Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Cleaning device for a motor vehicle, motor vehicle and associated control method
[0001] The present invention falls within the field of devices for cleaning motor vehicle equipment.
[0002] Motor vehicles include cleaning devices for cleaning an exterior surface of the motor vehicle, including the windshield of the vehicle.
[0003] These cleaning devices generally comprise a device for spraying a cleaning liquid and a wiping device comprising at least one wiper blade arranged on a wiping arm driven between a low position and a high position of the windshield and making it possible to wipe away the mud formed by the mixture of the cleaning liquid and the particles or elements present on the surface to be cleaned.
[0004] In the presence of a significant quantity of particles or elements, the sludge can concentrate at the turning positions of the wiper blade and in particular at the high turning position to form an agglomerate.
[0005] However, this agglomerate can be re-spread on the windshield by the wiper blade during its successive passes, which can then lead to a reduction in visibility for the driver of the motor vehicle.
[0006] It is therefore appropriate to find a solution making it possible to improve the efficiency of a cleaning device comprising a cleaning cycle in which a cleaning liquid is sprayed followed by one or more wiping cycles.
[0007] To this end, the present invention relates to a cleaning device for a motor vehicle comprising: - at least one wiper blade, - an electric motor configured to drive the wiper blade via a drive mechanism, - a device for projecting a cleaning liquid, wherein the electric motor is an electronized motor and in that in response to a cleaning command, the cleaning device is configured to apply a cleaning program comprising a cleaning cycle with projection of cleaning liquid and at least one subsequent wiping cycle in which the sweeping amplitude of the wiper blade during the cleaning cycle is greater than that of the at least one subsequent wiping cycle.
[0008] Applying a cleaning cycle with a greater sweep amplitude than compared to the sweeping of the subsequent wiping cycle(s) makes it possible to avoid re-spreading the sludge pushed during the cleaning cycle during the subsequent wiping cycles and thus obtain more effective cleaning.
[0009] According to another aspect of the present invention, the cleaning device is configured to apply, in response to a cleaning command: - a cleaning cycle in which the electric motor is configured to drive the wiper blade between a first high turning position and a first low turning position and in which the projection device is configured to project cleaning liquid during at least part of the cleaning cycle and, - at least one wiping cycle in which the electric motor is configured to drive the wiper blade between a second high turning position and a second low turning position, at least one of the second upper flip position or the second lower flip position is offset from the first upper flip position or the first lower flip position respectively such that the surface wiped by the wiper blade during the wiping cycle is less than the surface wiped by the wiper blade during the cleaning cycle.
[0010] Applying a cleaning cycle with at least one high or low turn position eccentric to an additional cleaning cycle or subsequent wiping cycles avoids re-spreading sludge pushed during the cleaning cycle during subsequent cycles.
[0011] According to another aspect of the present invention, in response to the cleaning command, the cleaning device is also configured to apply, after the cleaning cycle, an additional cleaning cycle in which the electric motor is configured to drive the wiper blade between a third high turning position and a third low turning position and in which the projection device is configured to project cleaning liquid during at least a part of the additional cleaning cycle, the third high turning position being located between the first high turning position inclusive and the second high turning position inclusive and the third low turning position being located between the first low turning position inclusive and the second low turning position inclusive.
[0012] According to another aspect of the present invention, the cleaning device is also configured to, once the at least one cleaning cycle and the at least one wiping cycle are performed, repeat the at least one cleaning cycle and the at least one wiping cycle.
[0013] Advantageously, the cleaning device is configured to mark a time stopping between the execution of the first set of cleaning and wiping cycles and the subsequent set of cleaning and wiping cycles.
[0014] According to another aspect of the present invention, the location of the first and second high turning positions is determined as a function of the speed of movement of the motor vehicle and / or the geometry of the windshield.
[0015] According to another aspect of the present invention, the electric motor is configured to drive the wiper blade at a first movement speed during the cleaning cycle and at a second movement speed, greater than the first movement speed, during the wiping cycle.
[0016] According to another aspect of the present invention, the first travel speed is determined as a function of the travel speed of the motor vehicle.
[0017] According to another aspect of the present invention, the first speed of movement of the wiper blade is all the lower the lower the speed of movement of the motor vehicle.
[0018] According to another aspect of the present invention, the first speed of movement of the wiper blade is between 30 and 40 cycles per minute, in particular 35 cycles per minute when the speed of the vehicle is zero or lower than a predetermined speed.
[0019] According to another aspect of the present invention, the device for projecting a cleaning liquid comprises at least one projection nozzle arranged on a wiping arm or on the wiping blade and configured to project cleaning liquid on the high side of the wiping blade, said device for projecting a cleaning liquid being configured to project cleaning liquid via the at least one nozzle, during the cleaning cycle when the wiping blade is moved from the first low turning position to the first high turning position.
[0020] The present invention also relates to a motor vehicle comprising a cleaning device as described above.
[0021] The present invention also relates to a method of controlling a cleaning device comprising at least one wiper blade, wherein the cleaning comprises applying - a cleaning cycle in which the wiper blade is driven between a first high turning position and a first low turning position and in which cleaning liquid is sprayed onto the outer surface during at least part of the cleaning cycle and, - at least one wiping cycle in which the wiper blade is driven between a second high turning position and a second low turning position, at least one of the second high turn position or the second low turnaround position is offset from the first high turnaround position or the first low turnaround position respectively so that the surface area wiped by the wiper blade during the wiping cycle is less than the surface area wiped by the wiper blade during the cleaning cycle.
[0022] According to another aspect of the present invention, the control method also comprises applying, after the cleaning cycle, a further cleaning cycle in which the wiper blade is driven between a third high turning position and a third low turning position and in which cleaning liquid is sprayed onto the outer surface during at least a portion of the further cleaning cycle, the third high turning position being located between the first high turning position inclusive and the second high turning position inclusive and the third low turning position being located between the first low turning position inclusive and the second low turning position inclusive.

[0029] In these figures, identical elements bear the same references.
[0030] The following embodiments are examples. Although the description refers to one or more embodiments, this does not necessarily mean that each reference relates to the same embodiment, or that the features apply only to a single embodiment. Single features of different embodiments may also be combined or interchanged to provide other embodiments.
[0031] The present invention relates to a cleaning device for a motor vehicle, in particular for motor vehicle windshields but the invention can also be applied to other optical devices of the motor vehicle.
[0032] [Fig. 1] represents an exemplary embodiment of a cleaning device 1 comprising a wiper blade 3. The number of wiper blades 3 may be different, in particular two wiper blades 3. The cleaning device 1 also comprises an electric motor 5 and a drive mechanism, comprising for example one or more arms 7 and a linkage, the mechanism being configured to drive the wiper blade 3 in a back and forth movement between predetermined positions from the rotational movement of the electric motor 5.
[0033] Furthermore, the electric motor 5 is an electronized motor whose control makes it possible to vary the angular extent of the movement of the wiper blade 3 (modification of the turning positions of the wiper blade 3) as well as the speed of movement of the wiper blade 3.
[0034] The cleaning device 1 also comprises a device 9 for spraying a cleaning liquid. In the example of [Fig. 1], the spraying device 9 comprises a spraying nozzle arranged on the arm 7 and configured to spray the cleaning liquid on a first side (top side) of the wiper blade 3 but other configurations are also possible such as a spraying device comprising one or more spraying nozzles arranged directly on the wiper blade 3 and allowing projection on one or both sides of the wiper blade or such as a spraying device comprising one or more spraying nozzles arranged under the surface to be cleaned, here under the windshield 11, for example at the hood of the vehicle.
[0035] Different positions of the wiper blade 3 are also represented in [Fig.l] by dotted lines.
[0036] A stop position denoted DPP located at the bottom of the windshield 11 in which the wiper blade 3 is positioned when the cleaning device 1 is deactivated and no wiping is required. [Fig.l] also represents the low turning position denoted IW and the high turning position denoted OW corresponding to the turning positions of the wiper blade 3 during a standard wiping mode, for example in the case of rain.
[0037] [Fig. 2] represents a diagram showing the movement of the wiper blade 3 (represented by the curve Cb) over the time t during a standard wiping operation comprising three wiping cycles denoted C1, C2 and C3 (one cycle corresponding to a round trip between the positions IW and OW). When activating the wiping mode, the wiper blade is moved from the rest position DPP to the high turning position OW (via the low turning position IW) and then returns to the low turning position IW which marks the transition to the first cycle wiping blade cl to the second wiping cycle c2. At the end of the three wiping cycles cl, c2 and c3, the wiper blade 3 is repositioned in the rest position DPP. A so-called over-angle position and noted SA in [Fig.l] corresponds to the angular position not to be exceeded by the wiper blade to prevent the wiper blade from touching a side pillar defining the edge of the windshield 11.
[0038] In addition, a wiping speed can be defined (this speed varies during a cycle since it is zero when passing through the turning positions but the speed here corresponds to the time necessary to carry out a wiping cycle or more precisely the number of cycles carried out in a time interval), for example 40 cycles per minute. The wiping speed is generally adapted according to the quantity of water detected by a rain detector. Furthermore, a minimum speed is generally required by the standards associated with vehicle regulations. This minimum speed may depend on the speed of movement of the vehicle.
[0039] The cleaning device 1 also comprises a cleaning program activated when a cleaning command is received by the cleaning device 1. This cleaning command corresponds for example to a command from a user such as pressing a control button or a touch surface, moving a control lever, rotating a control button or any other type of manual or voice command.
[0040] The cleaning command may also be generated automatically by a processing unit of the motor vehicle. The motor vehicle may, for example, be equipped with an optical detector configured to detect the presence of particles or dirt on the windshield and to generate a cleaning command to the cleaning device 1 in the event of detection of such particles or dirt.
[0041] Thus, in response to receiving a cleaning command, the cleaning device 1 is configured to apply a cleaning program comprising different cycles.
[0042] [Fig. 3] represents an example of a diagram representing the movement of the wiper blade over time t during a cleaning program according to a first embodiment variant.
[0043] The cleaning program comprises a cleaning cycle denoted ni in which the electric motor 5 is configured to drive the wiper blade 3 between a first high turning position denoted OW1 and a first low turning position denoted IWL
[0044] In the embodiment of [Fig. 3], the first high turning position OW 1 corresponds to a position located between the high turning position OW of Figures 1 and 2 and the over-angle position SA of Figures 1 and 2. The first position of high reversal OW1 can notably correspond to the over-angle position SA as shown in [Fig.3].
[0045] The first low turning position IW1 corresponds to the re position low IW rotation of figures 1 and 2.
[0046] Alternatively, according to a second embodiment, the first low turning position IW 1 is located between the rest position DPP and the low turning position IW as shown in [Fig.4] or, according to a third embodiment, can correspond to the position DPP as shown in [Fig.5].
[0047] Furthermore, during at least part of the first cleaning cycle ni, the projection device 1 is configured to project cleaning liquid, for example via the projection nozzle 9. The time interval corresponding to the projection of the cleaning liquid during the first cycle ni is noted pl in [Fig.3].
[0048] The cleaning program may also comprise an additional cleaning cycle denoted n2 following the first cleaning cycle ni in which the electric motor 5 is configured to drive the wiper blade 3 between a third high turning position corresponding here to the second high turning position denoted OW2 and a third low turning position corresponding here to the second low turning position denoted IW2.
[0049] The second high turning position OW2 is located between the first high turning position OW1 and the high turning position OW of Figures 1 and 2 (inclusive) and corresponds for example to the position OW.
[0050] The second low turning position IW2 is located between the rest position DPP and the low turning position IW of Figures 1 and 2 (inclusive).
[0051] The three positions IW, IW 1 and IW2 are for example merged as in the case of [Fig.3].
[0052] Alternatively, the third high turning position may be different from the second high turning position OW2 and may be located between the first OW 1 and the second OW2 high turning position. Similarly, the third low turning position may be different from the second low turning position IW2 and may be located between the first IW 1 and the second IW2 low turning position.
[0053] The projection device 1 is configured to project cleaning liquid during at least part of the second cleaning cycle n2, for example during the time interval noted p2.
[0054] Other additional cleaning cycles similar to the second cleaning cycle n2 (or with a further reduced cleaning amplitude) may also be applied.
[0055] The cleaning program also includes at least one wiping cycle noted el (two wiping cycles in this case denoted el and e2) subsequent to the cleaning cycle(s) ni, n2 in which the electric motor 5 is configured to drive the wiper blade 3 between the second high turning position OW2 defined previously and the second low turning position IW2 defined previously. These positions correspond for example to the high turning positions OW and low turning positions IW of figures 1 and 2.
[0056] These wiping cycles e1 and e2 follow the cleaning cycle(s) ni, n2 and no cleaning liquid is sprayed during these wiping cycles e1 and e2. The number of wiping cycles may be different, for example one or three.
[0057] According to a fourth variant embodiment shown in dotted lines in [Fig. 5], the cleaning program comprises a cleaning cycle denoted ni' in which the electric motor 5 is configured to drive the wiper blade 3 between a first high turning position denoted OW1' and a first low turning position denoted IW 1 '.
[0058] The first high turning position OW 1 ' corresponds to the high turning position OW of Figures 1 and 2. The first low turning position IWl' corresponds to the low turning position IW of Figures 1 and 2.
[0059] The cleaning program may also include an additional cleaning cycle denoted n2' following the first cleaning cycle ni in which the electric motor 5 is configured to drive the wiper blade 3 between a second high turning position denoted OW2' and a second low turning position denoted IW2'.
[0060] The second high turning position OW2' is located before the first high turning position OW1' (i.e. so as to reduce the wiping surface compared to the first high turning position OW1').
[0061] The second low turning position IW2' is merged with the first low turning position IW1'.
[0062] Alternatively, the second low turning position IW2' may be located above the first low turning position IW1' (i.e. so as to reduce the wiping surface compared to the first low turning position IW1').
[0063] The cleaning program also comprises at least one wiping cycle denoted e1 (two wiping cycles in the present case denoted e1 and e2) in which the electric motor 5 is configured to drive the wiper blade 3 between the second high turning position OW2' and the second low turning position IW2' which have been defined previously.
[0064] The fourth embodiment variant can be chosen when the speed of movement of the vehicle is greater than a predetermined speed, for example 80 km / h so as to maintain an over-angle when applying the cleaning cycle and thus prevent the wiper blade 3 from coming into contact with a side pillar of the vehicle delimiting the windshield 11.
[0065] According to other embodiment variants not shown, the high and low turning positions during the wiping cycles may be different from the high and low turning positions of the additional cleaning cycle so that the wiping surface is reduced during the wiping cycles compared to the additional cleaning cycle.
[0066] Furthermore, the speed of movement of the wiper blade(s) may vary during the different cycles. In particular, the speed of movement of the blade may be reduced during the first cleaning cycle so as to allow more efficient cleaning of the sludge.
[0067] This reduction in the speed of movement of the brush during the first cleaning cycle may be conditioned by a maximum speed of movement of the vehicle. Indeed, a reduced speed of movement of the brush may lead to reduced visibility for the driver of the vehicle in the event of the presence of mud on the windshield. However, in the event of reduced speed or even zero speed, this reduction in visibility may not be a problem.
[0068] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the speed of movement of the wiper blade is between 30 and 40 cycles per minute, for example equal to 35 cycles per minute, during the first cleaning cycle and then 40 cycles per minute during the following cleaning or wiping cycles. Other speed values can be chosen and different speeds can be used for the different cycles, for example four different speeds for the four cycles.
[0069] Thus, the use of different high and / or low turning positions during the different cycles so as to reduce the wiping surface or amplitude during the successive cycles makes it possible to push the sludge out of a first wiping zone during the first cleaning cycle and to reduce the wiping to a second wiping zone or surface during the following cycles so as to reduce or even eliminate the re-spreading of the sludge in the second wiping zone, i.e. in the driver's vision zone.
[0070] The reduction of the wiping area can be done only at the high turning position or also at the low turning position.
[0071] In addition, using a reduced wiper blade speed during the first cleaning cycle allows for more efficient spraying of cleaning liquid and wiping.
[0072] The present invention also relates to a motor vehicle comprising a cleaning device 1 as described previously.
[0073] The present invention also relates to a method for controlling a cleaning device 1 as described previously.
[0074] The control method comprises a cleaning program. The cleaning program is launched, for example, following receipt of a cleaning command chosen by a user of the motor vehicle, such as by pressing a button or a control surface or via a voice command.
[0075] The cleaning program comprises the application of a cleaning cycle ni in which the wiper blade 3 is driven between a first high turning position OW1, OWT and a first low turning position IW1, IWT and in which cleaning liquid is sprayed onto the outer surface during at least part of the cleaning cycle ni. The spraying of the cleaning liquid is for example carried out via a spray nozzle arranged on an arm 7 or a wiper blade 3 of the cleaning device 1.
[0076] The speed of the wiping arm 7 during the cleaning cycle can be adjusted to a first value, for example 35 cycles per minute, this speed being able to depend on the speed of movement of the vehicle.
[0077] The cleaning program may also comprise the application, after the cleaning cycle n1, of one or more additional cleaning cycles n2 in which the wiper blade 3 is driven between a third high turning position and a third low turning position and in which cleaning liquid is sprayed onto the outer surface during at least part of the additional cleaning cycle n2. The third high turning position is located between the first high turning position OW1, OW1' inclusive and the second high turning position OW2, OW2' inclusive and the third low turning position is located between the first low turning position IW1, IW1' inclusive and the second low turning position IW2, IW2' inclusive. In the examples of Figures 3 to 5, the third high turning position corresponds to the second high turning position OW2, OW2' and the third low turning position corresponds to the second low turning position IW2, IW2'.
[0078] The speed of the wiping arm 7 during the additional cleaning cycle n2 can be adjusted to a second value greater than the first value, for example 40 cycles per minute.
[0079] The cleaning program also comprises at least one wiping cycle e1, e2 in which the wiper blade 3 is driven between a second high turning position OW2, OW2' and a second low turning position IW2, IW2'. At least one of the second high turning position OW2, OW2' or the second low turning position IW2, IW2' is offset relative to respectively the first high turning position OW1, OW1' or the first low turning position IW1, IW1' so that the surface wiped by the wiper blade 3 during the wiping cycle e1, e2 is less than the surface wiped by the wiper blade 3 during the cleaning cycle ni. In the examples of figures 3 to 5, the number of wiping cycles is two but a different number of wiping cycles, for example 1 or 3 is also possible.
[0080] The speed of the wiping arm 7 during the cycle of the wiping cycle(s) e1, e2 can be adjusted to the second value or even to a third value greater than the second value, for example 42 cycles per minute.
[0081] The upper and lower turning positions of the various cleaning, additional cleaning and wiping cycles as well as the speeds of movement of the wiper blade during these cycles can be chosen as a function of the speed of the motor vehicle. A reduced or even zero speed allows turning positions more offset towards the outside of the wiping zone and lower speeds of movement of the wiper blade because the driver's visibility can be reduced for a longer period of time.
[0082] Such a control method allows effective cleaning of a surface such as a windshield 11 even in the presence of sludge because the cleaning cycle allows, due to its reduced speed and its high and / or low turning positions shifted outwards (greater wiping amplitude), to push the sludge out of a central zone. In addition, the use of high and / or low turning positions shifted inwards (smaller wiping amplitude) for the additional cleaning cycle(s) or the following wiping cycles makes it possible not to re-spread the sludge in the central zone, which contributes to improving the quality of the cleaning and therefore the visibility of the users. This therefore makes it possible to improve the comfort of the users of the vehicle as well as their safety.
[0083] According to another variant not illustrated, it is possible that the control method once the at least one cleaning cycle ni, n2 and the at least one wiping cycle el, e2 have been carried out, the wiping device repeats the cleaning cycle or cycles and the wiping cycle or cycles. This makes it possible to maximize the cleaning efficiency in situations where the glass surface has particularly dense or stubborn dirt. Advantageously, the method marks a stop time between the execution of the first and second sets of cleaning and wiping cycles, without the wiper descending beyond the position IW. This stop time allows any residual washing liquid to flow down the glass surface, and therefore to avoid spreading dirt during the execution of a second set of washing and wiping cycles.
[0084] The stopping time may vary but normally lasts only a few seconds, for example 3 to 5 seconds. Once all the cycles have been completed, the wiper wiper can be returned to the DPP off position, as described above, and the wiper device switched off or returned to standby.
