Description

Title of the invention: BOTTLE WITH POLYGONAL BASE Technical field of the invention

[0001] The present invention generally relates to a bottle intended to contain a liquid or pasty product and associated with a system for collecting and dispensing the product. Technical background

[0002] A bottle makes it possible to contain a product and to distribute it to a user on demand via a dispensing member. Such a bottle thus makes it possible to preserve the product it contains from contamination from the external environment before its distribution.

[0003] There are two main types of bottles: so-called atmospheric bottles and so-called "airless" bottles. For so-called atmospheric bottles, when the product is taken out, the volume of product leaving the bottle is compensated by a volume of air entering the bottle by venting the container. For so-called "airless" bottles, the volume of product taken out is compensated by a reduction in the volume of the container.

[0004] The most widely used "airless" bottles are said to be piston bottles and are thus formed of a container closed on one side by a dispensing device and on the other by a piston sliding hermetically in the container. The piston then moves axially to the container as the product is dispensed.

[0005] Airless piston bottles therefore require optimal sliding sealing of the piston in order to ensure satisfactory distribution of the product.

[0006] Furthermore, it is known that the most reliable sliding seals are based on cylindrical shapes. Thus, the container of “airless” piston bottles is mostly cylindrical in shape.

[0007] However, although the cylindrical shape of the containers is optimal for sealing the piston, it nevertheless has disadvantages for the storage and / or transport of the bottles.

[0008] Indeed, cylindrical bottles offer limited support both when they are resting on their base and when they are not resting on their base, for example when lying on their side.

[0009] Such a disadvantage is detrimental both for a user of the bottle who may lack stability during its use, and is also detrimental for example during the treatment of waste by a recycling channel. Indeed, the cylindrical structure of such bottles causes their instability for example on sorting belts, occa highlighting the complication of recycling.

[0010] For example, in a waste treatment method comprising a step of detecting the material in a first step and a step of ejecting the bottle by air jet in a second step, the rolling of the bottle between these two steps does not allow it to be sorted correctly. Indeed, the time lag between the detection step and the ejection step requires that the bottle remains stationary after its detection in order to be able to be correctly ejected by the air jet.

[0011] Thus, the aim of the present invention is to propose a cylindrical bottle which has greater stability during its daily use by a user and also during its recycling, for example by a waste recycling channel. Summary of the invention

[0012] The invention provides a dispensing bottle, intended to contain a liquid or pasty product and associated with a dispensing member, the bottle comprising:

[0013] - a cylindrical outer container comprising a peripheral wall which extends around a main axis, the peripheral wall delimiting an internal volume intended to contain at least the product to be distributed,

[0014] - a base separate from the outer container and intended to close an axial end of the outer container, the base comprising at least one base having a polygonal shape in projection in a radial plane, the base comprising a circular central portion from which triangular-shaped holding tabs extend radially, the apexes of which extend radially opposite the peripheral wall, the holding tabs extending radially beyond a circumference of the outer container.

[0015] The bottle according to the invention is thus advantageous in that its base, the base of which has a polygonal shape, is more stable when the bottle rests on a surface upright on its base and when the bottle is lying on its side on the surface, the polygonal shape of the base of the base preventing the bottle from rolling on the surface.

[0016] For example, the bottle according to the invention is advantageous in that its base allows it not to roll on a conveyor belt used as a conveyor on a waste sorting site.

[0017] According to other characteristics of the invention: - the retaining legs of the base of the base have a curved shape so that their tops form support surfaces for the dispensing bottle when it rests on its base; - flat faces extend between the tops of the base retaining legs, the flat faces extending tangentially to the outer container cy lindic in projection in a radial plane of the base; - the base comprises a cylindrical wall which extends axially projecting from the base while being coaxial with the main axis so as to extend into the internal volume delimited by the peripheral wall; - the cylindrical wall comprises a circular groove which extends circularly on an external peripheral face of the circular wall, opposite the central portion of the base; - the peripheral wall comprises a peripheral bead which extends circularly against an internal face of the peripheral wall and in such a way that the bead cooperates with the circular groove of the cylindrical wall when the base closes the axial end of the outer container; - the dispensing member extends at least partly outside the outer container from an upper axial end, the base closing a lower axial end of the outer container opposite the upper axial end along the main axis. [0025] In the following description, identical, similar or analogous elements will be designated by the same reference numbers.

[0026] [Fig.l] illustrates a dispensing bottle 10, intended to contain and dispense a liquid product or trays. For example and in a non-limiting manner, the bottle 10 may contain a cream or a liquid such as a perfume which it can dispense at a user.

[0027] The bottle 10 comprises, among other things, a cylindrical outer container 12 comprising a peripheral wall 14 which extends around a main axis P, otherwise called an axis of revolution, and which delimits an internal volume 15, partly visible in [Fig. 5], of the bottle 10 intended to contain at least the product to be dispensed.

[0028] The outer container 12 comprises two axial ends 16, defined along the main axis P, and called upper axial end 16a and lower axial end 16b.

[0029] The bottle 10 also comprises a base 18 separate from the outer container 12 and intended to close one of the axial ends 16 of the outer container 12.

[0030] The base 18 is here a part added to the external container 12.

[0031] More precisely, the base 18 is intended to close the lower axial end 16b of the outer container 12.

[0032] The mention of the terms upper and lower associated with the axial ends 16 of the outer container 12 is in particular to be considered according to a position of use of the bottle 10, when the latter rests with its base 18 in an upright position on a flat surface SP, as illustrated by [Fig.l].

[0033] The bottle 10 also comprises a dispensing member 20 for the product, partially visible in [Fig. 1]. The dispensing member 20 comprises, among other things, a pump 22 configured to extract the product from the internal volume of the bottle 10 so that the product is available to a user.

[0034] According to the example of the invention illustrated, the pump 22 of the dispensing member 20 extends at least partly outside the outer container 12, from the upper axial end 16a of the outer container 12.

[0035] It should also be considered that, since the dispensing member 20 is not the subject of the invention and is already known to those skilled in the art, it will not be the subject of a detailed description.

[0036] According to the invention visible in figures 2 and 3, the base 18 of the bottle 10 comprises at least one base 24 having a polygonal shape in projection in a radial plane, considering the main axis P of the external container 12.

[0037] More precisely and according to the illustrated embodiment, the base 24 has a hexagonal shape in projection in a radial plane, considering the main axis P of the external container 12.

[0038] More precisely, a central portion 26 of the base 24 is defined in a circular shape, coaxial with the main axis P.

[0039] The central portion 26 of the base 24 then forms a flat surface of the base 18. The central portion 26 of the base 24 extends in particular in a radial plane considering the main axis P.

[0040] As seen in Figures 2 and 5, a receiving zone 28 of the peripheral wall 14 extends circularly around the central portion 26 of the base.

[0041] More precisely, the receiving zone 28 comprises a first annular bearing surface 30 which extends in a plane parallel to the plane of the central portion 26 of the base 24 and being axially offset from the central portion 26 towards the opposite side of the outer container 12.

[0042] Thus, the first bearing surface 30 is connected to the central portion 26 of the base 24 by a second frustoconical bearing surface 32 which extends in a plane intersecting with respect to the planes in which the central portion 26 and the first bearing surface 30 extend and in such a way that it connects them.

[0043] According to the invention and visible in [Fig.5], an axial end of the peripheral wall 14 at the level of the lower axial end 16b of the outer container 12, comprises an edge 34 of which at least one part is chamfered towards the internal volume of the outer container 12.

[0044] Thus, it is understood that the receiving zone 28 comprising the first bearing surface 30 and the second bearing surface 32 is capable of receiving the edge 34 of the peripheral wall 14 at the level of the lower axial end 16b and of which the chamfered part of the edge 34 cooperates with the second frustoconical bearing surface 32.

[0045] In other words, the receiving zone 28 of the base 24 comprising the second truncated support surface 32, has a complementary shape with the edge 34 of the peripheral wall 14, a part of which is chamfered.

[0046] As seen in [Fig. 3], holding tabs 36 extend from the first bearing surface 30 of the receiving area 28 described above.

[0047] More precisely, the holding tabs 36 each have a substantially triangular shape and such that a vertex 38 of the triangular shape of the holding tabs 36 is directed radially opposite the central portion 26 of the base.

[0048] It is then understood that the holding tabs 36 extend radially beyond a circumference of the outer container 12 of the bottle, as visible in [Fig.5].

[0049] Thus, the base 24 of the base 18 extends at least partly radially beyond the circumference of the outer container 12, the holding tabs 36 forming radial projections of the base 24.

[0050] It is also understood that the base 18 according to the example of the invention illustrated comprises six holding tabs 36 arranged angularly with respect to each other at an identical angle so as to give the hexagonal shape to the base 24 in projection in a radial plane as described previously and visible in [Fig. 3]. The six holding tabs 36 are therefore distributed circumferentially in a regular manner around the main axis P.

[0051] It is then understood that depending on the shape of the base 24, it can comprise more or less than six holding tabs.

[0052] As visible in [Fig.3], between each vertex 38 of each holding tab 36, a flat face 39 extends.

[0053] As seen in Figures 2 and 4, the holding tabs 26 have a curved shape relative to a radial plane of the bottle considering the main axis P.

[0054] More precisely, the holding tabs 26 are curved such that the top 38 of each holding tab forms a support point for the base when the bottle 10 is positioned upright resting on its base 18, as seen in [Fig.l].

[0055] From this, it is understood that the flat faces 39 have a curved shape as visible in [Fig.2].

[0056] Thus, it is understood that when the bottle 10 is placed on a support, or flat surface SP, in its upright position resting with its base 18 on the flat surface SP as visible in [Fig.l], only the tops 38 of the holding tabs 36 are in contact with the support.

[0057] Advantageously, the tops 38 of the holding tabs 36 each comprise a bearing surface 43 visible in [Fig.2], parallel to a radial plane, intended to rest on the support or flat surface.

[0058] It is also understood that, when the bottle 10 is in a lying position on the surface or flat surface SP as visible in [Fig.6], that is to say when it rests partially on its base 18 and its peripheral wall 14, one of the flat faces 39 of the base 24 and the vertices 38 adjacent to said flat face 39 form a support surface of the base 18 on the surface or flat surface SP.

[0059] Thanks to these flat faces 39, the bottle 10 cannot roll on the support or flat surface SP. This is particularly advantageous in the case where this support or flat surface SP is a conveyor belt used on a waste sorting site.

[0060] In particular, when the waste sorting site implements a waste sorting method comprising at least one step of detecting the material and one step of ejecting the bottle, and in which the steps are time-shifted from one another, it is advantageous for the bottle, once detected, not to roll in order to ensure its proper ejection by the air jet.

[0061] As seen in Figures 2 and 3, the base 18 comprises a cylindrical wall 40 which extends in axial projection from the central portion 28 of the base.

[0062] More precisely, the cylindrical wall 40 extends circularly around the main axis P and radially between the central portion 26 and the second bearing surface 32 of the reception zone 28 mentioned previously.

[0063] It is then understood that the cylindrical wall 40 is configured to extend into the internal volume 15 of the external container 12 of the bottle 10, as visible in [Fig.5].

[0064] More precisely, the cylindrical wall 40 is dimensioned such that it extends axially in the internal volume 15 of the external container 12 and against an internal face 42 of the peripheral wall 14 which extends in the internal volume 15.

[0065] According to the example of the invention illustrated, the cylindrical wall 40 may comprise a chamfered end face, visible in [Fig. 5], so as to facilitate its insertion into the internal volume 15 of the external container 12 when mounting the base 18 on the latter.

[0066] The cylindrical wall 40 comprises a circular groove 44, visible in Figures 2 and 5, and which extends circularly on an external peripheral face 41 of the circular wall 40, opposite the central portion 26.

[0067] In particular, the circular groove 44 extends opposite the internal face 42 of the peripheral wall 14 when the base 18 closes the lower axial end 16b of the external container 12, as visible in [Fig.5].

[0068] Thus, the internal face 42 of the peripheral wall 14 comprises a peripheral bead 46 which extends circularly against the internal face 42 of the peripheral wall 14 and in such a way that it cooperates with the circular groove 44 of the cylindrical wall 40 when the base 18 closes the lower axial end 16b of the outer container 12.

[0069] In other words, the bead 46 extends circularly against the internal face 42 of the peripheral wall 14 so that it fits in the circular groove 44 of the cylindrical wall 40 of the base 18 when the latter closes the lower axial end 16b of the external container 12.

[0070] It is then understood that the bead 46 participates in locking the base 18 in position on the lower axial end 16b of the outer container 12.

[0071] It should also be considered that alternatively and not illustrated, the bead could be formed on the external peripheral face of the cylindrical wall of the base while the internal face of the peripheral wall comprises the circular groove.

[0072] It is understood from the above that the base is mounted on the lower axial end 16b of the outer container 12 of the bottle by axial insertion of its cylindrical wall 40 into the internal volume 15 at the level of the lower axial end 16b of the outer container 12 and until the edge 34 of the peripheral wall 14 comes into abutment against the reception zone 28 previously described, and so as to snap the bead 46 into the circular groove 44 as previously described.

[0073] Advantage is thus taken of the bottle as it has just been described in that its polygonal-shaped base gives it better support when it rests upright on a support, in particular by resting on the tops of its support legs.

[0074] Also, the bottle according to the invention is advantageous in that, in a lying position of the bottle on a surface, i.e. resting at least partly on its wall peripheral and its base, the polygonal shape of the base of the base limits its rolling on said surface. In other words, the tops of the retaining tabs of the polygonal base of the base, which extend radially beyond the circumference of the outer container, form angular stops of the bottle thus preventing its rotation when it rests on one of the flat faces of the base.
