Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: System for burying a funerary urn in a grave
[0001] The present invention relates to a device to allow a more solemn, more ceremonial burial and a real place in a grave and on a tombstone, of a funeral urn. While changing the vision of cremation.
[0002] When a funeral urn is buried in a grave, the smallness of the urn, the emotion of the ceremony, and the fact that the funeral home employees place the urn in the grave without a specific location, mixed with the other deceased, makes it more blurred, immaterial and invisible in the minds of visitors who later will not know where to direct their gaze and thoughts.
[0003] This device according to the invention makes it possible to fix a place on the tombstone where the funeral urn is buried in the grave. This allows visitors to keep all their bearings during their meditation and gives recognition to the deceased as well as to the act of cremation. Because the urn is no longer slipped into the grave but remains permanently visible, which prevents forgetting.
[0004] This device according to the invention is composed of 5 elements:
[0005] 001-A cylindrical hole (A) drilled right through the thickness of the stone tomb (F), (larger than the outside diameter of the body of the urn receiver (B) excluding the conical collar (5).
[0006] 002- Of a container receiving the funeral urn (B) which is fitted into the bore of the hole (A) is positioned in the thickness of the hole dug in the tombstone (F).
[0007] 003- From a cover called a closing medallion (D) which comes to cover and blocks access to the hole (A) dug in the tombstone (F)
[0008] 004- Of a sealing gasket (C), positioned between the tombstone (F) and the medallion closure (D), to prevent any infiltration of liquid.
[0009] 005-A locking system (E) of the medallion (D), which is done by several rods threaded, sealed on the tombstone (F), 8 rods are recommended for uniform and regular tightening of the sealing joint (C), fitted with washers (18) and nuts (19).
[0010] When ordering the tombstone by the customer it will be offered to him.
[0011] A: The drilling right through of one or more holes (A) in the thickness of the tombstone (F), this or these holes will be greater than the diameter of the body of the ume receiving container (B) excluding the conical collar (5).
[0012] B-On the upper part of the hole (A) (visible part of the tombstone), a shoulder (1,2,3) will be made to a depth equal to the thickness of the seal and the closing medallion. The bore (1) of the shoulder must be greater than the diameter of the closing medallion (D) which will allow the seal plus the medallion to be embedded in the mass of the tombstone (F). This tombstone being placed horizontally on the grave.
[0013] C- Between the base (3) of the shoulder and the upper part of the hole (A) a chamfer (4) with an angle of 45° is made to allow the collar (5) at 45° of the ume receiving container (B), to come and rest on the chamfer.
[0014] If the customer wishes, the shoulder (1,2,3) can be removed and the holes (7) for sealing the threaded rods (17) will be on the periphery and outside of the conical chamfer (4) which leaves the sealing gasket (C) and the closing medallion (D) in relief on the tombstone (F)
[0015] The urn receiving container (B) closed in its lower part it is closed at its base (6), and whose open upper part is terminated by a conical collar (5) with an angle of 45° comes to fit on the conical chamfer (4) inside the hole (A), which allows the urn receiving container to be centered in the hole (A) not to fall into the grave and to keep the funeral urn in a vertical position. This container can be made of metal or alloy, synthetic material or natural product.
[0016] The circular seal (C) installed between the tombstone and the closing medallion (D) must be wide, flat to allow the drilling of holes (8) in its circumference and in the same radius as the axis of the threaded rods. (17) The seal traps the threaded rods which reduces the risk of infiltration of liquids through the locking system (E) it must be of very good quality to resist bad weather and time.
[0017] The closing medallion (D) is circular with an external diameter (10) and is pierced in its circumference with holes (9) in equal quantity to the holes of the seal and the threaded rods and in the same radius (R) relative to the axis of the hole. On the visible side of the medallion upper face (12) it must be slightly curved to avoid stagnation of liquid, it is composed of a centering shoulder (14) and also pierced in its axis with a threaded hole (13) for handling allowing the fixing of a temporary handling handle used during the burial ceremony.
[0018] When finally closed the handle will be removed and the hole can be closed with a decorative object or an ornamental nut.
[0019] The closing medallion is pierced and tapped with blind holes (15).
[0020] The closing medallion is placed on the seal, making access in accessible to the hole (A) and to the funeral urn
[0021] The closing medallion will be provided upon delivery of the tombstone, of the same material as the tombstone and can be personalized during burial. The customer can keep this medallion or personalize it as they wish with a mineral, metallic or alloy material, synthetic product, or natural product.
[0022] The mechanical locking system (E) is composed of threaded rods fitted with washers and nuts. The threaded rods (17) are sealed with a chemical cement in the part (3) at the base of the shoulder or directly on the upper part of the tombstone if the customer does not want the closing medallion to be embedded.
[0023] The threaded rods must be sealed in the same circumference axis as the holes of the sealing gasket and the holes of the medallion, the three are in the same alignment. After the stacking of the three elements into each other, the washers are placed on the threaded rods, the nuts are screwed onto the threaded rods., after stacking the gasket and the closing medallion on the threaded rods, a washer is passed and a nut is screwed onto each threaded rod, an anti-theft security nut must be placed on at least one threaded rod.
[0024] The nuts locked on the medallion permanently block access to the urn. At least one of the nuts must be anti-unlocking or anti-theft security to prevent any desecration. The mechanical locking system (E) can be removed and replaced by a natural cement bond or by a chemical sealing cement to fix the medallion.
[0025] According to a first variant not shown, the cylindrical urn-receiving container is closed on both sides of the cylinder, an opening is made on the cylindrical part, an elongated part sufficiently large to be able to install the funeral urn inside, the collar (5) at 45° at the top of the urn-receiving container is removed, as well as the chamfer (4) at 45° of the hole (A), the urn-receiving container is pierced by holes in the upper part which closes the container, allowing it to be fixed to the closing medallion using screws or nuts with blind tapped holes (15).
[0026] It is the closing medallion and receiving container assembly which is removed from the tombstone (F) during burial.
[0027] According to a second variant the shapes of the invention are larger and they can contain several funeral urns. In this case a single hole is made, the urns are positioned side by side, the urn receiving container is molded for the shape of the hole, as well as the sealing gasket and the closing medallion. The locking system remains in the same positions in the shoulder if it is embedded in the tombstone or directly on the stone if there is no shoulder, it can also be glued to chemical cement or natural cement it can take the form of any geometric shapes.
[0028] According to a third variant several holes can be drilled the holes are of standard shapes (A) they are close to each other, the closing medallion is machined to cover all the holes, the seal is positioned on the periphery of the medallion as well as the mechanical or chemical locking system of the invention, the urn receiver remains in function of the hole (A) it can take all geometric shapes.
[0029] The customer has the choice of geometric shapes with the possibility of mixing the different shapes provided that the seal against liquid infiltration is respected.
[0030] The closing medallion with a diameter (10) smaller than the bore of the shoulder (1) pierced with holes (9) with a number of holes equal to the number of holes (8) of the seal and the number of threaded rods (17), in the same alignment with each other this closing medallion is placed on the seal making access inaccessible to the hole (A) and to the funeral urn after the burial of the deceased, it is provided with a centering shoulder (14) and a tapped hole (13) in its axis (face 12) allowing the fixing of a temporary handling handle, this tapped hole will be closed by an ornamental nut (16) after use, the face 12 will be slightly curved to avoid the stagnation of liquids, the closing medallion can be produced in natural stone, metal or alloy, synthetic or natural product.
[0031] A flat sealing gasket, (C) of circular shape placed between the tombstone and the closing medallion and pierced with holes in its circumference allowing the passage of the threaded rods (17), when it is put in place traps the threaded rods (17) which reduces the risk of infiltration of liquid through the locking system.
[0032] All the elements of the invention do not have a fixed dimension; everything depends on the dimension of the funeral urn (U) which must be defined to create a standard model for the invention.
[0033] The elements (A, B, C, D, 1, 4) constituting the invention are made in a circular geometric shape but can be made in any geometric shape.
