Description

Title of the invention: DEVICE FOR COVERING AN OPENING OF A VEHICLE

[0001] The present invention relates to a device for covering an opening of a vehicle.

[0002] More specifically, the present invention refers to the sector of vans, mini-vans, camper vans, vans or the like, also called "recreational vehicles", that is to say adapted for leisure and such that they comprise a living space.

[0003] In detail, the present invention relates to a device for covering an opening of a vehicle having elements such as blackout blinds and / or mosquito nets.

[0004] The living space of these vehicles generally has small windows to provide lighting from the outside environment or to allow air to circulate.

[0005] The need for blackout blinds therefore arises to prevent light from filtering into the living space when it is not required.

[0006] Sometimes an additional requirement is dictated by the need to provide a device that allows the passage of air between the vehicle and the external environment, but at the same time prevents insects such as mosquitoes or the like from entering the vehicle itself.

[0007] Devices are currently known having two flexible panels, for example acting respectively as a mosquito net and a blackout blind, guided by runners along respective rails.

[0008] The known devices further comprise a winding system which is managed by torsion springs.

[0009] This winding system allows the flexible panels to be wound / unwound onto / from respective rollers.

[0010] The known devices provide a good solution but are certainly not without drawbacks.

[0011] A significant disadvantage of the known devices lies in the fact that the use of torsion springs involves assembly which is not always simple and rapid.

[0012] Another disadvantage of known devices is that they are not always safe for a user, nor practical to use.

[0013] Indeed, the use of torsion springs carries the risk of accelerations during the phase of raising the flexible panels, compromising safety both of the user as well as of the device itself which could be subject to shocks during the sudden rolling up of the flexible panels.

[0014] Another disadvantage of the known devices lies in the fact that they do not always guarantee adequate optimization of the overall dimensions, since they are often made with an excessive number of components.

[0015] The aim of the present invention is therefore to propose a device for covering an opening of a vehicle which is capable of resolving the aforementioned drawbacks of the state of the art.

[0016] Another object of the present invention is to provide a device for covering an opening of a vehicle which is simple and practical to use.

[0017] Another aim of the present invention is to propose a device for covering an opening of a vehicle having a structure capable of optimizing its overall dimensions.

[0018] Another object of the present invention is to provide a device for covering an opening of a vehicle which is simple and quick to assemble.

[0019] According to the present invention, these and other objects are achieved by a device for covering an opening of a vehicle comprising the technical characteristics described in the appended claims.

[0020] The technical characteristics of the invention, according to the aforementioned aims, are clearly described in the appended claims and its advantages emerge from the detailed description which follows, with reference to the appended drawings which illustrate embodiments thereof by way of example and without limitation, in which: [Fig.l] illustrates a schematic front view of a device for covering an opening of a vehicle; [Fig.2] illustrates a schematic front view in side perspective of the device of [Fig.l]; [Fig.3] illustrates a schematic front view in side perspective of the device of [Fig.l]; [Fig.4] illustrates a schematic front view of a device for covering an opening of a vehicle, having a mounted flexible flat element; [Fig.5] illustrates a schematic side view of a device for covering an opening in a vehicle, deprived of some of its components to allow detailed visualization of two spiral springs.

[0021] With reference to the attached figures, reference numeral 1 denotes a device for covering an opening of a vehicle according to the present invention, also hereinafter simply referred to as device 1.

[0022] The device 1 which is the subject of the present invention comprises a support frame 2 which can be fixed to an opening of a vehicle.

[0023] Advantageously, the frame 2 comprises an upper fixing part 21 and a lower fixing part 22, configured to fix the device 1 to the opening of the vehicle.

[0024] The term "opening" means, for example, a small window, a window, a door, a windshield or a porthole.

[0025] By "vehicle" is meant in particular, as indicated in the introductory part of the disclosure, any recreational vehicle, such as a van, mini-van, camper van or van, or any vehicle adapted for leisure and such that it includes a living space.

[0026] With reference to [Fig.4], the device 1 comprises at least one flexible flat element 3.

[0027] According to a first embodiment, the aforementioned flat element 3 is defined by a mosquito net.

[0028] According to another embodiment, the aforementioned flat element 3 is defined by a blackout blind.

[0029] According to a preferred embodiment, the device 1 comprises a mosquito net and a blackout blind.

[0030] Advantageously, the mosquito net and the blackout blind develop parallel to each other.

[0031] The device 1 which is the subject of the present invention comprises an edge profile 4 fixed to a first edge of the flexible element 3.

[0032] This edge profile 4 is intended to translate along a direction D of main development of the device 1 between a closed configuration in which the opening is entirely covered by the flexible flat element 3 (mosquito net and / or blackout blind), and an open configuration in which at least one open section is present on the opening.

[0033] Advantageously, this edge profile 4 is of the metallic type.

[0034] With reference to the attached figures, and in particular to [Fig. 3], the device 1 comprises at least one roller 5 for winding / unwinding the flat element 3.

[0035] The flat element 3 is fixed at its second edge to the aforementioned winding / unwinding roller 5.

[0036] According to the embodiment illustrated in the attached figures, the device 1 comprises a first 52 and a second 53 winding / unwinding rollers.

[0037] The first winding / unwinding roller 52 is configured to wind and unwind the mosquito net.

[0038] The second winding / unwinding roller 53 is configured to wind and unwind the blackout blind.

[0039] The device 1 which is the subject of the present invention comprises a pair of pads 6 fixed on two respective ends 41, 42 of the edge profile 4.

[0040] With reference to the attached figures, the device 1 also comprises a pair of rails 7 for sliding the aforementioned pads 6.

[0041] According to the embodiment illustrated in the attached figures, the device 1 comprises two pairs of pads 6 and two pairs of rails 7.

[0042] Advantageously, the two pairs of rails 7 are arranged parallel to each other so that each pair of rails 7 allows the respective mosquito net or blackout blind to slide.

[0043] Each shoe of the pair of shoes 6 has an internal passage channel counter-profiled relative to the rails of the respective pair of rails 7.

[0044] This allows the sliding of the shoe 6 on the respective rail 7.

[0045] Advantageously, each pad 6 comprises a block 61 movable between a position detached from a respective rail 7, and a position of contact with the respective rail 7 itself.

[0046] Furthermore, advantageously, each pad 6 has two threaded headless screws 62 and two respective screws for securing in screwing / unscrewing with the two threaded headless screws 62.

[0047] These screws are therefore configured to come into abutment with the block 61, so as to adjust its position relative to the respective rail 7.

[0048] In essence, from the moment the screw comes into abutment with the block 61, the further the screw itself is screwed inside the threaded headless screw, the greater the transverse force which pushes the block 61 against the rail 7.

[0049] In other words, the adjustment of the screws inside the threaded headless screw determines the degree of friction between the shoe 6 and the respective rail 7.

[0050] For high values of this degree of friction, the block 61 acts as a brake for the respective pad 6.

[0051] Advantageously, the block 61 has an element made of elastic material intended to be placed between the block 61 itself and the rail 7.

[0052] This element made of elastic material is for example made of rubber.

[0053] This element made of elastic material makes it possible to cushion the contact between the block 61 and the rail 7 to prevent wear of components.

[0054] With reference to [Fig.5], the device 1 which is the subject of the present invention comprises at least one spiral spring 8.

[0055] This spiral spring 8 has an internal end 80 fixed on an external portion 51 of a respective roller 52 or 53, and an external end 81 fixed to the frame 2.

[0056] The spiral spring 8 is intended to be charged when the profile 4 (and in particular the pads 6) slides along a direction D in a downward direction DD, and to be discharged when the profile 4 (and in particular the pads 6) slides along the direction D in an upward direction DR.

[0057] This type of spiral spring 8 allows a constant rise, avoiding abrupt and sudden accelerations which could be risky for a user and for the device 1 itself.

[0058] In substance, this spiral spring 8 is pivotally mounted on the aforementioned outer portion 51 of a respective roller 5.

[0059] According to the embodiment illustrated in [Fig.5], the device 1 comprises a first 82 and a second 83 spiral springs intended to be secured respectively with the first 52 and second 53 winding / unwinding rollers mentioned above.

[0060] The use of this type of spiral spring 8 allows practical and simple mounting of the device 1 and allows optimized use of the overall dimensions.

[0061] The device 1 which is the subject of the present invention also comprises a handle bar (not shown) obtained on the edge profile 4.

[0062] This handle bar allows convenient manual movement of the flat element 3 (i.e. the mosquito net and the blackout blind).

[0063] The device 1 for covering an opening of a vehicle according to the present invention achieves the intended objectives and has significant advantages.

[0064] A first advantage of the device 1 which is the subject of the present invention is given by the fact that it provides a product which is simple and practical to assemble.

[0065] Another advantage of the device 1 which is the subject of the present invention is given by the fact that it provides a product with optimized overall dimensions compared to the state of the art.

[0066] Another advantage of the device 1 which is the subject of the present invention is given by the fact that it guarantees a constant rise of the mosquito net and the blackout blind, avoiding the sudden accelerations typical of known devices comprising torsion springs.

[0067] In doing so, the risk of wear and damage to the components of the device itself is avoided, while ensuring a safer product for a user.
