Description

Title of the invention: “Motor vehicle wiping device with a fitted wiping lip” FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a wiping device for a motor vehicle and in particular for the field of passenger vehicles and heavy goods vehicles. STATE OF THE ART

[0002] According to document DE 198 58 307 A1, a windscreen wiper blade is known for cleaning vehicle windows. This known windscreen wiper blade comprises a wiping blade carried by a system of stirrups.

[0003] DISCLOSURE AND ADVANTAGES OF THE INVENTION

[0004] The present invention relates to a wiping device, in particular for a motor vehicle, comprising a holding installation and a wiping lip,

[0005] this device being characterized in that

[0006] - the holding installation has a holding member, elongated and extending at least according to a longitudinal extension, this holding member having a hollow profile, open at one of its ends, into which the wiping lip slides with a spacer from the open end along the longitudinal extension,

[0007] - the hollow profile has a fixing slot along the longitudinal extension, and

[0008] - the wiper lip spacer passes through the fixing slot in the installed state.

[0009] The wiping device according to the invention has the advantage of better construction and better functionality. The device allows for simpler construction and facilitates the replacement of the wiping blade.

[0010] Advantageously, the wiping lip has a wiping edge which, in operation, is guided over the window for wiping and the fixing slot of which is made in the side of the hollow profile facing the edge of the wiping lip. This provides the advantage of a fixing which optimally accommodates the forces produced during wiping.

[0011] According to an advantageous feature, the wiping lip has a retaining blade connected to the spacer and which, in the fitted state, engages from the inside against the side of the hollow profile at the level of the fixing slot. This allows a form connection which guarantees a durable fixing.

[0012] According to an advantageous characteristic, there is provided a tip connected at least indirectly in a removable manner to the holding member and the tip connected to the holding member blocks the wiping lip in the fitted state in the hollow profile against any extraction in the longitudinal extension direction. The tip guarantees the fixing even in the case of a simple realization of the wiping lip. This also allows simple exchange by the user.

[0013] The end piece is advantageously connected at least indirectly to the holding member by a hooking connection, which constitutes a simple connection mechanism that can be used intuitively.

[0014] Advantageously, the holding installation is made on the wiping arm in such a way that the holding member of the wiping arm is constituted at least practically by the hollow profile and the end piece is removably connected to the end of the hollow profile. Thus the wiping lip is installed simply on the wiping arm, this lip being able to be replaced simply by the user.

[0015] However, any other embodiment of the wiping device is possible, in particular it is possible to have a windshield wiper with flat stirrups.

[0016] According to an advantageous characteristic, at least one holding member has a practically closed receiving profile and the holding installation has at least one spring leaf which extends practically over the entire longitudinal extension of the receiving profile and a connecting piece preferably securely connected to the wiper blade is provided at the end of the hollow profile to removably connect the end piece. Thus one or more holding members can be produced for a flat-bracket windscreen wiper, simplifying the replacement of the wiper blade.

[0017] According to an advantageous characteristic, the wiping lip has a retaining blade connected to the spacer, the retaining blade having at least one notch and the end piece engages the notch of the retaining blade of the wiping lip, which facilitates the disassembly or extraction of the wiping lip.

[0018] An embodiment, in addition or as a variant, also allows another connection between the tip and the wiping lip, the wiping lip being able to be connected to the tip by a chemical bond, in particular by gluing.

[0019] According to another characteristic, at least one notch of the retaining blade is provided on a large side of the wiping lip and the end piece has a relief which can engage in the notch of the retaining blade on its large side, thus achieving a connection by the shape, guaranteed and of small size.

[0020] According to an advantageous characteristic, at least one notch of the holding blade extends from a first large side of the wiping lip towards a second large side of the wiping lip and the side of the end piece facing the wiping lip has a rib coming into the recess extending from the first large side to the second large side. This provides a reliable and compact form-fitting connection.

[0021] According to an advantageous characteristic, the wiping lip and the tip are not connected to each other. In this embodiment, the installed tip simply allows block the wiping lip which may have play and a certain back and forth movement between the end stops or even a practically play-free assembly.

[0022] According to a development, the wiper arm has a wiper lip that is easy to replace. At least three and possibly exactly three components are provided: a wiper arm forming the basic structure and connected to the shaft of the electric motor, a wiper lip in the form of a piece made of rubber or a flexible plastic material or the like, and an end piece that performs the function of an end cap and fixes the wiper lip to the wiper arm. The end cap is detached by an actuating button. The wiper arm thus holds the wiper lip while allowing simple replacement of the wiper lip and its exchange. The end piece may be an end piece beyond the outer arc of the wiping path.

[0023] The driven wiper arm predefines the movement of the wiper lip on the window. The wiper arm may be in the form of a hollow profile in the region of the wiper lip. The hollow profile then fixes the wiper lip and holds it over its entire longitudinal extension. According to an alternative embodiment, the wiper lip is only held or fixed on only one or more segments.

[0024] According to an advantageous embodiment, the end piece is provided with a release mechanism which allows simple detachment of the end piece from the wiping arm. For example, the end piece comprises an actuating button. According to a variant, the release mechanism or the actuating button are on the wiping arm. The end piece and the wiping arm can be engaged in each other in a detachable manner when the end piece is installed.

[0025] The wiping lip is fixed to the end piece in the installed state, i.e. in the fitted state. For this purpose, the end piece has a relief which engages in the notch of the wiping lip, allowing the wiping lip to be fixed along the longitudinal extension. The user can thus simply replace the wiping lip.

[0026] According to a variant, the wiping lip in the engaged state is not connected to the end piece. When the wiping lip is installed, there may or may not be a predefined clearance depending on the longitudinal extension. The end piece can thus support the wiping lip in addition to the wiping arm, transversely to the longitudinal extension or fix it during the wiping movement. In addition, the end piece protects against loss.

[0027] According to another development, the wiper is flat with a replaceable wiping lip. Instead of an end cap, it is possible to have the combination of an end piece and a connecting piece which simplifies the replacement of the wiping lip. The connecting piece is fixedly installed on the holding member and ensures the connection with the end piece. The end piece can be integral with the wiping lip. Between the connecting piece and the end piece, there can be a removable connection.

[0028] The connecting piece has means which allow the attachment or release and exchange of the tip. This makes it possible to simplify the production of the tip which can, if necessary, be replaced at the same time as the wiping lip.

[0029] A leaf spring ensures the stability of the wiping device. The concept of leaf spring is to be taken here in the general sense and it also encompasses embodiments in which the leaf spring practically guarantees the stability of the structure during wiping to guide the wiping lip according to the wiping movement on the window, in particular for pulling. The leaf spring is not necessarily pre-stressed when the wiper device 1 is installed.

[0030] The connecting piece may be connected to the leaf spring. This connecting piece may be provided at the inner arc or the outer arc of the wiping path. The connecting piece comprises means for connection with the end piece and with a release mechanism for releasing the connection with the end piece. A clip-on connection may be provided.

[0031] The wiping lip is fixed by the end piece when it is connected to the connecting piece. The end piece can be connected to the wiping lip.

[0032] The end piece may also not be connected to the wiping lip. When it is not connected to the connecting piece, the end piece blocks the sliding of the wiping lip according to its extension.

[0033] The tip may have a relief which fits into a cutout of the wiping lip so that the wiping lip can be changed independently of the tip. But the tip may also be securely connected to the wiping lip so that it will be replaced with the wiping lip.

[0034] The tip may have a receiving profile for receiving the wiping lip and supporting it in the wiping movement at the tip.

[0035] The holding device may also comprise a deflector. The holding device may have one or more holding members obtained by extrusion. Depending on the application, one or more holding members may be provided for the leaf spring, ensuring the required stability. The holding member may hold both the leaf spring and the wiper lip. This applies correspondingly to several holding members. Brief description of the drawings

[0060] DESCRIPTION OF AN EMBODIMENT

[0061] Figures 1 to 6 show different representations of a wiping device. 1 corresponding to a first embodiment. The wiping device 1 is applied in particular to a motor vehicle; [Fig.l] shows the wiping device 1 in the installed state.

[0062] The wiping device 1 has a holding installation 2 which, in this exemplary embodiment, is in the form of a wiping arm 3. The wiping arm 3 comprises a fixing member 4 with a fixing eyelet 5 allowing its fixing to the output shaft of an electric motor.

[0063] [Fig. 2] shows the wiping lip 6 of the wiping device 1 according to a schematic perspective view corresponding to one embodiment. The wiping lip 6 can advantageously be put in place or removed in a simple manner for its replacement as shown in [Fig. 3].

[0064] The holding installation 2 comprises an elongated holding member 8 extending in a longitudinal extension direction 7; this holding member is connected to the fixing member 4. The holding member 8 has a hollow profile 10 with an open end 9. The wiping lip 6 can be slid from the open end 9 along the longitudinal extension 7, into the hollow profile 10 as shown in [Fig.3]. The wiping lip 6 can conversely be pulled out of the hollow profile 10 as shown by the double arrow 11.

[0065] The engagement and extraction of the hollow profile 10 are possible thanks to a fixing slot 15. The fixing form 15 extends according to the longitudinal extension 7 through the hollow profile 10. The wiping lip has a holding blade 16 and a spacer 17 connected to the holding blade 16. In the engaged state, the spacer 17 of the wiping lip 6 passes through the fixing slot 15.

[0066] [Fig.4] shows the holding installation 2 and the wiping lip 6, the latter being dismantled. The wiping lip 6 has an edge 20. In operation, the wiping lip 6 passes by its edge onto the window which is not part of the wiping device 1. The fixing slot 15 is made on the side 21 of the hollow profile 10 facing the edge 20 of the wiping lip 6.

[0067] The retaining blade 16 of the wiping lip 6 comes to grip from the inside between the rear of the side 21 of the hollow profile 10 at the level of the fixing slot 15 when it is fitted.

[0068] The wiping device 1 also has a tip 24 detachably connected to the holding member 8 or to the open end 9 of the hollow profile 10. The installed tip 24 fixes the wiping lip 6 so that it remains in the fitted state in the hollow profile 10. To remove the wiping lip 6, the user releases and detaches the tip 24. He can then remove the wiping lip 6 by pulling on the tip 24.

[0069] The end piece 24 is connected to the holding member 8 by a hooking connection. According to an alternative embodiment, other connection methods can also be envisaged.

[0070] [Fig.5] shows a possible connection between the tip and the wiping lip. holding blade 16 of the wiping lip 6 has a notch 35. The end piece 24 in the installed state, i.e. when the end piece 24 and the wiping lip 6 are connected, comes into the notch 35 of the holding blade 16 of the wiping lip 6.

[0071] The actuating button 38 of the end piece 24 can hook into a cutout 39 ([Fig.4]) at the open end 9 of the hollow profile 10 when the end piece 24 is installed. In addition, at least one of the long sides 36, 37 of the wiping lip 6 has at least one relief 33 which can overlap the groove 34 of the wiping lip 6 which extends over the long sides 36, 37.

[0072] In this embodiment, the notch 35 of the retaining blade 16 extends from a first large side 36 of the wiping lip 20 to a second large side 37 of the wiping lip 6. The notch 35 is groove-shaped. Furthermore, on its side 42 facing the wiping lip 6, the end piece 24 has a rib 43 which, in the installed state, engages in the notch 35 as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6.

[0073] Figures 7 to 9 show the wiping device 1 of a second embodiment. [Fig.7] is an inclined view, from below, i.e. from the window towards the wiping lip 6. [Fig.8] shows the end piece 24 according to the view direction bearing the reference VIII in [Fig.7]; [Fig.9] shows the installed or engaged state of the wiping lip 6 with the end piece 24 fixed.

[0074] In this embodiment, the wiping lip 6 and the end piece 24 are not connected to each other. The wiping lip 6 can be engaged independently of the end piece 24 in the fixing slot 15 as shown by the arrow 45. Then the end piece 24 is put in place as shown by the arrow 46. In the installed state there can be a certain clearance 47 so that the wiping blade 6 can move in one direction and the other in the fixing slot 15 as explained by the double arrow 47. In an alternative embodiment there is practically no clearance.

[0075] Figures 10 to 20 show a third embodiment of a wiping device 1. [Fig. 10] shows the wiping device 1 in the installed state. An adapter 50 connects two holding members 8 to each other. A wiping arm is attached to the adapter 50.

[0076] [Fig. 11] shows an exploded view of the wiping device 1. The holding member 8 has a receiving profile 30. Furthermore, the holding installation 2 has an elastic blade 31 which extends in the receiving profile 30 over its longitudinal extension 7. The wiping device 1 has a connecting piece 32.

[0077] The connecting piece 32 is securely connected to the elastic blade 31 as shown in [Fig. 12]. Figures 13 and 14 show the connecting piece 32 securely connected to the spring blade 31. The connecting piece 32 can be hooked into a notch 44, preferably lateral, of the spring blade 31.

[0078] According to Figures 15 and 16, the end piece 24 is removably connected to the connecting piece 32, for example by a hooking connection. Thus, the end piece 24 is removable from the end 9 of the hollow profile 10. The connecting piece 32 comprises an actuating button 38, the recess 39 in which the operating button 38 hooks being provided on the end piece 24.

[0079] [Fig. 17] shows the end piece 24 with the hollow profile 10 which continues to receive the wiping lip 6. [Fig. 18] shows the wiping lip 6 in the assembly before the end piece 24 is installed. The end 51 of the wiping lip 6 can thus be engaged in the hollow profile 10 at the end piece 24 as shown in [Fig. 19]. This [Fig. 19] shows a detail of the wiping device 1 of [Fig. 18] in the installed state according to the view direction XIX.

[0080] [Fig. 20] shows a corresponding detail of the wiping device 1 at another end 52, in the installed state according to the view direction XIX. This other end 52 which extends into the hollow profile 10 receives an end cap 53.

[0081] Figures 21 and 22 show a fourth embodiment of the wiping device 1. [Fig. 21] shows the end piece 24; [Fig. 22] shows a wiping lip 6 which can be connected to the end piece 24.

[0082] The retaining blade 16 has a notch 35 in a large side 36 of the wiping lip 20. The end piece 24 has, correspondingly, a relief 40 which, in the installed state, engages in the notch 35 of the large side 36 of the retaining blade 16.

[0083] [Fig.23] is a schematic view of a fourth embodiment of the member holding member 8 of the wiping device 1. The spring blade 31 extends in this case into the receiving profile 30 of the holding member 8.
