Description

Title of the invention: Fixing device for glazing element technical field

[0001] The present invention relates to a fixing device enabling direct fixing of a glazing element onto a construction element, such as, for example, onto a wooden construction element.

[0002] By direct fixing, it is understood in this document that the fixing device is configured to achieve the fixing of the glazing element on the construction element without resorting to the use of a frame (or chassis) which surrounds the glazing element. State of the art

[0003] To secure a frame fitted with a glazing element to a building element, it is known in the prior art to fix the frame (or chassis) of this frame to the building element by means of screws or nails.

[0004] This type of fixing solution is effective because it allows the user to quickly and easily attach the door frame to the building element. However, it has major drawbacks, the first being the high cost due to the requirement to use a door frame with a surround, as well as the significant amount of material needed to manufacture the surround. This solution is also problematic in terms of weight and bulk for transport and installation. Summary of the invention

[0005] The technical problem underlying the invention therefore consists of providing a conforming fixing device for directly fixing a glazing element onto a building element, which is simple, compact and economical, while allowing intuitive, quick, efficient and reliable installation and fixing by a user.

[0006] To this end, the present invention relates to a fastening device for ensuring direct attachment of a glazing element to a structural element, the fastening device comprising:

[0066] Figures 1 to 2 represent a fastening device 1, according to a first embodiment of the invention, which comprises a fastening clip 2 and a member of Fastening 3. The fastening device 1 allows for the direct fastening of a glazing element 4 to a structural element 5, in particular by means of an interface element 6, such as a sealing gasket, intended to be interposed between the fastening clip 2 and the structural element 5 on the one hand, and between the fastening clip 2 and the glazing element 4 on the other. The interface element is configured to prevent direct contact between the fastening clip 2, which is generally made of metal, and the glazing element 4.

[0067] The fixing clip 2 is formed in one piece and is intended to be in direct contact with the interface element 6. The fixing clip 2 is obtained by bending and cutting a sheet that is initially flat, in order to reduce the manufacturing cost of the product.

[0068] According to the embodiment of the invention shown in Figures 1 to 2, the fastening clip 2 comprises a central part 7, two retaining parts 8 and a fastening part 9, the characteristics and respective functions of which are detailed below.

[0069] The central portion 7 comprises a main wall 7.1 having an upper edge 7.2, and extends substantially planarly along a central plane PL. The main wall 7.1 is intended to extend, from the upper edge 7.2, between the glazing element 4 and the structural element 5. The central portion 7 has a length, measured along the upper edge 7.2, of between 10 millimeters and 40 millimeters. Preferably, the length of the central portion 7 is between 20 millimeters and 30 millimeters, and is, for example, 25 millimeters.

[0070] The retaining parts 8 are substantially flat and projecting from the main wall 7.1. The retaining parts 8 extend in a first direction from the upper edge 7.2 of the main wall 7.1 at an angle of 90° and are configured so as to bear on an external surface 4.1 of the glazing element 4 via the interface element 6. The retaining parts 8 are intended to extend each along a retaining plane P2 and parallel to an external surface 4.1 of the glazing element 4. Each retaining part 8 comprises a free end 8.3 configured to be covered by the interface element 6.

[0071] More specifically, the retaining parts 8 extend along a retaining plane P2 which is substantially transverse to the central plane PL. Each retaining part 8 has identical dimensions, and in particular a length, measured transversely to the central plane PI, of between 5 millimeters and 20 millimeters. Preferably, the length is between 10 millimeters and 15 millimeters, and is, for example, 12.8 millimeters.

[0072] As shown in Figures 1 to 2, the two retaining parts 8 are offset along the upper edge 7.2 and define a recess 10 between them. Advantage In fact, the use of a plurality of retaining parts 8 allows a homogeneous distribution of forces on the external surface 4.1 of the glazing element 4, in order to prevent damage to the glazing element 4.

[0073] The fastening portion 9 extends from the upper edge 7.2, at the level of the recess 10, and projects from the main wall 7.1 in a second direction opposite to the first. The fastening portion 9 comprises a fastening wall 9.1 designed to extend substantially planarly along a fastening plane P3 that is transverse to the central plane PI; furthermore, the retaining plane P2 and the fastening plane P3 are parallel and non-coplanar. More specifically, the fastening portion 9 is configured to extend opposite an external wall 5.1 of the structural element 5. The fastening portion 9 has a length, measured transversely to the central plane PI, of between 20 millimeters and 30 millimeters. Preferably, the length of the fastening portion 9 is between 22 millimeters and 28 millimeters, and is, for example, 25 millimeters.

[0074] According to the first embodiment of the invention, the fastening part 9 comprises two lateral portions 9.2 that project outwards on either side of the fastening wall 9.1. More specifically, each of the lateral portions 9.2 extends in a plane that is not parallel to the fastening plane P3. Such a configuration of the invention, and in particular of the lateral portions 9.2, makes it possible to increase the bending resistance of the fastening part 9. The lateral portions 9.2 extend substantially parallel to each other.

[0075] The fixing part 9 further includes a through fixing hole 11 configured to be able to open out opposite the construction element 5. The fixing hole 11 is advantageously substantially circular and is provided on the fixing wall 9.1.

[0076] According to the first embodiment of the invention, the fixing clip 2 is configured such that the value of the surface of the retaining part 8, which is intended to extend parallel to the external surface 4.1 of the glazing element 4, is strictly greater than the value of the surface of the fixing part 9, which is configured to extend opposite the external wall 5.1 of the construction element 5.

[0077] As explained previously, the fastening device 1 comprises a fastening clip 2 and a fastening member 3 configured to pass through the fastening part 9 through the fastening orifice 11. More specifically, and as shown in [Fig.1], the fastening member 3 is configured to secure the fastening clip 2 to the construction element 5.

[0078] According to the embodiment of the invention shown in the figures, the fastening member 3 can be considered a fastening screw, and comprises a threaded portion 3.1 and a Shoulder 3.2 is configured to be at least partially in contact with the fixing wall 9.1 when the threaded portion 3.1 passes through the fixing hole 11. Such a configuration of the invention, and in particular the presence of the fixing hole 11, makes it possible to fix a glazing element 4 to a structural element 5 without resorting to the use of a frame surrounding the glazing element 4. In addition, the presence of the fixing hole 11 acts as a guide for the user to fix the fixing clip 2 by means of the fixing member 3 at a suitable location, and in particular on a wall of the structural element 5.

[0079] Advantageously, the fixing hole 11 is provided at a distance from the central part 7 which is substantially equal to four times the diameter of the threaded portion 3.1 of the fixing member 3. Such a configuration of the invention makes it possible to obtain a fixing device 1 which meets the standards in force with regard to the fixing of glazing elements 4, namely the respect of a minimum distance between the fixing member 3 and the end of the construction element 5, this while minimizing the material used and in order to control the manufacturing cost of the fixing device 1.

[0080] As can be seen more specifically in [Fig. 2], the central portion 7 comprises a plurality of retaining lugs 12, obtained by partially cutting and folding a portion of the central portion 7, and each configured to protrude from the central plane PI. More particularly, at least one retaining lug 12 is configured to protrude towards the interface element 6, and at least one retaining lug 12 is configured to protrude towards the construction element 5. Such a configuration of the invention increases the friction between the central portion 7 and the interface element 6 on the one hand, and between the central portion 7 and the construction element 5 on the other hand, thereby preventing unintentional displacement of the fastening device 1 before the fastening member 3 is put in place, for example.

[0081] According to the first embodiment of the invention, the fixing clip 2 comprises a snap-on device 13 configured to allow mounting on the fixing clip 2 of a glazing bead intended to at least partially cover the fixing device 1 and / or the glazing element 4. The snap-on device 13 extends substantially transversely to the fixing plane P3 and comprises a first snap-on portion 13.1 extending from one of the lateral portions 9.2 and a second snap-on portion 13.2 extending from the other of the lateral portions 9.2. The first snap-on portion 13.1 is offset laterally relative to the second snap-on portion 13.2 along the fixing wall 9.1.

[0082] Finally, the fastening clip 2 has a reinforcing indentation 14 arranged along the upper edge 7.2 in a junction area between the main wall 7.1 and the wall 9.1. Such a configuration of the invention advantageously prevents deformation of the fastening clip 2 between the fastening part 9 and the central part 7.

[0083] Figure 3 represents a fastening device 1 according to a second embodiment of the invention which differs from the first embodiment essentially in that the snap-on device 13 extends from only one of the lateral portions 9.2. In other words, the first snap-on portion 13.1 and the second snap-on portion 13.2 are provided consecutively and on the same lateral portion 9.2.

[0084] Figures 4 and 5 represent a fastening device 1 according to a third embodiment of the invention which differs from the second embodiment essentially in that the fastening device 1 comprises a counter-support portion 8.2, which is configured to ensure a clamping function in combination with the support portion 8.1 of the fastening clip 2 on the glazing element 4. The counter-support portion 8.2 extends in the first direction from a lower edge 7.3 of the central part 7, such that the support portion 8.1 and the counter-support portion 8.2 are provided on either side of the glazing element 4.Such a configuration of the invention allows pre-mounting of the fixing clip 2 on the glazing element 4 before the installation of the fixing member 3, which allows the glazing element 4 to be placed against the main wall, and more precisely against the interface element 6, which facilitates the assembly of the fixing device 1 by the user.

[0085] The third embodiment of the invention also differs from the second embodiment in that the central part 7 has a single retaining lug 12 configured to protrude from the central plane PI and in the direction of the construction element 5, and in that the snap-on device 13 extends from the fixing wall 9.1.

[0086] Figure 6 represents a fastening device 1 according to a fourth embodiment of the invention which differs from the first embodiment essentially in that the fastening wall 9.1 extends substantially parallel to the main wall 7.1. In other words, the central plane PI and the fastening plane P3 are coplanar according to this embodiment of the invention.

[0087] Although external to the invention, the following elements are specified in order to better understand the invention and its application:

[0088] - the glazing element 4 is a double-glazed unit in which the panes are spaced apart by a separating spacer,

[0089] - the sealing gasket extends around the perimeter of the glazing element 4 and is integral with the glazing element 4, that is to say, it is assembled and held in position with the glazing element 4 by bonding for example,

[0090] - the construction element 5 is a vertical construction wall which is, in a way favorite, made of wood.

[0091] Of course, the present invention is in no way limited to the embodiments described and illustrated, which have been given only by way of example.
