Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Penile sheath for urinary collection and associated urinary collection system
[0001] The present invention relates to a penile sheath for urinary collection and associated urinary collection system, and more particularly for male urinary collection.
[0002] Urinary incontinence in men poses a significant challenge to quality of life and general well-being. Existing solutions, while often effective, have notable drawbacks, ranging from complexity of use to hygiene and comfort issues.
[0003] A urinary sheath is known as presented in document CN205144834, which teaches a urinary collection system comprising a collection bag, an evacuation conduit and a penile sheath maintained suitable for application to a male sex organ and held in position of use by fasteners intended to be locked to a belt or suitable underwear.
[0004] Such a urinary sheath has the disadvantage of causing leaks, and thus inconveniencing users while also causing discomfort due to the angle of attachment which can cause friction and may not be adaptable to all morphologies.
[0005] The present invention remedies these drawbacks.
[0006] The invention relates to a penile sheath for urinary collection comprising a quasi-tubular body made of a chosen material, and comprising an upstream end configured to accommodate the penis and to come into contact with the groin of the user in use, and a distally disposed downstream end comprising an evacuation nozzle configured to be fixed to an evacuation tube and thus allow the evacuation of urine to urinary collection means; locking means configured to maintain the urinary collection sheath in a position in use.
[0007] According to a general definition of the invention, the locking means comprise a removable testicular fixation ring, said removable testicular fixation ring being configured to be locked in the position of use by positioning around the testicles, said removable testicular fixation ring further comprising a rod protruding from its upper face, the rod further comprising a temporary fastening mechanism forming a female part on its free end, configured to accommodate a fastening button, integral with the body, forming a male part during a locking operation.
[0008] In practice, the locking means are made of an elastic material.
[0009] By way of example, the locking means are made of an elastic silicone-type material.
[0010] In practice, the removable testicular fixation ring is annular or quasi-annular in shape.
[0011] According to an embodiment according to the invention, the body further comprises at least two openings, each disposed laterally with respect to the body and suitable for allowing the evacuation of moisture accumulated by said case in use.
[0012] According to one embodiment of the invention, the downstream end of the body further comprises an extension structure integral with the body and the discharge nozzle, configured to allow a variation of the geometric angle between the body and the discharge tube without changing the position of the body.
[0013] In practice, the material chosen for the body is silicone.
[0014] The invention further relates to a urine collection system.
[0015] According to an alternative definition of the invention, the urinary collection system comprises urinary collection means connected to a drainage tube, said drainage tube also being connected to the penile sheath according to the invention
[0016] The penile sheath and urinary collection system according to the invention offer an ergonomic approach to meet the specific needs of men suffering from urinary incontinence. They are distinguished by their ease of use, optimal comfort, and increased effectiveness in preventing unwanted urinary leakage.
[0017] In addition, the penile sheath and associated urinary collection system according to the invention are reusable and environmentally friendly compared to existing systems, which are mostly single-use.
[0018] Advantageously, the penile sheath according to the invention includes a design adaptable to different morphologies, thus ensuring a personalized and secure fit. Furthermore, the presence of effective and durable locking mechanisms in a position of use and optimal drainage means helps to maximize user convenience while minimizing the risk of skin irritation and other complications related to prolonged use.
[0019] Other advantages and features of the invention will become apparent upon examination of the description and drawings in which: - [Fig.l] schematically represents the penile sheath in the mounted position according to the invention; - [Fig.2] schematically represents the penile sheath in the disassembled position in accordance with the invention; and - [Fig.3] schematically represents the urinary collection system according to the invention.
[0020] With reference to Figures 1 and 2, the penile sheath according to the invention comprises a body 2 of quasi-tubular shape configured to accommodate a user's penis and 3 removable locking means configured to hold said body in position for use for urine collection.
[0021] The body 2 of the penile sheath 1 according to the invention comprises an upstream end 21 configured to accommodate the penis and to come into contact with the groin of the user in use, and a distally disposed downstream end 22 comprising an evacuation nozzle 24 suitable for being connected to urinary collection means 5 via an evacuation tube 4.
[0022] In practice, the upstream end 21 is circular or quasi-circular in shape and elastically deformable so as to adapt to the circumference of the user's penis in use.
[0023] According to one embodiment of the invention, the body 2 of the penile sheath 1 further comprises an extension structure 23, at its downstream end 22, integral with the body 2 and the evacuation nozzle 24, and configured to allow a variation of the geometric angle between the body 2 and the evacuation tube 4 without changing the position of the body 2.
[0024] In practice, the extension structure 23 structurally has a conical or quasi-conical accordion shape.
[0025] Advantageously, the extension structure 23 allows for a variation in the geometric angle between the discharge tube 4 fixed to the discharge nozzle 24, thus enabling deformation of said discharge nozzle 24 to limit the movement of the body 2 and thereby reduce movement and friction of the user's penis during bodily movements. Furthermore, the extension structure 23 forms a ridge made of the same material as the body 2, configured to be in contact with the user's scrotal skin during use, thereby reducing potential irritation or injury to this area.
[0026] According to one embodiment of the invention, the body 2 further comprises at least two openings 25, each disposed laterally at the level of the upper third of the body 2 and suitable for allowing the evacuation of moisture accumulated by said penile sheath 1 in use while preventing potential leakage of urine in use.
[0027] Advantageously, such openings 25 make it possible to limit the phenomenon of epidermal maceration due to the accumulation of moisture between the internal wall of the body 2 and the skin of the user without allowing the creation of an unwanted urine evacuation.
[0028] By way of non-limiting example, the body 2 is made of a soft, elastic and smooth silicone-type material.
[0029] The body 2 of the penile sheath according to the invention further comprises an attachment button 26, integral with said body 2, projecting from the upper face of the body 2 at its upstream end 21 and forming a male part, adapted to receive a structure forming female part during a locking operation of the position of the penile sheath 1 in use.
[0030] The penile sheath 1 according to the invention further includes locking means 3, which include a removable testicular fixation ring 31, configured to be locked in the position of use by positioning around the assembly formed by the penis and testicles.
[0031] In practice, the removable testicular fixation ring 31 is annular or quasi-annular in shape.
[0032] Advantageously, a ring fixation based on anatomical parts such as the set formed by the penis and testicles makes it possible to obtain a durable fixation without requiring a belt or specifically adapted underwear and also allows for easier removal of said penile sheath 1 for washing.
[0033] In addition, said removable testicular fixation ring 31 further comprises a rod 32 projecting from its upper face, the rod 32 being integral with said removable testicular fixation ring 31 at an annular end.
[0034] The rod 32 further includes a temporary fastening mechanism 33 forming a female part on a free end, said temporary fastening mechanism 33 being configured to accommodate the fastening button 26, integral with the body 2, forming a male part during a locking operation.
[0035] Advantageously the attachment button 26 and the temporary attachment mechanism 33 are configured to allow a solid attachment of the penile sheath 1 in use and to maintain said penile sheath 1 in position during its use by allowing the body 2 of said penile sheath 1 to be detached on the one hand, from the locking means 3 on the other hand.
[0036] Such a removable attachment also makes it easier to remove the body 2 and thus allow the changing and / or washing of the groin and said body 2 without requiring a change of underwear or complex movements.
[0037] In practice, the locking means 3 are made of an elastic material.
[0038] By way of non-limiting example, the locking means 3 are made of an elastic silicone-type material.
[0039] With reference to [Fig.3], the invention further relates to a urine collection system.
[0040] The urine collection system includes urine collection means 5 connected to a drainage tube 4, said drainage tube 4 also being connected to a penile sheath 1.
[0041] In practice, the urine collection means 5 are of the type of single-use urine bag suitable for being hung on the user's body during use, and detached and discarded after use.
[0042] The penile sheath 1 as described above is connected to the drainage tube 4 by its drainage nozzle 24 of the urine collection system according to the invention.
[0043] Advantageously, the urine collection system according to the invention is easy to install, comfortable for the user, washable, reusable and helps to limit maceration phenomena.
