Description

Title of the invention: Fixing device for rigid axle drive system

[0001] The present invention relates to a rigid axle drive system, and more particularly to a fixing device for a rigid axle drive system with a coupling device for a vehicle.

[0002] Propulsion systems for rigid axles with one or more motors mounted directly on the axle are already known, the configuration conventionally adopted consists of introducing a propulsion system casing ensuring the continuity of the axle.

[0003] This configuration requires a particular dimensioning of the casing of the propulsion system to take up the forces seen by the axle which makes it a specific solution.

[0004] This specific configuration is not applicable when it is desired to reuse such a propulsion system casing on a different axle. In addition, this involves sealing problems.

[0005] The invention therefore aims to overcome these drawbacks of the prior art by proposing a rigid axle motorization system device.

[0006] For this purpose, the present invention proposes a propulsion assembly formed by a propulsion system and a device for fixing the propulsion system to a rigid axle, characterized in that the fixing device is formed by a cradle.

[0007] Thus the forces taken up by the rigid axle pass through the cradle without ever being transmitted to the propulsion system. Complete decoupling is therefore ensured between the wheel drive and the suspension forces taken up.

[0008] According to one embodiment of the invention, the cradle comprises a housing in which the propulsion system rests and a hoop fixed to the housing.

[0009] According to one embodiment of the invention, the hoop has the shape of a carrying handle.

[0010] According to one embodiment of the invention, the cradle is formed by a housing comprising a floor on which the propulsion system rests and four faces perpendicular to the floor forming the outline of the housing which therefore has an open face.

[0011] According to one embodiment of the invention, the faces of the housing are solid or open.

[0012] According to one embodiment of the invention, the cradle comprises on two opposite faces a central opening allowing the passage of an axle.

[0013] According to one embodiment of the invention, the cradle is configured to be fixed to an axle on each of its sides.

[0014] According to one embodiment of the invention, the axle comprises an assembly according to the invention.

[0015] According to one embodiment of the invention, the cradle is fixed to the axle by each of its sides, for example by screwing.

[0016] The invention also relates to a vehicle comprising at least one axle according to the invention.

[0017] Other aims, characteristics and advantages of the invention will be better understood and will appear more clearly on reading the description given below, with reference to the appended figures, given by way of example and in which: - [Fig.l] is a representation of a device for fixing a motorization system on an axle according to a first embodiment of the invention, - [Fig.2] is a representation of an assembly according to an embodiment of the invention seen from a first face, - [Fig. 3] is a representation of an assembly according to an embodiment of the invention seen from a second face, - [Fig.4] is a longitudinal sectional representation of an assembly according to one embodiment of the invention, - [Fig.5] is a representation of an axle with two assemblies according to one embodiment of the invention, - [Fig.6] is a longitudinal sectional representation of an axle with two assemblies according to one embodiment of the invention, - [Fig.7] is a representation of a vehicle with two axles comprising two assemblies according to one embodiment of the invention.

[0018] [Fig.l][Fig.l] illustrates a rigid axle 1 of a vehicle with a motorization system 10 according to the invention.

[0019] The vehicle 100 is a vehicle 100 with at least two wheels, for example a motorcycle, a motor vehicle.

[0020] The present invention is aimed in particular at use in a motor vehicle but also at use in any rolling land vehicle intended for the transport of passengers or goods, light, intermediate or heavy, construction machinery or agricultural machinery, trailers or caravans.

[0021] In the context of the invention, a motorization system 10 is a propulsion system 10 which allows propulsion and comprises the elements allowing the power of the engine to be transmitted to at least one wheel.

[0022] According to one embodiment of the invention, the system 10 is fixed to an axle 1, and for example an axle 1 of a trailer or caravan.

[0023] The vehicle 100 comprises at least one rigid axle 1 and, for example, two axles 2 [Fig.7].

[0024] According to one embodiment of the invention, the rigid axle 1 comprises two wheel hubs 26 and the associated wheels 2, a central shaft 3, at least one propulsion system 10 for a vehicle.

[0025] According to one embodiment of the invention, the propulsion system 10 comprises at least one motor 11 and a reducer 30, for transmitting the torque to the transmission shaft 12. The motor 11 is an electric motor [Fig.2][Fig.4].

[0026] According to one embodiment of the invention, the engine 11 is cooled by a cooling fluid which is air or liquid, and for example water.

[0027] The system 10 is controlled by an electronic assembly not illustrated comprising the elements necessary for the operation of the system 10.

[0028] In the context of the invention, the reducer 30 is coupled to the motor 11, directly or indirectly. According to one embodiment of the invention, the indirect coupling 41 is achieved with a belt 41, a gear or any other type of coupling adapted to the operation of the system 10 [Fig.3].

[0029] In the context of the invention, the propulsion system 10 is fixed to the axle 1 by means of a fixing device 20.

[0030] According to one embodiment of the invention, the fixing device 20 has the shape of a cradle 20. This cradle 20 makes it possible to mount a propulsion system 10 on a rigid axle 1 while ensuring the continuity of the latter and avoiding the transmission of forces to the propulsion system 10 which is thus protected. This makes it possible to use less resistant and lighter materials for the propulsion system 10.

[0031] According to one embodiment, the axle 1 comprises two cradles 20 of the propulsion system 10.

[0032] According to one embodiment, illustrated [Fig.2] the cradle 20 is formed by a housing 21 in which the propulsion system 10 rests and a hoop 22 fixed to the housing. The hoop 22 has the shape of a carrying handle. More precisely, the housing 21 comprises a floor 211 on which the propulsion system rests and four faces 212 perpendicular to the floor forming the outline of the housing 21 which therefore has an open face. The faces are solid or open. The hoop 22 is arranged at the opening of the housing 21.

[0033] According to one embodiment, the cradle comprises on two opposite faces a central opening 23 allowing the axle 1 to pass through.

[0034] According to one embodiment of the invention, the cradle is fixed to the axle 1 by each of its sides, visible in figures [Fig.2] and [Fig.3].

[0035] According to one embodiment of the invention, the fixing is carried out for example by screwing screws 25, for this the cradle has additional openings 24 arranged around the central opening 23.

[0036] According to one embodiment of the invention, the cradle is made from steel casting or any other manufacturing techniques compatible with the use and for example from mechanical welding.

[0037] According to one embodiment of the invention, the propulsion system 10 is rigidly fixed to the cradle. The fixing is carried out with or without damping elements.

[0038] According to one embodiment of the invention, the reducer 30 of the system is fixed to the cradle 20 at the central opening 23. Such fixing allows the centering of the reducer relative to an internal face of the housing 21.

[0039] The forces taken up by the rigid axle thus pass through the cradle without ever being transmitted to the propulsion system 10. Complete decoupling is therefore ensured between the drive of the wheels and the take-up of the suspension forces.

[0040] The invention also relates to a propulsion assembly formed by the fixing device and the propulsion system.

[0041] Such a propulsion assembly, fixing device and propulsion system, has the compactness required to be housed under the floor of a trailer.

[0042] According to one embodiment of the invention, a single assembly is arranged on an axle or at least two assemblies are arranged in series via through shafts [Fig.5] and [Fig.6].
