Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Method for preparing a tire
[0001] The present invention relates to a method for preparing a tire comprising quality control by measuring the dynamic balance of an unvulcanized tire and a system or plant for preparing tires in order to carry out the method according to the present invention.
[0002] In the tire industry, it is important to respond as best and as quickly as possible to the needs of car manufacturers, particularly in view of the transition to electric vehicles. This is why developing new tire preparation methods is essential in order to adapt to the needs and the latest regulations. Even if in recent years different methods have been developed, there is always the need to develop new methods, particularly for the optimization of manufacturing stages and the increase in tire quality.
[0003] In particular, it has been discovered that with the method according to the present invention it is possible to prepare improved tires in particular thanks to quality control of unvulcanized tires aimed at correcting imperfections if present before its vulcanization. Indeed, this makes it possible to reduce the unfavorable effects of the tires when driving a vehicle such as vibrations or stability problems for example due to imperfections in balance and uniformity of tires.
[0004] Thus, the present invention relates to a method for preparing a tire, the method comprising
[0005] (a) preparing an unvulcanized tire, comprising
[0006] assembling tire components on a tire manufacturing drum;
[0007] (b) affixing a mark or a materialized mark R on the unvulcanized tire prepared according to (a), obtaining an unvulcanized marked tire;
[0008] (c) placing the unvulcanized marked tire obtained according to (b) in a tire mold M, including
[0009] (cl) carry out a quality control of the unvulcanized marked tire obtained according to (b), comprising
[0010] (c.1.1) the measurement of the dynamic balance of the unvulcanized marked tire with a measuring device, including the identification of potential balance imperfections on said unvulcanized marked tire;

[0013] - a category 2 when the unvulcanized marked tire complies with the limits of the specifications but has one or more balance imperfections for which a correction should be made;
[0014] - a category 3 when the tire marked unvulcanized does not comply with the limits of specifications and has one or more balance imperfections that require correction;

[0025] Preferably according to (a) the assembly of the tire components is automated.
[0026] Preferably (a) further comprises inflating the unvulcanized tire on the manufacturing drum to obtain a toroidal shape.
[0027] Preferably according to (a), the reference point is on the manufacturing drum. Preferably, when placing the tread on the carcass, a seal is formed. According to an alternative, the reference point is the seal formed on the tire.
[0028] Preferably the affixing of a mark or a materialized mark R according to (b) is done on one of the sidewalls of the unvulcanized tire prepared according to (a), more preferably at a distance dl from said reference point. An example of placement of the mark R is illustrated in [Fig.l].
[0029] Preferably, the affixing of a materialized mark R according to (ii) is done at a distance dl from said reference point. The distance dl is preferably practically invariable, in fact there is a margin of error of the order of F? millimeter at most. This allows the mark R to be affixed at the same place on the tire for each tire manufactured.

[0034] Preferably, the barcode or QR code is generated for each tire and contains one or more pieces of information on the composition of the tire, in particular one or more pieces of information on the components used to form the tire and / or on the chemical composition of the components used for the tire. This makes it possible to increase the traceability of a factory's tires.

[0073] For example, for radial force measurement of the marked tire, the sensor C1, preferably an axle sensor, is mounted on an assembly AP comprising a pressure roller. The pressure roller has the function of applying sufficient pressure to the outer circumferential surface of the uncured marked tire. The pressure roller is cylindrical in shape. A suitable axle sensor for use with the present invention is manufactured by, among others, Honigmann and sold under the trade name RFS 150. Each axle sensor preferably has a spindle so that it rotates with the roller and is capable of detecting radial forces. Thus, while the roller performs its application of pressure to the tread of the uncured tire, or commonly referred to as a green tire, the axle sensors measure the variation in radial force as the uncured marked tire rotates.
[0074] In the context of the present invention, the system for measuring the radial force of the unvulcanized marked tire can be carried out simultaneously with a step of stitching the tread using a stitching roller which has the function of applying sufficient pressure to ensure that the tread adheres sufficiently to the external circumferential surface of the carcass.

[0080] Preferably the measurement of the radial force of the unvulcanized marked tire is carried out on the tire manufacturing drum.
[0081] Preferably the determination of the coordinates of the reference R for the positioning of the unvulcanized marked tire in the mold M according to (c.2)(ii.l) is implemented by a computer.
[0082] Preferably, the determination of coordinates of the reference frame R for the positioning of the unvulcanized marked tire in the mold M is the determination of an angle a, in degrees, of rotation of the unvulcanized marked tire in the mold M relative to a point 0 located on the peripheral surface of the mold M which served as a starting point for the measurement of the deviations of the internal shape of the mold, making it possible to at least partially compensate for the deviations of the shape of this mold M and at least partially for one or more imperfections of balance for which a correction is suitable as identified according to (cl).
