Description

Title of the invention: Ecological and Biomimetic Energy Generation Device for Natural CO2 Capture and Green Electricity Production

[0001] The invention relates to an environmentally friendly and biomimetic energy generation device based on principles inspired by nature. The device uses an assembly of porous conductive materials to create a tank that promotes electrochemical interaction with microorganisms. The device captures atmospheric CO2, converts it into calcium carbonate through a natural process, and produces electricity through electrochemical and photosynthetic reactions. Optional features such as the use of the Air-Gen effect and materials such as graphene can be integrated to improve energy efficiency. The invention contributes to CO2 reduction while generating clean electricity and can also contribute to the decontamination of groundwater by phosphates and nitrates through the action of microorganisms.

Claims

Claims

1. Porous conductive tank: The tank, composed of a porous conductive material, such as Ordered Mesoporous Carbon (OMC) which can be produced by a green mechanosynthesis process, which can optionally be covered with a graphene film, offers a high exchange surface between the microorganisms present in an aqueous solution contained in the tank, and the ambient air as well as natural light, and promotes photosynthetic activity, electrochemical interactions and electrical conductivity, in particular by regular or constant stirring of the solution making it possible to maximize the overall efficiency of the device.

2. Insulating partition: An insulation of non-conductive material, such as cellulose, divides the wall of the open tank into two parts, with distinct electrical potentials. Each of these parts acts as a solid electrode, facilitating the process of generating electricity via electrochemical reactions.

3. Transparent dome: A transparent dome closes the tank from the top, the latter being flared so as to obtain a larger surface area exposed to natural light at the top of the dome than at the surface of the tank, so as to maximize the quantity of light which reaches the microorganisms present in the tank. At the top of the dome one or more optional Fresnel lenses can participate in the optimization of the photosynthesis process. Inverted polarizing prisms can also be added to the device in order to optimize energy efficiency.

4. Microorganisms: The activities of photosynthetic and electrochemical energy production and CO2 capture and conversion are carried out by the microorganisms present in the tank, such as microalgae or cyanobacteria, which may optionally be in symbiosis with other living organisms, such as the fungal kingdom, to constitute, for example, lichen in order to optimize the total efficiency of the device.

5. Production of Calcium Carbonate: The invention also promotes the production of calcium carbonate from the natural oxidation of organic compounds produced by microorganisms, and Calcium (Ca2+) and Hydrogen Carbonate (HC03-) ions naturally present in water, while maintaining the calcium-carbonic balance, thus contributing to ecological carbon fixation and the reduction of CO2 emissions. Calcium carbonate can be recovered from the device for human use or for ecological use by marine fauna for example.
