Description

Title of the invention: Packaging device with wedges Technical field

[0001] The present invention relates to the field of packaging fragile objects, and more particularly that of wedging said objects inside the packaging, in particular for postal dispatch.

[0002] An advantageous, but not limiting, application of the present invention lies in the wedging of a protective tube for a canvas or a poster of a rolled-up artistic work, for which the edges must not be damaged in any way. Prior art

[0003] Several devices for packaging objects, for example tubular ones, are known from the state of the art.

[0004] For example, in the field of art objects, in particular canvases, posters, etc., it is known to package this type of object in tubular packaging. However, the logistics associated with the postal dispatch of these tubular packagings are not easy and are expensive. This is why it is known to overpack these tubular packagings in a conventional, parallelepiped packaging, comprising internally at least one wedge through which the tubular contents pass.

[0005] Thus, the prior art document CN209442004U shows a packaging device comprising a first structure of parallelepiped shape, itself comprising several wedges capable of receiving a tubular object. However, the stability of the wedges within the cardboard structure is not optimal, thus compromising the stability of the object to be protected. Furthermore, this type of wedge is not suitable for transporting an object to be protected having large dimensions.

[0006] Document FR3088623 discloses a wedge intended to accommodate a tubular object. However, this type of wedge is only intended to stabilize said tubular object during its transport and sorting on a conveyor belt by postal services, and is in no way intended to stabilize the tubular object within a cardboard structure.

[0007] On the other hand, the prior art also shows the arrangement of several wedges inserted within a cardboard structure, or of a single elongated wedge having several recesses in order to accommodate a tubular object, but the design of this type of wedge remains basic and incapable of guaranteeing the structural integrity of the object to be packaged, in particular at its ends.

[0008] Thus, the prior art does not disclose any satisfactory solution to ensure the structural integrity and stability of an object to be packaged, especially if the object in question is elongated in shape, for example tubular. Statement of the invention

[0009] One of the aims of the invention is therefore to remedy the problems of the prior art by proposing an object packaging making it possible to ensure improved stability for the packaged object as well as optimal protection against any physical degradation due to the shocks inherent in the transport of the object.

[0010] To this end, a parallelepiped-shaped packaging of an object extending at least longitudinally has been developed, said packaging comprising internally at least two end wedges, each of the wedges being obtained from a folded strip of a width adjusted to that of an internal face of a first side wall of the packaging.

[0011] According to the invention, each wedge successively comprises: - a tab, - a first solid wall positioned against an end wall of the packaging, - a large support wall against the first side wall of the packaging, - a first wall for receiving a part of the object provided with a first orifice adjusted to the cross-section of the object, - a first small support wall against a second opposite side wall of the packaging, - a second wall for receiving a part of the object provided with a second orifice adjusted to the cross-section of the object, - a connecting wall parallel to the large supporting wall, - a third wall for receiving a part of the object provided with a third orifice adjusted to the cross-section of the object, - a second small support wall against the second side wall of the packaging, - a notch for receiving the tab, - a second solid wall, superimposed on the first solid wall; said walls of the wedges being connected to each other by fold lines, and the first solid wall, second solid wall, and first receiving wall are adjusted to the internal dimensions of the packaging.

[0012] In this way, the adjustment to the dimensions of the packaging of the first solid wall, the second solid wall and the first receiving wall, as well as the width of the folded strip forming the large support wall of the wedges, makes it possible to avoid any play between the wedges and the internal faces of the packaging, ensuring that the object is perfectly wedged and protected from shocks during its transport. The object is wedged inside the packaging and does not touch the edges, except at the ends, which is optimal for transport.

[0013] The presence of two small flat support walls form two flat feet ensuring increased stability of the wedge.

[0014] The presence of the two solid walls positioned against each end wall of the packaging makes it possible to improve the protection of the ends of the object to be protected, such as the edges of a poster contained in a tube for example. In other words, in the packaging of the invention there are three end walls which make it possible to absorb shocks linked to transport.

[0015] The shim is made from a single strip and is therefore simple to manufacture.

[0016] Preferably, the longitudinal dimension of the first small support wall is at least equal to one third of the longitudinal dimension of the large support wall, the longitudinal dimension being understood as the longitudinal dimension of the unfolded strip. This characteristic makes it possible to ensure a certain minimum width of the first small support wall in order to ensure optimal stability for the wedge.

[0017] The first small support wall and the second small support wall may have an identical longitudinal dimension.

[0018] Preferably, the packaging and / or each wedge is made entirely of cardboard.

[0019] Each wedge may have at least a third support foot defined by the succession of the following additional elements, between the connecting wall and the third wall receiving a part of the object: - a first additional wall for receiving a part of the object provided with an orifice adjusted to the cross-section of the object; - a small additional support wall against the second side wall of the packaging; - a second additional wall for receiving a part of the object provided with an orifice adjusted to the cross-section of the object; - an additional connecting wall parallel to the large wall.

[0020] Preferably, the succession of additional elements can be reproduced several times to form a wedge with a plurality of feet depending on the length of the object to be protected.

[0021] The additional small support walls preferably have a longitudinal dimension identical to the first small support wall and the second small support wall. Brief description of the drawings

[0028] With reference to Figures 1 to 6, the invention relates to a packaging (1) of parallelepiped shape. This packaging (1) internally comprises two end wedges (2), free, and obtained by folding a strip (3) ideally made of cardboard, intended to accommodate the ends of an object extending longitudinally, for example of tubular shape, without this being limiting.

[0029] With reference to figures 1 to 2, each wedge (2) comprises: - a tab (5), - a first solid wall (6) positioned against an end wall (7) of the packaging (1), - a large support wall (8) against the first side wall (4) of the packaging (1), - a first receiving wall (9) of a part of the object provided with a first orifice (10) adjusted to the cross-section of the object, - a first small support wall (11) against a second opposite side wall (12) of the packaging (1), - a second receiving wall (13) for a part of the object provided with a second orifice (14) adjusted to the cross-section of the object, - a connecting wall (15) parallel to the large support wall (8), - a third receiving wall (16) for a part of the object provided with a third orifice (17) adjusted to the cross-section of the object, - a second small support wall (18) against the second side wall (12) of the packaging (1), - a notch (19) for receiving the tab (5), - a second solid wall (20), superimposed on the first solid wall (6).

[0030] The large support wall (8) is in contact with a first side wall (4) of the packaging (1), while the first small support wall (11) as well as the second small support wall (18) are in contact with a second side wall (12) of the packaging (1), the latter being opposite the first side wall (4) of the packaging (1).

[0031] The orifices of the first receiving wall (9), second receiving wall (13) and third receiving wall (16) of each wedge (2) are aligned to accommodate a portion of the tubular object intended to be inserted into the wedges (2) within the packaging (1).

[0032] The adjustment of the orifices can be carried out by leaving a clearance of 1.5 cm around the object to facilitate its insertion into the wedge. In this configuration and once the object has been slid into the wedge, the latter is blocked by the fact that the walls (9) and (13) on one side and (16) on the other can be inclined in opposite directions, that is to say the walls (9) and (13) inclined in the direction of the wall (16) and the wall (16) inclined in the direction of the walls (9) and (13). This allows the upper and lower edges of the orifices to come to bear against the object to achieve vertical wedging.

[0033] The first solid wall (6) and the second solid wall (20) are attached to each other by means of the tab (5), intended to be inserted into the notch (19) provided for this purpose, these two solid walls (5) and (6) being parallel and superimposed.

[0034] With reference to [Fig.2], the packaging (1) according to the invention is shown accommodating a tubular object, the latter being inserted into the wedges (2) through the orifices (10), (14) and (17).

[0035] [Fig. 3] here represents in detail a wedge (2) outside the packaging (1), as well as its various elements and faces which constitute it.

[0036] With reference to [Fig.4], a wedge (2) is shown in its form of an unfolded strip (3). The different faces and constituent elements of the wedge (2) are connected to each other by fold lines (21). More particularly, the notch (19) is positioned on a fold line, the one which connects the second small support wall (18) and the second solid wall (20), provided to receive the tab (5) positioned at one end of the unfolded strip (3), and also connected to the first solid wall (6) by a fold line.

[0037] [Fig.5] shows the packaging (1) in an unassembled form, with two wedges (2), a tubular object (22) and a packaging (1) provided for assembling the different parts.

[0038] With reference to [Fig. 6], the packaging (1) is shown in its assembled form and accommodating a tubular object within it. There are clearly shown here two wedges (2) having dimensions perfectly adapted to the internal dimensions of the packaging (1), the first solid wall (6) of each wedge (2) being in contact with an end wall of the packaging (1) and having dimensions identical to the internal face of said end wall (7). The large support wall (8) is also shown at a fold line of the packaging (1), indicating that it is intended to be in contact with the internal face of a first side wall (4) of the packaging (1).

[0039] Thus, in its assembled and closed configuration, the shims (2) make it possible to avoid any play between the internal walls of the packaging (1) and the solid walls of the shims (2), such that the object is protected in all internal dimensions of the packaging. The superposition of the first solid wall (6) and the second solid wall (20) also provides additional protection at the end walls (7).

[0040] It is clear from the above that the invention provides a secure solution for shipping fragile objects, such as printed works (prints) and initially shipped in tubes or any other container of various shapes.
