Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Method and device for controlling a vehicle route based on the occupancy of the parking space at the destination Technical field
[0001] The present invention relates to methods and devices for controlling a journey of a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle. The present invention also relates to a method and a device for determining a journey as a function of an index of ease or availability of parking at the destination of a journey of a vehicle. Technological background
[0002] To plan a journey to be made with a vehicle, it is known to use a navigation system, such a system being for example embedded in the vehicle or implemented in a mobile device, for example a mobile telephone, itself embedded in the vehicle. Such a system uses map data such as digital road maps indicating the different road routes that the vehicle can take to go from a starting point to an arrival point.
[0003] These map data are for example used to offer a driver the shortest, fastest, most economical route or the one that does not take a fast lane, etc. They can also be used by certain functions or driving assistance systems, called AD AS (from the English “Advanced Driver-Assistance System” or in French “Advanced Driving Assistance System”), to guide or control the vehicle in its environment to reach its destination.
[0004] Once you have arrived at your destination with your vehicle, it is sometimes difficult to find a parking space to park your vehicle and then get to your destination. However, this difficulty varies depending on the destination. In fact, it is often more difficult to find a parking space in a city center than in a rural area.
[0005] A driver of a vehicle sometimes anticipates the difficulty of parking the vehicle at its destination, for example by anticipating its departure to have enough time to find a parking space.
[0006] If the driver fails to plan ahead and is unable to find a space quickly, he risks arriving late for his appointment. Summary of the present invention
[0007] An object of the present invention is to solve at least one of the drawbacks of the technological background.
[0008] Another object of the present invention is to improve the determination of a path for a vehicle.
[0009] Another object of the present invention is to improve parking assistance for a vehicle.
[0010] According to a first aspect, the present invention relates to a method for controlling a journey of a vehicle, the method comprising the following steps: - reception of first data representative of a first road route between a starting geographical position and an arrival geographical position; - determination of a parking occupancy value associated with the geographical position of arrival based on statistical parking occupancy data; - comparison of the parking occupancy value with a threshold value; - determination of a geographical position of a parking lot based on the geographical position of arrival and based on a result of the comparison; - determination of a second road route between the geographical starting position and the geographical arrival position passing through the geographical position of the car park, a first part of the second road route being determined between the geographical starting position and the geographical position of the car park and a second part of the second road route being determined between the geographical position of the car park and the geographical arrival position; - control of the vehicle's route based on the first part of the second route.
[0011] Such a method makes it possible to determine a second route allowing the vehicle to be parked easily by offering a parking lot. A driver of the vehicle is then able to know an overall travel time associated with the second route including parking the vehicle in a parking lot, thus controlling his arrival time at the geographical arrival position.
[0012] According to a variant of the method, the geographical position of a parking lot is determined when the occupancy value is greater than the threshold value.
[0013] According to another variant, the method further comprises a display control of a graphic object on a touch screen when the geographical position of the parking lot is determined.
[0014] According to another variant of the method, the determination of the second route is triggered by receiving second data representative of a tactile press on the graphic object.
[0015] According to an additional variant, the method further comprises a step of selecting the parking lot from a set of parking lots as a function of a distance between a geographical position of each parking lot in the set of parking lots and the geographical position of the arrival point.
[0016] According to yet another variant, the method comprises a step of transmitting third data representative of the second part of the second route to a mobile communication device.
[0017] According to a second aspect, the present invention relates to a computer program which comprises instructions adapted for executing the steps of the method according to the first aspect of the present invention, in particular when the computer program is executed by at least one processor.
[0018] According to a second aspect, the present invention relates to a device for controlling a journey of a vehicle, the device comprising a memory associated with a processor configured for implementing the steps of the method according to the first aspect of the present invention.
[0019] According to a third aspect, the present invention relates to a vehicle, for example of the automobile type, comprising a device as described above according to the second aspect of the present invention.
[0020] According to a fourth aspect, the present invention relates to a computer program which comprises instructions adapted for executing the steps of the method according to the first aspect of the present invention, in particular when the computer program is executed by at least one processor.
[0021] Such a computer program may use any programming language, and be in the form of source code, object code, or intermediate code between source code and object code, such as in a partially compiled form, or in any other desirable form.
[0022] According to a fifth aspect, the present invention relates to a computer-readable recording medium on which is recorded a computer program comprising instructions for carrying out the steps of the method according to the first aspect of the present invention.
[0023] On the one hand, the recording medium may be any entity or device capable of storing the program. For example, the medium may comprise a storage means, such as a ROM memory, a RAM memory, a CD-ROM or a microelectronic circuit type ROM memory, or a magnetic recording means or a hard disk.
[0024] Furthermore, this recording medium may also be a transmissible medium such as an electrical or optical signal, such a signal being able to be conveyed via an electrical or optical cable, by conventional or hertzian radio or by self-directed laser beam or by other means. The computer program according to the present invention may in particular be downloaded from an Internet-type network.
[0025] Alternatively, the recording medium may be an integrated circuit in which the computer program is incorporated, the integrated circuit being adapted to execute or for use in carrying out the process in question. Brief description of the figures

[0030] A method and a device for controlling a vehicle path will now be described in the following with joint reference to Figures 1 to 3. The same elements are identified with the same reference signs throughout the description which follows.
[0031] The terms "first(s)", "second(s)" (or "first(s)", "second(s)"), etc. are used in this document by arbitrary convention to enable different elements (such as operations, means, etc.) implemented in the embodiments described below to be identified and distinguished. Such elements may be distinct or correspond to a single element, depending on the embodiment.
[0032] According to a particular and non-limiting embodiment of the present invention, the control of a journey of a vehicle is for example implemented by a computer of the vehicle or a processor of a mobile communication device.
[0033] For this purpose, the method comprises receiving first data representative of a first road route between a starting geographical position and an arrival geographical position, determining a parking occupancy value associated with the arrival geographical position and comparing the parking occupancy value to a threshold value.
[0034] A geographical position of a parking lot is then determined as a function of the geographical position of arrival and as a function of a result of the comparison of the parking occupancy value with a threshold value and a second road route is determined between the geographical position of departure and the geographical position of arrival passing through the geographical position of the parking lot.
[0035] The path of the vehicle is then controlled according to a first part of the second road route determined between the starting geographical position and the geographical position of the parking lot.
[0036] [Fig. 1] schematically illustrates an environment 1 in which a vehicle operates, according to a particular and non-limiting exemplary embodiment of the present invention.
[0037] The vehicle 10 corresponds for example to a vehicle with a thermal engine, with electric motor(s) or even a hybrid vehicle with a thermal engine and one or more electric motors. The vehicle 10 thus corresponds for example to a land vehicle, for example a car, a truck, a bus.
[0038] According to a first particular embodiment, the vehicle 10 carries one or more AD AS systems each controlled by one or more computers. These computers form, for example, a multiplexed architecture for the realization of different services useful for the proper functioning of the vehicle and for assisting the driver and / or the passengers of the vehicle in the control of the vehicle 10 via the control of the AD AS system(s) carried in the vehicle 10.The computers communicate and exchange data with each other via one or more computer buses, for example a communication bus of the data bus type CAN (from the English "Controller Area Network" or in French "Réseau de contrôles"), CAN FD (from the English "Controller Area Network Flexible Data-Rate" or in French "Réseau de contrôles à débit de données flexible"), FlexRay (according to the ISO 17458 standard), LIN (from the English "Local Interconnect Network" or in French "Réseau interconnecté local") or Ethernet (according to the ISO / IEC 802-3 standard).
[0039] The vehicle 10 carries a navigation and geolocation system, also called a GNSS system (Geolocation and Navigation by a Satellite System), for example a GPS type system (from the English “Global Positioning System” or in French “Geo-positioning system by satellites”).
[0040] According to a second particular embodiment, a user, for example the driver or a passenger of the vehicle 10, has a mobile communication device 11, for example a tablet or a smart mobile phone (from the English “smartphone”).
[0041] The vehicle 10 is also configured to communicate (receive and / or transmit) data with other vehicles, the mobile communication device and / or an infrastructure of a communication network according to a wireless communication mode, called V2X.
[0042] For this purpose, the vehicle 10 carries a communication device corresponding for example to a telematic control unit, called TCU (from the English “Telematic Control Unit”) associated with one or more antennas.
[0043] The environment 1 of the vehicle 10 comprises for example a communications infrastructure mobile communication, for example an infrastructure of a V2X (Vehicle-to-everything) type network, with which the vehicle 10 is configured to communicate data. The communication infrastructure implements, for example, communications according to LTE (Long-Term Evolution), LTE-Advanced (Long-Term Evolution - Advanced), C-V2X (Cellular - Vehicle to Everything) technology which is based on 4G and / or 5G, based on LTE. The vehicle 10 advantageously communicates using a so-called V2X communication system, for example based on the 3GPP LTE-V or IEEE 802.1 lp standards of ITS G5.In such a V2X communication system, each vehicle carries a node to enable vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) and / or vehicle-to-pedestrian (V2P) communication.
[0044] The network infrastructure comprises, for example, communication devices 110 corresponding to relay antennas and / or roadside units (RUs), each corresponding to a node of the network.
[0045] The antenna or UBR 110 is advantageously connected to one or more remote servers 111, for example via the “cloud” 100 (or in French “nuage”), via a wired and / or wireless connection. The antenna or UBR 110 is thus configured to act as a relay between the “cloud” 100 (and the remote server 111) and the vehicle 10.
[0046] The vehicle 10, for example, advantageously incorporates in its passenger compartment 10 a display system comprising a screen and a computer configured to control the display of content(s) of a graphical HMI on the touch screen. The computer corresponds, for example, to the computer of the infotainment system, called the IVI computer (from the English “In-Vehicle Infotainment” or in French “Infodivertissement embargo”) of the vehicle 10.
[0047] The screen is for example touch-sensitive and corresponds for example to an LCD type screen (from the English "Liquid Crystal Display" or in French "Display à cristals liquide"), for example of the TFT type (from the English "Thin-Film Transistor" or in French "Transistor en film mince"), or OLED type (from the English "Organic Light-Emitting Diode" or in French "Diode électroluminescente biologique"). The screen is for example arranged in the center of the dashboard, for example above a central facade. Of course, the position of the screen is not limited to this example, the screen can be arranged in any position, for example on the central facade.
[0048] The screen allows content to be displayed to the driver and passengers of the vehicle. The screen is also configured to allow the driver and / or passengers passengers of the vehicle to interact with one or more systems embedded in the vehicle via a human-machine interface (HMI) displayed on the screen. For example, the screen makes it possible to control the infotainment system, also called IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment) system of the vehicle, as well as for example the system responsible for controlling a journey of the vehicle 10, as described below.
[0049] According to another example, not illustrated here, the screen is not integrated into the passenger compartment but corresponds to a screen of the mobile communication device 11, such as a smartphone or a tablet, connected in communication, for example wirelessly, with the on-board system of the vehicle.
[0050] According to a first particular embodiment, a process for controlling a journey of the vehicle 10 is advantageously implemented by one or more processors of one or more computers of the vehicle 10.
[0051] According to a second particular embodiment, a process for controlling a journey of the vehicle 10 is advantageously implemented by one or more processors of the mobile communication device.
[0052] A user enters, for example, via the HMI, the geographical coordinates of a starting point and an arrival point of a journey of the vehicle 10. The starting point is, for example, the place where the user or the vehicle 10 is located.
[0053] According to a particular exemplary embodiment, a starting geographical position D and an arrival geographical position A are entered by a user via a human-machine interface, for example via a touch screen on board the vehicle 10.
[0054] These geographic positions are presented, for example, in the form of coordinates such as latitude and longitude, postal addresses, or locations of points of interest.
[0055] The geographical positions of departure D and arrival A are, for example, accessible via a road network used by the vehicle 10.
[0056] A first road route 120 is then determined by a navigation system, making it possible to link the starting geographical position D to the arrival geographical position A. First data representative of this first road route 120 are then transmitted, for example to the computer implementing this process.
[0057] In a first operation, the first data representative of the first road route 120 between the starting geographical position D and the arrival geographical position A are received.
[0058] In a second operation, a parking occupancy value associated with the arrival geographical position A is determined based on statistical data parking occupancy.
[0059] Such statistical parking data are for example recorded in a memory, for example in a memory associated with the navigation system in which a map is recorded. The occupancy value is then determined by cross-referencing the geographical position of arrival A with the statistical parking data.
[0060] According to another example, the parking occupancy data are recorded in a remote server 111, which is then interrogated by the system in charge of the process, for example by transmitting the geographical position of arrival A to the remote server 111 via a wireless link and then receiving the parking occupancy value associated with the geographical position of arrival A determined by the remote server 111 and transmitted by this same remote server 111.
[0061] The parking occupancy value associated with the geographical position of arrival A is, for example, an occupancy rate of the parking spaces located in the immediate vicinity of the geographical position of arrival A, expressed as a percentage (%). Such a rate is, for example, defined by the following formula: occupancy rate = number of vehicles in legal parking spaces / number of legal parking spaces.
[0062] According to another example, the occupancy value is determined from an average search time for an available space. A search time is for example defined as the time elapsed between the time instant at which a vehicle arrives at its destination and the time instant at which this vehicle is parked.
[0063] Such data are then statistical and obtained from observations made previously, for example by town planning departments or from data collected from navigation systems or applications.
[0064] According to a particular exemplary embodiment, the occupancy value is determined as a function of a time slot, for example as a function of a day and a time. The time slot is in particular determined as a function of a travel time of the first road route 120 and a departure time, the departure time being for example the current time or a planned time.
[0065] In a third operation, the parking occupancy value is compared to a threshold value.
[0066] Such a threshold value represents, for example, the ease or difficulty of parking the vehicle 10 near the geographical position of arrival A. The proximity of the geographical position of arrival A is, for example, defined as a street corresponding to the geographical position of arrival A, or as all the parking spaces included within a radius around the geographical position of the point of arrival A, for example within a radius of 50m, 100m or 500m.
[0067] The threshold value is for example equal to 80%, 90% or 95%, a high rate representing great difficulty in parking.
[0068] In a fourth operation, a geographical position of a parking lot P is determined as a function of the geographical position of arrival A and as a function of a result of the comparison.
[0069] According to an exemplary embodiment, the geographical position of the parking lot P is determined when the occupancy value is greater than the threshold value.
[0070] The parking lot is for example selected from a set of parking lots according to a distance between a geographical position of each parking lot in this set and the geographical position of the arrival point A. For example, the selected parking lot is the parking lot closest to the geographical arrival position A.
[0071] According to other exemplary embodiments, the parking lot is for example selected from a set of parking lots according to several parameters such as: - a distance between a geographical position of each parking lot in this set and the geographical position of the arrival point A, and / or - a number of spaces available for each parking lot, and / or - a rate associated with each parking lot.
[0072] The geographical positions of the car parks as well as data necessary for determining the other parameters are for example received from a remote server 111 or recorded in a memory accessible to the navigation system.
[0073] According to a particular embodiment, in a fifth operation, a graphic object is displayed on a touch screen of the HMI when the geographical position of the parking lot P is determined. Such a graphic object represents for example a red letter “P”, thus warning a user of the difficulty he will encounter in parking the vehicle 10 when he arrives at the destination, that is to say at the geographical position of arrival A. The user is thus able to trigger, by a touch on the graphic object, a determination of a second route including the geographical position of the parking lot P as a step, thus allowing him to park the vehicle 10 more easily before arriving at the geographical position of arrival A. In a sixth operation, the second data representative of a touch on the graphic object are then received by the computer, triggering the determination of the second road route.
[0074] In a seventh operation, the second road route is determined between the starting geographical position D and the arrival geographical position A via the geographical position of the parking lot P. A first part 121a of the second road route is determined between the starting geographical position D and the geographical position of the parking lot P and a second part 121b of the second road route is determined between the geographical position of the parking lot P and the geographical position of arrival A.
[0075] The first part 121a is to be traveled on board the vehicle 10 while the second part is, for example, to be traveled on foot or using so-called “soft” means of mobility such as a scooter or a bicycle by the driver of the vehicle 10 who has, beforehand, parked the vehicle 10 in the parking lot.
[0076] Thus, a determined travel time for the second road route is notably determined based on the mode of mobility used to travel the second part 121b of the second road route.
[0077] Thus, a determined arrival time for the second road route allows a user to know the exact arrival time at the geographical arrival position A by taking into account the time to park the vehicle 10 in the parking lot and to travel the second part 121b of the second road route. If the user has an appointment at a defined time, he thus controls his travel time and is therefore not late.
[0078] In an eighth operation, the path of the vehicle 10 is controlled according to the first part 121a of the second route.
[0079] According to a particular embodiment, instructions are determined in a ninth operation and are transmitted, in a tenth operation, to the IVI computer in order to control the display of the instructions in a determined content of a human-machine interface. For example, the display of textual and / or graphical contents on the touch screen of the HMI is controlled.
[0080] In an eleventh operation, these instructions are, for example, also sent to AD AS systems.
[0081] According to a particular exemplary embodiment, once the geographical position of the parking lot P has been reached by the vehicle 10, third data representative of the second part 121b of the second route are transmitted, in a twelfth operation, to a mobile communication device 11.
[0082] These third data, once transmitted, allow the mobile communication device to in turn guide the user to the geographical position of the arrival point A.
[0083] Thus, this process of controlling a journey of the vehicle 10 makes it possible to determine a second road route facilitating the parking of the vehicle 10 and thus guaranteeing that a user arrives at the destination while controlling a complete journey time. This process also allows the user to easily find a parking space for the vehicle 10.
