Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Solid shampoo with a malleable pasty texture
[0001] The present patent application relates to a solid shampoo composition having the particularity of having a malleable pasty texture and comprising water, xanthan gum, at least one acylglutamate, at least one alkylpolyglucoside, candelilla wax and camauba wax, and calcium carbonate and hydroxyapatite. The invention also relates to a process for obtaining this solid shampoo, a process for washing hair with the shampoo according to the invention, and the use of said composition as a shampoo. Prior art
[0002] Shampoos for cleaning hair are traditionally in liquid form. The latter is not always practical for the consumer, in particular those who have to use a shampoo outside the home, for example when traveling, hiking, or other activities outside the home.
[0003] In addition, these liquid shampoo compositions are mostly packaged in plastic containers, which cause environmental pollution. Many non-governmental agencies highlight these recurring problems in the cosmetics and personal care industry.
[0004] Reducing these plastic packagings is therefore essential, and society tends to eliminate them when possible. The need for easily transportable shampoos has also become apparent.
[0005] The development of solid shampoos has accelerated in recent years to address these issues.
[0006] Existing solid shampoos mostly take the form of soap. These solid shampoo formulations nevertheless bring their share of inconvenience and difficulties of use.
[0007] All solid shampoos available today are in fact difficult to apply for the user, who must use a very large quantity of water in order to emulsify said shampoo. In addition, such solid shampoos which do not emulsify easily are not pleasant for the user accustomed to liquid shampoos which emulsify easily.
[0008] The homogeneity of the application of these solid shampoos on the hair is also problematic, in particular for medium to long hair.
[0009] In addition, these solid shampoos tend to slip easily from the hand, and tangle the hair more easily during application.
[0010] They also melt when in contact with water on a soap dish, thus causing a loss of product for the user.
[0011] This loss of product is also linked to the fact that solid shampoos are difficult to dose to obtain optimal effectiveness, and waste could therefore be avoided.
[0012] Thus, there remains a need for an effective solid shampoo composition that solves all of the problems set out above, and which is therefore notably easier to apply, and which emulsifies more easily.
[0013] The Applicant has solved these problems by developing a solid pasty composition made malleable by its ingredients and the concentration thereof, stable over time and which thus allows easier application and emulsion.
[0014] In addition, its texture and packaging allow you to take only the desired and optimal quantity for cleaning and maintaining the hair, and to prevent contact with water of the unused product.
[0015] The Applicant has improved this composition in particular by reducing the concentration of xanthan, making it possible to effectively reduce the viscosity of the product according to the invention, in order to allow packaging in a tube. Detailed description
[0016] Thus, according to a first aspect, the invention relates to a malleable pasty solid shampoo composition comprising: • Water; • Xanthan gum; • At least one acylglutamate; • At least one alkylpolyglucoside; • Candelilla wax and carnauba wax; • Calcium carbonate and hydroxyapatite.
[0017] By "shampoo composition" is meant a cosmetic composition for cleaning the keratin fibers present on the human scalp, otherwise known as hair. This composition is used in individuals with healthy hair, to clean them.
[0018] By "solid shampoo" is meant a shampoo composition whose formulation has a compact, non-liquid appearance, which does not spread over a surface on which it rests. The active compounds of these shampoos are activated upon contact with water during their use, and thus act on the hair and scalp to clean them.
[0019] By "malleable paste" is meant according to the invention that said solid shampoo composition is in the form of a paste that can be deformed or molded under pressure, for example, from the user's fingers, and thus makes it easier to apply to the user's hair compared to a conventional solid shampoo. A malleable paste texture within the meaning of the invention is similar to the texture of a modeling clay. Thus the composition according to the invention has a viscosity similar to that of modeling clay.
[0020] This solid, malleable, pasty texture is obtained by combining the above compounds.
[0021] The composition described above comprises, in addition to the active ingredients specified above and determining its texture, compounds allowing in particular the cleaning and maintenance of the hair.
[0022] At the environmental level, the composition according to the invention and its packaging make it possible to limit the ecological impact. In particular, the composition according to the invention comprises 70% less water than a conventional shampoo. Indeed, in a conventional shampoo there is 80% water, whereas in the shampoo which is the subject of the invention there is only 10 to 25%.
[0023] According to one embodiment, the malleable pasty solid shampoo composition according to the invention comprises: • From 10 to 25% water by weight of the composition.
[0024] Preferably, the malleable pasty solid shampoo composition according to the invention comprises: • From 10 to 20% water by weight of the composition.
[0025] Preferably, the water used is osmosis water.
[0026] Alkylpolyglucosides and acylglutamates are surfactants. A surfactant is a water-miscible compound that reduces the surface tension between the keratin fiber and the dirt. It thus allows the dirt to be emulsified and removed during rinsing. It is the mixture of surfactants according to the intrinsic properties of each that allows a stable foam to be obtained.
[0027] The composition according to the invention uses surfactants which are among the mildest among the large family of surfactants.
[0028] Alkyl polyglucosides or (APGs) are a class of biodegradable nonionic surfactants derived from sugars, typically glucose and fatty alcohols. Derived from starch and fats as raw materials, the end products of APGs are typically complex mixtures of compounds with different sugars at the hydrophilic end and alkyl groups of varying length at the hydrophobic end.
[0029] Acylglutamates are anionic surfactants derived from glutamic acid. They are composed of a C8 or higher chain fatty acid and L-glutamic acid, and are obtained by acylation reaction and neutralization with a strong base (soda).
[0030] Glutamic acid and fatty acids are physiological components of hair. During the keratinization process, a significant amount of enzymes from Odland bodies are excited in the extracellular environment. These enzymes They can cleave different substrates. If an acylglutamate is applied to the skin, it is cleaved by these enzymes and the two original components are then obtained: fatty acid and glutamic acid.
[0031] This means that there will be no surfactant residues on the skin or hair, a specific and essential property of acylglutamates. By applying these surfactants, the skin and hair are given back their physiological components.
[0032] According to an embodiment of the invention, it is conceivable to replace said acylglutamate and / or said alkylpolyglucoside with sodium cocoyl sulfate or an isethionate. Preferably, said at least one acylglutamate is chosen from sodium cocoyl glutamate, and / or sodium lauroyl glutamate.
