Abstract

A beehive roof device for providing water, heat, or coolness to a bee colony. The invention is based on extracting water from the air using Peltier modules (2a) powered by solar panels (1) via supercapacitors (7). Condensation on the Peltier modules is conveyed from the top of the beehive roof into the hive through cannulas (4). Peltier effect modules (2b) located near the bees provide heat and coolness to the colony.

Description

Title of the invention: Beehive roof

[0001] Hive roof device promoting the spread of Apis Mellifera.

[0002] To grow, a bee needs nectar, pollen, and water. The hive roof presented in this document provides a permanent water source within the colony.

[0003] The device is based on the principle of the Peltier effect, which makes it possible to generate a cold surface at

[0004] the interior of the hive roof, thus causing condensation of the ambient air. The water in the air condenses on the Peltier effect modules (2a) and is then conveyed inside the hive through cannulas (4). Ventilation in the upper part of the hive roof (3) is essential.

[0005] The Peltier modules near the bees (2b) will provide heat or refrigeration and water. While those in the upper part (2a) will be dedicated solely to water production. The latter will be isolated from the brood (5).

[0006] This aluminum hive roof can be adapted to all existing or future hive models.

[0007] The use of supercapacitors (7) associated with the photovoltaic solar panels (1) will allow long-term operation of the Peltier effect modules (2a and 2b). At least for the lifetime of the solar panels that will power it.

[0008] This water resource, previously inaccessible to bees, will enable the development of beekeeping at high altitudes or during periods of drought.
