Description

Title of the invention: MOTORIZED TURNTABLE FOR MOTOR VEHICLE Field of invention

[0001] The field of the invention is that of the design and manufacture of equipment for displaying objects.

[0002] More particularly, the invention relates in particular to a rotating platform for a motor vehicle. State of the art

[0003] To enhance their display, particularly at trade fairs or in dealerships, motor vehicles can be mounted on rotating platforms allowing them to rotate 360°.

[0004] Thus, customers can view the vehicle from all angles without having to move around the vehicle.

[0005] Conventionally, turntables are round and comprise a fixed structure intended to rest on a floor and a mobile structure mounted to rotate on the fixed structure.

[0006] The fixed structure comprises a metal frame intended to rest on the ground, and integrating a plurality of concentric rings around a central pivot, and each carrying rolling elements allowing the rotation of the mobile structure.

[0007] Motor means are positioned to enable the mobile structure to be driven in rotation relative to the fixed structure.

[0008] The mobile structure comprises, for its part, a metal chassis provided, on a lower face, with a plurality of rolling tracks, and chassis cover plates, on which the motor vehicle to be exhibited is placed.

[0009] More specifically, the chassis comprises a plurality of sectors each consisting of two side members arranged in a V-shape between which at least one cross member is fixed by welding or screwing. In other words, the side members form spokes of the chassis. The sectors are connected to a central hub at their thinnest end, and connected to a circular rail at their widest end. Other concentric rails are located between the central hub and the rail located at the widest end. The rails thus form the running tracks extending under the chassis.

[0010] The mobile structure comprises as many rolling tracks as the fixed structure comprises crowns. More precisely, the rolling tracks are intended to be positioned each opposite one of the crowns so as to allow their cooperation with the rolling elements carried by the crowns.

[0011] For some installations, the ground may have a recess intended to receive the fixed structure so that the mobile structure is flush with the ground. When the ground is rough, that is to say it is without a recess, one or more access ramps may be provided to allow a vehicle to climb onto the mobile structure in order to be exposed.

[0012] Such turntables have certain drawbacks which the present invention aims to remedy.

[0013] First of all, the frame and chassis are mechanically welded assemblies. To produce them, it is therefore necessary to call on skilled workers whose hourly cost is high.

[0014] Furthermore, the installation of the platform on the exhibition site proves to be particularly tedious since the mechanically welded assemblies are heavy and bulky, requiring great delicacy in their handling to avoid damaging them as well as great caution to avoid damaging the elements of the environment, particularly when the turntable is installed in an exhibition hall in which other vehicles are already exhibited. In addition, since these turntables are of a significant height, the excavation requires civil engineering work which can be costly and cause noise and vibration pollution when the hall is in operation, for example.

[0015] Finally, the maintenance of such constructions proves to be long, tedious and costly. Indeed, when one of the rolling elements is defective, it is necessary to at least partially dismantle the chassis. In addition, when the repair is to be carried out on the chassis itself, it is necessary to call upon qualified and therefore costly labor since the chassis is composed of mechanically welded elements. Objectives of the invention

[0016] The invention aims in particular to overcome the drawbacks of the prior art.

[0017] More specifically, the invention aims to propose a rotating tray whose size is reduced compared to the solutions of the prior art, taking up little space while being simple to design and install compared to existing solutions.

[0018] The invention also aims to provide such a tray which is simple to assemble and manufacture.

[0019] The invention further aims to provide such a tray which is robust and easy to maintain.

[0020] The invention finally aims to provide such a tray offering good resistance to the external environment, in particular to corrosion. Statement of the invention

[0021] These objectives, as well as others which will appear subsequently, are achieved thanks to the invention which relates to a motorized rotating platform for a motor vehicle, comprising: - a fixed structure intended to rest on the ground, and including rolling elements; - a mobile structure mounted for rotation on the fixed structure along an axis of rotation transverse to said ground on which the fixed structure rests, said mobile structure including a chassis carrying rolling tracks intended to cooperate with the rolling elements of the fixed structure, and chassis cover plates, and - motor means, in which the chassis comprises a lattice formed by side members to which cross members are assembled, characterized in that the chassis also comprises an external tunnel forming a crown surrounding the trellis and defining a rolling track, said tunnel comprising a plurality of riders abutting each other, each rider having a base having an internal surface forming a portion of rolling track, and in that the mobile structure is assembled by bolting.

[0022] Such a turntable proves to be particularly simple to design, install and maintain, robust and inexpensive.

[0023] The presence of the tunnel makes it possible to limit the number of parts while ensuring good mechanical strength. The tunnel forming a crown surrounding the trellis, the rigidity of the chassis is then increased without increasing its size.

[0024] Furthermore, the fact that the riders forming the tunnel comprise a base whose internal surface forms a rolling track ensures a limitation of the size of the rotating plate, in particular in its height, compared to existing solutions.

[0025] It is then understood that the trellis is at least partially located under the rolling track formed by the internal surface of the riders, which promotes the reduction of the size of the mobile structure, and therefore of the rotating plate, in particular in height.

[0026] In addition, the bolted assembly makes it easier to transport and install the turntable. This also makes maintenance easier since the turntable can be easily and quickly disassembled for maintenance.

[0027] Finally, the costs of a turntable according to the invention are limited compared to the solutions of the prior art since it is not necessary to call upon qualified labor given that the assembly is carried out by bolting. The use of a bolted assembly also makes it possible to limit the cost of transporting the turntable to its place of installation since it can be stored in a restricted space by being dismantled while the mechanically welded elements of prior art requires more storage space.

[0028] According to an advantageous aspect, the chassis of the mobile structure also comprises a central hub from which the side members extend, the side members forming spokes of the chassis, the central hub comprising a flat wall coplanar with the cover plates, said flat wall having a lower surface forming a rolling track intended to cooperate with rolling elements of the fixed structure.

[0029] Such a chassis architecture provides good mechanical strength while limiting the number of elements that constitute it.

[0030] Furthermore, the shape of the central hub makes it possible, like the riders, to limit the size, particularly in height, of the mobile structure and therefore of the rotating plate.

[0031] This is explained by the fact that the frame lattice is located at least partially under the running track formed by the lower surface of the flat wall.

[0032] According to an advantageous aspect, each rider has, extending from the internal surface: - an internal cheek facing the inside of the mobile structure and provided with holes allowing the passage of bolts intended for assembling the rider with the trellis, and - an external cheek facing the outside of the mobile structure and with which the motor means cooperate.

[0033] Such a configuration of the riders makes them mechanically resistant while making it possible to reduce the height of the mobile structure and therefore of the rotating plate.

[0034] According to an advantageous aspect, the external cheek is formed by a plurality of legs spaced from each other and each extending from the base, each leg having at an end opposite the base, a claw extending towards the outside of the mobile structure.

[0035] Such an external cheek proves to be mechanically resistant while limiting the weight of the rider. Furthermore, the presence of the claws allows guidance of the drive means.

[0036] Consequently, the motor means can be sized downwards since the chassis of the mobile structure is lighter compared to the solutions of the prior art.

[0037] According to an advantageous aspect, the internal cheek comprises a rim extending from the base and, at an end opposite the base, a return extending towards the interior of the mobile structure.

[0038] The internal cheek thus provides a housing for receiving the trellis, making it easier to assemble the chassis of the mobile structure.

[0039] In addition, the return makes it possible to stiffen the rider, in order to resist mechanical forces. canics due to the weight of a load exposed on the turntable, for example a motor vehicle.

[0040] According to an advantageous aspect, each rider has a first end comprising a first beveled end, and a second beveled end, the first beveled end of a first rider being intended to cooperate with the second beveled end of a second rider abutting the first.

[0041] The presence of the first beveled end and the second beveled end allows a progressive passage of the rolling elements from one rider to another.

[0042] In other words, when the riders are abutted, they are positioned such that the first beveled end of a first rider fits with the second end of a second rider.

[0043] The junction between the two riders is therefore achieved by a partial interlocking of the two riders which generates a simultaneous and temporary cooperation of the second rider and the first rider with the same rolling element.

[0044] The junction between the two riders is thus oblique, which limits the noise generated by the movement of the tunnel on the rolling elements. The operation of the plate is therefore quieter than that of the plates of the prior art.

[0045] According to an advantageous aspect, the mobile structure is divided into a plurality of angular sectors, each angular sector comprising a cover plate and, integral with said cover plate, two side members and a cross member extending between said two side members.

[0046] Such an architecture makes it easier to transport the turntable from its place of manufacture to its place of installation.

[0047] Furthermore, this further facilitates the assembly of the board since there are fewer parts to assemble.

[0048] Finally, the rigidity of the mobile structure is increased and possible operating noises are eliminated due to the fact that the elements are not assembled, which prevents the appearance of undesirable play between the different elements.

[0049] According to an advantageous aspect, the side members and the cover plate are made in one piece.

[0050] This makes it possible to simplify the design and manufacture of the mobile structure and therefore of the turntable. It is recalled that the expression "made from one material" concerns two sub-assemblies of an assembly, formed from the same material without one of the two sub-assemblies being attached to the other by any assembly operation. For example, such an assembly can be obtained by molding or by folding, bending, rolling, etc. operations.

[0051] Indeed, by simple boilermaking operations, such as laser cutting, shearing and folding, or even bending, it is possible to obtain re-

[0052] According to an advantageous aspect, the side members together form a V, the cross member having a first end secured to one of the side members at a first distance from the tip of the V and a second end secured to the other of the side members at a second distance from the tip of the V, the second distance being strictly greater than the first distance.

[0053] This architecture makes it possible to avoid an overlap between two adjacent crosspieces, which would cause a local excess thickness of the mobile structure and, in the worst case, could cause a lack of flatness of the cover plates impacting the aesthetics of the turntable.

[0054] Furthermore, such positioning of the crosspiece makes it possible to increase the mechanical resistance of the angular sectors by providing better distribution of mechanical stresses. Figures

[0063] A rotating plate 100 according to the invention is now described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 6.

[0064] With reference to figures 2 and 3 respectively, the tray 100 comprises a fixed structure 200 intended to rest on a ground, and a mobile structure 300 intended to be rotatably mounted on the fixed structure 200.

[0065] More precisely, the mobile structure 300 is mounted for rotation on the fixed structure 200 along an axis of rotation A transverse to said ground on which the fixed structure 200 rests.

[0066] The rotation of the mobile structure 300 on the fixed structure 200 is ensured by motor means 400.

[0067] The motor means 400 comprise, for example, a motor intended to cooperate with a belt, a chain or a cable which drives the mobile structure 300 in rotation. Various technological solutions can be implemented to enable the mobile structure 300 to be driven by the belt, the chain or the cable.

[0068] With reference to [Fig.2], the fixed structure 200 is described in more detail.

[0069] The fixed structure 200 comprises a metal frame intended to rest on the ground.

[0070] The metal frame comprises a plurality of bars 210 extending from a central pivot 220. The metal frame thus has a substantially star shape.

[0071] The fixed structure 200 also comprises a plurality of rolling elements 230 distributed in at least two concentric rings 240.

[0072] The number of crowns 240 is advantageously determined as a function of the dimensions of the rotating plate 100 and / or the weight supported by the rotating plate 100.

[0073] In the exemplary embodiment illustrated by [Fig.2], the fixed structure 200 comprises only two crowns 240.

[0074] The rolling elements 230 allow the support and the rotational guidance of the mobile structure 300 as explained below.

[0075] The rolling elements 230 take the form, for example, of rollers equipped with bearings. Other solutions such as non-stick pads and / or pads with high abrasion resistance could also be used.

[0076] The rolling elements 230 are advantageously adjustable to compensate for a defect in the ground on which the fixed structure 200 rests.

[0077] For this, the rolling elements 230 integrate, for example, a fixing plate provided with oblong slots making it possible to adjust the position of the rolling element 230 on the ground.

[0078] The rolling elements 230 may also integrate height adjustment means making it possible to compensate for the presence of an unevenness in the ground.

[0079] The crowns 240 are concentric around the central pivot 220.

[0080] For certain installations, the ground on which the platform 100 is installed may have a recess intended to receive the fixed structure 200 so that the mobile structure 300 is flush with the ground.

[0081] On the other hand, when the ground is raw, that is to say that it is without any excavation, one or more access ramps 250 may be provided to allow a vehicle to climb onto the mobile structure 300 in order to be displayed. In the exemplary embodiment illustrated by [Fig.l], the rotating platform 100 is circular. To provide an advantageous aesthetic appearance, the rotating platform 100 then comprises a plurality of ramps 250 arranged such that they form a truncated cone-shaped ring surrounding the metal frame.

[0082] With reference to [Fig.3], the mobile structure 300 is described in more detail.

[0083] The mobile structure 300 includes a chassis and chassis cover plates 310.

[0084] The chassis comprises a lattice formed by side members 320 to which cross members 330 are assembled.

[0085] As described previously, in the exemplary embodiment illustrated by [Fig.l], the rotating plate 100 is circular. The side members 320 thus extend from a center of the mobile structure 300, forming Vs two by two.

[0086] The mobile structure 300 comprises a central hub 340 from which the side members 320 extend.

[0087] The central hub 340 defines a first rolling track intended to cooperate with the rolling elements 230 of a first crown 240.

[0088] The central hub 340 comprises a planar wall coplanar with the cover plates 310. In other words, the central hub comprises a planar element extending in the same plane as the cover plates 310.

[0089] Said flat wall has a lower surface forming a rolling track intended to cooperate with rolling elements 230 of the fixed structure 200.

[0090] When the central hub 340 is assembled to the side members 320, the flat wall is bolted to the top of the side members. In other words, the flat wall of the central hub 340 covers the side members 320.

[0091] The central hub 340 may also comprise a barrel intended to cooperate with the central pivot 220 of the fixed structure 200 to form the point of rotation of the mobile structure 300 on the fixed structure 200.

[0092] The side members 320 are secured to the central hub 340 by a first end and form spokes of the chassis.

[0093] As illustrated by [Fig.3], the crosspieces 330 are positioned between the two side members 320 of a V.

[0094] At a second end, opposite the first end, the side members 320 are secured to an external tunnel.

[0095] The outer tunnel forms a crown surrounding the trellis and defines a rolling track intended to cooperate with the rolling elements 230 of a second crown 240.

[0096] It is thus understood that the fixed structure 200 comprises a first crown 240 located radially towards the center of the rotating plate 100, and a second crown 240 located radially towards the outside of the rotating plate 100.

[0097] As illustrated in [Fig. 3], the truss also comprises half-spars 325 extending between the crossmembers 330 and the tunnel. More specifically, the half-spars 325 form a T with the crossmembers 330, the web of the T being defined by the half-spar 325 and the flange of the T being defined by the crossmember 330. In other words, the web of the T, i.e. the crossmember, extends between two side members 320 and the flange of the T, i.e. the half-spar 325, extends between the crossmember 330 and the tunnel.

[0098] The tunnel comprises a plurality of riders 350 abutting each other.

[0099] The riders 350 are described in more detail with reference to Figures 4 and 5.

[0100] Each rider 350 has a base 351 having an inner surface 3511 forming a portion of a rolling track and, extending from the inner surface 3511, an inner cheek 352, and an outer cheek 353.

[0101] The internal cheek 352 is turned towards the inside of the mobile structure 300 and is provided with orifices 3521 allowing the passage of bolts intended for the assembly of the rider 350 with the trellis, that is to say with the side members 320, half-side members 325 and, possibly, the cross members 330. The assembly of the rider 350 with the cross members 330 can be carried out when the trellis takes a more conventional form, for example a grid form, that is to say that the side members 320 are parallel to each other and that the cross members 330 are perpendicular, or almost, to the side members 320, this not preventing the production of a rotating plate 100 of round shape.

[0102] As seen in Figures 4 and 5, the internal cheek 352 comprises a rim 3522 extending from the base 351 and, at an end opposite the base 351, a return 3523 extending towards the interior of the mobile structure 300.

[0103] The edge 3522 and the return 3523 form a shoulder intended to receive one end of a spar 320 or a half-spar 325 to allow them to be secured by bolting.

[0104] The external cheek 353 is turned towards the outside of the mobile structure 300.

[0105] As will be detailed below, the motor means 400 cooperate with the external cheek 353 of the riders 350 to allow the rotational driving of the mobile structure 300.

[0106] According to an advantageous aspect, the external cheek 353 is formed by a plurality of legs 3531 spaced from one another and each extending from the base 351, more precisely from the internal surface 3511 of the base 351, each leg 3531 having at an end opposite the base 351, a claw 3532 extending towards the outside of the mobile structure 300.

[0107] The belt, chain or cable of the motor means cooperates by adhesion with the legs 3531.

[0108] The belt, chain or cable is thus retained in cooperation with the mobile structure 300 by the tabs 3531 and the claws 3532 of the riders 350.

[0109] When the mobile structure 300 is mounted on the fixed structure 200, the lattice extends between the rings 240 carrying the rolling elements 230.

[0110] The rolling tracks are carried by the central hub 340 and the tunnel, which makes it possible to limit the height of the mobile structure 300 and therefore of the rotating plate 100. Indeed, compared to the prior art for which the rolling tracks are located under the trellis. The definition of the chassis of the mobile structure 200, in which the rolling tracks are carried by the base 351 of the riders and by the flat wall of the central hub 340 makes it possible to limit the height of the mobile structure 200 since the rolling tracks are not located under the trellis.

[0111] In the case of a large rotating plate 100, the fixed structure 200 may comprise more than two crowns 240 carrying rolling elements 230.

[0112] In this case, the side members 320 of the chassis of the mobile structure 300 are advantageously replaced by half-side members 325 between which are inserted riders 350. This then makes it possible to create new rolling tracks on the chassis while retaining the advantages of reducing the height.

[0113] The lattice therefore extends mainly under the rolling tracks, which makes it possible to minimize the height of the rotating plate 100, and therefore its size.

[0114] As illustrated by [Fig.l], at least one of the cover plates 310 has an inspection hatch 315 allowing access to the rolling elements 230 of the mobile structure 300.

[0115] With reference to [Fig.7], each rider 350 has a first beveled end 354, and a second beveled end 355, the first beveled end 354 of a first rider 350 being intended to cooperate with the second beveled end 355 of a second rider 350 abutting the first.

[0116] The presence of the first beveled end 354 and the second beveled end 355 allows a progressive passage of the rolling elements 230 from a first rider 350 to a second rider 350, as illustrated by [Fig.7].

[0117] In other words, when the riders 350 are abutted, they are positioned such that the first beveled end 354 of a first rider 350 and the second beveled end 355 of a second rider 350 add up to form the raceway.

[0118] The junction between the two riders 350 is therefore achieved by a partial overlap of the two riders 350 which causes the riders 350 to partially press against each other.

[0119] The junction between the two riders 350 is oblique relative to a radius R extending substantially parallel to a ground on which the plate 100 rests, and transversely to the axis of rotation A. This makes it possible to limit the noise generated by the movement of the tunnel, that is to say the succession of riders 350 abutting, on the rolling elements 230. The operation of the plate 100 is therefore silent.

[0120] Preferably, each of the first beveled end 354 and the second beveled end 355 forms, with a radius R, an angle α greater than 10°. Preferably, the angle α is greater than 15°.

[0121] As illustrated by [Fig.7], the rolling elements 230 (only one being shown in dotted lines in [Fig.7]) cooperate simultaneously with two riders 350 when they are in line with the first beveled end 354 of the first rider 350 and the second beveled end 355 of the second rider 350.

[0122] According to an alternative embodiment illustrated by [Fig.6], the mobile structure 300 is divided into a plurality of angular sectors 500.

[0123] Each angular sector comprising a cover plate 310 and, integral with said cover plate, two side members 320 and a cross member 330 extending between said two side members 320.

[0124] In this variant, the side members 320 and the cover plate 310 are integrally formed. In other words, the side members 320 and the cover plate 310 form a single-piece assembly. It is recalled that the expression “integrally formed” relates to two sub-assemblies of an assembly, formed from the same material without one of the two sub-assemblies being attached to the other by any assembly operation. For example, such an assembly can be obtained by molding or by folding, bending, rolling, etc. operations.

[0125] For this, a sheet metal is cut, for example by laser cutting, then folded so as to form the cover plate 310 on the one hand, and the side members 320 on the other hand. If necessary, a few weld points can be made to hold the side members 320 formed by folding together and on the cover plate 310.

[0126] An end reinforcement 510 can also be produced, again by folding and possibly a few welding points, on the edge of the cover plate 310 coming to the right of a rider 350.

[0127] In this variant embodiment, the side members 320 together form a V and the cross member 330 is attached by bolting to the single-piece assembly comprising the cover plate 310 and the side members 320.

[0128] For this, each crosspiece 330 has: - a first end 331 secured to one of the side members 320 at a first distance D1 from the tip of the V, and - a second end 332 secured to the other of the side members 320 to a second distance D2 from the tip of the V, the second distance D2 being strictly greater than the first distance Dl.

[0129] This makes it possible in particular to avoid any overlapping of the crosspieces 300 of two adjacent angular sectors 500 during the assembly of the mobile structure 300.

[0130] It is therefore not necessary to use skilled labor for the manufacture of these angular sectors 500 since the welding points have no structural role and can be carried out by a low-skilled worker.

[0131] The assembly and fixing to the ground of the fixed structure 200 are carried out by means of bolts and / or simple screws.

[0132] The same applies to the production of the mobile structure 300 which is assembled by means of bolts and / or simple screws.

[0133] It is recalled that a bolt is the result of the helical cooperation of a screw and at least one nut.

[0134] To simplify, we will speak of assembly by bolting, even if for certain assemblies only screws are used.

[0135] The rotating plate 100 which has just been described offers numerous advantages, including the following.

[0136] Firstly, the bolted assembly makes it easier to handle the various elements constituting the rotating plate 100 to enable its transport and installation on site from a manufacturing location.

[0137] Secondly, the use of bolts and / or screws makes it easy to maintain the rotating plate 100 since it is sufficient to unscrew the screws to allow disassembly and therefore ensure maintenance.

[0138] Thirdly, the assembly by bolts and / or screws does not require any particular qualification so that the cost of manufacturing and installation of the rotating plate 100 is reduced compared to existing solutions for which the manufacturing at least uses welding requiring qualified and therefore expensive labor.

[0139] Furthermore, the assembly by bolts and / or screws allows for a complete treatment of each element, in particular against corrosion by galvanization or painting, before their assembly. This makes it possible to avoid premature degradation of the plate. This protection against corrosion is largely limited, or even impossible, when the elements are welded since the melting of the materials during welding causes the degradation of the protective treatment layer. Thus, thanks to the assembly of its constituent elements by bolting and / or screwing, it is possible to increase the service life of the plate 100 compared to the solutions of the prior art for which the different elements are welded.

[0140] Fourth, the external tunnel allows: - stiffen the mobile structure 300 by connecting the ends of the side members 320 by screwing, - form an external rolling track of the mobile structure 300, - limit, or even eliminate, the noise linked to the passage of the rolling elements 230 on the rolling track at the junction between the riders 350 thanks to the beveled ends, - limit the height of the plate 100 since the tunnel forms a cavity in which the rolling elements 230 are received, - form a support and guide means for the motor means 400, in particular the belt, the chain or the cable.

[0141] Finally, the implementation of manufacturing steps relating to the field of simple boilermaking, i.e. laser cutting, shearing and folding, or even bending, do not require extremely qualified labor, nor particular protective elements, and are quick to implement compared to the implementation of welding processes.
