triangular section forming a radial stop 2521 above an assembly crown 255d on which the upper sleeve 22d of the head 2d rises up to the radial stop 2521 to be fixed there, for example, by gluing; this junction zone 23d constitutes an annular reinforcement by the combination and superposition of the sleeve 22d and the extension 254d.
[0106] The lower end of the extension 254d forms an assembly crown 256d to which the end piece 32d is secured.
[0107] The section of [Fig.8] shows the deployed 3d flexible pocket.
[0108] The inner sleeve 25d may have a particular thread 25Id such as a safety thread for bottles receiving certain non-food liquids, detergents or others. The capsule 4 is, under these conditions, assembled to the thread 25 Id by a tamper-evident type connection.
[0109] The reinforcement constituted by the junction zone 23d facilitates the gripping of the still open bottle (without the capsule 4) for transport, handling and filling operations.
[0110] In this embodiment as in the previous embodiments, the body 1 is a cardboard cylinder, for example, of circular section. The nested bottom 13d is, preferably, also a cardboard piece, glued to the inside of the cylindrical body 1. The same applies to the head 2d, the lower edge 211 of which covers the upper edge 12 of the body 1 by being glued to it.
[0111] The assembly of the upper sleeve 22b and the inner sleeve 25 is preferably glued.
[0112] The parts making up the head 2d, namely the skirt 21d, the upper sleeve 22d and the inner sleeve 25d are preferably made of polyethylene. The same is true of the capsule 4. The flexible pouch 3 is preferably also made of polyethylene.
[0113] [Fig.9] shows in top view (a) and in front view (b) a flattened flexible bag 3d with a tip 32d formed of a sleeve 32Id secured to a flat crown 322d joined above the flexible bag 3d. The top of the sleeve 32Id is bordered by a small gripping crown 323d to facilitate the gripping of the tip 32d to force it onto the assembly crown 256d of the extension 254d. The tip 32d is provided with a temporary plug 324d. The bag 3d completed by its tip 32d is a component supplied assembled, flat.
[0114] [Fig. 10] shows different variants of the head 2d according to two variants 2d-l and 2d-2 of the same general shape but for a different assembly with the extension 24d with two variants 25d-l, 25d-2 of the inner sleeve.
[0115] Part (a) of [Fig. 10] is a front view of the head 2d composed of the skirt 21d and its upper sleeve 22d with an edge 226d also called the edge of the head.
[0116] The edge 21 Id of the skirt 21d is provided with notches 212d (part d, [Fig. 10]) to reinforce its assembly to the upper edge 12d of the body Id and block its rotation.
[0117] Part (b) of [Fig. 10] is a section along (AA) of part (a) (highlighting a first embodiment of the head 2d-l whose edge 226d of the upper sleeve 22d has an internal thread 227d for screwing onto the thread 2551 of the assembly crown of the extension 24d itself provided with a thread 251.
[0118] The lower edge of the skirt 21d has a circular groove 21 Id for tight assembly with the edge 12d of the body Id. The groove 21 Id has notches 212d blocking the relative rotation of the skirt 21d with respect to the body Id.
[0119] An example of notch 212d shown has a triangular shape, one side of which is a ramp of slight inclination, of the order of 20° and the other side of this triangular shape is oriented practically radially and thus constitutes a stop notch.
[0120] Several such notches 212d are distributed around the periphery of the circular groove 211d of the skirt 21d.
[0121] The notches 212d are made with the skirt 21d which is a molded or injected part.
[0122] Part (c) of [Fig. 10] shows a head 2d-2 whose edge 226d of the upper sleeve 22d is internally reinforced by ribs 228d. The shape of the edge 21 Id of the skirt 21d is the same as above.
[0123] [Fig. 11] shows an inner sleeve 25d-1 comprising in the upper part an external thread 25Id for the capsule, followed by a sealing collar 253d' delimiting the thread and serving as a stop for screwing the capsule and a collar 253d to retain the guarantee strip 5 Id.
[0124] The stop collar 252d overcomes a thread 2551 on the assembly crown 255d for screwing the skirt 21d.
[0125] Then, the extension 24d has an assembly ring 256d for fixing the end piece 32d of the pocket 3d. This ring 256d is constituted by retaining members, for example, measures 2561 formed in the material and on which the end piece 32d of the flexible pocket 3d is forcibly engaged.
[0126] The axial sectional view (AA) shows these different parts.
[0127] [Fig. 12] shows another embodiment of the inner sleeve 25d-2 having in the upper part a thread 25 Id for the capsule, followed by two collars 253', 253d then below the stop collar 252d and below this a smooth crown 2552 for the force fitting of the upper sleeve 22d of the head 2d-2.
[0128] Under this smooth crown 2552, there is an assembly crown 2556 for fixing the end piece 32d of the head 2d-l as in the previous embodiment, by retaining rings onto which the end piece 32d of the pocket 3d is forced.
[0129] The axial sectional view BB associated with this front view shows the profile of the different parts described above.
[0130] In summary and in conclusion, the invention relates to a bottle whose rigid shell is formed by a body and a head, the body is composed of a sleeve having a lower end closed by a bottom and an upper end; the head is shaped like a shoulder, a neck and at the upper edge of the body; the flexible pocket connected to the head is housed in the body;
