Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: MOTORIZED PARASOL DEVICE TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of sun protection devices, and more particularly to a motorized parasol device.
[0002] Motorized parasol devices such as those described in documents EP 4 309 540 A1 and WO 2007 / 147293 A1, for example, are known. These motorized parasol devices comprise: - a parasol base including: • a main tube extending in a first longitudinal direction between a first end intended to be placed on or near the ground and a second end, • a slide indexed in rotation in the main tube and movable in translation in the main tube along the first longitudinal direction between at least one retraction position, in which the slide is at a first distance from the second end, and an extension position, in which the slide is at a second distance from the second end, the first distance being less than the second distance, • motorized means contained within the main tube and shaped to move the slide between its retracted and extended positions, - a parasol canopy including: • a secondary tube extending along a second longitudinal direction between a first end intended to be received in the main tube and a second end.
[0003] In these motorized parasol devices, the parasol canopy comprises a ring attached to and fixed onto the main tube. The parasol ribs are hinged to the secondary tube, which is designed to slide within the main tube and is inseparable from it. The sub-ribs are hinged to the ribs on one side and to the ring on the other.
[0004] These devices therefore require a specific and complex parasol. Such a ring and its attachment to the main tube are not found on conventional parasol parasols, which are generally equipped with a ring that slides along the secondary tube. Furthermore, accidental damage to the secondary tube renders them unusable or necessitates lengthy, complex, and costly maintenance (when it is even possible). Description of the invention
[0005] One problem proposed by the present invention is to provide a reliable motorized parasol device that is easy and quick to repair regardless of which part of the parasol is damaged.
[0006] Simultaneously, the present invention aims to provide a motorized parasol device that is less expensive to manufacture.
[0007] To reach these objects and others, the invention proposes a motorized parasol device comprising: - a parasol base comprising: • a main tube extending in a first longitudinal direction between a first end intended to be placed on or near the ground and a second end, • a slide indexed in rotation in the main tube and movable in translation in the main tube along the first longitudinal direction between at least one retraction position, in which the slide is at a first distance from the second end, and an extension position, in which the slide is at a second distance from the second end, the first distance being less than the second distance, • motorized means contained within the main tube and shaped to move the slide between its retracted and extended positions, - a parasol canopy comprising a secondary tube extending in a second longitudinal direction between a first end intended to be received in the main tube and a second end;
[0008] according to the invention: - the parasol canopy includes a ring arranged to slide along the secondary tube, capable of causing the parasol canopy to deploy when moved towards the second end of the secondary tube and of causing the parasol canopy to fold when moved towards the first end of the secondary tube,
[0009] - the parasol device includes first connecting means allowing it to reversibly lidarize the first end of the secondary tube to the slider. - the ring has an external cross-section shaped to allow the ring to butt against the second end of the main tube.
[0010] The parasol of such a motorized parasol device is then similar to classic parasols, whose ring slides directly on a secondary tube.
[0011] In the event of damage to the parasol, thanks to the first means of connection which ensure reversible fixing, the secondary tube and the slide can be quickly and easily separated to remove the parasol in its entirety, and then replaced with a new parasol just as easily.
[0012] To limit any risk of untimely opening by the wind and thus make its operation more reliable, the parasol device may advantageously include second means of connection allowing the ring of the parasol umbrella to be reversibly secured to the second end of the main tube.
[0013] Preferably, the parasol canopy may include: - articulated ribs pivoting on the secondary tube near its second end and carrying a shade sail, said ribs being movable between a folded position, in which the ribs extend substantially along the secondary tube forming a first angle with the second longitudinal direction, and at least one deployed position, in which the ribs extend away from the secondary tube forming a second angle with the second longitudinal direction greater than the first angle, - articulated sub-ribs pivoting on a respective rib on the one hand and on said ring on the other hand, arranged so as to cause a displacement of the ribs between said at least one deployment position and their folding position when the ring slides along the secondary tube.
[0014] Advantageously, the first connecting means may include bayonet or screw coupling means. Such first connecting means allow the secondary tube to be secured to the slide by performing specific movements with little effort, but offer very high resistance against an attempt to unintentionally separate the secondary tube and the slide (by simple translation of one away from the other).
[0015] Preferably, the bayonet coupling means may include: - at least one lug carried by the slide, extending radially away from the first longitudinal direction, - at least one longitudinally profiled slot substantially in the shape of an "L" formed from the first end of the secondary tube, and of sufficient width to receive said at least one lug.
[0016] Advantageously, the motorized parasol device may include, near the second end of the main tube, low-backlash sliding guide means for the secondary tube within the main tube. Such guidance effectively limits the risk of damage.
[0017] Advantageously, the slide can be indexed in rotation within the main tube by the cooperation of shapes between the outer cross-section of the slide and the inner cross-section of the main tube, preferably with at least one longitudinal rib formed inside the main tube and cooperating with at least one longitudinal groove formed in the periphery of the slide. Such indexing is reliable and simple to implement.
[0018] Preferably, the motorized means may include: - an electric motor located inside the main tube and fixed in rotation and translation relative to the main tube, - a threaded rod extending along the first longitudinal direction, coupled to the electric motor to be driven in rotation by the electric motor in two opposite directions of rotation.
[0019] Such motorized means are simple, reliable and compact.
[0020] The slide can advantageously be coupled by screwing it onto the threaded rod of the motorized means. The rotation of the threaded rod thus allows the slide to be moved reliably, precisely and continuously between its retracted and extended positions.
[0021] In a specific embodiment of a motorized parasol device according to the present invention, the main tube may comprise a lower section and an upper section arranged telescopically, so that the lower section can be moved between at least one protrusion position, in which the lower and upper sections have a first overlap along the first longitudinal direction, and at least one retracted position, in which the lower and upper sections have a second overlap along the first longitudinal direction, the second overlap being greater than the first overlap.
[0022] With such an arrangement, the parasol canopy, once deployed, can be maintained at a satisfactory height above the ground on which the motorized parasol mechanism rests. It should be noted that such an arrangement is advantageous even in the absence of initial connecting means and with a ring attached to the main tube (as in the earlier documents EP 4 309 540 A1 and WO 2007 / 147293 A1, for example). Such an arrangement can therefore be protected independently by filing a separate patent application, even in the absence of reversible initial connecting means and with a ring attached to the main tube.
[0023] In a first variant of said specific embodiment of the motorized parasol device, it can be provided that: - a movement of the slider towards its retracted position occurs simultaneously with a movement of the lower section towards its folded position, and - a movement of the slider towards its extension position is carried out simultaneously with a movement of the lower section towards its protrusion position.
[0024] With such an arrangement, the motorized parasol device has an overall length that is permanently constant: the movement of the lower section of the main tube relative to the upper section of the main tube constantly compensates for the movement of the secondary tube relative to the main tube. This is particularly useful when the operating environment offers limited height (for example, when used on a balcony that is itself overhung by another balcony): if the The motorized parasol device stays in height when the parasol canopy is deployed, and it will do the same when it is folded.
[0025] To achieve this, a simple and reliable structure can advantageously be provided in practice in which: - the motorized means comprise an electric motor located inside the main tube and fixed in rotation and translation relative to the main tube, - the motorized means comprise a threaded rod extending along the first longitudinal direction, coupled to the electric motor to be driven in rotation by the electric motor in two opposite directions of rotation, - the slide is coupled by screwing onto the threaded rod of the motorized means, - the slide is coupled to the lower section of the main tube, so that a translation of the slide relative to the main tube causes a translation of the lower section of the main tube relative to the upper section of the main tube.
[0026] Preferably, it can be provided that: - at least one radial passage is provided between the electric motor and the upper section of the main tube, - at least one coupling rod extends from the lower section of the main tube to the slider, passing through said at least one radial passage.
[0027] The lower section of the main tube is thus coupled in a simple and reliable way to the slide.
[0028] In a second variant of said specific embodiment of the motorized parasol device, it may be provided that: - a movement of the slider towards its extended position occurs prior to a movement of the lower section towards its protruding position, and - a movement of the lower section towards its folded position is carried out prior to a movement of the slide towards its retracted position.
[0029] The user can then freely adjust the overall height of the motorized parasol device once the parasol canopy has been deployed. It should be noted that such an arrangement is advantageous even in the absence of initial connecting means and with a ring attached to the main tube (as in earlier documents EP 4 309 540 A1 and WO 2007 / 147293 A1, for example). Such an arrangement can therefore be protected independently by filing a separate patent application, even in the absence of reversible initial connecting means and with a ring attached to the main tube.
[0030] For this second variant, a simple and reliable structure can be advantageously provided in practice in which: - the motorized means comprise an electric motor located inside the main tube and fixed in rotation and translation relative to the main tube, - the motorized means comprise a threaded rod extending along the first longitudinal direction, coupled to the electric motor to be driven in rotation by the electric motor in two opposite directions of rotation, - the slide is arranged to slide freely within the main tube, - the motorized means include a nut element indexed in rotation within the main tube and cooperating by screwing with the threaded rod to be moved reciprocally within the main tube along the first longitudinal direction along a translational stroke, - the parasol device includes first coupling means, integral with the slide, configured to selectively connect the nut element to the slide so that the slide can be moved between its retracted and extended positions by the displacement of the nut element during a first segment of translational travel in the main tube, - the parasol device includes second coupling means, attached to the lower section of the main tube, configured to selectively attach the nut element to the lower section of the main tube so that the lower section of the main tube can be moved between its folded and protruded positions by the movement of the nut element during a second stroke in translation in the main tube, the second stroke being distinct from the first stroke.
[0031] To couple the lower section of the main tube to the second coupling means in a simple and reliable manner, it may advantageously be provided that: - at least one radial passage is provided between the electric motor and the upper section of the main tube, - at least one coupling rod extends from the lower section of the main tube to the second coupling means by passing through said at least one radial passage.
[0032] Preferably, stop means can limit the overlap between the lower and upper sections of the main tube. SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED IMPLEMENTATION METHODS
[0056] When identical numerical references are used in several figures, embodiments or variants of the invention, these numerical references designate identical or similar elements in each of the figures, embodiments or variants.
[0057] Figures 1 to 12, 13 to 15 and 16 to 22 respectively illustrate three embodiments of motorized parasol devices 1. The first embodiment of the motorized parasol device 1 will first be described in detail with the aid of Figures 1 to 12, before explaining the features distinguishing the first embodiment from the second and third embodiments illustrated in Figures 13 to 15 on the one hand and 16 to 22 on the other.
[0058] The first embodiment of the motorized parasol device 1 is more particularly illustrated in figures 1 to 12.
[0059] In these figures 1 to 12, the motorized parasol device 1 comprises a parasol base 2 and a parasol canopy 3.
[0060] The parasol base 2 comprises: - a main tube 4 extending along a first longitudinal direction II between a first end 4a intended to be placed on or near the ground and a second end 4b (see [Fig.l] in particular), - a slide 5 indexed in rotation in the main tube 4 and movable in translation in the main tube 4 along the first longitudinal direction II (according to a bidirectional movement illustrated by arrow 6 on [Fig.2]) between at least one retraction position ([Fig. 12]), in which the slider 5 is at a first distance DI from the second end 4b, and an extension position ([Fig.11]), in which the slider 5 is at a second distance D2 from the second end 4b, the first distance DI being less than the second distance D2, - motorized means 7 (figures 2, 11 and 12) contained in the main tube 4 and shaped to move the slider 5 between its retraction ([Fig. 12]) and extension ([Fig.11]) positions.
[0061] The parasol canopy 3 ([Fig.1]) comprises: - a secondary tube 8 extending along a second longitudinal direction II-II between a first end 8a intended to be received in the main tube 4 and a second end 8b, - a ring 9 arranged to slide along the secondary tube 8, capable of causing the parasol 3 to unfold by being moved towards the second end 8b of the secondary tube 8 (which results in the unfolded parasol 3 of figures 1 and 11) and of causing the parasol 3 to fold by being moved towards the first end 8a of the secondary tube 8 (which results in the folded parasol 3 of figures 3 and 12).
[0062] When the secondary tube 8 of the parasol canopy 3 is slidably engaged in the main tube 4 of the parasol base 2, the first II and second II-II longitudinal directions are coincident.
[0063] More specifically, the ring 9 slides directly along the secondary tube 8.
[0064] The ring 9 has an external cross-section shaped to allow the ring 9 to come against the second end 4b of the main tube 4, as is more particularly illustrated in figures 4 and 5.
[0065] As can be seen more particularly in Figures 1 and 3 to 5, the parasol canopy 3 has ribs 10 pivotally articulated on the secondary tube 8 near its second end 8b. The ribs 10 are intended to support a shade sail (which is not shown here to facilitate the reader's understanding of the figures). The ribs 10 are movable between a folded position ([Fig. 3]), in which the ribs 10 extend substantially along the secondary tube 8, forming a first angle A1 with the second longitudinal direction II-II, and at least one deployed position ([Fig. 1]), in which the ribs 10 extend away from the secondary tube 8, forming a second angle A2, greater than the first angle A1, with the second longitudinal direction II-II.
[0066] Sub-ribs 11 are pivotally articulated on a respective rib 10 on the one hand and on said ring 9 on the other hand, arranged so as to cause a displacement whales 10 between their said at least one deployment position ([Fig.1]) and their said folding position ([Fig.3]) during the sliding of the ring 9 along the secondary tube 8.
[0067] The parasol device 1 includes first connecting means 12 for reversibly securing the first end 8a of the secondary tube 8 to the slide 5. The first connecting means 12 are more particularly visible in figures 6 to 8.
[0068] Here, the first connecting means 12 include bayonet coupling means comprising: - two lugs 13a and 13b (diametrically opposed) carried by the slide 5, extending radially away from the first longitudinal direction II, - two slots 14a and 14b (slot 14b is hidden on [Fig.6]) with a longitudinal profile substantially in the shape of an "L" formed from the first end 8a of the secondary tube 8, and of sufficient width to receive respectively the lugs 13a and 13b.
[0069] It can be seen more particularly in figures 7 and 8 that the slider 5 has a base body 5a on which is provided a pusher 5b arranged to slide along the first longitudinal direction II, and which is permanently returned towards the lugs 13a and 13b by a helical spring 15 (elastic return means other than a helical spring are however conceivable).
[0070] The operation of the first linking means 12 is explained more particularly by means of [Fig. 10].
[0071] In a first step 10(a), the first end 8a of the secondary tube 8 is brought close to the slide 5, with the slots 14a and 14b respectively aligned with the lugs 13a and 13b, until it comes into contact with the pusher 5b (step 10(b)). The helical spring 15 provides sufficient resistance to keep the pusher 5b in contact with the lugs 13a and 13b despite the weight of the parasol canopy 3.
[0072] The user then applies a push to the parasol canopy 3, as illustrated by arrow 16, so as to reach the position of step 10(c) in which the lugs 13a and 13b have entered the longitudinal sections of the slots 14a and 14b by sliding the pusher 5b away from the lugs 13a and 13b. The helical spring 15 is thus compressed.
[0073] While maintaining the pushing force (arrow 16), the user then applies a rotation to the parasol canopy 3, as illustrated by arrow 17, until it reaches the position of step 10(d), causing the lugs 13a and 13b to engage in the transverse sections of the slots 14a and 14b. The user then releases the pushing force, which allows the pusher 5b to be pushed back towards the lugs 13a and 13b by the helical spring 15: the first connecting means 12 to the bayonet coupling means are then engaged (step 10(e)) and secure the parasol canopy 3 to the slide 5. This securing is reversible by performing inverse maneuvers between the parasol canopy 3 and the slide 5.
[0074] As an alternative to first means of connecting 12 to coupling means by bayonet fitting, first means of connecting 12 to coupling means by screw fitting may be used (with an internal thread in the secondary tube 8 and an external thread on the base body 5a of the slider 5 for example).
[0075] It can be seen more particularly in Figures 4 and 5 that the parasol device 1 includes second connecting means 18 for reversibly attaching the ring 9 of the parasol canopy 3 to the second end 4b of the main tube 4. In this case, the second connecting means 18 comprise: - two hooks 19a and 19b (which are diametrically opposed here) arranged at the second end 4b of the main tube 4 and respectively pivotally articulated with respect to the main tube 4 around two directions III-III and IV-IV which are perpendicular to the first longitudinal direction II - a hooking groove 20, made in the periphery of the ring 9 and sized to receive the hooks 19a and 19b.
[0076] Preferably, the hooks 19a and 19b are permanently returned to their hooking position ([Fig.5]) by elastic return means such as springs or an elastic ring.
[0077] When the hooks 19a and 19b are engaged in the hooking groove 20 of the ring 9 ([Fig.5]), they hold the ring 9 permanently against the second end 4b of the main tube 4.
[0078] As an alternative to pivoting hooks 19a or 19b, elastically deformable hooks radially towards and away from the first longitudinal direction II can be provided.
[0079] In figures 2 and 4, it can be seen that, in the vicinity of the second end 4b of the main tube 4, there are provided low-backlash sliding guide means 21 for the secondary tube 8 in the main tube 4. The guide means 21 are in the form of a sleeve 21a providing long guidance and centered guidance of the secondary tube 8 in the main tube 4 so as to make the first II and second ILII longitudinal directions coincide.
[0080] Figure 9 is a cross-sectional view of the parasol base 2 taken along the section plane PI illustrated in Figure 2. Figure 9 shows that the slide 5 is indexed in rotation within the main tube 4 by a cooperation of shapes between the outer cross-section of the slide 5 and the inner cross-section of the main tube 4. In this case, two longitudinal ribs 22a and 22b are provided inside the main tube 4 and cooperate with at least two longitudinal grooves. tudinales 23a and 23b provided in the periphery of the slide 5.
[0081] It can be seen more particularly in [Fig.2] that the motorized means 7 comprise: - an electric motor 24 disposed inside the main tube 4 and fixed in rotation and translation relative to the main tube 4, - a threaded rod 25 extending along the first longitudinal direction II, coupled to the electric motor 24 to be driven in rotation by the electric motor 24 in two opposite directions of rotation.
[0082] In the first embodiment, the slide 5 is coupled by screwing onto the threaded rod 25 of the motorized means 7. To do this, the basic body 5a of the slide 5 has a longitudinal through passage 26 (figures 7 and 8) internally threaded and cooperating by screwing with the threaded rod 25 (externally threaded).
[0083] The operation of the first embodiment of parasol device 1 is illustrated in Figures 11 and 12.
[0084] In [Fig. 12], the parasol canopy 3 is folded (with the ribs 10 in the folded position). The slide 5 is then at a first distance DI from the second end 4b of the main tube 4 (retracted position) while the ring 9 is fixed to the main tube 4, abutting the second end 4b of the main tube 4.
[0085] To deploy the parasol canopy 3, the motorized means 7 are controlled to rotate the threaded rod 25 so as to move the slider 5 to its extension position ([Fig. 11]) in which the slider 5 is at a second distance D2 from the second end 4b, the second distance D2 being greater than the first distance DI.
[0086] Such a movement of the slider 5 has the effect of increasing the penetration length of the secondary tube 8 in the main tube 4 and of moving the ring 9 up towards the second end 8b of the secondary tube 8. The movement of the ring 9 causes a movement of the ribs 10 towards their deployment position ( [Fig. 11]): we then arrive at the position of [Fig. 11] on which the parasol umbrella 3 is deployed.
[0087] In this first embodiment, when the parasol canopy 3 is deployed, the total length L of the parasol device 1 ([Fig. 11]) is less than when the parasol canopy 3 is folded. The total length L of the parasol device 1 is therefore not constant during its use.
[0088] The second embodiment of the motorized parasol device 1 illustrated in Figures 13 to 15 differs from the first embodiment in that the main tube 4 comprises a lower section 40a and an upper section 40b, arranged telescopically (see [Fig. 13]) and thus presenting an overlap R between them. The section lower 40a can be moved between at least one protrusion position (position 15(b) of [Fig. 15]), in which the lower 4a and upper 4b sections have a first overlap RI along the first longitudinal direction II, and at least one fold position (position 15(a) of [Fig. 15]), in which the lower 4a and upper 4b sections have a second overlap R2 along the first longitudinal direction II, the second overlap R2 being greater than the first overlap RI.
[0089] The slide 5 is coupled to the lower section 40a of the main tube 4, so that a translation of the slide 5 relative to the main tube 4 causes a translation of the lower section 40a of the main tube 4 relative to the upper section 40b of the main tube 4.
[0090] In practice, we observe in perspective figure 13 and in [Fig. 14], which is a cross-sectional view taken along the transverse plane P2, that: - two radial passages 27a and 27b (diametrically opposed here) are provided between the electric motor 24 and the upper section 40b of the main tube 4, - two coupling rods 28a and 28b extend from the lower section 40a of the main tube 4 to the slide 5 through said radial passages 27a and 27b.
[0091] The coupling rods 28a and 28b are fixed (hooked in this case) to the slide 5 (see [Fig. 13]).
[0092] Thus, in the second embodiment of the motorized parasol device 1: - a movement of the slider 5 towards its retracted position (position 15(a) of [Fig. 15]) is carried out simultaneously with a movement of the lower section 40a towards its folded position (position 15(a) of [Fig. 15]), and - a movement of the slider 5 towards its extension position (position 15(b) of [Fig. 15]) is carried out simultaneously with a movement of the lower section 40a towards its projection position (position 15(b) of [Fig. 15]).
[0093] With such an arrangement, the motorized parasol device 1 has a total length L which is permanently constant: the movement of the lower section 40a of the main tube 4 relative to the upper section 40b of the main tube 4 compensates at all times for the movement of the secondary tube 8 relative to the main tube 4.
[0094] The third embodiment of the motorized parasol device 1 illustrated in figures 16 to 22 differs from the second embodiment in that the slide 5 is arranged to slide freely in the main tube 4. The slide 5 no longer cooperates by screwing with the threaded rod 25, and more particularly here its basic body 5a has a longitudinal through passage 26 which is smooth so as to slide freely along the threaded rod 25.
[0095] Another difference of the third embodiment of parasol device 1 with The second embodiment is that the motorized means 7 comprise a nut element 29 indexed for rotation in the main tube 4 and cooperating by screwing with the threaded rod 25 to be reciprocally moved within the main tube 4 along the first longitudinal direction II by a translational stroke C. The nut element 29 has a longitudinal through passage 29a with internal threads cooperating by screwing with the external thread of the threaded rod 25. The nut element 29 is indexed for rotation in the main tube 4 in the same way as the slide 5, that is, by an interplay of shapes between the longitudinal ribs 22a and 22b with longitudinal grooves 29b and 29c formed in the periphery of the nut element 29.
[0096] Another difference of the third embodiment of parasol device 1 with the second embodiment is that the parasol device 1 includes first coupling means 31, integral with the slide 5, configured to selectively connect the nut element 29 to the slide 5 so that the slide 5 can be moved between its retraction and extension positions by the movement of the nut element 29 during a first stroke Cl in translation in the main tube 4.
[0097] Another difference between the third embodiment of the parasol device 1 and the second embodiment is that the parasol device 1 comprises second coupling means 32, integral with the lower section 40a of the main tube 4, configured to selectively connect the nut element 29 to the lower section 40a of the main tube 4 such that the lower section 40a of the main tube 4 can be moved between its folded and extended positions by the movement of the nut element 29 during a second stroke C2 in translation within the main tube 4, the second stroke C2 being distinct from the first stroke CL
[0098] In practice, the second coupling means 32 are secured to the lower section 40a of the main tube 4 in a manner similar to that which has been described in connection with the second embodiment of parasol device 1 (at least one radial passage 27a or 27b and at least one coupling rod 28a or 28b, as in Figures 13 and 14).
[0099] Thanks to these various features, the third embodiment of the parasol device 1 functions in such a way that: - a movement of the slider 5 towards its extended position is carried out prior to a movement of the lower section 40a towards its protruding position, and - a movement of the lower section 40a towards its folding position is carried out prior to a movement of the slider 5 towards its retraction position.
[0100] Thus, the third embodiment of the parasol device 1 allows the user to fully deploy the parasol canopy 3 (moving from position 22(a) to position 22(b) of [Fig.22]) before being able to adjust, if desired, the total length L of the parasol device 1 by adjusting the length of the parasol base 2 by varying the overlap R between the lower section 40a and the upper section 40b of the main tube 4 (moving for example from position 22(b) to position 22(c) of [Fig.22]).
[0101] The penetration of the lower section 40a into the upper section 40b is limited by stop means 36. Here, the stop means 36 comprise a shoulder 37 with a stop facet 37a oriented towards the second end 4b of the main tube 4 and against which the upper section 40b (positions 22(a) and 22(b)) rests when the overlap R is at its maximum (R2).
[0102] The nut element 29 has first 29d and second 29e undercut lugs as well as first 29f and second 29g truncated conical lugs.
[0103] The operation of the third embodiment of the parasol device 1 will now be explained by means of Figures 16 to 21. It should be noted that the strokes C1 and C2 illustrated in these figures are for illustrative purposes only and may have different lengths and proportions. Furthermore, the parasol canopy 3 has been omitted from Figures 16 to 21 so as not to hinder the reader's understanding. However, it should be assumed in all these figures that the parasol canopy 3 is attached to the slide 5 by means of the first connecting means 12 previously described.
[0104] In [Fig. 16], the parasol device 1 is in position 22(a) of [Fig. 22], i.e., with the parasol canopy 3 folded and the main tube 4 having its shortest length L4 (due to an overlap R between the lower section 40a and the upper section 40b, which is maximum R2). The slide 5 is in its retracted position, and the lower section 40a is in its folded position.
[0105] It can be seen more particularly on [Fig. 16] that the first coupling means 31 receive the first undercut stud 29d in a housing 31a, which has the effect of securing the nut element 29 to the slide 5 so that the slide 5 can be moved along the first longitudinal direction II between its retraction and extension positions by the movement of the nut element 29 during a first stroke segment Cl in translation in the main tube 4 according to the movement illustrated by the arrow 33.
[0106] To deploy the parasol canopy 3, the user controls the motorized means 7 to rotate the threaded rod 25 in a first direction of rotation. The rotation of the threaded rod 25, through its screwing interaction with the longitudinal through-hole 29a of the nut element 29, drives the nut element 29 in the movement illustrated by arrow 33. By the shape interference between the first pin with undercut 29d and housing 31a of the first coupling means 31, the movement of the nut element 29 causes a displacement of the slide 5 from its retraction position ([Fig.16]) to its extension position ([Fig.18]) according to the movement illustrated by the arrow 33.
[0107] Before reaching the extension position ([Fig. 18]) of the slide 5, it can be seen in figures 16 and 17 that the first coupling means 31 remain substantially centered between the longitudinal ribs 22a and 22b, and that the second undercut stud 29e of the nut element 29 penetrates into a housing 32a of the second coupling means 32.
[0108] When the slide 5 reaches its extended position ([Fig. 18]), a first leaf spring 34 moves the first coupling means 31 transversely to enter a recess 220a formed in the rib 22a. The interference fit between the recess 220a and the first coupling means 31 then prevents any translation of the first coupling means 31 along the first longitudinal direction II.
[0109] In Figures 16 to 18, the second coupling means 32 are engaged in a housing 220b formed in the rib 22b. The cooperation by interference of shapes between the housing 220b and the second coupling means 32 makes it possible to block any translation of the second coupling means 32 along the first longitudinal direction II.
[0110] Since the first coupling means 31 are fixed to the slide 5, the slide 5 is thus immobilized longitudinally in its extended position ([Fig. 18]), and the parasol canopy 3 is held deployed. Since the second coupling means 32 are fixed to the lower section 40a and the longitudinal rib 22b is fixed to the upper section 40b, any translation of the lower section 40a relative to the upper section 40b is prohibited. The lower section 40a is thus immobilized longitudinally in its folded position. This results in position 22(b) of [Fig. 22].
[0111] By continuing the rotation of the threaded rod 25 in the first direction of rotation, the nut element 29 continues its longitudinal movement in the main tube 4 according to the movement illustrated by arrow 33 ([Fig. 19]). The transverse offset of the first coupling means 31 allows the first undercut stud 29d to escape from the housing 31a. Simultaneously, the transverse offset of the second coupling means 32 allows (from the step illustrated in [Fig. 17]) the second undercut stud 29e to enter the housing 32a.
[0112] Continuing its movement illustrated by arrow 33, the second frustoconical lug 29g enters a centering recess 32b of the second coupling means 32. The form cooperation between the second frustoconical lug 29g and the centering housing 32b, combined with the movement of the nut element 29, causes a recentering of the second coupling means 32 between the longitudinal ribs 22a and 22b ([Fig.20]) against a second leaf spring 35: the second coupling means 32 are moved out of the housing 220b and are thus no longer immobilized in translation along the first longitudinal direction II.
[0113] A continuation by the nut element 29 of its longitudinal translational movement, along the second stroke segment C2 in translation within the main tube 4, allows: - a complete separation between the nut element 29 and the first coupling means 31 (the first undercut stud 29d protrudes completely out of the housing 31a), - a displacement of the lower section 40a (attached to the second coupling means 32) from its folded position (position 22(a) and 22(b) of [Fig.22]) to its protruding position (position 22(c) of [Fig.22]).
[0114] When the nut element 29 has completed the entire second stroke segment C2, the nut element 29 is in the position shown in [Fig. 21], and the parasol device 1 is in position 22(c) of [Fig. 22] with the parasol canopy 3 held deployed and the lower section 40a immobilized longitudinally in its protrusion position. The parasol device 1 has a total length L that is identical in positions 22(a) and 22(c). However, a protrusion position of the lower section 40a can be chosen that provides a total length less than the length L (the largest) but greater than the length L' (position 22(b) of [Fig. 22]), or a protrusion position of the lower section 40a that provides a total length greater than the length L of position 22(a).
[0115] A reverse maneuver of the parasol device 1 (to fold the parasol canopy 3) will now be explained, but in a more brief manner.
[0116] When the user wishes to fold the parasol canopy 3, he commands the motorized means 7 to rotate the threaded rod 25 in the second direction of rotation (opposite to the first direction of rotation).
[0117] The nut element 29 then moves along the movement illustrated by the arrow 30 ( [Fig.21]), carrying with it the second coupling means 32 via the second undercut stud 29e. The lower section 40a then moves from its protruding position to its folded position.
[0118] When the lower section 40a reaches its folded position ([Fig. 18]), the upper section 40b comes to rest against the stop facet 37a of the stop means 36. The second leaf spring 35 offsets the second coupling means 32 (which is permitted by the second frustoconical lug 29g as it retracts from the centering recess 32b). The second coupling means 32 are then received in the transverse housing 220b, so that the lower section 40a is held in the folded position.
[0119] Simultaneously, the first undercut nipple 29d enters the housing 31a while the second undercut nipple 29e exits the housing 32a.
[0120] A continuation of its movement (arrow 30) by the nut element 29 causes the first frustoconical lug 29g to engage in the centering recess 31b: the first coupling means 31 are recentered between the ribs 22a and 22b and exit the transverse recess 220a. The nut element 29 is then coupled to the first coupling means 31 (and therefore to the slide 5) by the first undercut pin 29d and the recess 31a, and can move the slide 5 from its extended position to its retracted position so as to fold the parasol canopy 3. The interaction between the first undercut pin 29d and the recess 31a prevents the slide 5 from being moved beyond its retracted position.
[0121] Thus, the third embodiment of the parasol device 1 operates such that: - a movement of the slider 5 towards its extended position is carried out prior to a movement of the lower section 40a towards its protruding position, and - a movement of the lower section 40a towards its folding position is carried out prior to a movement of the slider 5 towards its retraction position.
[0122] In figures 16 to 21, a displacement of the first 31 and second 32 coupling means in and out of the respective housings 220a and 220b is carried out by translation away from and towards the first longitudinal direction II. However, a rotational movement of the first 31 and second 32 coupling means around the first longitudinal direction II can be provided as an alternative.
